Edit: My missing one was the Forsaken Fortune mini dungeon, got my shiverpeaks done, forsaken fortune and the kite on top of that, nice bunch of achievements done in one go.

we dont need them all, but i really like that i have choices now, so i can fit my character the way i want, so give us more of everything, the game starting to shine abit more with these back pieces and even more when we get some armour as well.

I have a bit of a different perspective on this. I have owned and operated a private business of about 15 years and I look at this, and similar issues, through a decidedly business filter. In my mind, what happened is that customers received something for which they had not directly paid…and it was given as a surprise. When I make a purchase decision regarding gems…or anything else…I use the basic economic principles of utility and cost. I determine how much I want or need something and then determine whether the asking price is worth it for me. When I purchase gems, it is because there is something in the gem store that I think is worth my money (typically extra bank slots, bag slots or character slots). The deal is consummated…I get what I want…they get what they wanted…deal done. But now, I get something extra as a surprise “thank you.” It has no strings attached…no conditions. Just a simple “thank you.” Maybe they planned it all along…maybe not. But…the minute that they tell you in advance, it is no longer a free thank you gift but rather another incentive to get you to spend money. Kind of a like a “but three and get one free” deal.
A surprise thank you gift seems thoughtful to me. I take the gift in the spirit in which I believe it was offered. Had they given me advance warning and told me that if I purchased X amount of gems I would get a free kite, it would not really seem like a free kite to me…but rather a part of the packaging of the deal – gems plus a kite for Y dollars. Both are legitimate marketing tactics but I am less likely to tumble on to the package deal than to buy what I want “straight up” and be pleasantly surprised by a free gift after the fact.
All that said, though, I am not sure what either tactic has to do with trust. They did not cheat us out of anything. They did not falsely represent what they were selling…or the price. No bait and switch that I can see. The only thing I can discern is they decided to give out a gift without prior “warning.” While others may well look on this warily, it does not seem like a trust issue to me.

Here, let me do a little comparison between necro and thief:
Necro
-A ton of powerful AoE abilities that are easy to hit a thief through stealth with
-Highest health pool in game
-DS: A form in which you have access to massive ranged and AoE burst abilities as well as being temporarily invulnerable to damage to your normal health pool
-Condition cleansing: A heal that removes all condis, Staff #4, Plague signet, a well that flips condis to boons
-Conditions: Access to every condition in the game other than confusion on low cool down skills that already do decent direct damage.Thief:
-Almost no AoE
-Lowest health pool in the game
-Stealing: Gap closer with decent special attack
-Condition cleansing: Stealth, 1 every 3 seconds.
-Conditions: Other than venoms, thief conditions are mostly either blinds or bleeding, blind fields are small and easy to avoid, bleeds are easy to wipe.If you are losing to a thief in 1v1 situations on a necro, you need to reexamine your build.
I’ve spent twice as much time on my necro as my thief, but when I hear people actually complaining about thief I find it ridiculous. SO WHAT if the class can ‘run away’, if a thief runs away that means you were beating him, obviously. It’s the freaking assassin/rogue class of GW2, that means it should be more mobile than the other classes.
Necromancer’s burst is out of control right now. Unlike thief, it requires absolutely no positioning or special conditions (like heartseeker needing 50% health to be effective). A necromancer with life force can wait for a thief to strike, hit DS 3 and then hit DS 1 for a -7K- hit and the thief is already at half health (or below if burning/terror damage is part of the build). Even if a thief manages to stealth his way up to a necromancer and hit him for a 10k backstab (highly improbably), that’s a smaller percentage of the necro’s health than what I just described the necro being able to do.
It doesnt help to list up everything that makes a Necro powerful with an imaginary build and then short it all down to DS with hyped up numbers. IF you play a Necro as much as you claim to do you should know that what you are saying is not possible what so ever.
It’s sad that everything comes down to theory numbers, this destroy the classes one by one by nerfs. Thief, mesmer, ranger x 2, elementalist. They all got booted several times by now. Finally the Necro got some juice and people pops up and proceed the theory number nerf support.

So much screaming for OP cause of burning. It says it right there at the patch notes “BURNING”, so go figure out how to clence yourself..
So many indirectly says by their panic screams of OPness, “I was totally taken by surprise cause a Necro actually could kill me, and he did it fast even”.

Great game, horrible storyline.
The personal story should just be tossed out entirely. It makes the game look bad. In fact, just disable Arah Story Mode until the final boss fight is redone entirely.
I wanted to get close and personal with ZHaitan, but all I got was a big chicken!
I agree on the story line wasn’t good but the Zhaitan dragon was not one of them, I really liked the looks of him, the fact that last part stumbled to me was all the inserts of in game “movies” then a few still art images, then back to some in game npc talking then repeated even more of the same, I got the story but it still was a mess to me.
Also a hero do his own work, he dont just shoot with cannons to kill the superior main boss, instead of an epic fight we get a few mini bosses as side events that felt really detatched by the story.

nope, he’s not dead, live and kicking but struggling, he’s fun to play but as you say if you have a smart oponent you will get in deep trouble, those buffs was most needed thou and thats why its fun to me right now.
..so fun that i gave him my first legendary last night, Incinerator.
So I kill the mobs on ship number 2, checked the ship, there is one below on the deck, he is GREEN… nothing happends…and the event “Clear the second dead ship of risen” wont proceed at all….
Well, I don’t belive Anet will give the awesomeness so I think the DS #5 will have an aweful long cd, so a theif can just spec correct for cleancing by using stealth and get back into business as usual.

Yes this whole RNG situation is getting old. Each patch its the same story : minimal content added as reward for in-game activities – maximizing the grind of said activities to get the meager reward, and lots of cool stuff (i.e the “reward content” that most MMOs add as goals for doing their new game activities or increasing interest in underutilized ones) just crapped onto the store. And not directly obtainable but walled behind gambling mechanics. Don’t get me started on the “limited time” bullkitten. ANET is skating on some thin ice here.

I’m sorry if adding multiple hours of content every 2 weeks is minimal for you, but it is by far the fastest in the industry.
I’m not sure what you want reward wise… we have gotten many achievements, titles and new skins all as part of the ingame rewards. The only thing added to the gem shop has been minis and weapon skins, not exactly game breaking or more substantial.
Limited time is for some of the content, it leaves behind events and additions to the world, but it is meant for people to keep coming back. You aren’t paying a sub so I fail to see how this is an issue. It literally costs you nothing to come back whenever you desire to experience the new content.
Sure, pretend everything as should be with a straight face, you as everyone else know the gamble/gems aviable only items are plain wrong, sooner or later we all are tired of the trickstery

I’m just a medi core necro, and its still abit off topic as its for pvp-wvw, but still, ppl are talking about condition removal is so easy for any profession, but i cant help thinking that this type of necro build/spec is incredible annoying to anyone, you remove the conditions…and man..you just got them back on you, in fact almost all the hits are filled with conditions, only DS is not. Tell me what profession have that type of ability to remove it all, all the time?
The mission was created, one boss was killed, the other boss wouldnt execute (as he gives only the normal reply option without a bounty activated.)

What could have bin really fun is become extremly bad, i recon 30-40 Piken has our Gandara keep, we at Gandara about 10 or 15% less players, still it should have bin fun fighting doing great tactic etc…..its all ruined by the lag that is so bad, im actually screaming to my comp for my skills to execute, nothing works in the heat of the moment. Shame that Anet cant keep servers for joyments, lagfest ruin it all.
Props to Piken for great tactic, you are truly a opponent to fight.

I guess you guys missed the threat, where anet gave a statement about it being a misunderstanding. They made that statement shortly after that rumor came up.
so..hmm, why haven’t the classes got their fix and balance done since launch? things are done incredible slowly, like almost nothing…or getting worse, did they say how many they actualy have? 1 not 2?
This was kinda my same feelings after leveling my Necro as my first character. Then I jumped on a Ranger and a Thief up to lvl80. After that the Mesmer and the Elementalist up to about lvl 50 on both. Kinda got bored and headed back to Necro and he feels much more fun to play, to see cons and pros at other professions helps alot.
Necro isnt that bad after all.

Bad change indeed, a few that praise the hard mode, while pugs are not worth it anymore, loot has RNG that gives it a final blow…
RNG force you to stop the grinding, the grinding dont go away (you still need alot of everything to complete anything in this game) but it force you to stop it as a time staller, makes sence right? Funny enough buying gems fix it like a bypass, Anet is happy as ever.
Anet make so called nerf changes several times and confuse players way to much, its like they change their own rules to the game back and forth all the time.
WE are so tired and frustrated of this Anet, please stop it!

May you add your armour, spec etc? I’m having a hard time parting from my longbow, i just love the range attack and the extreme kb it gives. The drawback is the melee fights, it’s become a WvWvW theif battlefield and we all hate loosing those 1vs1…

This is every players nightmare, the reports starting to pop up around about items just vanishing, I don’t know what I would have done if a legendary or a fractial item just poff’ed away with no evidence the item existed or details around why it dissapeared in the first place…also theres the mystic mail bug that sends your mails to random ppl…extremely bad bugs and game breaking…
….better screen shot everything that has a value at least..thou thats not really an evidence for you not deleting or selling it but lost it.

So, I double tap as dogde two times, if I do this the third time my character just stand still, I have to release my double tap button and press again to start walking/running.
It happends alot in W3 when its chaos at times and you dont notice that youre not able to dodge anymore.

Drop rate is plain aweful, it wasnt, but they changed it that way. Champs with no loots or at best some greens..no point in doing that anymore, for nay sayers, one of the fun factors in all games are to be rewarded.
Grind or no grind, all hard to get items in this game involves grinding, the grind is only to be done by fraction runs or a few dungeons.
All aspect in earning money are effectivly removed, they nerf it all the time, so we are forced to buy gems with no other effort than using real cash.
World gameplay is removed, we are lfg fraction x and buying some gems to get our gold and thats it.
RNG system has very low chance of giving you what you need. So if you infact did grind for a very long time and finally get something worth a few, you can bet you just subtract it all to nothing using the mystic well. Gamble system that wins over you time after time are not fun.
Balance between classes are needed, as long we have some sort of pvp we need it no matter what people think or say.
Elementalist, Engineer and Ranger the worst, then Necromancer, Mesmer in the middle, and at top Warrior and Thief wich stomp the most with less efforts. I ignore this as best i can but getting killed by thieves in a matter of seconds knowing it is a class balance issue is rather annoying.Anet don’t focus enouf on the ‘FUN’ factor, it is way to many cons to actualy feel happy when playing as a average player. The game started out pretty well, after that they have removed or done changes that hurts the main reason to play.

That might be your opinion (and sorry if I’m misreading your post, because it sounds like you’re trying to speak for the majority), but I’m not alone when I say that I’m still finding a lot of fun things to do in game.

People seemed to miss this part of the notes.
Thief
Thieves are the masters of mobility, stealth and high single target damage. They can be very fragile if you counter their stealth with area of effects or large stacks of conditions, but they trade this fragility in order to have some of the highest burst damage in the game. They are able to help allies through traps, venoms and the mobility to flank most encounters.
No one missed it, they are that already.
Problem is that they got 50% increased movement in stealth. They didn’t needed it and WvWvW will hurt badly for it. Even more thieves and less of the other ‘weak’ professions, it’s not what the players want.
I loved both Ghost of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny, when will the third be released?
..hopefully it will even be more books out in the future :-)

The Heart doesn’t appear on map or load at all. Also event quest in same location, gathering metal armour for the npc called Rani is bugged. (Metal armour isn’t highlighted/active to collect)
I’ve checked back for over a week but it is the same everytime I do.
Please fix this.
i had 6 lvl73-ish exotics that i gain during leveling rewards that i had no use for, it gave me stacks of 10’s tokens, placed three exotics and one donation packaging that gave 11 and 12 stacks, i now have like 1168 captains council commandation tokens.
Edit: the stacks where Crates of Commandations and one has 50 capt. counc. comm.
..so just buy the cheapest excotic’s and you have your commandations cheap and easy

This, every class apart from Ranger has been slowly improved, while the weakest from release was slowly getting worse. I had high hopes for this patch because for once, they actually where open with us and it becomes into a nerf instead. Good grief.

Every class has been getting hit in some way lately.
We just were the worst off to start and had quite literally nothing buffed.(read the patch notes… tank eles got hit hard, mesmer phantasms got hit, theif S/D got hit HARD, bunker guards got a few bugs fixed (nerfs) and protection nerfed… just off the top of my head)

Rangers has not gotten their fix at all, but there has bin nerfs and dissadvantage bug fixes for almost all the other proffessions. Why Anet advertise huge improvements on Ranger and fail to give anything is another matter.
Also, the underwater fix, it seems this was planned already for all proffessions, so I understand why we got it as well. The pain here is that Anet seems to have the wrong focus on what to take care of first. Warrior gets more and more buffs improvements, good for them, but they didnt needed it now, they are not frustrated, Rangers however needs ALOT of re-doings, fixes and bug removals and received nothing of importains.
This will be the greatest threat to this game, the common frustration will increase alot from now on, it makes me sad, cause the forum seems to become a fighting arena with no winners at all.
I feel you Gryph, I lost interest a couple of months ago for the same reasons, now its abit fun to me thanks to Zintair.
However, instead I was leveling the Ranger.. then it got nerfed when still having about as much bugs and non working abilities as the Necromancer.
Not gonna be a doomsayer, but ANet needs to fix all the proffesions or the game will loose interest for all of us. Thiefs, Warriors, Guardians and Mesmers… checking their forum tabs and theres mostly a whole different discussion than in here and for the Rangers.
