Just press R, like you do to auto-run when not on a mount.
Recruitment has been re-opened in preparation for the Path of Flame expansion for Guild Wars 2. Head to our applications page to submit an application if you feel we would be a good fit!
Also much prefer how it is now
Also I’d like to ask (anyone) does pre-purchase of PoF is discounted?
Or we just can’t get miniatures and skins by purchasing ‘normal’ version in september in the same price?
This will be the standard pricing, not an early adopters price. People that pre-purchase just benefit from the extra trinkets that comes with the pre-order.
No mention of improvements made to graphics or the introduction of DX11 or 12.
Recruitment is currently open.
Been playing GW2 since pre-release in August 2012, but am in no way a hardcore player. I feel a lot of what you’re complaining about is because of what you’ve been taught when playing other MMO’s. Also sounds like you just don’t like the game.
Knockbacks:
Depending on the build you’re using, they can become pretty infuriating. But there’s a great number of ways you can counter these. Especially since the expansion came out, a lot of large knockback attacks are tied with what we call a defiance bar, where you get a 2-3 second window to apply CC (Fear, stun, knockback, chill etc…) to the enemy and interrupt whatever large knockback attack they’re about to perform if you do enough. You also get skills that apply a boon called Stability, others that block incoming attacks or mitigate them entirely depending on your profession. And of course what every profession in the game has, dodge. Using a mixture of these and moving around cleverly should put you in a fairly good position most of the time.
Damage:
Having full toughness/vitality gear isn’t going to help you much if you’re expecting to be able to face tank the game and never die. Even our ‘tanks’ in GW2 need to learn how to dodge appropriately, bring proper skills for damage mitigation and time their heals to when they’re really needed while dealing as much damage as they can. More experienced players in the game will more often than not take more damage orientated stats (Berserkers, Assassins, Sinister, Viper etc…) as this results in being able to kill the enemy far more quickly, and spend less time trying to mitigate the damage the enemy is trying to unleash on you.
Traps:
Will need some specific examples before I can really comment here. I imagine dungeons are difficult if you’re running with a group of 5 who are doing their first time run. But with those of us who are familiar with them, there are no unavoidable traps that wipe the team.
Travel:
Beating a dead horse. Game has plenty of waypoints you unlock as you explore, mounts are not needed. If you’re desperate to ride something around in the game, buy either the flying carpet or flying broom toys

Chipping in here as well after seeing a Reddit post on this thread.
I just took a look after recently getting a Mist Band from PvP for my Magi Druid. When purchasing it, it already comes with both infusion slots that you’d get when infusing and attuning it. It just doesn’t have the ‘Attuned’ namesake.

Ascended rings always have 1 slot.
infusing adds 1 slot, attuning adds 1 slot. Total: 3 slots.
I stand corrected! Just got back from work and wasn’t thinking straight apparently

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our community, if you’re interested, make sure to click on one of the links in the original post.
Just wanted to chirp in, as I’ve been having this issue for nearly 2 years, and only just today managed to get it fixed! Same with Srebrna, I have an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 in my machine which I’ve used for much longer than this issue had been occurring (hence it not flagging as a possible factor for me).
Disabling the drivers for my audiophile 2496 resolves the problem straight away.

Guild Name: Mantle Assasins [MA]
Server: FarShiverpeaks [EU]
Formed: 9th November 2005 in Guild Wars 1
Website: www.mantleassasins.com
Spoken Language: English
Contact Us: Here
Applications: Here
About the Guild: Mantle Assasins (misspelling explained later) is a small European Guild Wars 2 Community. We consist of a stable and loyal player-base of adults aged 18+ who have similar goals within the Guild Wars 2 Universe. Originally we formed in Guild Wars 1 in 2005, and many who joined us in Guild Wars 1 continue to be a part of the community, helping to maintain a solid community that has stood the test of time.
The misspelling you may have already noticed isn’t spelled accidentally (not anymore, anyway!), this came down to a typo when we originally formed in 2005, truthfully not expecting too much to come of the guild at the time. As time went on, and we succeeded in lasting through to the release of GW2, we set up a community poll to see if the Guild wanted to amend the typo when we migrated. The end result favoured us keeping the typo, believing it was part of our heritage, and members felt it portrayed many great and unique experiences each of us created for each other over the years.
At the moment, we’re primarily a PvE guild, participating in Fractals & Dungeons frequently. We also have a smaller organised group of players who enjoy getting involved in raids utilising a more strategic style of play than we would elsewhere in the game. Right now they’re a little bit too small to operate independently, so if you’re interested, let us know! We will also dabble in SPvP and WvW occasionally as well, albeit not nearly as often, but this is always liable to change depending on Anet’s content release cycle’s.
The [MA] Way: Something that we started back in the early days of Guild Wars 1, was what we dubbed “The MA Way”. To sum this up into an understandable concept – within MA we do not aim to be #1 in PvP, WvW or Dungeons, our main goal is to create the best experience we can in a laid back atmosphere and have a laugh while we’re at it. The team gets wiped? We just laugh in the face of team wipes, get back up and jump right back in without all the aggro & rage you get from a lot of other guilds out there! Although don’t get the wrong idea, we’re very good working together as a community, but without the tension of being criticised if you or we muck up
Recruitment: We do not recruit heavily, allowing time for new members to settle in and get to know the members before we recruit more. This also benefits those who are already in the guild as it gives us the time we need to get to know our new members well before bringing in any new faces and getting to know them. This system has served us well, giving everyone a chance to know everyone, and generally on a first name basis! To make an application, simply head over to the “Apply Here” section of our website to get started! Applications are handled by the Officers & Leader of the Guild.
Requirements:
- Players of the Guild Wars 2 Community to preferably be aged 18+
- Preferably own Heart of Thorns
- We are a 100% rep community, with the exception of Guild Banks
- Players are to register on our website and make an application when looking to join our ranks
- All new recruits have a sit down and chat session with an Officer or the Leader of the Guild to discuss yours and our expectations, and whether we’re a good fit for one another.
- It is preferable that our members have TeamSpeak3 installed and are willing to use it, we use TeamSpeak to socialise in general, not just for when we’re doing events.
- We have several WhatsApp groups that we use for members to maintain fluid contact with one another outside of the game, this isn’t so much a requirement, but is highly encouraged to provide the best possible chance of integrating into our community.

I wouldn’t say the game is raid centric at all, there have been large WvW makeovers and the new PvP season started a little while ago. We’re also currently working our way up to Living Story Season 3 with some snippet updates with the bandits and white mantle.
Raids themselves are fairly successful regarding their quality, but only a minority of the player base actually play them.
Guilds at this point are completely depending upon those running the guild. Fortunately my guild has a group of people running it that are always helping out and running things with people. We have three events a week, pretty much every week but we play together most days.
If the people running the show encourage engagement, people will be engaged, but it’s work and not everyone knows how to do it.
Pretty much this. Get some dedicated people leading community events on a regular basis in the guild, it keeps people engaged and more active. Running guild-made events as well is a great way to encourage participation.
You are clearly not a true MMORPG fan then.
What exactly is a ‘true MMORPG fan’?
I enjoy the scaling, because then I can jump in with a friend who’s at a lower level, and not one shot everything before they get a chance to tag anything. No fun for them.
AMA summary they did back in March:

AMA summary they did last week:

They’ve answered plenty of questions, if you search. Living Story S3 is due to be released around the time of the July quarterly update.
The recent patch update (19th April) made a ton of changes that has pushed the game in the right direction.
Alas, all MMO’s are reported on in this way, especially when the new ‘behemoth’ is coming out (WildStar, Elder Scrolls Online, ArcheAge, Black Desert, Blade & Soul), all of which have failed to ‘kill’ GW2 as many people like rave on about coming up to a MMO.
It was a terrible no skill mechanism. I’m glad they got rid of it.
We have gliding and Nuhoch pits to travel around of you don’t fancy walking

Also agree that specific dates shouldn’t be given when it’s only speculation. Most players will cling to any speculated dates with a gun held to Anet’s head. “YOU PROMISED IT IN 3 MONTHS, BUT IT’S DELAYED, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! #BrokenPromises #Lies #SinkingShip”
They told us exactly what they knew. It’s hard to give a specific date when something is still being developed because you don’t always know what bugs and issues you’re going to encounter along the way.
No official statistics are available for this. You’ll only receive speculation at best.
Create a new character and a couple of renaming contracts. Rename your first to something else, then Rename your new character to the first characters name.
Sounds very pay to win. Pay money to get your world completion much more quickly. No thanks.
Same, I use auto run plenty enough with it bonded to R. I’d get annoyed having to press W twice just to shuffle forward a little bit. And not being able to dodge forward with a double tap (I never press B for my dodge).
Back on topic, the request for auto run to also lean forward continuously isn’t a bad idea. Probably not going to be a high priority for most people since we tend to keep our W key intact
What inspired the animation behind many of the monsters/creatures? Did you look at real animals with similar body structures? Or did you go with what ‘felt right’ for the creature, given their size, weight, style of attacks etc…
Warned you about what?
Accept the queue next time. Dishonor is doing what it’s meant to. Remove afk players before they end up in a match.
That stuff was beta, and liable to change. I haven’t seen anything that costs that many iron boxes in the current game
You’re complaining that a balance update changed your skills? Is this your first MMO?
They only ever release the patch notes once the patch hits. Well, most of the notes, they tend to miss some important points off more recently

The map disconnecting and resetting is a mechanic that was introduced with mega servers. When there are too few people in a shard, it flags it for shutdown. Sometimes though, people will start bringing others back into the shard via taxi. Unfortunately this doesn’t reverse the closure, and sure enough, everyone gets kicked within an hour.
Other times, it’s just a server crash
Those that are enjoying the game aren’t sat on the forums playing keyboard warrior, they’re in-game enjoying it. A key thing to remember, if all the happy players took the same time to post as those who sit on here bashing the game do, the forums would be awash with positive feedback.
Unhappy customers are always the most vocal, and usually have an agenda.
If you stop holding down spacebar, this will no longer be an issue. The distance or height you jump doesn’t change whether you hold it down or tap it anyway
I’m pretty sure Anet released standard models in PvE/WvW before they did in PvP. Just drop character model quality to lowest in your options.
You’ll get mostly hyperbole answers and false assumptions from people with this question, because all of them have access to Anet’s population statistics apparently.
I’ve had absolutely no problems regarding activity in my guild since HoT, and we’ve only recruited a small handful of people since the release of the expansion.
It’d be a good addition. At the moment my Officer’s and I make do with an Officer’s guild and make do with multi guild chat
This is something we had in GW1, and Anet have already mentioned this is something they would like to add to GW2.
I mean on the ranks panel, you can drag ranks up and down to give them priority over one another. Is your co-leader rank physically placed above other ranks you wish to administrate? I’m on my phone so I can’t upload a screenshot right now unfortunately
Have you placed your co-leader rank at the top, right below leader but above everyone else? Users can only administer ranks located below them
The Jormag one states it pretty clearly in the achievement hot tip too, only during Wintersday.
I agree with Guhracie, the wardrobe release was one of the greatest QoL improvements in GW2.
Outfits + Tonics… Maybe not quite so popular.
The expansion would be the exact same price whether the core game was included or not. The price is much cheaper than other triple A releases, without even adding their Season Passes and 101 paid DLC.
Buy 2 Play, not Pay 2 Win
It’s a CPU intensive game, nothing new
@Xanthia, The cap is 1000, and supported by what others and Zachary have said about not being able to place more than that. No need to get your knickers in a twist because someone in customer support may have gotten it wrong.
