Greetings!
I’ve had this thought ever since before the release of the game and was hoping it would be implemented in the game.
Would it not be amazing to have different accessories and decorations for Charr tails?
Currently we have only a few armor sets which put certain protection/decoration on tail, and I am not happy how it depends on armor set.
Now that we got wardrobe system, having certain skins to work towards to would be great.
The ancestral outfit for male Charr has a dragon on the tail, why not make it separated and put an extra slot for tail in hero panel?
Imagine a plated tail, spiked, with ribbons, etc.
Charr:
-Males-
So far what I saw from faces in store and hairstyles too, I got really…kind of disappointed. They look like hybrids and a little deformed as well.
Face patterns and details should be ’’optional’’ , something one can choose to have or not. Scars, ’’freckles’’, dots etc.
As for hairstyles, just like for all races, accessories should be separated, not glued to the hairstyle, or perhaps specific hairstyles could have different styles of the ’’same’’ accessory it is tied to.
More better face options for males, currently they strayed too far from looking like felines.
Beard options for males- Many remember Pyre Fierceshot, he had such a cool beard, seeing that in game would be great, along with other options – and no, not tied to face, but a separate option to add it to any face.
-Female-
Females should have different horn accessories, earrings, neck accessories, hair accessories and decorations as well.
Eyeliner would be very nice to see too, currently only one female face has eyeliner and it looks really amazing- like true cat eyes.
Now what ran through my mind and made me quite hyped for this race is…Tail accessories, so far a few armors have bits of it glued to tail, and I do not like that implementation. Why not add separate way to customize our tails? One could choose full metal-plate-like armor on tail, spikes on tail, ribbons on tail, different types of decorations to make it look amazing. It could even be acquired from actually playing the game, unlocking it and next time one opens the wardrobe can choose it any time.
Asura:
-Male-
After I saw this spiked hairstyle I found it one of the best hairstyles for this race. Why not add more accessories like that? Asura could have ‘’cube-like’’ decorations, or perhaps even energy-like patterns going around them or something.
Males should also have beard options, in GW2 a few ’’elder’’ Asura had quite unique beards, why don’t our Asura have that? Choosing different beard types would be great.
All accessories could be tied to technology, I didn’t have any specific ideas regarding this, I’m sorry.
-Female-
Females might have makeup options, or perhaps face pattern options which are unique to their gender.
Hair accessories which are tied to their style, loved the Egyptian hairstyle we got, I think we need more like that.
What do you think of this idea?
Feel free to expand!
Greetings everyone!
I have had this idea for a while and I thought I could share my thoughts here.
I was thinking that each race could have different accessories to expand the creation and make us look even more unique.
So here’s a few thoughts:
Humans:
- Males -*
Different beard options (better variety), scars, face accessories (piercings) and let us adjust the ear size too, hair accessories like bandanas.
-Females-
It was requested before, giving female characters an option to choose makeup will add up to creation.
Lip color, eyeliner color, eye shadow color, eyeliner style, eye shadow style, hair accessories – bandanas, different decorations.
Norn:
-Males-
Giving them more beard options and making them look more Northern would make them look way more unique than they do right now, more longer beard styles, beard accessories, more long hairstyles for them, different hair accessories as well, different scar patterns (one eye, both eyes, lip, nose, cheek, forehead, across the face etc). Tattoo patterns are amazing, scar patterns could be added for the body as well.
Body types need more options, currently I cannot play my Norn due to huge neck and clumsy walking.
-Females-
Just like mentioned with female humans, female Norn need face customization as well (makeup)-different types of it, scar options for face and body, hair accessories – maybe adding an extra braid, or adding some rune-like ’’rings’’ and details on hair would be great.
Sylvari:
-Males-
Considering they are plants, there is so much that can be added to them.
Males could have different types of ‘’beard styles’’ , currently all ’’beards’’ are tied to faces one chooses, which limits the possibility of playing with creation. Adding more branch-like beards, or even moss beard, cactus beard would be really fun to see.
As for hair, accessories would be great. Adding some ’’wooden’’ horns to males would be great, and there could be a large variety of horns too (deer-like etc)
Seeing different hairstyles would be great too (preferably long ones, unkept ones, like moss hair etc)
-Females-
Makeup options too, but keep them unique compared to Humans and Norn, perhaps adding ’’makeup’’ which is tied to glow. During the night that makeup can ’’pulse’’ just like the rest of the body, make it a part of them, as if they were born with it. So far we have a few faces which ’’show’’ makeup, but it limits options again.
As for hair accessories, I think females should have different types of flowers to choose from, it would really be great to see that females can choose from variety of flowers for their hairstyles, even choosing a place where a flower is to be put would be great.
To distinct them more: Females would only have flowers, males only horns.
Of all the races I find the most variety in Sylvari creation, and I hope it expands more and more.
What I would particularly like to see is some rather long hairstyle which is like grass (for males), and long hairstyle with flowers-moss (for females).
Here’s my Sylvari necromancer with new hairstyle.
To OP: It would be AMAZING to see these hairstyles in game!
I very much agree with this and this is one of the things which really bug me about immersion…I play without in-game music on…I just can’t stand it anymore. Too ’’fluffy’’ too heroic, no immersion at all and it keeps repeating. There is no distinctive soundtrack on which I can point finger at and say “Oh hey, I hear this when I am in xx area!” – It is truly one of the things which definitely needs to be looked at…I love the new tracks they made. The one in Southsun Cove and Nightmare Tower really had some immersion and personality.
I just think that Jeremy Soule did not pull this one out…however, more room for new composers to jump in and work on their career.
I fully support this.
I literally ‘’grew up’’ with GW1, started playing it when I was 13, now I am 21 and I still miss those good old times.
It had immersion, it had…soul. That is something I do not feel here. Everything is rushed and everything is ’’safe’’…you feel no threats in the open world, not even Orr. GW1 really felt different.
I cannot even compare build diversions and freedom of experimenting with builds and professions, it’s something I enjoyed doing in GW1! Also taking henchmen and doing things for my own soul, like dungeons, UW, FoW, DoA…
While I love GW2 a lot, I would love if the game focused more on giving the players what they actually want. It has soooo much potential still, yet I see it being wasted on gemstore and Living Story (which I hope will evolve and turn to be more serious).
Thank you very much for this Gaile!
I never find time to browse through forums much nor check this, but I will surely do it regularly now on!
Thank you for looking into this matter and explaining this to us, I really appreciate it and I am mooore than glad that it is nothing to worry about.
I am so glad to know I am not the only one getting this…so it must be their IP…
I am in EU, and it’s odd to see Texas IPs here, of course…but you have nooo idea what heart-attack this just gave me!
I found it odd that my old IP was last connected 50 minutes ago, while Texas one was 1 minute ago, the exact time when I logged in to check if my characters are all there in game.
It’s the exact IP you just wrote here, so I guess we are safe now, pheeeew. x.x
Hello!
I have just submitted an e-mail to support regarding this matter. I completely got a heart attack…
Now what happened to me is that I got disconnected and I could not connect back to the game. Said "Firewall’’ issue when I typed my password in client…but at some point I got to character selection screen and I hit play, but it never did anything, I could not get into game world. I repeated the same process a few times, and it was either that client could not connect or that I could not access the game…
Now…I changed my e-mail password twice, I changed my in-game password as well, and when I saw ‘’Current logins’‘, I saw US, Texas. Sooo…I assumed it must be a hack attempt.
I disconnected that connection and I went back into the game. It let me in. So I went back here again, only to see the same IP from Texas. I disconnect, log into my account from website and there it is again…
What confused me was that it was there every time I logged in, it signed ’’1 minute ago’’ every time, so I assume it must be one of your servers? I am still going to change my account name, for the sake of keeping it safe.
Thanks Pip, it’s good to see like-minded people and those who notice things, I really appreciate your support in this!
And I completely agree with you, even if it will benefit everyone, people will still find reasons to complain, and that is something I will never manage to understand.
Female Norn are obviously top priority in everything, I wonder why? Haha…
Besides…I am not finding it impossible to implement long hair for males, it just depends whether devs want it or not. If it was impossible, then female characters would not have it either, and considering female build, I am finding it more difficult to make long hair for women than for men, see where I am going?
If that was an issue, then female Norn would not have such a huge variety of long hairstyles.
Not even male Norn can pick some warrior-like Nordic braids……………..and I have hoped since beta that male Norn would get more warrior-like hairstyles. Instead they share same hair models with humans…ironic, is it not? Where female Humans and female Norn have different hair types. Any particular explanation here? Though I think it’s obvious that females are top priority here, don’t get me wrong, I feel happy for ladies who can customize their characters according to their taste and it should stay that way. I just feel the need to express that male characters should not be put into ’’shadow’’…I would really love to see more variety and adding long hair would make me happy like a child.
NOTE:
If you do not like long hair, do NOT use it. There’s no need to claim that it should not be added just for the sake of not liking it. No one is forcing you to use it, no one is depriving you of having the option to choose short hair. It’s about adding more variety and having bigger and better character customization.
Besides…who would not want a similar hairstyle to Sephiroth from FF? It just looks too fabulous.
@ Warkupo.
I don’t understand how come certain people just pop here to say “Oh clipping issues, no chance long hairstyles will get added.” I keep mentioning female Norn because they have the longest hairstyles in the game and ’’clipping’’ is not stopping people from playing them and choosing those hairstyles.
I see no problem with male models, in fact, males have ’’wider’’ shoulders and backs than females, I don’t see why would having long hairstyles for males be a problem?
Like mentioned before, clipping will always be present and it’s hard to avoid it, but that does not mean discarding more options.
And what you said about “I can’t find a hairstyle I personally like”, is pretty much insolent from your side. I just want more options added, thus I made this thread for like-minded people who share my same problem. People who wanted specific hairstyle “Afro” had their wish fulfilled. Why is adding a simple LONG hairstyle so hard? Oh but apparently it represents problem to people who literally don’t want it or hate guys with long hair. If you don’t want it, don’t use it, but let others who want it have the option to pick it. I know many people, along with myself, would like to give their characters a decent normal long hair and to ‘’stand out’’ a little.
Why is adding more options to character creation such a problem to people? You’ll benefit from that too, for God’s sake…
Besides…almost all hairstyles at the moment are all too modern…just like male human faces…
Current opinion about clipping is truly crippling us from many options: Having capes, having decent backpieces, having long hair (guys only, since it’s obviously not a problem for female models, who knows why?). Oh Charr tails clip with armor too! Let’s rid the Charr of tails too, so that clipping gets solved, shall we?
Personally I am not finding the clipping a problem…and I’d choose a buggy, clipping long hair which is long over any other semi-long or short hair.
Longer hair generally has more clipping issues. I imagine that the hair is as long as it can be without looking ridiculous.
I wonder, I wonder…how come female Norn have so many long hairstyles…yet people never complain about clipping? All I heard from female Norn players was: “I am amazed with beautiful hairstyles they have!”
It’s normal that clipping exists…even Charr tails clip through armor.
Clipping would not stop me from choosing a long hairstyle, just like clipping is not stopping me from playing a Charr. It’s ridiculous and such way of thinking is limiting us greatly.
I am all up for more options and I am certain that ANet devs and designers can come up with fitting solution for this.
Give us ponytails, normal long hair, wavy long hair, curly long hair, there are so many possibilities to expand the character customization and variety of hairstyles…I am honestly tired to see so many ’’modern’’ hairstyles, looking like some ‘’top models’’ ……………
Character creation itself could do with a lot more…
It’s a new MMORPG, yet it surprises me it offers less options than older MMOs.
Male Humans could do with a lot more faces and body types…I am tired of seeing those ‘’plastic-baby-faces’’ and unnatural muscles. Male Norn could also do with more body types…they had fine body types in GW1, even if NPCs.
As for hairstyles, there truly needs to be a lot more options…I am really tired to see players with same hairstyles all the time, and the most commonly used hairstyle is the “Logan” one for Humans. In my opinion it is the best hairstyle for humans, but obviously over-used, for the sake of being the best. The straight ’’long’’ one is badly done. I dislike the fact that I cannot hide my character’s ears and they are sticking out, looking awkward. Charr, Sylvari and Asura have options to scale ears, why not humans and Norn?
I would still be more than happy to see more long (and I mean very LONG) hairstyles added for males…I want to have freedom to make character according to my taste and according to myself as well.
As I said, clipping would not bother me…it can go through shields or back items, but I would still have it.
I hope in near future we get more hairstyles and more customization options for our characters.
Adding more hairstyles and more options would not hurt anyone. I don’t understand why some people come here to comment they don’t want long hair/more options. I, for once, don’t want short hair or semi-long hair, but I respect those who like it that way, I won’t claim them to let their hair grow, like some people claim men should not have long hair- which in my opinion is insolent from them. The current hairstyles we have for males now are all ugly in my opinion, and they hardly go over shoulders, like said above.
Having different choices is always good and it also makes us match with our characters.
GW1 had a large choice of hairstyles for each profession…yet GW2 has a more ’’advanced’’ character creation which lacks many options instead…
What I wanted for either my human or a Norn is a pic I uploaded.
Let us have more choices ANet, current choice of hairstyles is really, really small…only female Norn have a huge variety of hairstyles………….
Adding a hair length slider would be great. If I recall correctly, Vindictus had an option like this.
I support all your comments regarding this Pip, thank you for your support in this!
There are many guys out there with long hair, just look at all the metal bands and it’s enough to see what kind of long hair I speak of.
Only female Norn are given the right to have long hair, and apparently no one else. Heck , even female Humans have a few long hairstyles, but not a single male has decent long hair. Not even a ponytail…
The only ’’long’’ hair I can call is the Sylvari one which reminds of dreadlocks…but even that one does not cross the shoulder-length.
I’d buy 1000000000000000 gems to get a single long hair, which could go over shoulder-length, reach my character’s waist or cover the back completely.
The current ’’long’’ hairstyles are all ugly in my opinion and I am finding it too difficult to even pick one of them…
I have posted a similar thread to Norn forum, because this really bugs me a lot.
Just like the title says, there’s a huge lack of long hairstyles for males.
I, being a guy with really long hair in real life, am feeling quite down to see that I am unable to give a simple long hair to my character. I was hoping that we’d get a single long hairstyle in one of those makeover kits…but not even a simple ponytail for men.
Clipping is something which will never bother me. I’d rather pick a clippy/buggy long hairstyle over any other short hair.
Why can females have long hair and not males?
Right now, all ’’long’’ hairstyles barely even touch shoulders.
Are we going to have more hairstyles added?
I want my character to look like a real warrior, not some ‘’fancy school boy’’.
I assume many other people would be happy to see this too.
Thank you.
^ This.
I truly don’t care about clipping, and like you said, I’d pick the super buggy/clipping long hairstyle over an ugly ’’short’’ hairstyle.
I want my male character to have that old-school warrior style, to look like a real warrior, not a ‘’fancy school boy’’ with modern hairstyle.
Adding a simple, unkept long hairstyle for males would be amazing. It makes characters look even more kitten in my opinion.
Just like the title says…
I am finding this a big issues for both male Norn and humans…Being a guy with really long hair in real life really puts me down to see that I can’t make the same for my in-game character.
Norn are known to be tall Vikings, I expected them to have a large variety of long hairstyles compared to other races. The lack of long hair and long beard really puts me speechless.
Clipping is not an issue for me. Why can females have long hair and males not? All male hairstyles so far barely even reach shoulder-length. We don’t even have a decent ‘’pony-tail’’.
Please ANet, a single long hairstyle for males would really make me happy, and I bet many other people too.
I love what ANet added here, I really do, this is something new and refreshing and I hope it will be something like HoM rewards!
Though I do agree with people that dailies should NOT reward achi points. I am not finding it as ’’fair’’ balance…also with the fact that many, many new players will always be left behind with achi points compared to a person who did dailies for months…
I have 6k achi points…and guess what? Majority of that is from dailies and monthlies…
Lately I am hardly finding time to play the game…I stay on for an hour, max…and instead to enjoy the game, I must do dailies, so I don’t fall back with achi points, karma nor laurels. I know that this is optional…but I would have been fine with it if dailies just rewarded karma, xp and laurels…not achi points.
Respect to all the people who like dailies, I like them too…but doing them every day can be a pain, especially if you only have an hour to spare for gaming…(And daily normally takes 45 mins to get completed…with my pace.)
An interesting gate…I came across it with my friend as well…
And we wondered something…it does look like Asuran architecture…but for some reason it really reminds me of something Largos could have built. I don’t know…
I got the e-mail from support team, they reset my password.
I suggest you contact them Atomic…
Though I am finding it incredibly odd how it reports that error…even if no one entered nor tried to hack my account…
Thank you for your response!
I have contacted the support, yet I did not get the answer I wanted to hear.
It appears to be a bug…since if anyone entered my account I should have been notified via IP logins or e-mail authentication…
“Invalid account” must mean that someone changed it, but after 4th try I logged in without troubles.
Changed the password and it’s working properly…
I just hate it when things like this happen…gives me a heart-attack!
Sincerely hope it’s a bug…
Even when I was checking errors list on Wiki, I did not come across the error which just said “Invalid Account Name”…since it’s normally “Invalid Account name or Password”…
Greetings!
This morning after the update I tried to log in as usual and I got the “Invalid Account Name” window, with “Recover Account” under it…I thought it was a bug or something, so I tried to log in again a few times..but it did not work…so I went to recover the account, typing all the necessary information and once I did that it just said “Error”…I tried to log into my account again, and it worked. Just in case, I reset my password…
I would like to know if this is issue with my account? Was someone trying to suspend/hack me? Or is it server bug, technical bug?
I checked the log-in history on my account, no one else tried to log into my account and neither did I get the authorization e-mail about it.
I can’t relax until I am certain about this…thank you in advance!
I completely dislike Quaggans, I’m sorry.
In my opinion they don’t even fit into this game. Their voices annoy me, everything about them annoys me…and seeing these Quaggan bags and hats makes me want to pluck my hair.
If they get added as a race, the game will completely lose on its seriousness…
Come on…just think about it…
“Oh, I made a Quaggan warrior and I have killed an Elder Dragon, cooooooo!!!” :S
Sorry, just no…neither them nor Skritt, it’s too silly and ridiculous…
I want Tengu and Largos. Something serious and cool-looking.
I do not understand how some people ’’like’’ to swear and even complain that they aren’t able to do it or get reported.
I assume everyone would hate if someone just kept swearing in map chat or at certain people (you in this situation).
Keep some dignity and politeness, self control and respect others…you can swear at your home as much as you wish, but spare the rest of the world from this.
I am really happy that ANet implemented this.
Swearing= Lack of words and proper communication.
I agree with this, Rangers definitely need a better variety of pets.
What I dearly and badly want is to be able to have a Raptor as a pet.
Let’s hope we get to see something like this in the future.
I totally agree with you.
I posted on several different threads about music…the game needs ’’mood’’ and music is just not offering it.
After listening to GW2 soundtrack (4 CD’s) there’s a lot of unused, nice tracks…
But what we lack are more ’’depressing’’/’’moody’’ tracks…which would set the mood regarding what you’re doing in the game.
Jeremy Soule is a great composer, I just think he could have done waaaay better.
Skyrim has epic music and so does Harry Potter!
GW2 has too cheerful music…too heroic and these ’’trumpets’’ are just getting on my nerves…
The music we get while in swamp is moody and you can feel how it affects the atmosphere in game…
“A Land Restored” also affects it greatly…we need more tracks like that…we badly need that.
I appreciate what they did with Southsun Cove music…it’s unique to that area and it finally describes the area a bit.
Let’s hope this gets fixed one day!
I have posted a few replies to such threads and I would really, really, really love mounts to get added here.
Even if we have WP’s there are players who would rather run/ride around the world, rather than just TP.
WP’s are really good when it come to events and quick travel (when one doesn’t have a lot of time to move around).
Though mounts would add something more…like adventuring…and I would certainly love to collect them.
Almost every profession in this game has a speed boost…some even have signets which increase their movement speed when equipped…Why would it bother some if mounts actually gave the same speed boost as these signets?
Also…when attacked, one could instantly dismount…just to keep some balance up.
There are many creatures in this game which could serve as mounts…Devourers, Moas, Charr ’’cars’’? Asura ’’special’’ golems…Sylvari could have some plant-like horse or dinosaur….
For my Human I would really love a horse…even if we haven’t seen any in Tyria. Norn could ride a Dolyak or a giant Bear…
Also, one would automatically dismounts in JP’s and mounts aren’t allowed in dungeons/instances.
Let’s hope we get something like this in game!
I too want to say thank you, ANet! For everything so far!
Your hard work is very, very appreciated and I can’t thank you enough for making a game without subscription fees.
This is the best MMO of them all and it is really silly trying to play another MMO after this one. It’s too advanced in every level. Even some single-player RPG’s lack certain things which GW2 has. The combat is soooo smooth and enjoyable!
Graphics are just breathtaking! The areas…the secrets we uncover in each zone…the jumping puzzles! There is sooooo much in this game!
Unfortunately majority of people fail to see this…and think that the only end-game content are dungeons and legendaries. People, relax and don’t rush things for God’s sake…I am really speechless how some people got to level 80 within the first week after release…Is it some race? To prove how ’’awesome’’ one is? I don’t get it…
Same goes for legendaries…you farm to death and of course you get sick of the game…
As Pip said, legendaries were put there to take a looong while to get!
Anyhow, keep up the good work ANet, my full support is with you and I will keep buying stuff from Lion Trade. The unlimited harvesting tools are much, much appreciated! Hope to see more things which expand character creation and some nice mini pets in store!
Cheers!
Agreed with both!
I would love to see:
1. More long hairstyles for male characters. Yes, I want my character to look fabulous. And character creation should expand…whether they do it via BLC or not, I don’t care…I would love to see it expanded, since we only have a few choices. (After beta ended, I thought it would expand at release, but nope…)
2. More Roleplay oriented stuff, like suggested. More emotes would be appreciated…
3. More cool skins for armor and weapons and more nice mini pets.
4. And like suggested again, capes and cosmetic mounts.
A very interesting topic…I’ve been thinking about this as well…
And…who knows how it might turn out in the end…
I would really love to see our character regretting these actions…everyone makes mistakes, and it would surely be refreshing to see something like this in the game.
We are already ‘’too heroic’’ in everything we do…this could add some difference, and by making mistakes, the person usually grows in knowledge and tries not to repeat the same mistakes again.
I keep listening to soundtrack…and all I can say is that only a few tracks have been added to the game and they just repeat over and over….A lot of tracks from GW1 have been added too…though I don’t understand it…with so many tracks for GW2, why add so many from GW1? Combat music they added from EotN gets on my nerves, really…
The tracks are misplaced…they definitely need better organisation…and we have far too many cheerful/heroic tracks in the game. I think that a little more depressing and serene tunes would make the atmosphere better.
I also wish to add that music should change regarding what you do and where you go…
Yesterday with a friend I went to the Crypt in Gendarran Fields…and this happy/heroic music kept playing and it was getting on my nerves seriously…it should change. I am entering a creepy crypt…I want something to send chills down my spine when I go in there. At least adding some ’’howling’’ instead of letting ambient music play over and over would be nice for such ’’creepy’’ things…
Music for some jumping puzzles should also change.
What also bugs me is when I change the area…say from Ascalon to Shiverpeaks…Ascalon music still plays in Shiverpeaks, no matter if I changed the zone. I think that when we change the zone, the music should stop at the loading screen and switch to music specified for that area.
I really like your idea Sinifair and I really, really hope ANet considers this…
The track named “Zhaitan” really caught my attention…I think that it could be something that could play in Orr…or maybe at some specific locations (cave, puzzle etc)
The track “Tyria Awaits” sounds like something out of a movie…it’s like the beginning…something which actually ’’drags’’ you into the world…and I wouldn’t mind hearing that in some zones.
“The Vaults of the Priory” … “Ventari’s Legacy”, “Promenade of the Gods” … all beautiful tracks…
I also mentioned Southsun Cove music…I am happy we have two tracks specific for this zone and they really give you the feeling of the zone.
The track “Out of the Dream”, could be nicely added to Caledon Forest.
Night music should also be different for each zone…we only have, how many tracks? 2-3 for night-time? It really gets boring…
What I really like is, when I go to visit the Pale Tree, how “Fear Not This Night” instrumental starts playing…I feel like staying there and just listening to it until it finishes…
I’m glad to see that people appreciate music in game. It’s very, very important to get that ’’nostalgic’’ feeling when playing the game…and to remember the areas according to music.
Agreed!
I can’t tell by music which zone is which…
Music is not iconic, it’s not specified for different zones, which is quite a shame…
I am finding it ridiculous how Asura theme starts playing in Queensdale too…
Caledon Forest, when I go there, I want to enjoy the music specially created for that area, something iconic for Sylvari…and there are so many tracks which can be tied to this area…not a mix of ‘’all Maguuma music".
I bought the game soundtrack, 4 CD’s…there are soooooooo many unused tracks, beautiful tracks! Peaceful and serene…and names of the tracks can tell what’s it meant to be used for…it’s really a shame how unused the game soundtrack is and how the areas don’t have their unique music…
I hope ANet takes this into account, because it really means a lot…it makes the areas memorable.
Good luck with this Sinifair, you have my full support!
I found some more Largos concept art with different mask and armor styles. We can also see the concept of how the wings would fold.
http://haggardcaptain.tumblr.com/post/45967837986/kekai-k-guild-wars-2-largos-concepts
Oh wow! Thanks for the link!
I saw a few of those on Kekai’s webpage, he did an excellent job!
Largos really look amazing, they also remind me of vampires when they have their wings/fins lowered, they look like a cool cloak.
I totally agree with this!
I’ve replied to a several similar posts about this and all I can say is that game really lacks different tracks…
Every area sounds almost the same…some tracks even get messed up…
When in Divinity’s Reach, I hear Maguuma Jungle music playing…
Ascalonian music…oh God…during the day, it’s soooooo cheerful it drives me insane! “Hero’s Canton” I believe the name of the track is…and it’s playing non-stop…
I set my music interval to ’’longest’’ and all I can say is that it’s a lot better…
I would really like to hear more tracks such as:
The Tengu Wall,
Lornar’s Pass,
Fallen Comrades,
Straits of Devastation,
A Land Restored,
Out of the Dream…
In my opinion, these tracks are beautiful! I honestly hope that JS composes more tracks such as these and less ’’heroic’’/’’loud’’ tracks…
Music like this would affect the atmosphere of certain areas and give that nostalgic feeling.
During the night-time in Ascalon, whenever I hear “A Land Restored” I get goosebumps.
Custom playlist is not a solution…when I play GW2 I want to enjoy its music…not music from other games.
I would also like if we could disable combat music…Combat music is really great when fighting Dragons or other large World Bosses…though when fighting normal mobs, it’s just annoying…
EDIT:
And just to add, the new track we got for Southsun Cove is great! It just makes me want to stand there, listen and look at geysers…
It’s a shame that Krytan music, as well as Echovald Forest music play there too…wish we had more unique tracks for this zone.

I love the idea of tengu.
They could get plummage and colors of all kinds of birds. Eagles, Hawks, Jays, Doves, Pheasants, Peakittens, Parrots, Birds of Paradise, Crow Birds.Personally I would love to make a bluejay inspired tengu.
It’s funny how peakitten got censored, it sounds silly. xD
Anyhow, I adore birds and having such a wide variety of customization for Tengu would really be amazing!
Personally I would love to have a hawk-like and a parrot-like Tengu.
Interesting that he attacks a Sylvari scouting party, not really the high prized kill that most of them find honor in. Kinda hints at an axe to grind with the Largos (rogue groups) and Sylvari and he’s the only Largos to attack a playable race. If the houses of the Largos join the alliance with the other 5 races, it could turn the rouge groups against the other houses of the Largos.
Maybe as some customization for Largos we could pick a house that we belong to(that joined the alliance) and pick a house that we feel is the greatest threat(rouge houses).
Indeed…he could be a member of a rogue house.
And it would be rather interesting if we could pick our nemesis during character creation for Largos.
A Nemesis from different rogue houses that is…
I’m very eager to learn more about Largos…
If anyone gets more info about them, I would really appreciate it!

Funny thing about that guy is he’s the only largos we see in-game that we fight to the death. The others are either friendly, or they bow out before you can kill them. Also, other largos are either named or have ‘largos’ in their title. This guy just had the name Unseen Hunter. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was from a rogue house or something, basically the Svanir of the largos. Maybe they’d be obsessed with tradition and want to remain hidden, while the other houses recognize the need to join the fight.
Yepp, that’s what I was thinking…he could be an outcast or from some ’’rogue’’ house which supports these kinds of things.
Every race in game has ‘’evil side’’.
Sylvari have the Nightmare Court.
Humans have the Bandits.
Norn have Sons of Svanir.
Charr have the Flame Legion.
Asura have the Inquest..
I just want to say thank you ANet for implementing this! Solo and group dungeon, it satisfies everyone!
I like going through dungeons on my own (tis what I did in GW1 with heroes) and I love admiring the work devs put into designing the dungeons and uncovering the secrets within them. This way, I can have this peace and nice relaxed way of gaming within the dungeons restored. Thank you again from myself and a couple of friends from my guild.
@ Zaxares
Great ideas for Tengu! I would also love to see the option to customize the tail feathers, it would be rather interesting, considering how many bird species are out there!
As for Largos mask…they could be using the mask always indeed…having to customize mask instead of face would be interesting…but then again, I am more than curious to know how they might look like under the mask.
Another interesting thing came to my mind…
I was doing an event in Brisban Wildlands with my friend…and there was this event with “The Hunter”…a Largos hunting down the Sylvari patrol…he was killing them.
So we wondered why did he kill them? An entertainment? Or possibility of ‘’evil faction’’ of Largos?
Greetings
I’ve suggested something like this before, regarding male characters in this game and what I’m really lacking to see is the choice between long hairstyles…
I believe that male Humans really need a better choice of long hairstyles…I am tired of hairstyles which make the forehead too short, hardly a few centimetres above eyebrows…and I am tired of seeing shoulder-length hairstyles…plus I don’t like how the ears are sticking out and we can’t even adjust the size of ears.
Having hair which is over shoulder length…reaching waist or over waist would really make our characters unique…and it is something I miss in every game I played…
For a guy I have a really long hair and I would love/appreciate if my character could have the same. I don’t care about clipping, to be honest…female Norn really have a huge variety of long hairstyles and I didn’t find the clipping on them critical at all…
Something like this would really be cool in my opinion :
Having customizable mask would be nice, but I think that it might be used during character creation to decide which house you belong to.
I would love if Largos had some specific facial features…I would love them to remain beautiful, but adding something like gills or little fins (glowing fins-glow pulses like Sylvari glow) on sides of their faces would be interesting…
Glowing eyes would also be nice…
I want to thank ANet for such a lovely back-piece, it really fits my Sylvari perfectly! Plus love the animation on the flower!
@ Konig
Oh I was certain it was the place where they knocked him down! Though yes…according to map that is the place where “Dragon’s Lair” was/is…
I did not read this thread, but it would certainly be an epic fight! Let’s hope ANet considers this…
I would love if Glint’s offspring survived but remained uncorrupted…
Intriguing! I did not know of this…let’s hope the world will expand even more then, this really seems interesting and exciting! Who knows what secrets we’ll uncover in Guild Wars 2!
@ Lokheit
I completely agree! And to be honest, I am really looking forward to learn more about Largos…having an underwater city would be amazing! Besides, their customization could be really, really unique. The ’’fins’’ and different skin patterns…perhaps little adds like glowing antennae’s, used by predatory fish from the depths of the seas/oceans. Such large underwater content would be amazing…
Tengu and Largos definitely…it’s just a matter of time! Though I am really eager to get my hands on both races xD And like you said, they are 100% clean to become a new playable race!
Character creation for Tengu would really be awesome! I assume that male Tengu would be more like birds of prey or so? While females would have ’’softer’’ faces and smaller beaks? Maybe bigger eyes, no tusks? Male Tengu=Eagle, Female Tengu=Falcon…or so…
As of Margonites, after Abaddon’s defeat they were still hostile towards the player, yes…but there was one particular quest in Torment…given by the Apostate (if I remember correctly)…it was a friendly Margonite…who found out about Abaddon’s secrets and did not want to follow him…where the other Margonites cast him out and aimed to kill him…you as a player get to aid that Apostate…
Kralkatorrik is reaaaaally huge! The brand really shows how big he is and I hope his appearance in game won’t be disappointing like Zhaitan, who was hardly bigger than our airship…
I also wonder when and if we will be able to see the huge hole in Crystal Desert where Kralkatorrik fell…
@ Randulf
That’s an interesting thought…
What happened to Glint’s offspring? Did they all die? Did they all get corrupted? Or are they going to help players against the other Dragons?
A part of personal story where you get to ride one of these against Kralkatorrik would be awesome… o.o
