I checked, and all the recipes leading up to this work. But this one doesn’t seem to have anything as a fourth ingredient.
Still can’t figure this out. The recipe just won’t accept Luminous Dust, and I can’t find what it was changed to.
Is it Soulbound?

According to the Wiki, to promote Cured Coarse Leather Squares into Cured Rugged Leather Squares, you need 250 Coarse, 1 Rugged, 5 Pile of Luminous Dust, and 6 Philosopher’s Stone. But according to the game, Luminous Dust isn’t registering as part of the recipe.
I’ve tried everything, from putting in the exact amounts, to shuffling the order of the items, and nothing worked. I can’t find another recipe, and changing to other Dusts had no effect. Was is disabled or removed for some reason, or is this just a really dumb bug?
I’m finding the active doesn’t last long enough to take advantage of. Even changing it to 8 or 10 seconds would make it so much better.
The easiest way to nullify the value of new ones is to make them Account Bound. That way, more people get a shot at obtaining them, but once the event is over, the original ones won’t drop down to nothing, since there will still be a demand from another group who couldn’t hop on early.
Have they announced when Pack 1 will be leaving the Gem Shop?
The jumping puzzle rewards are still pretty piddly. You get more bloodstone dust for doing one loop around Queensdale for champ boxes, and you can’t say those events are difficult.
yeah…
Also for some reason, half of the HARDER jump puzz’s I’m doing, their chests aren’t giving anything at all. I don’t know if that’s intentional but it’s pretty lame. The one behind Hope Falls (malchors) … Griffon Run after getting to it with the Bomb … Goem’s Lab, Dierdre’s Steps … etc. All examples. It seems like “Exploring” puzzles give more. (where you fight stuff more than Jump)
It’s because the ascended material only drops for level 80 characters.
As long as it has the right name and is Legendary, it should update with everything else.
I am genuinely surprised that they decided against account birthday gifts instead of characters, especially when the gifts are next to useless on multiple characters.
Adding merits to the cost of Commander Tags wouldn’t increase the effort needed to obtain it. 100g is easy to get, and Merits are easy to get. Combining them doesn’t make it any harder.
The best way to increase the “cost” of Commander Tags would be experience involved, either at purchase, with a high WvW level, or after purchase, with a leveling system unlocking perks.
But the core problem is that Commanders have no real ability to command their troops. All they have is a tag on their head, which adds superficial authority. Some commanders are great, but they shouldn’t have to prove their worth to every single player, especially when some players are just dissenting kittens no matter what you do, publicly questioning decisions. Add that another Commander can hop on at anytime to undermine your authority, stealing troops from your efforts, or arguing, and you start to lose incentives to even try.
What they need is to give more power to the Commanders, such as the ability to silence troublesome voices (vote silencing is badly needed), or giving a bonus to those around them. Even something simple like Siegerazer’s Vitality boost would drastically change the battlefield, rewarding organization and teamwork, increasing the worth of Commanders. Authority would still be an issue, but at least players would understand working together to be a bonus. (So many players hop onto WvW, solo themselves to death, then complain that WvW sucks.)
Since more Commanders are being created every day, it’s slowing becoming meaningless to have a Commander tag. There isn’t a reason to follow a specific Commander until they prove their worth to you, which takes hours. If your World wins, there isn’t anything telling you who lead the charge, increasing the authority of all Commanders instead of the ones that deserve it. I’d suggest a leaderboard for Commanders, tracking their efforts (outposts stolen, defend, player kills), that they can use as evidence that they know what they are doing, so that players are following directions from experienced players instead of who ever has a tag on at the time. Refresh it every week, and give the Commanders an incentive to lead players and excel at WvW for bragging rights, while reducing the authority of fair weather leaders.
I don’t care that I rarely get exotic drops, because you are guaranteed a lot of rarer items just from Guild Missions. Most of them salvage into ecto, or sell for more, in addition to getting advancements in the game (ascended).

When you buy stacks from the post to salvage for a profit, you save a lot of clicking. Instead of having to click on a new kit every couple of seconds, you can just keep going. It’s just a bonus that you’re saving half a copper each salvage.
Most players already know it won’t pay itself off for a while, but neither will the unlimited gathering items. The convenience is the real draw.
I recently lent 40g to another player to help them buy a Legendary, but I didn’t right down who it was. They were in the guild Gate of Madness, and I sent them mail containing the gold, but haven’t been able to locate them. Is it possible to figure it out?
I just tried buying two Instant repair canisters, and neither of them came in the mail. What the hell is going on? I’m four gold down because I wanted to continue the fractal. Is this a “wait it out” bug, or am I kitten out of luck?
I recently spent the last month saving up for an ascended ring, buying another Khilbron’s Phylactery, only to realize what Unique meant, something that was completely irrelevant to everything I have done up to this point. Now I am stuck with an item that I virtually have no use for, and am out an entire month of effort. Is the only solution to dredge through Dailies and Monthlies as punishment for the mistake, or is there someway to fix it?
Since Flame and Frost was a one time thing, many future players will miss out on it, and some current players didn’t have time to do it all. They probably won’t bring the content back, but there are a couple of ways they could, without causing problems to the story line, or having to add the content permanently.
My favorite solution so far would be a server that falls behind the rest, releasing the content again, but later. They could easily release the entire Flame and Frost campaign for a limited time on such a server, allowing new and old players to enjoy the content.
It would make doing seasonal events interesting. They could host the previous years Halloween event, while still releasing completely new content for the new events. Players who might have found certain aspects difficult (Clock Tower) will get another chance to try it, and it gives the developers a chance to fix any problems that persisted the first time.
The Guardian Trainer in Ebonhawke has a woman’s voice, even thought it’s a male NPC. Either the NPC didn’t load right, or the voice didn’t load right.
It always seems to be character specific. For the Human storyline, all of Logan’s audio just disappeared after the recent patch. I wonder what they tried to add?
