I admit it’s pretty hard to master, but Deadeye is a lot of fun, especially because of its unique playstyle. It’s all about positioning. I even already managed to 1v1 many players once I figured how it all works.

imo using utility for “pure” swaping isn’t great idea, unless it also does something else, bcs it’ll take the space which could be used for something better for event that may or may not happen(need to quickly use 4th or 5th skill). This should be adressed in core mechanics, not as an option which you can take

I don’t think it should be adressed, you just need to learn how to play with that. Weaver looks very different from core ele/tempest… so don’t think about weaver like you think about these two. On the other side, we got tons of new skills, really strong traits, cool utilities, and long requested sword… I’m happy

Fire/air -(swaping to fire)->fire/fire -(swaping to water)-> water/fire -(swaping to air)-> air/water
I think it works this way, when you attune to some element, you get your 1-2 skills changed and the previous dominant element (1-2 skill) moves to the place of minor element (4-5 skills)

Also during WP stream I saw an utility skill that allows you, for a limited time, to swap whole (pure) elements, like core ele (so if you want that waterfield so fast… )

EDIT: I got your question wrong, I think you will end up in air/fire, as the previous dominant element (fire) moves to the place of minor one

I agree it looks more cool when dual wielded!
Well I prefer dual sword rev (that’s the one on that pic) over dual sword war. Mainly because I prefer rev overall and his sword skills are more fun to use (for me at least). Also warrior swords are condi and I don’t have gear for that :P

I like the fact that, besides fighting, I also have to think. Fighting the Doubt is easy when you figure it out. Just if you listen to what npc says: “Seek closure on the doubts and insecurities that plague you.” ( -> go close to these ghosts representing your doubt) I don’t know what’s the problem, it’s pretty simple.
I haven’t done the achievement yet, so I can’t say anything about that. But I’m sure there’s a way to do it as well.

I want to thank you for making such a beautiful legendary weapon. Since HoT I was looking forward to the gen. 2 legendary sword, because I really wanted one but I don’t like Bolt. (I was also a bit worried that it will be funny themed / ridiculous like Shooshadoo for example) I’ve been waiting for such a long time, but then, when I was again thinking it will take another few months (after the leg. hammer trailer), I saw that sword and I was so incredibly happy. My wallet became almost empty in few hours, and here it is <3

Crashed Canthan ship on the coast of Orr?? That’s a great idea!

I imagine something like this: We’ll get a report from some Pact member, that there’s a ship that crashed on the northern coast in Orr, and a Pact squad found them and helped them build a base for the survivors. And our character may say: “Wow! Let’s go there and talk to them! And after that I may stop in Arah and try to find something about Balthazar.”

From this we may get:
- a very valuable info about Cantha (or maybe southern Elona if that ship is from there?)
- a view of (partially, I guess) cleansed Orr
- something cool in Arah that may get us info about Balthazar and lead us to Elona

Plenty of things:

- Combat system, I’m so used to it that I would have a hard time fighting in other MMOs
- Unique races and cultures (okay, races like elves are cool, but they are just so cliché)
- Patching/maintenance system, I appreciate it like you
- Beautiful music, really some of the best in-game soundtracks I’ve ever heard
- Plenty of voiced talks, it really makes the game feel so alive
- Diverse world, with interesting things to discover, like cool dialogues, jumping puzzles, hidden chests, etc., also it’s very huge and growing, with a lot of places waiting to be discovered (and some rediscovered)
- No stupid grind to get the gear with the best stats
- PvP and WvW, both superior to any MMO PvP systems I’ve ever tried
- Living World, because of it the game isn’t stuck in time
- and much more…

I would like to see Zojja, possibly in a scene where she, Caithe, Logan and Rytlock talk about what happened to them and what are they going to do now. A last meeting of the Destiny’s Edge, before it finally gets disbanded. (As Rytlock joined our guild and Logan decided to accept the offer to become the Pact Marshal.)

I also want to meet the Master of Whispers again (Order of Whispers forever!).

Huh?? Where did you get the idea that the shortbow will be a condi weapon?? You’re saying it like it was confirmed. Not sure about you, but I have zero idea what the shortbow skills will be. And saying it because ranger and thief shortbows are condi, this is no proof. Rev utilizes weapons differently than other profs, for example warrior axes are power based and swords condi, while with rev it’s the opposite.

(after testing a weapon against the Risen who, because of an accident, overwhelmed the lab)

My reasons why I play and love GW2:

- Very interesting lore, part of it as legacy of GW1
- Lvling is fun, neither too slow or too fast, with good personal story
- no p2w, but b2p (or t2p – try to play, with that ability to try game without buying it)
- Events instead of standard quests
- Graphics (main reason why I don’t play WoW, I hate its graphics)
- World really feels alive (events, npcs chatting, story updates)
- Fast combat style (I love everything about it)
- So many different weapon types with some amazing skins!
- Unique playable races (except human ofc, but they have kinda unique lore for an mmo as well)
- Unique professions (mesmer, engi, rev, and others have some kind of uniqueness as well)
- Everyone has their own loot (from chests, monsters and nodes)
- PvP (GW2 has the best pvp I’ve ever seen + no pvp aspects in pve)
- WvW (while I do not play it too much these days, I still appreciate it as an alternative to pvp, + many players love it)
- Fractals
- Gliding!!
- Daily rewards
- Crafting system
- HoT and post-HoT maps
- Elite specs (awesome way to expand our playstyle without giving us new profession, can’t wait fo the next ones!!)
- Overall, the uniqueness of GW2 as an MMO

Gift of Battle obtainable in PvP pls?

I’m not saying I won’t do it because it’s from WvW, I’m just saying that it would make sense if it can be available in PvP too, because, as I wrote, there are no required components from PvP (except if you are crafting precursor). Also it allows many people to play their favorite mode while working on legendary.
I’m not complaining at all, but still it would be a nice QoL improvement imo

Pls Anet, can you make reward track for Gift of Battle in PvP too? As someone who barely plays WvW these days, because my server is in really bad state there (AG) + I don’t want to spend so much gold for transfer, I would really appreciate this.
Also, if someone is making a legendary, there are no required components from PvP. So it makes sense. It also allows ppl who don’t like WvW but want to play PvP to make some progress for their legendary.
Pls, pls, pls! It would be awesome!

GW2 Favorite places

- Divinity’s Reach – This city is just magnificent. And I love cities. This is one of the few zones (or maybe the only one) where I actually start to randomly wander EVERY SINGLE TIME I visit it, and forgetting or shifting my original goal why I went there. All these details, buildings, and npcs chatting. For me, DR is the best zone.

In terms of hanging out, I also love:
- Metrica Province – Probably my most favorite zone except DR. As an asura main and fan of their architecture, I’m enjoying every single time I visit it. It was also the 1st zone I’ve ever explored (my 1st char was an asura too)
- Blazeridge Steppes – There are some really beautiful yellow forests in middle of this land, and also some other interesting places
- Hoelbrak – Yeah, the nature, norn architecture (mainly those giantic lodges) and other things like these ice sculptures are together just wonderful
- Gendarran Fields – Land of contrasts. Really interesting zone and fun to explore…
- Auric Basin – Probably my most favorite from all jungle zones. And I really like Tarir!

As an asura main, I don’t agree with you. More races means more character diversity, and overall it makes the game more interesting and appealing to new players. I’ve also been quite enjoying the begining story for each race. And if only human were playable, it’s only natural that their lore will be prefered over other races. And I don’t like that. I actually like human lore, but I guess there are many people who just prefer lore of other races (and it’s not only the lore, but there are also people who prefer other races over humans in general, and they are not few. In fact some people told me they find human boring, or they started playing gw2 because of asura, charr, etc.) And the fact that these races are playable gives them much more opportunity to expand their lore.
So no, even if it could mean more armors, I wouldn’t trade these 4 races for that. Especially not my beloved asura…

Both of you have some interesting ideas. And I’ll put my two cents in as well. Here is my ‘ideal changes’ list I made some time ago…

WEAPON SKILLS:
Scepter
- Flamestrike: the secondary strike is now aoe, affects max 3 enemies (radius 180)
-Dragon’s Tooth: aftercast reduced by 1/2 sec
- Shatterstone: radius increased to 240
- Water Trident: also removes 1 condition
- Stone Shards: precast reduced by 1/2 sec -> casting time reduced by 1/2 sec
- Dust Devil: Base damage increased by 100%
Focus
- Flamewall: now applies 2 stacks of burning instead of 1
- Freezing Gust: Base damage increased by 100% and now it’s aoe, affects max 3 enemies (radius 180)
Dagger MH
- Ring of Earth: When used, a buff appears that properly shows the projectile block
Dagger OH
- Fire Grab: Damage vs non-burning foes increased by 10%. Damage vs burning foes increased by 15%.
- Frost Aura: CD reduced to 25 sec
- Cleansing Wave: CD reduced to 35 sec
- Ride the Lightning: CD is now 20 sec base, you don’t need to hit a target anymore
- Churning Earth: This skill now has its previous animation
Staff
- Lightning Surge: Casting time reduced by 1/2 sec
- Windborne speed: This skill now grants 2 seconds of superspeed + 10 seconds of swiftness
Warhorn
- Heat Sync: You now gain 2 additional stacks of might if you spread boons to an ally
- Wildfire: The firefield appears faster.
- Tidal Surge: Cd reduced to 30 sec
- Water Globe: Cd reduced to 30 sec, the water field travels slower

UTILITY SKILLS:
- Signet of Restoration: Casting time reduced to 1/2 sec
- Arcane Power: Cd reduced to 25 sec
- Arcane Shield: Cd reduced to 50 sec, duration decreased to 4 sec, now blocks all attacks during that time instead of just 3, after 4 sec it explodes if you block an attack, this change also applies to Final Shielding
- Armor of Earth: Cd reduced to 50 sec
- Mist Form: Cd reduced to 50 sec
Earth Shield
- Stone Sheath: Now blocks all attacks during its duration and applies bleeding to foes that hit you during channeling, but only in range to 600.
- Magnetic Surge: Base damage increased by 200%
- Magnetic Shield: Casting time reduced to 1 sec
Flame Axe
- Lava Axe: Now explodes when hitting a foe, damaging nearby foes (max 3) too, might duration is increased to 10 seconds
- Explosive Lava Axe: Damage increased by 15%
- Burning Retreat (Flame Axe): This skill is now changed to Blazing Axe. Throw a blazing axe that bounces between foes and allies, granting might to allies and damaging and burning foes. Creates a fire field between you and the 1st target struck.
- Ring of Fire (Flame Axe): This skill is now identical to dagger’s Ring of Fire skill.
Lightning Hammer
- Lightning Leap: Damage increased by 100%
- Wind Blast: Now applies 3 stacks of vulnerability
- Lightning Storm (Lightning Hammer): This skill is now ground targeted (900 range) and is now identical to Lightning Storm (Glyph of Storms), but cd reamins the same and does not apply vulnerability
Ice Bow
- Frost Volley: Damage increased by 30%, casting speed of this skill is increased -> casting time reduced to 1 1/2 sec
- Frost Fan: Damage increased by 50%

- Signet of Water: Now heals you by a small amount if condition is removed. Active skill is now aoe (3 targets max)
- “Feel the Burn!”: Damage increased by 20%, burning duration increased to 5 seconds
- “Flash-Freeze!”: Cd reduced to 25 sec.
- Tornado/Whirpool: When this transformation is active, base Toughness is quadrupled and base Vitality tripled (similar to Plague)
Fiery Greatsword
- Fiery Eruption: Radius increased to 240
- Firestorm (Fiery Greatsword): This skill is now identical to Firestorm (Glyph of Storms), except the cd

TRAITS:
- Conjurer: Instead of gaining fire aura when picking up a conjured weapon, players gain 2 stacks of might and additional boon based on the conjured weapon (Lava Axe:
3 stacks of might / Ice Bow: regeneration / Lightning Hammer: fury / Earth Shield: stability / Fiery Greatsword: 5 stacks of might)
- One with Fire: This trait now additionaly grants fire aura when you cast a signet
- Serrated Stones: Damage done to bleeding foes is increased to 10%
- Rock Solid: Duration of stability is increased to 3 sec
- Diamond Skin (if this wouldn’t be op): Now automatically removes conditions while above health threshold. You don’t need to be struck to remove them.
- Stop, Drop, and Roll: Cd reduced to 4 sec
- Soothing Power: Now additionally allies under the effect of Soothing Mist have reduced incoming condition duration by 10% (or 15% maybe?)
- Arcane Fury: Duration of fury is increased to 3 sec
- Elemental Attunement: The non-aoe version of this is now baseline. This trait now makes it aoe and increases duration of these applied boons by 20%.
- Latent Stamina: This trait has been reworked: Now when you dodge while you are under the effect of vigor, you gain some endurance back and the duration of that vigor
on you is increased (+2 sec maybe?)
- Tempestuous Aria: This trait now also reduces recharge of shouts (20% or 15% I guess?)
- Lucid Singularity: You are now healed by X amount when an enemy tries to put a movement-impeding condition on you while you are overloading.

Glyphs changes I suggested here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Glyphs-rework/first#post6267069 (btw, those skills above with changes linking to some glyphs are used with the current vesion of glyphs) + the changes to Glyph of Storms may be better from Kyon in post above me, so I would like to maybe replace that…

Started playing +- 3,5 years ago (3900 h), got 1 about year and half ago as a world boss drop I think (Storm), except that none, I don’t gamble with Mystic Toilet, because I know I don’t have luck so it will just wash all my gold away..

I REALLY wish they’ll give us a new playable race. And I hope it’ll be Tengu. They are unique. Culturally and lore wise they have ties to Cantha (hail Cantha!!). They already have main city which I believe almost all of us want to visit. And they might have strong reason why they’ll join us after such a long time. Their home is being threatened, by things like destroyers. And destroyers are coming from Primordus. And they’ll probably grow in power, because of what we heard about Primordus. So the main thing that’s threatening them will be more dangerous. And that may finally overcome their tradition of making their city inaccessible to outsiders. Because they’ll need our help, and we might need theirs…
And why I would not like these races:
- Kodan: They are super cool, and I like them, but I just don’t see it. 1st, they are too close to Norn I think. They are both nordic/ice themed. 2nd, if Kodan would ever appear as a playable race, where their main city and leveling zones will be? In Far Shiverpeaks I guess. And Far Shiverpeaks are what? Well, you guessed it, ice themed. And we already have ice themed locations, the Norn ones. And also an important thing, Far Shiverpeaks are being swarmed by Jormag’s minions and highly probably by Jormag itself too. It’s just a war zone. And it’s not a good idea putting new playable race right there. That would be like putting human’s main city + starter areas at the corner of Orr. It’s just not good.
- Largos: For me it’s terrible idea making them playable race. They may be cool, but only as nps for me. First off, I hate their voice. 2nd, their body structure. Their wings will collide with backpacks. And honestly, it would be really weird if they’ll just disappear when you have a backpack. It’s just part of their anatomy, they just cannot simply turn it off (imagine if various armors would turn off charr’s tails). And it was stated that they never appear without their mask. That would mean less face-making options and many helmets will be unusable.
- other races like Quaggan, Skritt, etc.: These races are considered as lesser races, which means they are in lesser stage of evolution than our playable ones. Their intelligence is lower, and they are not even able to fluently talk in a way other races do, which would be a big problem because our character is conversating at many places. Also most of them are not centered in one area, but instead in small communities around the world. They probably do not have any main city. And, honestly, can you imagine a quaggan revenant, or skritt mesmer? Like rly? Maybe it would be funny to see, but lore wise it would be hilarious and nonsense.

And now about those problems of even making a new playable race.
The lore and story: I think it would definitely be a nonsense if new playable race will have the same personal story as the others. But on the other hand, writing a complete new story lvl 1-80 would be probably too expensive. So there might be a solution like this:
The tengu (I’ll talk about tengu now) will have a main city and one zone for lvl 1-15 (or 20 maybe?). In the update (or before the update) where tengu become playable, these zones are opened to others. And the playable tengu will have some restrictions: you can create Tengu only if you have already lvl 80 character with completed personal story (so new players do not get confused with their story + reasons I’ll explain below) and only to HoT owners (their personal story will be directly followed by living world/expansion story). And they will start in their starter zone. They will have to solve problems around destroyers. Their story and starter area will be about that (+ maybe about things like dealing with the gates of Dominion of Winds suddenly opened up → their story will start short time after they are opened). Their story will continue until lvl 15 (or 20?). Then with some big finale/boss/discovery they will get an option to instantly lvl up to 80. They don’t have to, but their story will only continue if they make it/reach lvl 80. Then a 2nd part of their personal story will start. This one may be about meeting our characters like Rytlock, Marjory, Taimi, etc. and become integrated into their group. This part may end with defeating together some boss? Then, after that, their personal story is done and then living world story will continue. In that, Tengu might have slight variations of it depending on their story overall.
I can see it working this way, or in a similar way…

And about the other things, like making new armor, hiring voice actors, etc. … well I’m not a developer, so I can’t say how to deal with these… but if Anet manages to deal with it, and gives us a new playable race, I would be extremely happy.

Weapons for elite specs lacking?

Scapper’s hammer is probably the most used weapon of this class imo. I rarely see scappers without hammer. In pvp you’ll meet hammer scrapper in every corner.
Warrior’s torch is pretty useful for condi builds, in pvp I can still see them.
And herald’s shield? That one is definitely a GREAT weapon. It’s part of some great builds and its defensive abilities are very useful.
Other elite specs’ weapons are good too. Chrono shield? Awesome weapon with great utility. Druid staff? Also used a lot. DD staff? I also see many of them running it, mainly in pve. DH longbow? Their only ranged option except scepter (which is mid range now btw) and still part of some good builds.
Maybe only 2 weapons lacking are tempest warhorn and reaper GS. GS is too slow to be useful in pvp or wvw probably too, but still has some utilization in pve. And warhorn… ehh… well this one is crap.

Thank you Anet for making this game for us ^^. I love Guild Wars 2. That’s the main reason I play it. From all mmorpgs this is the best one I’ve ever played. Because it’s unique, and it’s fun. And I like unique things. Sure, there are some weaker spots, but I believe most of them will be adressed in future and overall the cons are FAR inferior to pros. So…
- thank you for such beautiful animations and combat style
- thank you for such a diverse world
- thank you for uw combat (but still it needs some love :P)
- thank you for story (PS, LW all seasons, and other events)
- thank you for Asura!
- thank you for Charr!!
- thank you for HoT and its content, I love HoT maps! (although I hope the next expansion will be bigger in content)
- thank you for Taimi and other great characters
- thank you for Nevermore!
- thank you for Quaggan!
- thank you for awesome PvP!! (but some love to ele would be nice with next patch :P )
- and many other things ….

Both d/d cele ele and s/f FA ele right after specialization patch and then cele staff tempest right before removal of cele in pvp. That one was my most favorite build in pvp. I love staff.
