I usually don’t get too upset by it, but it’s just getting too frequent. If I just go random unranked and even ranked, I get more games that are 4/5 or worse than full games, it’s extremely annoying.

It is related. People mainly just leave because its pointless to fight the same OP classes every single day. Yes, I’m pointing at you ele and mes. Until they balanced out all classes dps especially the 2 that I mentioned, people will just insta leave because there’s no point fighting a team of 3 mes and 2 ele while your team compromised of rangers,thief and engi. Some classes/build are so broken even keyboard turners can have a killstreak by pressing few buttons without the needs of aiming(due to its insta cast and ai targeting). The skill bar has never been so low, this is the lowest of all. Who jumps first wins, that’s the meta now.

so? in absolutely every online game, even if it’s a magical perfectly balanced one, ppl will find ways to whine and quit. The answer is simple: punish leavers.

Yes, some of the reasons to quit are more valid then others, but that doesn’t justify leaving.

I can guarantee you, that even in the game that has been regarded by many to have near perfect balance (StarCraft Broodwar), ppl would’ve simply quit games because they deemed sth. to be imba and got annoyed.

I can also guarantee you that even if they fix the problems you’ve addressed above, ppl would still quit games if it’s not punished – that’s just what ppl do on the internet.

Why the kitten are you bringing other games into this when we can just compare with the previous patches. Although certain build(shoutbow) before thikittenus patch arrive were OP, people rarely quit, because even though you gonna lose through point you’ll still be able to play. Unlike this patch where everyone that gets jumped will 95% die most of the times, and where fight ends in 5 secs it is just plain boring, hence the casuals quitting left and right.

Me and some guys did this yesterday, by making your target teleporting in and out of fire fields by using rev skill. We manage to reach 123 burn stack on a player, but failed to see the damage as the target keeps on teleporting that you don’t really see the burn damage tick as he instantly drop. Only way to see it is by clicking him and see the burn stack goes up.

I’m starting to see how strong it could be but I wonder how realistic the stacks will truly be in a competitive scene.

Guardians can reach a burn burst of 35 stacks in a group setting but we all know that this can mever happen realistically. That said, say goodbye to Lords and NPC’s.

Realistically speaking, stab+dodge rolling away will nullify this most of the part. And the fact that it is pretty hard to nail this with positioning the rev skill+fire field on a moving target. However, npc that are CCable will be blown to bits instantly. All you need is 2 rev and an ele. Heck, even just a rev and a ele is doable since it’ll just take 2-3 secs more than the latter to set it up, but hey its npc and its pretty dumb to begin with.

So again, of course they are worthless. I hope Anet either allow us to save two seperate builds for the maps or have separate queues because it aint going to be fun joining on a bunker build in Stronghold.

If you want to run something tanky, use celestial ele.
-superior mobility
-superior survivability
-good damage
Is also good at stronghold.

Bunker guard is bad at any gamemode (sPvP) and any other bunker build is even worse. It’s always funny to see bunkers on the enemy team because they’re just useless, on your own team not so much though.

Sorry but cele ele is trash in this mode. Mobility/stealth/range wins pretty much. And who else excels in this non other than mesmers. Its just bullkitten how anet failed to overseer this matter, and still not doing anything about it. GW2 stealth and instant cast has never been something I like, and now anet is kittening themselves up with balancing through this kitten. Its like nothing they do will matter since the mechanic of certain classes is just too broken in certain area.

Mesmer aren’t that strong at high level tpvp but the blind through everything should be fixed just like they did for the ranger taunt.
A simple fix to the annoyance level of the class would be to make any phantasm apply reveal to the mesmer if they hit anything meaning the mesmer would have to shatter before stealthing

mesmers carry in “high level tpvp”. meaning that a benchwarmer like backpack can learn it a week and carry the Abjured. only at Arenanet. ESPORTS!

Along with elementalist they do have some of the most OP traits and it’s a low risk high reward class but it seems to me that a well played thief will often win the burst spot in a team over mesmer because of the venom sharing and better decap potential.

Nope. Here’s what you need to know, benchwarmer Backpack has never touch mesmer in his years of playing gw2. He got to touch it for a week and the match get one sided with his appearance on a mesmer. His 1200 range burst took opponent ele down to 30% health from 100%. And this is not even a full burst, just a random burst from 1200 range. Put that with a well placed time warp and a spammable daze that stun and deal damage at the same time.

That just show how powerful mesmer is atm. Remember shoutbow war? That is how mesmer is now, you only need to be a little good at it and you’ll be way over effective to your team and carry the match/team fights by your own. How the kitten can you guys defend this kitten, when it is already being displayed how powerful it is by some of the best team in NA.

Ugh… This combo is kinda old, and it waste lots of your initiative, not to forget one trick phony that die if your burst failed. I may be wrong but I assume he started his burst with melee range Sneak Attack after entering stealth(which you don’t realize it, zero awareness omg), immediately to Shadow Strike>Shadow Strike>Steal>Shadow Strike>Infil. With the sigils proc the damage is kinda ok, slightly lower than S/D or S/F Ele, hence not to the point it needs to be nerfed.

Power lock mesmer still does more damage, more survival ability and definitely less risk. I don’t understand why you make this thread and this video and asking for nerf when you don’t even know what really happened.

p/s: Please… you’re the noob that died in the video. Your youtube and gw2 account name is the same. Who the kitten video himself getting bursted, edited it and transfer(lol) to you so you can post it on your account?

Yea I kinda like this, instead of shapeshifting into it you’ll just ground target it(like meteor/frostfield), and it’ll act like the current skill, but the projectile differ from the attunement you’re in while using it.

Even with incoming revenant stuff it could be a ground targeting ability that could be controlled by tapping where you can it to go as revenant’s ventari skills

The ability to control it will make it have a long cooldown, beside I’m not a fan of GW2 Ai, I mean just look at ranger pets ai. I would prefer it to be a ground target ability with 30/45s cd, which also act as a combo field depending on your attunement when you use it. Kinda sick and tired with ele elite with long kitten cd and not really that good to begin with. All of them are situational.

AI has nothing to do there, you control where the AoE goes. I think that 120s cd and giving to you the capacity to move up and down can be a nice upgrade, I just think an AoE tornado staying there can be good holding points, but useless in a fight situation where you can easily avoid the AoE and throw the cd (the fact is it will never have a 35/40s cd, i can see it with a 90s cd, easily wasted except in a situational scene as all other ele elite skills)

EDIT: I mean, just think about it… An unblockable CC AoE of 15s duration that you can move at will with a 120s cooldown that can easily go into 96 with traits? Sounds awesome to me

Idk, the ai control in this game is clunky. Yes, your suggestion say you can control where it goes, question is how fast will it go there? From my experience with this game ai(ranger pets), even if you sort of “control it” that kitten will go so slow to the target and still need a movement/trigger animation, which when it ends your target can just sidestep to avoid it. From paper your suggestion might be good, but from how Anet work I doubt it’ll even be that good.

Anet need to make evasive arcana and elemental enchantment as baseline, then I’ll be happy. If not, we’re still stuck with Water – Arcane – x with Cele amulet in order to be competitive. Anything else just won’t cut it, either you’re not doing damage or you’ll just die too fast.

There’s really no way to kill that mes with that thief build in the video, possible on bad players but on equal footing no. One thing to take into consideration, the thief need to be more glassy/no survival ability in order to one shot the mes, if he failed he’ll die. The mes however, doesn’t need to go pure glass, he can play pure defensive like the one in the video and still able to kill anyone. There’s no more risky play style for high reward for mes right now, you can play defensive as a mes and still kill people. Heck, even going pure dmg you’ll still survive better than most classess/build as a mes.

Tbh, I blame it all on the fact that we can maxed out 3 trait line. Lots of OP kitten comes out due to that.

I agree with OP, but in reality this won’t happen… Mainly because casuals will cry on how they won’t be able to finish their daily because they can’t win a single pvp matches. And those guys are the one to “buy” gems for Anet. Its funny how Anet wanted to cater to casuals and promote well behaving when these are the guys that trash talked after a 5v2 hotjoins matches daily. Game balancing are mainly focused on pve players now since they are the one “that dish out the dough”, just forget about being competitive.

You need to also remember Moba matches are usually an hour long, and all of their attack are telegraph and the most important thing is ALL OF THE HEROES HAVE A FIX BUILD, only thing differentiating them is the item used.

GW2 will never be on those Moba eSports level simply due to there’s too much instant skill, too many variety of builds and the worst part is too many passive play/damage. None of my friends would watch me play GW2, but most of them like it when I play dota/LoL because it is easier to understand and the skills is on how you control your heroes, unlike GW2 it is all about the passive play.

Actually, I’m completely fine with all of the damage of rampage and the cc. I wouldn’t change that at all.

The only change I would make it so that is shouldn’t have perma stability. It needs more counterplay.

the counterplay is you kite it, and kill it. without many evades and blocks, probably best not to 1v1 and just leave.

This is sad but true. When the only counter to it is running away, it is not balance at all. Imo, the CD is too short for such an overwhelming skill.

This is true, there’s actually an application that will purposely “make you lag” by pressing a button that you’ve setup. It might sound a little crazy but some people refuses to die in this game…

Before you diss rangers, there actually really good rangers. In the hands of good players, ranger is pretty darn good.
Yes the class could use some love, but the rangers you mostly see in pvp are the ones that give the ranger a bad name. Hence, your reply.

Power ranger is like kitten tier in term of dmg now since every class can outdps it, and survive 1000% better than rangers. Power ranger need lots of love.

To make it worse, non of the 3 guys in the video have any clue what’s happening in this game. This is just another bad players video or this video was purposely made like this to show “ELE IS OP PLS NERF QQ”.

^Even a 24k hp guard with 3k+ armor get one shotted in 1 sec. How do you think a cookie cutter build gonna survive? Build diversity is completely gone and there are no more chaining your skill/combos, it is just one or two skill and you’re good to go(which is really bad since the game doesn’t have much button to begin with).

You either go full power/one trick phony to quickly kill off enemies or play a complete defensive/invul traits/skill while depending on conditions/one skill to deal damage.

Lets be real, for all the OP stuff we’re whining right now, it is mostly because of some traits/skill/build, not the class in general. Only a certain build that is making a certain class OP, and if you do intend to make a post about it at least state which part of it is OP, and what needs shaving. This is due to in the past 3 years of game balancing, every single time we asked for toning down the damage of a certain class, Anet decided to nerf something unnecessary that shouldn’t be nerf at all while buffing the stuff that needs to fixed.

Please don’t forget burning is NOT the only issue now, there are lots of stuff that is wrecking this game atm. Engi nade bugs, mesmer oneshotting everyone in stealth while being invul/stealthed most of the times, rampage war and lots more. Basically everything that has no counter to it, the only counter to it is running away which pretty much sums it up for the new meta right now.

With the recent buff, almost every class has a build that can instagib someone in 0.5 sec, and you want OP to stand still for a sec to activate the skill? Lol.

So far from what I understood, he’s complaining about frequency of such spike damage from one class.

Omg wow if this is about frequency of spike damage from one class, then thief is out of the question. What about the 5k burn tick from d/f ele, guard and engi that can be reapplied in a few sec? What about the power shatter mesmer that able to do 12-15k each burst and is repeatable instantly while staying stealthed=no counter to it at all?

There’s none that fit what you want. You have to choose either small fights/80 man blobs. Not that any of that matter because everyone roam in a group of 10 while using the most cheese build they can find, while blob fights consist of a 80 man+10 acs.

This game has lost it touch like 2 years ago, just don’t bother to get serious and just get on and play around for a min and two and immediately logoff.

You guys forgot the fact that these conditions can be applied in a few seconds after it got cleanse. Bad part is most cleansing skill cooldowns are over 25s. Even if you nerfed the sigil/runes, it will still be overpowered. The fact that we already have kittenload of conditions, adding this is just plain dumb when the damage tick itself without you needing to do anything but to just apply it, which is superbly easy considering most skill that apply conditions are AoE and high range.

And seriously, what’s with all the thief counters all these OP build? I laugh at thief right now since they are food for everyone. Remember War when they were trash tier? That’s how I view thief now. The only thief build that bring something to the team is venom share, everything else is pointless with this new meta.

Multiple duels with multiple classes in sPvP. This build have a huge sustain with massive offensive playtime with good dps as long as you make use on every skills available. I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I have to say goodbye to the old bunker build.

One of the first steps that needs to be done to rectify this situation: move the Elemental Attunement trait back to Adept … OR … make Elemental Attunement a standard baseline that’s included but self-only and change the trait to apply boons to nearby allies.

The trait is fine as it is. It is a powerful trait hence why it is moved to Master instead of Adept. And making those boons as a standard baseline will only make certain build to be overpowered. Example? Diamond skin builds and s/d burst. This will just make ele too easy to play again and make it braindead and getting another nerf that is not needed just because you wanted one trait to be changed.

Beside, don’t forget the fact that why most people pick Elemental attunement instead of other trait in Master is because every other trait in Master suck balls. How about buff/change those trait so more builds will be available.

That’s because it is not suppose to deal huge damage. It is a setup skill for other skill, to position your enemy and you. What skill do it sets up? Think yourself. Too many spoon feed in this forum making everyone runs the same build that are overhyped from a youtube video.

Yes, like all those trillions hp boss will die faster to conditions that is capped. Smart guy. Zerker changes doesn’t affect pve. Pve is dumb, the ai is stupid, its the same trillion hp boss that 1 shot people, nothing interesting about it. The only reason people farming it is because of gold and loots. Now imagine all the gold and loots from those bosses is dropped by players you kill in wvw.

This is wrong. It is not because the game isn’t balanced for 1v1, it is simply because Anet can’t do kitten about it because if they did, it’ll ruin some of the original codes created by the previous devs. There is a reason why there is no trade option, just mail if you intend to trade stuff with your buddies.

First of all, this thread is to thank Anet devs for the nerf on crit damage. It is unimaginable to get killed by power user in 4 second while at the same time a condition user can kill me in 6 second. That 2 second differences really justify why power/zerker stats need to be nerfed!

As 90% of the player base are, I am a dire perplexity user and I am not happy on how my stats distribution are. In order to get the best damage output as a condition user, I only need to concentrate on one stats which is condition damage. This leaves me being able to get full vitality and toughness to maximize my survival ability. It is so under powered to being able to get maximize damage while getting maximize survival ability as a condition user!

While looking at power/zerker build, to get the best damage output one need to focus on 3 stats which are precision, power and crit damage. This leaves them no room for defensive stats, and that is overpowered! Hence, the future nerf on crit damage is superbly a genius move Anet devs, bravo!

Just to correct you…

Actually conditions themselves doesn’t need a nerf (like bleeding dealing too much damage to handle). Its just that certain professions are very good with overloading targets with various conditions (many of them damage dealing) … which means that its hard for you to cleanse them all while others can simply apply the same few conditions over and over that even if you cleanse them you regain them huge stacks before your condition removal skill is out of CD.

Still, this is possible due to to profession specific skills and certain runes (perplexity for example), not the conditions themselves.

Wrong. Conditions do need a nerf. Either reducing the damage per tick, or making it not being able to reapply 5x faster than you cleanse, or reduce its duration. Stop defending this broken mechanic, it is even worst than defending a D/P blind spam teef. The fact that conditions can burst you down faster than power or on par with power is just total bs. Conditions are supposed to kill your enemy slowly, not bursting through that 20k hp in few seconds.

Problem with D/P is you can go full offensive without worrying about making a mistake while forcing your opponent to go full defensive trying to counter your movement. A decent D/P won’t allow every single thing you said to occur to them. Low risk high reward is what I would call D/P in WvW.

I won’t even try to protect a weapon set that have every weapon skill spells useful if I were you. Easiest weapon set is easiest.
