So 30 reviews is a large enough sample size to determine whether a company is performing well or poorly?
30 reviews from people who all worked there ? Yes that’s more than enough !!
You should just stop arguing and start thinking.
Considering the new game’s direction, it’s obvious, current management team has no clue what to do with their game and ressources. They did a poorly expansion in a rush because they were put on pressure by NcSoft. Nothing was planned, they had no idea what to put in this expansion, so they did many CDI only to retain ideas compatibles with ther monetization goals.
A Good director is someone who knows what to do and stick to his plan, no matter what. That’s clearly not the case anymore in Anet.
Back in GW1, Izzy was the most hated guy on the forum because of his balances patchs, all players were flamming on him, but still he did his job in his own way, and we all recognize now that he did a great job balancing a game with thousands of skills and billions of possibilities.
Theses times seems so far away now…
Back in 2005, Arena was the best Game Studio, with the best game manifesto and economic model ever seen, but right now, they are one the worst…
I bought every Arenanet products in Collector Edition until HoT, and I’m so glad I didn’t buy this expac, I really don’t want to give my money to people who shifted their minds like that.
I hope there is not too much RNG involved in obtaining the new dyes
only 2 ways to earn gold efficiently :
1/ credit card
2/ TP flipping and speculation
Frustrations and annoyance are GW2 definitions. Life in GW2 towns is a hell, running npc everywhere, blocking you from accessing to basic services and repeating endlessly stupid sentences. But don’t worry, HoT will introduce a new Gemstore item to tune down those sounds.
They said the same thing for blade shards and all we got was a collector to exchange them for green weapons…. I don’t know, i can’t be hyped by their announces theses days, even good ones, it always reminds me on how they try to hide their mystakes.

I had many friends waiting for extentsion to come back to the game, when I told them the price, they laughed and told me, sorry buddy, we won’t come back at this price, goold luck with this game.
I won’t but HoT at this price, my friends won’t come back, time to stop this game for good.

I have 4 alts at lvl 50 or so, with less than 10 skill challenges done, with only the minimum traits unlocked to make them work, but with all the skills unlocked.
Easy question:
When the patch comes live…1- Will I have to re-earn the skills I have already unlocked?
Please answer yes or no.2- Will I get any compensation for the gold I invested to get the traits?
Please answer yes or no.3- Will I receive any compensation for the time I invested earning the skill points I used to unlock all the skills?
Please answer yes or no.
1 – yes
2- no
3- no
4- have fun grinding for hero point
In What Way Is HoT Adding "Progression"?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Acinonyx Rex.8609
In GW1, players asked for some kind of progression, so we got GW:EotN, with overpowered PvE only skills and a reputation grind.
That’s pretty much what we will have but overpowered skills should be replaced with map gated content.

They also said that simply leveling to 80 will be enough to unlock all the skills and traits.
Then you need like 60 or so more skill points to unlock the elite spec.
So what is the problem?
You need 465 points to unlock all core specialisations and utilities. The elite specialisation will cost another lot of points. I guess around 100.
The exact transition from the old to the new system is still unclear. Will already unlocked traits grant 5 points? Will these traits be lost? We have to see.
Wait a minute… If there are 465 hero points in total, how are you going to get 100 more to unlock anything?
Buy hoT to access new maps and new skills challenges…

They never said that, they said it was enough to make good builds, but not all of them. (core only of course)
60*20=1200.
1200 scrolls of knowledge is not a problem, but 1200 skills challenge is a grind.

A couple things:
1. Anything you’ve unlocked on your characters will STAY Unlocked. They aren’t going to take it away from you and make you “re-earn” it. I’m almsot positive everythign will be retroactive and grandfathered in like the first couple of changes.
2. Outside of the Old Trait Hunting thing (that wasn’t part of the NPE anyway) the NPE is actually easy and almost entirely unnoticeable to Veteran accounts. I have made over 10 characters since the NPE, a few of them I leveled up to “experience” it, and once they fixed all teh bugs (within less than a week mind you), I almost didn’t notice ANY difference at all. In fact with leveling accelerated from 2-15, I can get it in less than 30 minutes. In less than and hour I can be level 20 and the NPE no longer affects me at all other than a few of the “lock” outs like your last utility and Elite. The system is FAR better than the one we have now, and this is coming form someone who didn’t even mind the trait hunting thing.
1. According to video leveling 80 only gives you 400 hero points. Which means you have to do map completion for rest of hero points regardless of you did the skill challenge or not. There is a possibility that all skill challenge will reset since they did mention they will change skill challenge into hero challenge.
2. Just because you liked to do map completion 10 times in a row doesn’t mean everyone liked it. I doubt you killed the huge Grub in EB 10 times for each of your alts. Fix bugs less than a week? Map completion for 1 trait was in there for so long until NPE thread reached over 3000 responses. Then they changed it, but it is still a mindless time/gold/skill sink. There is absolutely no reason why I have to do the same thing for each of my characters. Also NPE still affects you beyond 22 because you can’t even have full trait lines until you are level 80. You clearly did not “experience” NPE1. But they aren’t going to take away you skills/traits that you’ve already unlocked. They never have i the past, ever. They’ve always let whatever you already had unlocked say there. The only thing the rolls to the new system is what you haven’t unlocked, and any new character you make will also have to unlock with the new system.
2. The NPE only touches you about levels 1-30. After that its essentially and completely the same as it always was. I have never done full map completion on all my alts. In fact I only have 100% on about 3 of them. The other 16 have 50% or less, and let me tell you, its not that hard to press F to Commune with a Place of Power while I’m out doing dungeons or something on said new alt. You’re blowing this out of proportion drastically.
EDIT: Also The NPE has NOTHING at all to do with Traits. The Trait Hunting Changes happened in September 2013 and were aimed at VETERAN players who wanted to “hunt skills” like GW1. They admitted they didn’t do the system justice, that’s why they are changing it again. the NPE happened in April 2014, and it is largely fine and there was nothing wrong with it after a week of its inception when they fixed the bugs for veteran players not seeing nodes and skill challenges on their alts. That is all fixed now and has been.
1. Yes, they are going to take away the skills you’ve unlocked. You will have a number of new hero points according to your level/number of skill point completed. Thoses points will let you unlock skills again, but if you had unlocked all skills with scrolls, you will now have to do the hero challenges.
2. NPE is a mess because most skills are level gated, skills unlock from weapon is terrible, and many ohter poorly implemented things
3. Trait hunting is a mess because of bugs, megaserver, and again, poorly designed.
Message to Anet : Letting players buying characters slots and make 15-20 alt because they are fast to max (You included Tomes and Scrolls of knowledge for a reason ?), and then tell them they have to do map completion with every of them is just a bad idea. How many players will accept such a grind ?
(edited by Acinonyx Rex.8609)
They said they will be transfered, but they also said there would never be an expansion, and that the game would remain “alt-friendly”, but with HoT you will have to grind with every char you have, so who knows…..
Some of you seems to know what is profitable for net and what is not, perhaps could you share your numbers ?
The fact is the economic model seems to no longer be the same. The gemstore was supposed to pump enough money to give us Living Story updates for free. Why have they switched to the expansion model ? Is it because Gemstore was not efficient ? Is it because players were asking (begging ?) Anet to take their money for an expansion ? What was the main reason for megserver ? The lack of players and necessity to avoid the empty maps feelings, or a cost reduction because the game was losing money ?
When the game started, John Smith was hired to give us statistics about number of players/professions and economy. Why don’t we have numbers about the game anymore ? Is it because the game is bleeding too much and that would make a bad advertising or because John Smith is too busy watching players flipping on the TP ?
Unless you can answer all these questions, I’m not sure you can tell if Anet should or should not make the slot bags account wide. The fact is many people won’t buy them until it’s done, and these people should suggest what they have in mind. That’s the forum purpose as far as I know.
Some of you are so prompt to take Anet defense that you don’t want to hear other people opinions. What’s the point ? Are you trying to get some moderator status or something ?
…
By purchasing keys you are basically acknowledging your ok with lottery involved.. if after finding you get insufficient amounts of tickets or a n other items that you wanted and choose to whine about how much it might now cost to get what you want.. simply means you shouldn’t of entered the lottery.
…
Can a 12 year old kid, who gambles with his parents money, understands this kind of things ?
IMO, he can’t, and that’s why he’s such a good prey for Anet, and such a cash cow….
Buy 1 damask for 10 pristine relics.
Add a mystic forge recipe :
1 fractal skin (any skin) + 1 ascended weapon composant (eg: 1 ancient blade) + 10 pristine relics + 10 shards of myst = new fractal skin (according to weapon composant)
Chuck Norris.
15 char
So needs a QoL Consume All on the drop down.
Of course that would be great but it has been requested many times and never answered. If it was easy to do, it would have been done by now. For the recipe, everything is in game, all you need is a new icon, only a few hours work.
All you need is a recipe to craft ascended essence of luck with 250 exotic essence of luck. Ascended essence of luck gives 50000 luck point and saves billions mouses.
“The core specializations changes are coming before HoT, elite will come with HoT”
Does that mean people withtout HoT won’t have access to Elite Skills anymore ? I just can’t believe that !?!
I’ve convinced some of my friends to return and log in again. When they saw they had to spend 1400 gems to catch up with Living Story, they just logged off and said they would probably never log in again…..
Probably not the best way to welcome a returning player…. And not the best way to convince them to buy an expansion pack….
How hard would it be to have a list of all available instances for every map ? I know that would ruin the ability for some guild to hide themself in their own instance, but is it really why this game has been created ? To allow some guild to hide themself in their own instances ?
Why can’t we have this list like in GW1 ? It was named districts by the way…
As I said before, considering we have Xunlai Electrum Ingot as an available slot in bank storage, this kind of bag should come at some point with jeweler 500.
I would love to buy the slvager’s Supplies but I bought Silver-Fed Salvage-o-matic 2 weeks ago. Do you think i could get a refund for my second silver-fed if i buy the pack today ?
if we speak about bug
Treasure Hunter -> Royal Signet of Doric infused don’t work.As mentioned above:
Please report issues and bugs in the game. I cannot tell you how much an in-game report helps us, because that kind of report provides a lot of back-end information that makes it possible to replicate the bug, where posting on a forum does not give the devs the same level of detail.
If you cannot report in the game, please post on the Bugs Forum with as many details as you can provide. If you have done so, thank you. And here’s a tip: It’s best to have separate threads for bugs, and not tag new bug reports on a thread about a different issue. Thanks for understanding.
Thank you very much for all information you gave us. We really need to know what you devs knows about the state of the game in order to be able to help you. I can perfectly understand that a rare and hard to reproduce bug is easier to spot with an ingame report.
But What about the Infused Royal Doric signet which doesn’t count the treasure hunter collection ? Any player has the exact same issue, it’s not a rare bug, it’s a common feature. How could it be helpfull to your devs to have an ingame report about that ? You just have to launch your game and see it by yourself.
If we better understand how you work, you may be more helpfull, but right now, I just don’t understand why you need an ingame report about that. Forum seems a better place to me.
Usually Sticky treads are used by moderators to summarize important informations for players. Since here, players have to summarize informations to moderators, players should be ale to create stickies.
I’m sorry you misunderstand what is happening. Let me explain: No players “have to summarize informations” for anyone, including me. Someone reported a bug. I asked for details, if that person or anyone else cared to share it. This is an efficient and provably useful synergy for forums, since those involved in the thread are well informed and may be willing to provide the info that is needed to follow up on their request for information. Those doing so are offering detail in the spirit of helpfulness and a willingness to contribute, and we appreciate that very much.
I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be rude, but this subject has been discussed a lot in many threads on this forum, when the patch came out. The point is we need a tool, or maybe a sticky thread, to list every major current issues, and your current status on the subject (aware of it/working on it/nothing can be done).
This list could include categories like “NPE” (mainly the unlock on level part), “Trait System” (improvments have been made, more could be done), or “Collections”.
On this last subject, others have mentionned some broken collections, but we could add that some collections can’t be done because of numerous bugs on events. (Treasure hunter comes to mind)
Edit: Many thanks for passing infos ;-)

Guhracie — I think your tone was very polite and constructive, and thanks for that, and for your suggestions.
I think what you’re suggesting is that we have a dedicated page in the News and Announcements Forum that listed external updates: a blog post here, an interview there, that sort of thing? So you’re thinking public information provided elsewhere might be gathered in a sticky post in that forum?
As to trying to provide links to informative forum posts, well, that’s precisely why we offer the Dev Tracker. In the Dev Tracker, forum members who are interested in learning the latest from the team can see what was said in whatever timeframe — the last day, the last week — they want to review. Maybe you mean something different, I’m not sure.
Valuable threads can be stickied in the appropriate forum. But perhaps my team could be more active in making threads sticky, and in removing them from sticky status. There’s nothing that demands that a thread that was stickied in 1998 needs to be stickied today.
Maybe a thread is relevant for a week or a month. After that, it can be unsticked. Others that remain relevant forever — like the “Tickets for Review” thread in the Support Sub-forum — should be left in stickied status forever.
Fact is, we don’t want a sticky-fest, where half of the front page of each sub-forum is filled with stickies. On the other hand, being more active with stickies could be very helpful and would keep the forums more current. Let me brainstorm with the team about this idea.
Thanks for a good topic of discussion. Feedback is welcome from anyone who’d care to offer it!
A sticky would have been usefull to let us know that leaked information on wooden potatoes about item collections during September update was actually an official communication from Anet.
Let’s say the jade brotherhood knew Brill had eggs to take care of. We know there was a portal in cristal desert leading to Elona, and I’ve read somewhere that the portal doesn’t lead to Elona anymore (but it didn’t say the portal doesn’t work). Could the brotherhood had recalibrated the portal in cristal desert to a portal next to the bloodstone in Magguma Jungle to evade the eggs in case of emergency ?
Edit: As many have spotted out, it’s not Jade Brotherhood, but Brotherhood of the dragon, and Glint instead of Brill, sorry for confusion.

Gathering tools slots should be account bound. When you equip an infinite tools every character should be able to use it simultaneously. Until then, I won’t buy any of them.
Oh, and get rid of gathering tools level limitation, make them all orichalchum level, because, you know, it’s very confusing for new players, and very frustating for old players.
Are the Guilds supposed to hide themself in some instance ? Honestly I’m not sure what to think about that, but let’s admit that’s something we want for the game. Anet could “easily” had an option in Guild Upgrade to “reserve” an instance, just the way a Guild can launch a World Boss.
The LFG tool is not so bad, but during LS events, or cooperative World Boss (Tequal), we are not looking for a group, but for a map (instance).
Could we have a tab in the Contact panel which list available instances for the map we are in. Each instance would be shown with some attributes :
- A language flag (EU instance could have up to 2 or 3 flags)
- A list of biggest guilds involved on this instance (2 or 3 biggest guilds represented on the instance)
- An “activity field”, describes the main activity on this isntance, options are :
— Exploration
— World Boss
— Meta Event (many maps have meta event, not only LS one like Drytop or Silverwastes)
— Friendly activities (RP, help for new palyers, Guild recruit, Jumping puzzle…)
— Mindless Farm (Bots needs their own instance)
When you load a map, an UI window shows the instance properties, and you have a drop down to vote for the activity you want do to do on this instance.
That way everybody play the way he wants, with people he wants.
To be honest I don’t get the rage against Gaile. She didn’t say anything to justify rants against her. Most of what she said was just relaying info behind the decisions…which we may not have liked, but that certainly isn’t her fault. And she was right in that a lot of people were just raging and not being constructive at all.
Gaile is certainly a nice person, but as a community mannager she did 2 big mistake the same day.
1. She didn’t realize how many players were upset, and she didn’t accept the ranting. Yes it was ranting, and it was her job to listen to it and deal with it. In the same post she said she did not have to apologize, but actually that’s exactly her job. When her company does something wrong she has to apologize for it and hope customer will understand.
2. She said to Kotaki that they will do domething, but didn’t tell us first. I think that’s a second big mistake, and it’s a lot for the same day.
Against, I have nothing personnaly against her, we all do mistakes everyday, and Gaile did such a great work back in GW1. We really love her, and maybe that’s why we are so angry. We are angry against Anet decision because we love GW2, and a little angry about Gaile reaction, because we love her.
Edit : OK, second mistake is now irrelevant. And as I said mistakes can happend.
1) No. She really DOESN’T have to accept ranting, to be perfectly honest. If you’re being rude and belligerent, a company has every right to throw you out. Being a customer does NOT give you carte blanche to behave as terrible of a little kitten as you want.
2) She’s a kitten community manager, not a developer. There’s absolutely nothing she can promise without the nod from someone higher up the chain. If all they say is “we’re working on something”, that’s all SHE can say.
1/ If ONE of your consummer is ranting you can ignore him, if thousands are, maybe there is something wrong on your side, and you should think twice before throw them out. Because many more could follow…
2/ But Kotaku was aware of the change before the consumers, so she had to keep us informed. But as i already said, she apologize with a good explanation for this, so there is no point to disscuss about it.

Kotaku is now reporting that Anet is planning to change in response to the outcry:
http://kotaku.com/guild-wars-2-players-angry-over-currency-exchange-chang-1649519173
Update: ArenaNet has responded with plans to update the Currency Exchange so players can use it as they wish. They offered the following statement:
“It’s clear that quite a lot of you would like to have greater flexibility in using the Currency Exchange. Our intention when we designed the new interface was to streamline large volume purchases, which make up the majority of transactions.
In light of your feedback, we will update the Currency Exchange so that you can decide how you want to use it. We will keep the new streamlined system and also offer a new “Custom” button on the panel that you can use to exchange any increment of gems or gold.
We anticipate rolling this out soon. Stay tuned!"
Very good news of course, but is Kotaku the new official way to realease information ? Forumers are not nice enough to get informations ?
Seriously, last time, collections lists leaked on the web, and it was considered as a “public release”, now we have to read Kotaku to have answers on the most active thread ?
At least, your communication skills matches your design decisions….
Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.
I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.
- Does that mean you get everything you want? Probably not.
- Does that mean you should suggest something? Yes, of course! Because they’re expecting player input.
So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.
I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!
Ok, I’ll do my best to stay polite. So, you’re intent was to improve user’s experience but you didn’t thought that removing one of the four primary characteristics of your main currency, his divisibility, would be an issue ? I don’t want to be rude, but I’m not an economist and it seems pretty obvious to me. Of course it’s always easier to say it’s wrong when it’s done. Mistakes can happen….
I can understand you’re not here to apologize (?) but maybe, acknowledge that something is wrong with current implementation would be a start.
Again, I don’t want to be rude but do you really need us to suggest to add at bottom of your new UI, a link to the old UI ? Again, it seems so obvious….
I’m sorry but I wonder how many people are still working on this game, maybe are you are all busy on Africa launch or some kind of other big project. I know you can’t discuss what you are working on, but if only a handfull of dev are actually on GW2 (like the rest of the year) because everyone else is busy elsewhere, we could better understand why such implementation happens….
I don’t mind about exclusivity, every player should be able to get any skin. But Mini Carlotta was a cash shop item worth 500 gems. I paid theses gems with real money and when the minis are finally usable, they give it for some candy corn. Anet you sure won’t see any more money from me….
We don’t have much data about loot system, but what we know because it has been officialy said many times by anet is that loot system is very complex.
What I know from computers is, the more complex, the more bugs.
Every time I’ve heard a dev talking about loot, it was something like “I don’t understand everything about loot, because it’s too complex, but what I know for sure is….”.
If no one (or only 1 person) understand how it works globally, you can’t fix it.
Anet devs are professionnal, so they must have a team working on this subject from time to time, to check if everything is working as intended. I’m pretty sure some tests are done perdiodically, but are this tests realized on the live servers ? Because with past updates we all witnessed your perfectly working patchs on tests servers were introducing bugs on live servers, so there must be some differences there.
Since you’re instanciating maps based on guild/friend list/server, couldn’t you instance a map only for dev/beta test accounts ? That wouldn’t be to test future update (your server can’t run 2 version simultaneously), only to test present content.

Acinonyx came up with a fantastic idea: Just apply the changes to the first character created.
Aincronyx didn’t “come up” with the idea, it’s been splattered everywhere since the 9/9 patch. It’s the most common suggestion I’ve seen to make everything “better”. It’s not like it’s some amazing idea, either, it’s perfectly common sense…
Sorry if I didn’t give credits to anyone for this idea, I didn’t read all the post, cause it’s painfull and it’s not my job (sorry Anet guys sometimes I think you should get some kind of medal for your work), but I’m pretty sure many people have invented the wheel before me.
Edit: to make this post usefull, @Chris, Is the system/content functionning as designed right now, or should we wait for an update ?
Oh, no, nothing against you personally.
I just wanted to make a point of saying that this is a REALLY common suggestion after the patch, so it’s not like the devs are only hearing it here for the first time.
Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh. I’m really, really not feeling well this week, and it’s been affecting my tone a good bit the last few days.
No problem, The more they see it, the better ;-)

Thank you very much, good to hear that !!
My feedback : Right now, it’s not a New Player Experience, but rather a New Character Experience.
To make it a NPE, you should make theses changes only apply for the first character created.
An easiest learn of curve could be a New Profession Experience, theses changes only apply when you make a character with a new profession (one you don’t have already).
How could this be implemented ?
Of course, you can’t rework everything, but maybe you could give access to all traits/skills sooner when you’ve unlocked the title “Profession_Name Master” (Guardian Master, Warrior Master and so on…).
How do you unlock this title ?
A/ Option 1:You have to level a character from this profession to level 80. (EDIT : at second thought, it would be too easy, should not be considered)
B/ Option2: You have to level a character from this profession to level 80 and unlock all skills/traits.
C/ Option 3:You have to level a character from this profession to level 80, unlock all skills and traits and get 100% map completion.
When you’ve mastered a profession, if you create a character with this profession, he gets access to all utility skills at lvl 20, even if level 1-15 is faster, and unlock all traits from tier 1 at level 20, all traits from tier 2 at level 40 and tier 3 at lvl 60.
That way you don’t have to farm traits over and over, and you can level alts without having to grind.
(edited by Acinonyx Rex.8609)
Same for me, infused version doesn’t count toward the achievment. Can we hope for a fix in future updates ? If you consider how many bugs the patch introduced, this one is probably not on top priority list.
Unless it’s made impossible, people with enough cash will keep buying entire stocks and reselling them higher.
There’s only two real solutions for that.
-Either limits in both time and quantity for trades. Buy 100 items, try to sell them back right away, and you see you have a cooldown on that. Until the cooldown ends, you can’t sell those items back. The more you bought the longer the cooldown. Bought too many crafting components and want to sell the rest back? Put them in the bank, wait, and then sell them.
- Or hard caps in prices. An exotic weapon from champion bags would be between 2 and 20 gold. An exotic trinket would not go higher than 10 gold, no lower than 50 silver. A crafted exotic not higher than 100 gold, no less than 1 gold, legendaries not higher than 1000, no less than 200g, and so on.
You made good suggestions, unfortunally, Anet hired an “economist resident” for GW2 and he thinks everything works as intended. No matter how hard you think economy is broken, you can’t show him proof because he’s the only one who got data. He was supposed to share his datas with us but he has no time for this anymore, so you can’t proof anything.
All we can say is everything works as intended, and if you want to compete with happy fews who got early informations, you should buy a lot more gems to convert into gold.
The changes aren’t designed for young or old players. As it has been said, all of them can get their hands on much more difficult games, as long as they are in NA/EU. I don’t think it’s an age issue, but more a cultural issue. This game is not anymore for NA/EU players, it’s for Asiatics players. I have nothing against asiatic people, I’m sure they are as smart and nice people as NA/EU, but it seems they have different culture of MMO, and this game is now tagerted to them.
Maybe they should have shut down NA/EU servers, and they will probably do so sooner or later. For now we are lucky, the game is still available in English and 5 different European languages, but if you plan to continue playing this game maybe you should consider learning Chineese or Korean. Before you make very inaccurate and ludicrous statements which borders on racism.. you should read this, “Why Gamers in Asia are the World’s Best E Sport Athletes” Taken from the article: Hardcore games, ubiquitous tech, and Asia’s economic rise helped the PC trounce consoles to become the dominant pro gaming platform.
Racism ? really ? As I said I have nothing gainst asiatic people, and actually asiatic doesn’t mean anything, since they are a lot of different countries/cultures in Asia.
I know how good they are at e-sport, and as I said they are as smart as NA/EU people (and as nice too, maybe more). But it has been said officialy that most of theses changes are designed for China market.I don’t think it’s racism to say that people around the world have different cultures. Some people likes to eat insects, some people prefers to eat cats or dogs, some people prefer to eat cow or chicken, and personnaly, last week i ate frogs. Who is wrong, who is right ? No one, we have all ours ways, and it’s fine. But if someone start to put insects in my daily salad, I will not like, but I can understand some people will. If I want to eat the same salad everyday, I will have to learn a different cultures, and be used to it. Or I could eat another salad, it’s up to me. But I don’t think there is anything racist in my salad…
The major complaint of the new leveling system is the dumbing down aspect of it. And you mentioned in your post that this was done for the Asian based players. It’s not hard to come to the conclusion given taking these two ideas. If I didn’t correctly understand your original post, then my apologies.
Well English is not my primary language so I should probably apologize to not being very intelligible due to my poor english skills.
I think what we may percieve as “dumbing down” could be perceived differently in a different culture. The question is will NA/EU players accept to change their culture to adapt to this new version of gw2 ?

I’ve actually commented on this more than once, but recently:

Attempting to track people manually isn’t effective. If we suspect it’s getting unwieldy we have a numbers of options to make insider traders (and them only) lose large quantities of money. We’ve done this before to destabilize insider trading as an idea and will likely do it again."I do not consider it insider trading once the information is released to the public in any form.

So anything we found on Dulfy or Youtube should be considered as official communicaiton from Anet ?
Are you really paid for your job ? And your boss is aware of that ?
Hi everyone,
The article about profession system only presented the idea behind this system and we generally don’t give precise details about these systems unless these details are needed to understand the idea. In this case we can’t share details but we want to reassure players that they’re not going to see changes in loot so visible that some components are going to “rain” or they’ll stop seeing loot variety. It’s more complex than that.
“We can’t tell anything, but you will be happy”.
Ok i get it.
The adjustments to the loot system are fairly subtle and the goals are that, after a certain time, your characters will effectively have more components you can use. So it may take some time for you to see a difference, or not, but it’s not going to feel like a very visible change each time you loot a mob. We want players, in particular new ones or those creating alts, to more often be able to use the items they loot directly or get something that is relevant to their profession. It does not mean that you’ll get less varied loot overall.
A subttle change may not affect my loot in a dramatic way, but this subtle change applied to every players may have some huge impact on price at TP… Let me guess, “everything works as intended” ?
We’ll keep monitoring the changes to kitten its affects.
Please, do me a favor, print this sentence and pin it over your developpers desk. That may help them decide what they need to do.
Thanks for your early feedback!
Yes it’s too early for a feedback, but when the changes are IG, it’s usually too late….
