Most of the Phoenix weapons are gigantic compared to other sets. I agree that the Phoenix Hammer is probably the biggest hammer in the game right now. The Phoenix Greatsword possibly too.

No rifle comes close to dethroning the Charrzooka so far, however.

Pretty sure the Fractal GS is probably the biggest. The mistforged GS is massive also, probably the bigger than the Fractal, but we won’t see it for another week or so.

The recent tormented great sword is monstrous and has great particle effects. I run that on my charr and it’s too big for him and he is as big as you can make a charr.

These are all for sale already….I had 15 scraps so I bought the greatsword but for gold you can get it for 80. Since many people seem to be avoiding BLTP chests, these skins should climb so within a week they will be at their cheapest.

The staff is pretty cool but I have the Pact and Death Wish (I think that’s its’ name), I don’t need another staff skin.

In my experience, midnight fire is the darkest hue across multiple armor types….

I would suggest a couple rules: Minimum Bronze General rank to buy a tag. No uplevel toons can sport the tag now that WxP is shared. Commanders MUST be in Team Speak OR have an assigned map chat person.

A nice to have: a rating system that allows those that join the squad of a commander to feed their results into a database that aggregates data and rewards THE COMMANDER AND THE PLAYERS for working well together.

The people who buy things. You complain that others earn more at the TP than farming and you know, you’re right. But what does complaining do for you? It just wastes your time because they will continue to do what they do, that’s how a market based economy operates.

What does your reply to my post have anything to do with my point of seeing a HUGE jump in unid buy orders all on Friday, by the way? Because I posted on another thread that I will continue to buy if the price keeps dropping? Well, it climbed, my last order I paid 17.3 for another 500, today buy orders are filling at 24, I won’t buy again unless they fall.

I also still hold out hope that the 20K silver ore I have will someday by worth something too.

One other point is there may be plans in the offing for unids, imagine chef to 500, what do you think the ascended mat (deldimor/damask/spiritwood equivalent) will be made of? Could dyes play a part? Who knows. It’s all speculation, especially with ANet.

Those buy orders popped four days ago and perhaps it’s one buyer looking for 2 million at a copper each, 2,000 gold tied up in a offer that will never bear fruit to do what? Can that really raise interest enough to capitalize on it? Seems to have worked a little since they are selling for nearly 27 silver again. I could earn about 30% right now if I sold but very soon the short sellers will dump a bunch and we should see it pitch the other way.

I wish we knew how many buyers those 2.7 milion buy orders represented….that or somebody found out news on Friday and went to town.

those 2m buy orders sure arent between 17-21s. The real demand for UIDs (to identify them) hasnt changed and is extremely low. Right now probably more 90% of all dyes bought and sold are for a speculative purpose.

I know you’ve posted you are holding back, that the stockpile is too great and per your post here, the demand is low but how do you know that? You also posted that you think they’ll drop to 5 silver, do you think the majority of the buy orders are at the low end, the 5-10 silver mark?

We saw unidentified dyes drop prices down to 17.3 silver. Currently buy orders at 20.35, sell at almost 24. Thing is, there are 2.7 million buy orders and only 65K dyes being listed.

Where do we think this is gonna land?

Now that the megaserver has spawned, mats are starting to increase in price and this is not because of flippers. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, if you farm intelligently, just farm mats and mob drops, you can easily make 10 gold a day. Easily. 1 powerful blood is 50 silver, an armored shell, 45. Guess what, Orr is full of those but people don’t want to get map completion or “grind”.

You think flippers just arbitrarily select a commodity and invest in it? They work, they spend hours figuring out gaps, then they speculate using their gold, thereby taking gold FROM the economy and strengthening the remainder.

I am not a flipper because it is more effort than I want to expend but I will buy thousands of runes and throw them in the forge, I will take my three mains through Malchor’s and Cursed shore and fill my inventory, I won’t go after a legendary when ascended has the same stats and I won’t chase an investment unless I really think it’s going to turn around or appreciate further.

I’ve been burned, lost lots of gold just playing on the TP but to have massive amounts of gold shouldn’t be your end game. If you think having all the gold in the world is the answer, you belong on the TP. If you want fun, farm, play WvW and EotM, do dungeons or champ events.

Just quit blaming other people’s success for your lack of it……

I’m pretty sure at this point that dyes will stay below 25s for the next 9 months at least. There are simply too many of them and not enough new players in this stagnant game. Only way I see it changing in any significant way is if an expansion is released that draws back a lot of old players and new players alike.

You never know what you’ll need for ascended chef….

And, quite honestly, I don’t care if I hold them for 6 months, it’s no sweat and I will continue to buy them so please, by all means, keep selling them.

Thing is, they used to drop from harvesting, mob drops, champ bags, etc. You restrict the flow below a certain point and demand will very quickly catch up and surpass supply.

Speculation BEFORE the restriction pushed them up to 50+ silver and they were still dropping like mad.

There are several million to burn through, no doubt, but that’s not as many as you think.

EDIT: cheap dyes will also dry up because those that opened all of their unidentifieds and got one or two rares flooded the market with a surplus that was, in essence, useless since they cannot be forged and sell for nearly vendor prices.

I waffled, I hemmed, I hawed, I bought 2100 of them (280 were credited). I will buy a lot more too. When the lifers in this game realize that is doesn’t matter what “they” need and what the new players need, they will see the potential. 5 laurels for unidentified? That’s nuts, 5 days worth of dailies to get one dye that could be banana? My average cost has dipped to under 19 silver each, my target for selling is 65 silver and even if that takes until August, I have no need for the gold, my mains are fully outfitted and I have 1/2 stacks of every tier 6.

Between my ore, dyes and tier 6, I could liquidate today and never need gems again. Dyes are going to be a gold mine, I was wrong when I predicted otherwise.

Forget 80, 59 is the biggest pain in the kitten there is…..80 was easy, you can solo up to Arah. 59, Retribution, is a much different animal

This. Only because I love getting a kickback from my watchwork pick. Honestly, the beauty of infinite tools is a unique skin/animation AND you never have to use backpack space for a pick, scythe or axe again and will never run out mid-node.

Only the watchwork can pay for itself, the rest is pure convenience.

I bought a sigil of accuracy the day before the patch for 1 gold, I love getting 7% crit chance for a 5% price. The sigils are ridiculous now (4 gold for a sigil of fire??) and for runes, the rune of strength and rune of speed are stupid powerful.

Making superior siege is a far better use of your skill points, imo.

I don’t get it. Rune of speed is useful, yes, but powerful? Can you elaborate?

(1): +25 Vitality
(2): +10% Swiftness duration
(3): +50 Vitality
(4): 25% chance to gain swiftness for 15s when hit. (Cooldown: 30s)
(5): +100 Vitality
(6): +20% Swiftness duration; +25% movement speed

Perpetual swiftness? Seriously, with the added vitality, it’s a huge advantage. 6th rune grants me +25% movement speed, 1 in 4 chance of bumping that 125% to 166% movement (swiftness is 133% of movement speed). In a zerg those running this rune, especially rangers, are gonna be in permanent invulnerability with the evade bug giving 2 seconds of invulnerability. I see huge possibilities with this rune.

this increased drop rate is because ascended jewelry keeps getting stalled, my guess is the loot table will be corrected after they release chef 500 and JC500.

The day after patch I bought 500 at 20 silver. With the bonus credits, I am sitting on 770 right now. When they cross 50 silver, and they will, I will divest the 500 I bought. When that point will be, who knows but I will hold until then. The remainder will be held until the price hits a gold or until they drop below 35 silver to rebalance but demand is still holding at 360000 orders with 60K on the market right now, I don’t see them dropping ever again. This is the lowest you will see these and they are currently 24 silver.

This rune is way overpowered…guarantee it gets nerfed.

I have to reneg my earlier comments. I am actually surprised at how quickly they’ve rebounded. I spent 100 gold to get 500 unid’s, I got 264 for free from the patch. Going to divest my ore holdings since I think that JC500 is a LONG way off which is why they made ascended trinkets account bound. Gonna hold my silver but the gold and platinum is going bye bye. Since unid’s are at 23 and climbing and we have to be at peak saturation, I cannot think that these may hit 50 silver.

First, bang up job. Considering the scope of what was done, this patch was exceptional. Let me just say the developers and game designers set the bar very high.

Why do I like this?

- dye system, FANTASTIC, logical, the preview is vastly improved

- two handed weapons, having an extra sigil makes the need to swap out my great sword or staff depending on situation un-necessary

- obviously, combined WvW exp, being able to take advantage of applied fortitude without ranking another 60 times was awesome

- rune and sigil tweaking, ranger runes especially, crit hit sigils, everything seems to have been improved

- pet control, yay!

- ultra, mega, super grandmaster traits, swimming through the sea of undead to uncover 300 extra points of vitality for my guard was great

- only one post patch “patch” (so far), considering what you changed, this is great

I would also plan the order in which you log your toons in post patch. I have 7 level 80s and will be starting with my bank toons, then alts, then my three mains. I did screen caps, color notation and which armor set my three mains are sporting. I am hoping they won’t be stripping the toons and forcing a total re-application of the armor but who knows.

Also, I would take inventory of your 2 handed weapons, you’re getting an extra sigil slot tomorrow for each of them…..

With all the shakeup Tuesday, I think it would be wiser to wait and see. The entire character is being changed, millions of dyes landing at once, trait lines, rune balancing, wardrobe. All the disparate servers moved into a load balancing scenario that’s sure to upset the market and you are worrying about conversion factors?

I don’t think I would worry about the gem to gold market just yet, if anything, buying more gems might be smart if we see serious inflation in any sector.

What? Bone, blood, claws, etc. don’t drop from resource nodes. People wouldn’t use gw2nodes to get those; that was only good for getting orichalcum, ancient saplings, and plants.

I know that but the instance you farm, say Orr for orich and orrian saplings is also the main drop for heavy moldy bags or drops in general from mobs at the tier 5 and 6 level. It will now take longer to farm those areas consistently so those items, along with the node resources, have nowhere to go but up.

And I don’t see how they can possibly be account bound. My ‘dye main’ has every single common and uncommon color and all but about 4 rares. What the hell am I supposed to do with the 500+ unidentified dyes I’m going to get from my other characters when I already have all the colors and can’t sell them? I’m not making 5 Bifrosts…

That’s why I said “once discovered” is another thing. I could be totally wrong but I cannot see ANet handing off potentially hundreds of gold even if the player has to wait 12 months for Unid’d dyes to rebound. I expect 150 or so, if I turn around sell those for 30 silver a pop once the recovery has happened, I earn 45 gold for essentially nothing other than having unlocked already free (via drops) or cheaply purchased dyes. (I am not talking about high ends here as I’ve bought 2 abyss, 2 whites, molten and enameled emblaze which total more than 50 gold on their own)

Again, we’ll all know in a week and a half.

As with any load balancing system, selection is made FOR you. What would the point be of the megaserver if people could still select the instance they wanted? Kind of breaks the idea. As far as prices, yeah, T6 mats will continue to climb (as if 40 silver for a vicious claw isn’t high enough) as farming becomes harder.

I would say prices for rare armor and weapons will also climb since the event schedule is going to be limited. Since they are hitting home cities and 1-15 zones first, there goes the queensdale champ train, the maw and FE.

many people are already duplicating dyes to get UNID dyes. i expect the price to plummet on the patch day due to the market flooded with it , but will go up again not long after that.

Everyone is assuming this, but what if the UIDs Anet provides us are account bound (PvP type UID dyes)? Not saying this is going to happen, but the response would be “interesting” to watch….

I would say since they are nerfing any node mapping or dragon timers with the megaserver plan, I think we are going to see a huge jump in some skins. With potentially millions of dyes hitting the market all at once, the dye market will take a year to recover except for ultra rares.

I have 150 dyes coming my way plus whatever drops in the next 13 days, how many have everything unlocked?

Honestly, I think ANet is going to do away with laurels. It may be 6-12 months out but if you’ve been paying attention, alternate currencies (karma and pvp glory) have been or are getting nerfed, champs won’t be dropping gold, etc. They want to funnel purchases through the TP to improve the gold sink which isn’t enjoyed when purchases are made with glory or karma. Before you start to rail against this statement, think about it. Capping AP makes dailies and monthlies unimportant, no laurels and who cares if it’s a rolling total, once I get my 15000 AP chest, that’s the end for me and there are a ton of people already there.

Merging the wardrobe and the instantiation of “charges” to make changes to your look which looks like it’s going to be a gem item even though they will give some for free to start.

Laurels are gonna get nerfed in some fashion….spend those 500+, I would suggest dyes or WvW experience.

What blows me away is how many people state how there are so many better methods yet offer up no tangible guide that can be followed. This is a well thought out, proven method. If you are going to shoot something down, or claim to have a better/faster method to make gold, lay it out like Vol did.

Tell us HOW you make 100 gold a day on the TP, share your knowledge, your secrets. Anyone can follow what Vol wrote and be successful, perhaps not to the same level but even if they make 50 gold a week, that is a vast improvement on what a lot of people earn.

If you take 50 words to say you can do it better, prove it by writing 500 into a guide, otherwise, move along.

Explain to me how a random number generator is broken? Are you a developer? Do you know how they work? Most use a time stamp seed and pass that into a numerical formula, the result is then parsed against the loot table values. Do you have any idea how hard it would be to “flag” accounts that should or shouldn’t get a boost to the drop engine?

Also, when you bought the game, did someone promise you a legendary or precursor as I didn’t see that in the EULA I accepted when installing the game. To that end, how can you expect that you are going to get one or claim the engine is broken.

Read my last point, no one owes you anything when you are dealing with RNG. It would be like arguing that because you spent $500US in a slot machine the casino owes you a mega prize. Good luck with that.

Okay, gonna get flamed for this but so what, nothing new there. IF people are claiming to have NEVER gotten an exotic drop, post your stats, like hours played and magic find. If you sell all of those blues and greens because you think magic find doesn’t work, you’re wrong, it does work, to get caught up, salvage a bunch of ecto.

Now, the second point, if you think RNG is against you in some way, that you don’t have a “lucky account” or the powers that be hate you in some way, think again, there’s no trick to RNG, it is what it is, for all of us. How many of you can predict how many times heads will come up out of 10,000 flips, I’ll tell you, none of you can.

Third, IF you know the gods are against you, ANet black balled your account or some other bull-kitten, why do you whine so much? Is a legendary or precursor going to make you envied by all? Increase your performance or make you a better player? No chance so your whining is just wind, worthless and undermining to those that have a more positive attitude about things.

Entitlement is a sad, sad thing, no one owes you anything so it’s time to man/woman up and just play the game and try to have fun doing it. The Jones will always have greener grass and a nicer house if you actually care about that kitten.

Gonna add one other profitable event series in Cursed:

1) Defend Pact Tactician Megill from the Risen (80)
2) Burn the scattered Pact corpses to honor the fallen (80)
3) Escort Tactician Megill to safe ground (80)

Average about 20 heavy moldy bags and plenty of other drops and spawns often.

I did this for months but it gets real boring. Protip: not only the staff guardian can pull this off. Strangely enough I got the same – if not better – results on my ranger, who has an amazing kitten -nal (kittenfilter!) of tagging options if you know your stuff.

Yeah, volley with a long bow and good timing can work miracles both in event and WvW farming.

Exceptional Vol, Orr has always been my favorite zone for farming and ironically use my guard for that. Thank you for not being greedy or secretive forever, you’ve always provided very sagely advice and I appreciate it.

I also appreciate that you show that it takes work, research and time to achieve the goal and that you aren’t posting a “fad diet” if you will. Doubtless that people will complain in some form that they can’t just press CTRL+G and click a node/NPC to get instant treasure.

One question though, does this mean you are retiring from the farming game?

Celestial price was at 23-27g 1 week ago, then the price spiked to +50g but the next day the price dropped to +40g. Now you say it cost 30g.

Now tell me, what should you do? I sold 1 for 46g a few day ago.

And remember, the price fluctuated between 19-27g when you needed 1 dye for each character. Now most people already unlock it and they no longer need to buy more so the answer is clear to me.
