All i have to say is that i hope that screen shot is some sort of mistake.

I cannot and will not invest that much time to ever even getting close to 1 accesory, not talking about a full set of them.

It’s really unfair that by such little things it divides the community in 2 -

1. People that invest WAY too much time in the game. (I’m sorry, but any way you cut it,15/20 hours a week + is a kitten-ton).
Being way more viable in WvWvW and PvE content, making future divide between these 2 even worse if this trend continues.

2. Casual players that play the game less then 2 hours a day or at weekends.

Group number 2 gets the short stick as they rapidly fall out of the arms race…

I don’t see how balance is the reason for the cap.
In pvp, getting 25 stacks of bleed is a death sentence, just like 50 would be.
Put anything more then 25 seems wasteful, yet it should be doable if someone pleases.

I’ve had this pvp match 2 weeks ago, that a team of 3 necros were owning us with their conditions,really. It’s a PvE problem.

Reminding you that 1 condition removal skill will nulify all that hard work.

And on mobs,they’re right now taking pitiful amounts of damge from conditions.

I agree with the common notion around here: Increase single stack damage, decrease the number of stacks a skill applys.

And with various crit skills that proc on crit hits,usually 33% as i’ve noticed. Reduce the chance and increase the damage.

For bleeds and vunrebility.

I don’t understand why certain classes can’t bring 1 type of condition that can stack to 25 and each condition has their own debuff, that way if you needed certain debuffs you would NEED those classes in your groups. its called class diversity anet …pls, I know everyone “hates” wow but pls learn from it.

Requiring any class in a party is against the whole ethos of Guild Wars 2 hence no holy trinity.

By the way I still think the answer to stacking is keep the max stack at 25 but only allow each player to achieve a much more limited amount of stacks for more damage to balance it out.

For example make each stack do 5 times more damage but make the max amount of stacks any single character can manage at once to 5. Therefore the calculation would be instead of currently one player or five players able to only manage 25 stacks max of damage for 250 damage per tick (as an example), one player can still manage 250 damage per tick over 5 stacks or five players 1250 damage per tick over 25 stacks.

So one single player is balanced out to give the max damage he can at the moment but 5 players can do so much more. (The above calculation is just for an example only)

I like this idea. It solves it nicely.

Having bigger damage conditions , namely bleeds and burns (poison is used for the anti heal), per a stack would totally work.

And for those " On crit 33% chance for a bleed stack" can change to a “On crit 10% chance for a X3-damage bleed stack”.

I get chased/focused by engineers too, yet i do the same thing myself i admit.

I don’t see the problem. It’s like you said, to prove you’re the best engineer.
It might be alittle childish but i can’t help it.

I think it’s down to how different engineers can be base on the skills and traits you take. 2 engineers can fight, yet one will use SD-gadgets and the other rifle-flamethrower for an instance.

On the other hand, actually chatting in a negative fashion seems redundant in video games, just kick his kitten

Everyone saying we’re good against thiefs must have fought some bad ones.

I swear on my life, i thought the same thing – winning against some.
Yet then i fought some better ones, and my perspective changed.

Them stalking a point while invisible, resetting fights with impunity or downing someone in 3-4 hits while boosting haste and basalik unbreakable stun.

I’d say that at maximum we’re just in the same spot every other class is, yet we can’t shrug off the damage like a warrior/guardien can ( Which is ok really, they’re supposed to be do that. It’s just easier when you can.)

well what i used was double pistol for the condition stacking, namely the flame shot burn and number 3 confusion and blind.

The rifle seems like iffy since you’re wasting time not on grenades while putting off shots.

10 in tools for kit swiftness (perma swiftness). 30 in explosive since that what it takes to do grenades and 30 into firearms cause of the crits and condition damage.

In the skills area i’d say medkit for healing,grenades (duh), some good racial and maybe haste.

With proper movement and foresight you’ll level up to 80 with lil’ trouble.

I’d bet no one knows for sure but the devs.
Yet it would be silly from a story point of view that after you did the human storyline for instance you’d swap into the charr race.

It does add something from a playability point of view, but i don’t think it would happen.

One could argue that the only real reason to change races would be for the better racial skills ( unless you’re cosmetically obsessed) . And that’s a balance issues right there.

I understand there are balance issues, but i hear alot of globalization- minded cries.
The classes should be different. ALOT different. They are…kinda.

Making every movement skill the same is gonna dumb down the game.

It’s ok that warriors are gimped with CC more then other, they are more beastly to compensate. The lower classes and builds should be pumped up abit, and everything is gonna be just A-ok.

I have to say, since i made this post i started a new char – a Warrior.

Boy are those guys good or what.
A little on the boring side but very solid !
I was always under the impression they had weak support skills and range combat but that’s just wrong.

Their rifle skills are just superior to ours and can stand just fine compared to any of our rangy – kits.
Their buffs are even better. Who needs 1 stack of might from an elixier when i get 3 for 25 sec on a 25 sec CD ( which means almost 100% uptime).

While on the engineer’s side of the table i’m playing the keyboard like Beethoven for lesser results.
They are versatile just not solid.

I’m still pretty new to them, i’m sure i’m missing alot,but put it short :
They are just better and way easier. ( i’ve played an engieer for 3-4 months. i know).

Sure.
I see why it’s real world-ish having a trainer that “re-teachs” you, but it’s just anti fun really.
The game already went along way with the way point system,mobile quests and such, why not the ability to respec on the go? The button is already there. Just unable it world wide, not just pvp lobby.

I’ve grouped with warriors that did less dps than an afk player simply because they spent more time downed than actually fighting….and when got up, they were downed again faster than a fat kid on a seesaw….

As a warrior main I approve this message.

Have you considered NOT going full beserk and maybe switching to ranged from now and then? jeez..

I’m sorry, but i’m just kitten by how many negetive feedback this class gets.

I started off at launch as a thief, went to lvl 60 and then tried engineer and totally loved it. Just the sheer veriaty of stuff i can do got me.
Turrets, kits that present whole new 5 weapon skills , gadgets and elixers.

I know there are alot of buggy skills.
There are even more underpowered skills and traits.

But is it really? Really!!! that bad?

I myself have played engineer ever since ( only making an ele alt for the heck of it,lvl 34).

I usually do very well in Spvp and PvE ( dungeons, Fracts and general roaming).
The only real problems that present are maybe Tpvp and WvWvW to some extent, mostly because some classes and some builds seem over-powered rather then me being underpowered.

Once they buff some of our under powered skills and fix the buggy ones while on the same note tuning down other classes – i’ll be just happy with the balance and my roll.

So yeah, comment ahead if you want. I just think there are alot of people going over-board on the subject, claiming engineer is mega-weak, ‘total rework’ and what not.

I find the dredge being the upmost idea for a real engineer – dirty, hunched backed inglorious basterds they are.
One of the dredge signature weapons is their sound wave gun. A gun specializing in confusion and stunning their victims, leaving them deaf, disorientated and crippled.

The Dredge Oscillator –
Lore/Fluff : basically a reversed engineered dredge sound wave gun.
Purpose : control/debuff/damage.

Skills:

Tool belt – Heavy Bass – Fire a super dense ,slow moving, sound wave in a straight line , having some width to it. Destroys projectiles it connects with and who ever it hits gets knocked back for 250-300 game tiles. (or get a 2 stacks of vunrability) CD : 30 seconds.

With kit refiment – The next 2 attcks get a confusion stack added to them, a short lived one. (15-20 sec CD).

1. Sound pop – A high note is released. Dealing damage to a single target at medium range ( like ~600). ( should have a trait that makes it detonate on the target, like pistol 1, while adding 20 % cooldown reduction to the kit, crit or gadgets 30 ).

2. Resonance – Create a resonating frequency. Release a short ranged un- targetable attck that inficts the first close ranged enemy target dealing damage. It then jumps to the nearest enemy dealing reduced damage as it bounces.

3. Screech – a surprise release of high frequency sound leaves the targets in a close ranged, cone area dazed for up 2 seconds. (just like the dredge ability). The engineer is forced to channel the sound for those 2 seconds, or dodge roll away and interrupt it short.

4. Sound Wave – Fire a continues stream of sound at the target ( functions some what like Elementalist scepter’s Arc lightning).

Causes the signature engineer vulnerability ( rattling of their armor) on each tick while also applying cripple. Shouldn’t do that much damage by it self. More of a team thing. Short ranged and the engineer is stationary while channeling it.

5. Sonic assault – A quick and sharp sound wave designed to cripple and confuse the nervous system. Adds several stacks of confusion, while dealing decent damage. High cooldown ( like 25 -30 ).

Other types of attcks to consider:

Sonic boom – Let out a faster then sound wave that knocks everyone in AoE around the engineer down. Should be like a number 5 skill if it’s a medium AoE and number 3 if it’s a small AoE.

I agree with gadget buffs.
The whole idea behind engineers is their gadgets, yet taking kits is 10x better in most situation.
I find rocket boots and battering ram the most lacking.

Yeah. Im a hot join fan, it’s just so chaoticly awesome.
Although there having more of the more solid classes in one team usually means they gonna win.
I dont see it being fixed, only with balances.
It is kinda boring fighting a phantom army of 6-7 thiefs.. perma swinging into the air.

I agree on that noticing different states on an asuran model is real hard, which can be a real annoyence. I dont see how it would be changed, although maybe a size up when they enter pvp and wvw would be nice.

The thiefs and mesmers is what im worried about, you just dont get a fair fight with them. They’re just easy cheesy.
Bunker eles might be hard to bring down, but their damage isn’t that great.

Pvp and wvw spice it up too.
And i love the end game areas with the ton of events.

Some of the suggestions are borderline too strong…
It already a 33% precent heal toolbar with another 15% with the 1+2+3 health packs.
On the go Swiftness and condition removal.
You don’t need Another heal on top of that.

And healing mist is the elixir gun’s deal.

I find it stupid it’s a bomb like everyone else though.
Make it reasonable, not OP.

Damaging or knocking his back wont do it.
I’ve had lots of times where i used my big ol’ bomb as an eng to peel an invis thief off of my downed team mate, only to buy him some time. Wont revel him.

I wish they implement so stealth breaks if they get hit..

I think that after GW 2 , i wont be able to enjoy any traditional MMORPG any more.
They’re too grin-dish, and they’re map system usually sucks real bad.
They’re “click to attck” action is too bloody boring.

This game as a living map, how awesome is that?
People helping each other, not just ‘KSing’ .

It used to be kinda ok getting your gear. Now it’s a little harder…we’ll see how that goes.

I totally agree with this post.

I’d just like to share my own experience :

I bought this game without knowing at all what GW 1 was about. I watched acouple of streams about it and it seemed alright.
No monthly pay ? Finally a company that wont try to bleed me dry.

I did play linage 2, Ragnarok Lunia (which was fine in my book) and a bunch of other MMOs i can’t even remember.
All i know is that i hated the gear and level grind so horribly. So, so horribly.

Just looking up at some search engine that the sword or what ever that i need to keep on actually enjoying the game is gonna drop from this monster or that at a 0.00042% brought me to tears. I’ll have a better chances of a comet hitting my house.

The first thing i noticed about this game when i started was the graphics. Man, i love them. I still do. They’re awesome. Very bright and colorful.
The personal storys were awesome ( i skipped through the text,but the whole mission idea with an item choice at the end was sweet).

Then i found out you can pretty much get any gear you wanted by a decent amount of work, and the end result would be assured. (Karma vendors and later on dungeons).
And the black lion..lol. i remember walking around in linage 2 where everyone was setting shop EVERY where, making my FPS drop to like 5. You couldn’t find anything either.

So i work my way up to 80 ( having a great time all the way), figured out dungeons and started running them. Got my gear up and finally could sit on my chair, doing spvp ,WvWvW and dungeons to my heart’s content.

Then out of nowhere they drop these new dungeons (I like them really, although why must i run 3 of them in a row to see decent reward,why not 1?)
and another tier of gear.

Why? Why is there a need for a new tier? Everything was round and nice at lvl 80. The PVE challenge was just fine, and so was WvW. What difference does it make in the long run if i had 2 armor before and player number 2 had 2 damage and now i have 3 armor and he has 3 damage? What’s the point?

Again i’m not that knowledgeable in GW 1 ,but i heard that had like 2000 + skills. Now that’s the way to go!
A build isn’t the sword you wield, it’s the technique you wield it with.
More gadgets to engineers. More fighting styles to warriors. More blessings to guardians. More parlor tricks for mesmers. And so on.

Just my 2 cents : I .

P. S. And if i see signs of this kind of gear progression continues in the future, i just gonna stand up and leave.
I’m not mad. I got my money’s – worth out of the game.

I’m a 24 year old student in my second year of Molecular- biology , i don’t have time for a grind-fest, Nor do i wish to partake in one.

Just remove the obscene buff stacking (namely the protection and 2 types of stacking regen) and everything would be hunky dory.

I admit, i curse on some rare times, when i “rage”.

Usually about someone using the what i would consider an inherently stronger class with less skill and downing me when i slip up. It can be so obvious some times it’s makes me snap.

Usually just 1 message and revolves around skill rather then personal assaults.
Anyone with a shred of confidence would be A – ok.

Less glory for capping and uncapping. More for accomplishing map goals (chief/Svanir, 3-cap buff, etc.). Bigger bonus for winning.

And the big one:

Do not award glory until the match has ended. Leavers need to be punished.

The last line. Totally. Just like in league of legends. I’m afriad of the AFK fest it will turn out to be though…
On the other hand, “feeding” and “fed” states don’t apply to this game so only really pity players should go AFK.

What about team changes? That can be tricky…

As my own opinion, I’d like it if warriors had a little buff to their condition removal and a little nodge to their Heal. But not by a big margin.
They make for a pretty good pressure class right now, and felling one – for me atleast , takes my full attention.

And make the other never used kits a little more attractive .

Wont the boosters serve as wonderful rewards? Imagine, A booster costing like 1000 – 2000 points ranging from the weaker ones ( Hp regen, armor, kill spree) to the better ones ( increased karma, xp) .

I’d personally give A net a lung if they somehow made the electrical hammer engineer available, as in a kit.

Yeah i’ve always laughed at that.
Rocket turret is like 60 CD, and so is the weak missle toolbelt.
Thumper is like 40 or something, and the toolbelt is 90 lol ( is a blast finisher though).

Just the turret. I’m not commenting anything about traps right now :I .

I’m happy that you used this one as example, cuz he’s combo is bad…^^ Using CoF as opener is completely senseless… Normally you use Diversion since it stacks vulnerability to target. Afaik anet said they want to balance more for the top players and you almost see no mesmer using pistol… Ehm and showing a Mesmer killing heavy golem to show they’re burst seems like a troll… ever seen bs thief on heavy golem?….

Now please reread what you just said. It is a bad combo. It was still able to deal a huge amount of damage. Now think of people who have better builds…. yeah. There is a reason I linked that, because it is a good showcase on how bad people with mesmers can still do good.

On a golem the cof fail doesnt matter because diversion stacks vuln only on rupt, have you ever seen a golem using skills? and you may watch on his skillbar, he got everything on cd… +he uses one stun, wanna see ppl get kittened by one stun, even 100b wars do better on golems xD

Correct me if i’m wrong, but beside the shatter, doesn’t he have a 8 second cooldown when he’s done his combo? How is that comparable to 100 b?

Just a side note, a theory – It’s what i always presumed.
A – net fears changing mesmer since it’s their poster boy.
It’s the only special class in the game (at this point) that isn’t present in a different rpg.

What about boosts? (karma,xp,armor,hp regen, all the unused ones)
Would still make you get involved in those activitys.

Filmed not even a month ago and on the full 80 heavy Golem.

Edit: If you watch till the end you will hear him also state: If the Target lives (doubtful if they don’t block/dodge/or something) then it will also have 10 stacks of confusion.

I’ve played every class out there BUT mesmer, for the single fact that there are way too many of them in the game already ( and for good reason.. ).
Seeing how easy it is to do those numbers just makes me want to cry really. I really mean it.
All he did is press the numbers in a string and walla! dead HEAVY golem.
I’ve not seen a mesmer from the eyes of the pilot seat, now i regret seeing that.

I can only dream of such easy high numbers on my engineer , not to mention that the overall combo i can preform is loose,erratic and is not a 7 second cooldown one (like the end of that video shows).
That mesmer even has the same amount of life as me. Ridiculous.

And to the guy above : Using one problem to account for another is a straw man argument.
