Dificult content should have better rewards, and raids are harder than losing in pvp or following a zerg in wvw.

This is a fallacy, as has been mentioned you can buy raid boss kills just for example.

You aren’t being realistic for 99% of the community, stop mentioning this.

Why should only raiders be entitled to legendary armor?

I think WvW players SHOULD have WvW armor but that isn’t the point. Its WHAT is needed to do in order to get it is vastly different in difficulty that it completely invalidates PvE acquistion.

Raid armor will have exclusive skins, but for many people the possibity to change stats/runes was even more important than skins. Now we have lost this exclusivity.

I could at least understand making legendary the wvw armor that requires rank 2k, but making legendary a wvw t2 armor which you can get in a few weeks? Although the same could be said about pvp, you don“t have to win, just play enough games and you will get all you need.

I have only one last question, how many games do you have to lose in spvp to get a full legendary armor? And now tell me if legendary armor has not lost a great part of its prestige.

Its a huge slap in the face man. I’ve never been this upset in this game the 5 years I’ve played it. This is ridiculous.

You can afk rewards in raids too. It doesn’t take 10 players to kill bosses.

There’s also people who literally walk people through the raid achievements for gold. Close to zero effort spent on actually learning the mechanics and game mode to earn Legendary Armor.

Are you serious? Dude, even if that were the case you still need 150 LI boss kills, in order to pay for all that you’d need over thousands of gold in order to spend thousands of gold to craft your legendary armor. You make 0 sense and less than 1% of the community is willing to do that or can do that.

I don’t care if you think it makes sense. I think it’s crazy just as you do but it does happen.

What you’re suggesting isn’t logical for 99% of this games community.

Yeah, be freaking realistic here. Who has the gold to buy all that? No one I know has enough to buy 150 LI boss kills which you’re already hard-capped every week anyway. Stop suggesting people spend thousands of gold to be able to spend thousand + gold to craft PvE Legendary armor. Maybe less than .3% of the community has that kind of money or gold to pay for that when the average xera buy it 250g+

Its not easier, at least not now.

Are you kidding me? Its WAY easier now. They even increased the time until participation decays now because people whined about it. Now I can literally hit dolyaks and go afk away for another 5 minutes until the next yak comes my way. It invalidates the amount of skill/time required to do these boss fights in raids compared to having to hit a dolyak/afk for 5 minutes rinse and repeat.

No its not. WvW ascended gear is time gated and to get a full set takes a minimum of 2 months. This feature also does not add any new Legendary skin/effect. Also the wvw gear requires 3 grandmasters marks each.

On the otherhand I saw people with legendary armor as soon as it came out.

I think its fair.

2 things, it takes a lot more effort for coordinated raids when it was released, consisting of TONS of hours of people trying to coordinate and not a simple system that rewards you on NO matter the game play/guarantee AKA pip system" compared to the level of coordination and time put into raids through members having to kill bosses every week. Thats vastly harder than having to afk pip-farm for your tickets VASTLY. Its a huge slap to those people who worked really hard for their Legendary Armor and with WvW/PvP its almost GUARANTEED no matter your skill level. That invalidates the worth of Original PvE Legendary armor by a giant margin IMHO.

2.) People got legendary armor on day 1 because they had all that was required for HALF A year of doing raids. So, whatever you stated doesnt make sense because they had so much time to put in the effort/prepare for gifts/things needed.

This is ridiculous if this is true how easy its going to be for someone to afk farm for their equivalent “legendary stat swapping armor”

I almost feel like they could have started Living World off with being paid content, even if it was a smaller fee but it could have generated more money to make each episode even bigger or just that extra revenue made. Its just a shame the gemstore is failing them hard.

I think you’re mixing two different things up and keep going on about bringing back people. This game’s population feels to be growing but the gemstore is the problem when it comes to revenue. Veteran players have no use for the gemstore because gold is so easy to come by in this game and all the incentives to buy, they already own or just exchange for gems. They have a major currency issue and not enough satisfying gold sinks. They have too many other currencies doing (golds job) which provides that surplus of gold to sync into the gemstore which..loses them money as a company. The mass majority of my guild rarely buys gems because they just exchange their gold that has been accumulating and no real sink to go into anymore. How can they fix this problem? I’m not sure, they feel like they’re already too deep in the water when it comes to commitment for cash flow systems (other than making a expansion) The retention of selling LS3 might have gain them more money than making it free. $10 dollars a episode every 2-3 months would have been reasonable but they give too much away for free. This game has the best user friendly experience I’ve ever witness in a MMO but whoever handles financial obligations for generating revenue has been doing a very poor job for the company and could do be doing so much better to generate revenue as a whole. Can you imagine if they even sold each episode for even $5 dollars not even $10. Lets just say 50,000 users buy it (if that many still exist) that would net them a very sustainable profit form just that.

10/10, this episode BLEW ME AWAY! The last instance was particularly amazing and completely unexpected. This revitalized the game for me story wise (along with LS3 E1. The new map? I love everything about it, so much lore, so much everything. I havent begun to explore it fully but hopefully the consistency stays the same for future releases! Amazing!

If ANET plans on keeping adding more current events to lineup, it would be nice to have a option to click on and off telling us whats newly activated. Some current events dont even show up unless the event is started in the first place, so many people missing out on these current events. To make it more engaging, I suggest a tab in the right hand corner that can be toggled on and off to show you current events active or at least most active event, this will produce better results with trailing people along with these things in the long run.

I would say that theyre literally killing it. Nothing has really brought the game “back to life”. Seems like they just ran out of ideas and have no idea wat to do…

I dont know where you’re getting that from, lol. All this seems highly pre-meditated Gw1 lore tied in with Heart of Thorns/Raid story. Everything mechanics wise of new map seems really promising.

Perhaps have a boss be immune to hard dps for 5-10s, so condis will only do, vice versa and other combinations to make it more engaging skill experience, just not numbers but a mechanics game! GL

Suggest: They bosses need to make it so people have use more then just autoattack to attain the highest dps otherwise most fights will remain this 1-4 class must haves, make the boss challenging and having people to think of different combinations/classes needed to do things or get past things. For example, have a boss that disables peoples healing ability/elite skills for certain amount of seconds..so in term people will have to think about what else they could use to compensate..which gives diversity in skills. Or make it so that a boss needs to have a engineer for a specific reason. Give a little more dynamic-ism to the fight for classes to brainstorm. Good luck and keep up the hard work.

Also, to note, too much whining is going on in this thread. I’m looking for constructive feedback and what would be viable changes that could be made.

1.) I don’t think adding another condition such as torment, poison, bleed, chill, and confusion would be beneficial with current traitlines.

Cripple I suggested my mace changes to synergize with dragonhunter traitlines.

Burning I added this to some of the weapon abilities to work with burning traitlines as is.

Agreed for the most part, but Sword’s auto attack is strong and it synergizes well with VoJ. That doesn’t compensate for the other skills being so weak though. The main issue of the Sword though is the… MACE.

Unreasonable changes here, the mace is in a very good spot, it’s a defensive weapon but still is way TOO strong. The auto attack may be slow, but it HEALS you. You can maintain almost 100% uptime of Symbol traited, and it’s DpS is just too much if you get someone to stand still the entire time (you get a lot of boons/damage from symbol traits), which isn’t rare in PvE.

People still use it for WvW. It’s an overall balanced weapon, weaker in the damage side, but the weapon might be suffering the same as Sword, it’s being overshadowed by the Longbow.
Better range, damage, slower symbol, same control if not better. It can’t heal, but it’s very situational (Empower + AH is almost another heal every 16~20 secs) and Orb of Light kinda sucks to aim, it should be like LB’s #3 for better support.

I’m also in favor of buffing/changing the Sword, I like the look/style of it (Sword n Shield Guardian!) but I can’t really find any decent reasons to pick it over Mace (I’m not comparing 1H with 2H).

Do you even realize the problems with those weapons ?

Sword
The 3rd AA often misses, has such a narrow cone it cannot hit more then one target & can be reflected back at you.
The number 2 while decent for mobility does almost no damage
The number 3 roots you in place, doesn’t actually block anything, the projectiles it fires are so slow they can be sidestepped if beyond 400 units and is a net DPS loss.

The mace
The healing it does does not scale at all and is crap compared to warrior mace because damage reduction > healing.
The number 2 requires you and allies to stand in place which in this game will often mean you take more damage then you heal.
The number 3 only blocks a single attack for any ally within its radius, this can easily lead to stopping a low damage attack on an ally at the cost of getting nuked yourself.

The staff.
Extremely low damage potential
Healing potential is a joke in comparison to druids, ventari revs and healing engineers/ele’s.
Might stacking roots you in place making you a prime target (can also be done much easier by warriors, ele’s, & rev’s.
The swiftness symbol requires you to stand in place for 4 seconds to get a movement speed buff _(its extremely counter productive)

Yeah, I pretty much overviewed the flaws in lots of the Guardian weapons and why people dont use them. What do you think about my suggested changes and do you have anything to add/revamp yourself! Please post up! : D

1.)1H Sword MAKE it viable again in PvE, PvP, WvW, the damage is negliable compared to everything else being used right now (hammer, gs, longbow).

Auto Attack - Keep everything the same up to sword wave, if you’re able to land the x3 blow you also grant yourself retaliation or maybe 1-2 stacks of vulnerability.

Flashing Blade I suggest not only blinding the foe but immobilizing for 2-3 seconds to compliment (binding jeoparody trait), this would also give a good setup for Zealot’s Defense

Zealot’s Defense I suggest a complete rework of this, buff the damage output greatly since its rooted and has a hard time landing all the blows (maybe make each of the magical projectiles apply burning damage). Its probably the most useless thing in raids, pvp, and wvw.

The sword needs more synergy with the rest of the traitlines, as is..its not very effective.

2.)STAFF - No one, and I mean no one uses this weapon anymore, it just isn’t good in many game types. How many ways there are to be able to be mobile and stack might?. I understand the theme is to be supporting with this weapon but also give it good. The only time its used is to farm lots of mobs. It needs a rework to be viable again, I have only 2 suggestions.

Orb of LightMake this not only defense but offense, when you denotate the orb, let it do massive burning damage, or at least a considerable amount. Maybe 2-5 stacks?

Empower Since we have heralds now to keep our might up while mobile 24/7 this skill isnt very useful anymore. If you want it to make it slightly useful..let it be a mobile channel (aka while running) it will changes things up for WvW’s, PvP’s, Instead of all the might stack, change it to maybe a ligher duration version of SAVE YOURSELVES for allies instead, 5 seconds duration perhaps?

3.) MACE; – This is a very very slow weapon, extremely hard to use in PvP, WvW, and in most instances were HoT enemies are more mobile. To correct this problem I see 1 or 2 things changing.

AUTOATTACK - Since the mace is so slow, maybe adding a 1-2 second cripple at the end of the chain rotation, this way we can actually have a change to melee target a bit, and setup for the Protector’s Strike

Protector’s StrikeBoost Damage even more, maybe up to 10-15% and higher the CD a bit, let it be feared and punishable. This is such a easy tell hardly anyone falls for it. Maybe even give it a bit of a wind up so people can tell its coming but it would compliment the autoattack change because the target will desperately be trying to get away with “cripple” applied

4.) SPIRIT WEAPONS A rework, a reimagining, maybe making them summonable like ele weapons but only for Guardians to be able to pick up, give them skills correlated with trait- lines

5.) TRAPS Just make sure these are looking balanced for rest of competitive play, and future WvW updates.

Bosses aren’t following tank in path 1, tried on multiple attempts but VG keeps getting stuck in certain places over and over. Toughness check has been done repeatedly. Send bug in but wondering if anyone else has had any issues?

Poison Bomb Icon>>>> Needs to be turned to a contrasting color instead of Green (Green on Green is really hard to see when so much is flying at you)

Rock Wall>>>>> that closes off Encounter it bugs your camera super bad to the point where you cant see anything because everyones crammed in one part of the map for that 10-15s. (The camera pushes you super close inside your character or even goes FPS mode immediately and get punished by Slothasors donkey kong AOE ground smash.

Other then that I’m enjoying Wing 2 very much so, keep up the good work guys I cant wait to fight the other encounters!

10/10, my games stuck with the map selection screen and so is my party’s. We even relogged, restarted our client and tried to move away from PvP to PvE or WvW, nothing works..its permanently stuck in the middle of the screen. Reported bug, I wont play otherwise.

Wow, its a pretty far off in its figures they wanted. This tells me this game isn’t living up to expectation for many people. Its sad but the numbers don’t lie, regardless of building new systems and what not, this was their 1 chance to bring back customers..its extremely hard to come back in this industry if you don’t succeed 2nd try.

It would require 700+ gold to outright buy just this component (as anyone making new legends need 250 of them) (Yes I am aware supply/demand but this is ludicrous). To mine it out or otherwise try for unsure ways of getting the materials would take a extreme amount of hours that isn’t engaging gameplay at all (not fun in the slightest that discourages me to even play this game anymore). The whole journey to get my legendary was reasonable for me, engaged me to play lots of different areas to get the things I needed along the way, THIS isn’t balanced in game since its such a infrequent variable in drops. All this has done is get me super kittened and want to stop playing the game all together, there is no incentive anymore, it feels not worth the time and effort. Any suggestions?

The game keeps crashing during big meta event chains endings, almost everyday in the masses. Whats the issue going on here? Lots of people in my guild getting frustrated at the point in not wanting to do these long chains anymore.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen, I been trying to get that chest piece since HoT dropped and to know I’m limited to stupid RNG, this only trashes my hopes even more. Why wouldn’t they’ve added it to the Itzel lore vendor? The rest is there, it doesn’t make sense. ADD UNIQUE rewards to these bosses. I am sorely disappointed I won’t be getting this chest piece in the near future. OR better suggestion is to make it part of a hard to get achievement, that I can deal with this is..just terrible. I have no confirmations of people getting it from the events either.

Most of the complaints are justified, and you’re not really seeing the big problem with this failure of an expansion, which is the eternal grinding that’s required in order to make progress, not to talk about the astronomical amounts of hero points you need to unlock the features that everyone has been looking forward to trying.

Sure, you’re having fun while exploring now, but good luck with the endless and painful grinding sessions that are required in order to progress.

ArenaNet kittened up, because even though you’re having fun, I dare to say that there’s a huge amount of people that aren’t having fun at all.

Please complain to me after saying that after a week, its only been 2 days, I’ve played a total of 8 hours over 2 days and Im already 70% done with my elite spec, 6 Mastery levels in, this is not a grindfest, your masteries are account bound, do them once, done for all alts.

Yes, you can’t get everything after 2 days like every other map they’ve given, MASTERIES are account bound, once you have them, you have them for all characters and it will be x10 easier to get Hero Challenges for elite specs if you so desire. I can’t believe people calling this a grindfest, you get natural progression that feels rewarding…giving you gliding, mushrooms, pact mastery, speed mushrooms, etc..abilities to level up instead of a arbitrary LVL increase that gives you a few boring stats extra. I can’t believe people are wanting to be spoon-fed everything after 2 days, thats blowing me away. IF they did people would complain it was too easy. I feel sorry for ANET its simple catch 22 with this forum community, nothing will appease them, I see no logic in their reasons.

The only thing I would agree with is 400 points is steep but everything else is not. Its been 2 days, Im 6 mastery points leveled, 70% elite spec done. This is NOT a grind I been naturally progressing through each area and exploring new zones, events, etc.

I was really disappointed with how much time it is going to take to unlock the elite specs. I dont want to just be handed it, but I had pre-expansion map completion which is a pretty heavy time investment and even then I only made it 46% of the way through the track. I dont have a ton of time to play anymore and I wish that I didnt have to grind hero points for a week or two before I can play chrono in what I was really excited for, fractals.

Its been 2 days?! you’re already at 46%?! How is this long?!

Should I purchase HOT or wait?

The grind isn’t immense, its relatively easy to attain this. Masteries are account bound, so all your characters (very alt friendly) and its rewarding after getting them. Its only been 2 days and Im already 6 points in with gliding, mushroom jumping, itzel lore, etc and 70% of my elite spec already done with 80% Verdant Brink map completion. The meta events are extremely engaging if you push them to the limit of the whole map meta (get with parties/guilds/coordinated people) The RNG isn’t terrible as there’s for sure ways to get thing with map currencies. So far, I’ve run into no bugged events.

Its been 2 days? How has it been a grindfest? I love the self-entitlement of people who are asking to be spoon-fed and having no progression. MASTERIES are account bound, do them once and all your characters have them and it will become x10 easier to get those hero points you need in maguuma for the rest of your characters. This has been the smoothest expansion release I’ve witnessed imho, it could be ALOT worse (yet there’s nothing that has gone wrong?) if you’re experiencing a lagfest, check your connection (my guildies have reported barely any to little lag at all) So again, I fail to see the arguement after only being 2 days and Im already 6 MPs in and 70% done with my Elite Spec (I’ve played a total of 8 hours over 2 days).

Its been full everytime I tried to switch maps, so I dont think its empty, just people are spread out and trying to figure things out. My guild and I managed tons of meta events today and it was extremely fun and filled with people all day (we actually had to push to a different map because the other one was full).

How does Verdant Brink work?

daytime, each encampment area has a meta event to be pushed I believe 5 in total, the night time happens and you have to hold on/upgrade your encampments. You push the security level and then go up into the canopy to take out all the 5 bosses in the map. I haven’t witnessed past security level 2 but my guild and the people in the map were so close to pushing it to security level 3 (3/5 bosses defeated) and not sure what happens afterward.
