Can we get some information on when the next raid will drop? You have spoken about episode 4, you have said legendary armour may release around the time ep5 launches, but that still leaves the raid community wondering is legendary armour holding the next raid back as long as that, or will it drop sooner?
I think I can speak for the majority of the raid community when I say we wouldn’t want the legendary armour to hold back the release of the next raid when it’s ready, it’s been nearly 8 months since wing 3 released.
Just some indication would be nice because since the AMA you have been very quiet regarding raids.
Assuming that you use the added fractal relics from boss chests to be optimal and buy Large Mists Potions for T4 fractals and only really considered the 225 from pristine fractal relic conversions, it would take approximately 2.5 months.
You could probably shave half a month off or more if you never used your chest relics to buy potions.
225 * 80 Days = 18,000 relics
A combo I used way back in Guild Wars 1 on my ranger, I always loved how Glacial Gauntlets paired with the Storm Bow.
Condi Warrior feels complete, Thanks for fixing that bug with Koollan Joohan-son it was the only achievement I needed.
Also, this forest is the most beautiful part of the game, next to raids because I love the white mantle and and the forsaken thicket just looks awesome too.
Say hello to 2x chrono 2x druid 2x ps 2x reaper 2x tempest for most bosses

The most fantastic elements of GW2 are definitely the visual and audible design aspects of the game. Artwork, ambiance, music, animations, lighting and visual effects really bring this game to life considering it is DX9.
I would also like to mention the Customer Service Support and Forum Moderators are amazing compared to the majority of other games, MMO or otherwise.
Currently there are two major issues with Raids that will not be addressed until all 3 wings are available to play.
1. Raid on farm
I have two guilds I run with for raids, both are capable of clearing the 3 bosses within approximately 1 hour 20 minutes and as we improve together it is likely to decrease in time slightly more. This means the night we choose to complete it, whether it be Monday or Tuesday, leaves us very little “Endgame content” to do the rest of the week, but leaves us with a void of shards that we have to go with other players to reach the shard cap, as there is currently no way to reset a boss to fight it again if all 10 members of your core raid group have completed every boss.
Suggested improvements:
a) Hard Mode (Challenge Mode as it’s called in GW2). Hard Mode in GW1 added an extra element of fun and concentrated gameplay, yes, of course eventually even Hard Mode would be on farm, but it should be balanced around best-in-stat, with increased boss HP and damage (Such as green circle will cause a raid wipe instantly, as world eater does, only 3 updrafts on Gorseval, double cannon spawns on Sabetha)
i.e. Hard Mode should not be forgiving at all. 1 mistake, and it’s reset. A Hard Mode clear would also take you beyond Easy Mode shard cap of 100 and increase the cap to 150 or even 200. The above were just simple examples, a raid team should be able to think of better ideas to make the raid harder, introducing new mechanics for example, randomization of the current mechanics so there is a harder pattern to distinguish etc.
b) Eternal clear, even after the title an eternal clear should be rewarding, such as double shard drops on Sabetha (VG would still give 8, Gorseval could be increased to give 15, and sabetha 30 if all 3 bosses were killed in that week with everyone alive at boss death)
In addition to this, if the whole wing is cleared without a single wipe/fail, it should instantly cap the Easy Mode shard level (100), i’ll get more onto shards in my next point later.
c) There is currently NO incentive to help other players finish the raid once all bosses are down and the shard cap is reached. Something needs to be introduced that allows the raid to be played
2. Magnetite Shards
There are alot of topics about this, so I will just list what i’d like to see
Shard cap should be reached instantly if your party completes all 3 bosses without failure. (Sabetha kill would reward the remainder of the cap)
If the above isn’t achieved, then if all 3 bosses are killed the normal “Eternal way” which allows for failure but on success everyone has to be alive, then the bosses should drop extra shards like, 10 / 15 / 30 with 3 / 3 / 3 dropped on the “Trash” events for a total of 64 shards. As this would have had raid wipes, then you would be in the range of maybe 70-80 shards (if failure was below 33% health etc) so it wouldn’t take too much effort to max the cap .
The better you do, the better the rewards should be. Constant wipes and not killing the boss with everyone alive would be as it stands today, 8 / 8 / 15 shards.
Just to clarify, the Hard Mode option should be there as an extra level of difficulty for organised groups that will find the encounter, and rewards, trivial. The current level of difficulty as it stands is a good direction for the game for the majority of players.
I’m sure high-tier players would welcome a “Hard Mode” option, whilst not affecting players who choose to remain to play the raid as it is currently, except for an increased shard cap and a higher percentage of decent loot from chests.
I just want to say though, that the raid is currently my favorite part of the game and they are fun – I want the fun to continue but with the slow release of wings we need something to ensure they don’t become trivial .
TL;DR : Organised groups have Spirit Vale on farm, introduce Hard Mode with more mechanics, more punishing on fail, increased % on ascended loot tables and an increased shard cap on HM with better shard drops for better gameplay.

You have to consider the mechanics that VG will pop Gorseval into an invulnerable state at 66% health, so if the first circle does 90% of health pool, we have to assume that Gorseval will be at 66% and phase.
Can the VG red seekers and the green circle kill the spirits in time before they get to Gorseval instantly using World eater? (If this happened, we then need to assume that it causes the VG to go to split phase) and so on …
So who wins?
So whilst we were waiting for some of our raid group to get together for Gorseval, we got on to the topic of teleporting the VG into the arena of Gorseval to beat him for us.
So who do you think would win, Vale Guardian or Gorseval?
Some argued that the VG would win as lightning strikes come alot quicker than World Eater, and Gorseval has no boonstrip.
Some said that the 4 spirits he spawns can run into the circles and then use his World eater skill to win
so, who would win in your opinion
Some main points
- I run full ascended on my Herald, but that doesn’t matter, there were many people in our group without ascended armor and some even without ascended weapons and we had a time of 1:11 left.
So a shout out to the “Gear check elitists” in other topics of this sub-forum the reason you’re not doing it in time is because the movement is poor. “Best in stat” doesn’t matter if you’re all dead because you failed to move the boss or get to a lightning circle on time.
Full ascended and bloodlust stacks from the raptors – sure, this is probably the people you see with 3 minutes left on the clock that want to speed clear, but for now let’s focus on helping groups actually kill it and have fun.
Positioning:
Your tank will run in and take agro, whilst the other 9 players wait OUTSIDE the arena. The tank does NOT strike the boss, the boss will follow and use the TP skill on ONLY the tank, meaning no one can get teleported.
Once the boss is chasing the tank, the other 9 run to the mushroom at the blue pillar, when the tank has secured the boss facing away from the raid you may attack and the timer will begin, with the first green circle and seekers and the next teleport attack to come pretty much straight after you engage.
My Herald guide to the VG
As for damage, 2 Heralds (and a PS warrior) = permanent 25 might and fury.
During phase 1, both heralds want to start in Glint and pop all facets except the elite to give party wide might and fury. As soon as the timer begins, swap to shiro > impossible odds. At this point you should be hugging the mushroom at the blue pillar with the bosses back in front of you, standing here you can simply back peddle when the blue spawns beneath your feet. You have 2 seconds to back peddle, you should still be in melee range whilst back peddle so you do not stop damaging him.
When IO runs out, you will have 1 second approx until Glint is ready, pop the healing dagger skill prior to changing to glint for extra DPS. Pop all facets except elite, by this time the teleport attack should about be ready to drop under your feet again. Heralds should be using Sword 3 (evade frames) to do max DPS (only when in GLINT) on the boss whilst other professions may have to dodge or backpeddle. Axe 4 also has evade frames but it is not as long lasting and if you time it wrong, you’re kittened. Remember only use sword 3 when in glint, as in shiro you always want to be using IO for the maximum time possible for your 50% energy, which is why we don’t pop the healing skill till after IO is complete prior to being able to switch back to glint.
Repeat the above process until the boss is at 66%.
The herald will either then be at BLUE or GREEN (decided by your group). Start in glint to give your split buffs, swap to shiro > IO > healing dagger > Glint > Swap to STAFkittentaff 5 (almost instant CC) > Swap to SWORD/AXE (all 3 should die at the same time)
If you are at BLUE and green needs help, move to green.
If the CC is high in your group, you want to maintain the same DPS rotation as in phase 1 without using staff at all. If your group needs extra CC, swap back to staff when the boss is on the edge of the green segment and has his breakbar up. It is important during Phase 3 that he is broken within 3-4 seconds, but it is good practice for phase 5 to instant-break the bar.
Keep your DPS rotation and swap to staff when necessary for CC
Phase 4 is the same as Phase 2, run to your split segment
Phase 5, 1 Herald (for safety) should permanently be in GLINT and permanently have STAFF. Instead of your standard facet pop, you only pop facet of chaos (for protection) and you will always be using staff 5 for CC. It is also good for this person (which was me) to call out when the tank should move to the next segment to ensure that the green circle always spawns where you want it. The second herald should mantain there DPS rotation unless the group absolutely needs raid wide protection.

Another tip, whilst not at a necessary, you can get 25 stacks of bloodlust from pocket raptors to the right of Vale guardian if you want more DPS. Our phase 1 was done by 6:45 in our win, with bloodlust I expect it can be done in under 1 minute. The more time you have at phase 5 the less pressure you feel allowing you to focus and make less mistakes
We made a few changes in phase 5, phase 1 to 4 always had near perfect communication and movement which became a problem in phase 5.
In the failed attempts the boss was simply not moved quick enough causing green to spawn on a little section. So:
The most important change was when we assigned someone to call when to move the boss, this would sometimes be 4 seconds before section change as it is easier to survive and it ensures green will spawn in a newly unlit segment.
I permanently ran facet of chaos and staff so we had protections and cc was always ready to be instant.
We had decided also that if green spawns in lit, we would stack on the unlit and pop protections / heal instead of chasing it, but with the massively improved movement of the boss we didn’t need to do this and no one downed in phase 5.
Everyone did a brilliant job. The key is communication and movement, having the right DPS is the easy part
Today a group that was formed in LFG recently has finally beaten the Vale Guardian and we had 1:11 left on the clock

It was a really nice run in the end after many failed attempts, but we stuck together and it was amazing with everyone screaming in TS when it finally died. The attempt before hand we had it at 1% health and we all wiped so we was really on edge for the entire encounter.
This is definitely the most fun I have had in GW2 since release

So after daily reset it killed that dumb health sponge again, and finally it updated bo. Got my machined staff finished too so I just need another 2 mil xp for stealth gliding and I’m done.
Unfortunately I have 4 active but I want it for bo as it’s almost complete
It seems that the game doesn’t utilise VRAM, maybe they should increase the graphics card requirement of the game similar to GTA V on pc in that you need a minimum of 4gb VRAM to run it on highest settings without issues
I run with a meta zerk thief and the only problem I encounter is when I run out of dodge for 5+ modrem snipers in Dragons Stand, or 1 champion sniper because that 1 shots me if I’m not paying attention
My healing comes from crits and Signet of Malice.
Maybe you should take the healing skill that negates all damage into HP (I forget it’s name haven’t played warrior since the last wvw season), take endure pain and run full zerk with great sword and take a rifle or a bow for ranged

I am unsure if it is intended to work in the following way, but I am close to unlocking Bo and I need the Spore.
So I killed 2 Treasure Mushrooms yesterday, each time being rewarded a Spore. The first time it updated wild abandon, I thought maybe a bug because my inventory was full on aquire.
So I killed the one in auric basin, got another Spore, updated the collect for the tempest horn (I forgot it’s name) yet Bo, what I am the closest to acquiring (just need the Spore, a machined staff and stealth gliding ) still says to get a Spore.
Do i have to keep killing these poor mushrooms or is it a bug?
Thanks
Salvage it. The skin is what you wanted right? Just use transmutation on your heavy classes
I agree, I have twilight and the precursor skins auto unlock so we should also auto unlock the achievement as making another twilight is out of the question
Nerfs / buffs to a class traits or skills solely to balance it in PvP should be kept in PvP and not affect PvE
It took you 5 years in Guild Wars 1 to alter how skills act in PvP and PvE seperately, please don’t take 5 years to add the same functionality again. Some nerfs while required in PvP have no place in PvE and vice versa. I find some classes such as the ranger / druid are not viable to play in PvE as other classes can heal and dps or stay alive much better.
The following topics is going to contain Story and Dragons Stand spoilers, so don’t read on if your not this far.
Ok so alot don’t realise and I see many people ingame ask why we don’t fight a dragon but a corrupted drake in the last instance. The key here is to pay attention to the story, but the delivery of the final story instance and the surprise waiting at the end of open world Dragons Stand is not clear, as the instance begins at pact camp at the start.
In the instance you hear “The battle outside” but unless you have experienced it you are none the wiser to:
Acatually fighting a colossal sized mouth of modremoth at the end of DS in the real world.
I have to say the open world dragon is a very nice touch indeed and is probably the most epic open world encounter in guild wars. As a GW1 player you really have brought me back into immersion of something that feels epic.
But…
Oh, the story. The mind of mord in the dream. kitten kitten kitten I nearly tossed my pc out the window. Getting that beast to 25% health for it to nail you out the sky and kill you go kitten it. I only experience 1 rift bug, so I’ve not much to complain except that as a daredevil with signet of malice and invigorating precision, I was able to run under his legs permanent auto attack without losing much health as my hp gain was to much.
When I did beat him by avoiding them stones in flight mode, my client restarted due to a patch. Once again I was ready to flip but I got my rewards so happy about that.
Up to story step 15 is an amazing journey. The last encounter feels a bit lackluster with champiom modremoth snipers being a more challenging enemy that you actually have to dodge. Atleast we have real world mord which like I say, is my favourite encounter yet.
Though it needs to be said, poor co ordination in the 3 champions leading to that event means I’ve only had the chance to fight the mouth of modremoth once.
TLDR: final chapter feels bugged, rushed and lackluster easy soloable on a DD zerk thief (staff p/p) using signet of malice and invigorating precision
Mouth of modremoth which you fight in the real world is huge, epic and very fun. But you will never see it without full map co-ordination
Straight to 80 and then L2P

I don’t see getting the whole Mistward armor at the start no matter what.
From what the BWEs had, we’ll likely get to choose from 3 different head bands then have to wear plebeian armor until we can “find” the Mistward armor either through Masteries or some other mechanic.
I was wrong – I saw in another thread a DEV confirm that the Mistward armor will be unlocked through the collectibles mechanic – I agree that the headpiece / band will be available just as with other professions.
For all we know, the Mistward armor could be the Legendary Heavy Armor and not everyone will be able to get it.
THAT would kitten suck!
That would suck as the armor doesn’t look all that great to be classed as “Legendary”, rather the armor seen in the beta weekends is probably the “Starter” armor for that class, just as every other class has “unique” starter armor options when you first create the character (usually only the headpiece) but this time probably full set of “unique” starter armor if you get what I mean.
It has now been 36 hours since i was last able to buy gems… If this is some sort of security feature it should not prevent you from purchases for longer than a 24 hour period. Nothing back from support, I have to come to the conclusion that your customer support doesn’t work during the weekend (Possibly what I would say is the busiest time for issues)
:( All I want to do is give you more money

Still haven’t had a reply and really want to buy the gems. Have not had a problem buying gems in the past so why all of a sudden is it saying card approval failed!
Thanks
Hello,
I am trying to purchase a large amount of gems on the gemstore with a saved card. Until last night (This was not during your said maintanence), I was able to purchase gems without an issue, the most I have bought at any one time was 1600, and the least 800, and bought alot duirng halloween and during release.
Last night I tried to buy the 4000 gems for £42.50, and I got an error message, Card Approval Failed, if you want to purchase more gems you will need to verify your account.
I then tried a smaller amount, and managed to buy 1600 for £17.00. Since that last transaction, I have been unable to buy any further gems from the gem store. I have tried all amounts (800, 1600 etc…) and get the following error message:
Card Approval failed. Please check your card details and if you continue to get this message contact support.
My email address and GW2 account is verified. Why can I no longer purchase gems!
I have enough funds in my bank account. The bank is NOT declining the payment. I have tried other cards and get the same error message, so something on your end or my account is preventing me from purchasing more gems. I want to buy alot more gems, and would like this to be rectified as soon as possible.
I have submitted a ticket, but I have the money and want to spend it now. I don’t want to have to wait for 3-5 days whilst it is processed when it is probably something extremely simple that is preventing me from buying gems.
Please help.
