Hey lord, are you a thief?
Really though, it takes a lot of time and skill to master ele. Why aren’t you first complaining about the classes who do the same thing a lot easier?
Since they won’t remove it, I think what needs to be done is make all classes have the same abilities while downed. An interrupt, a slow heal, and a low dmg attack. They can’t balance classes in normal combat why are they going to even attempt it with downed state. The concept is for a teammate to come save you, why does it need to be complicated. I think that’s the only fix to make it normalized.

Does it? How do you stealth with a torch? How is that thief like?
I agree with you on thief, the only way that is fixed is lowering the dmg on dd because they can’t overhaul initiative. I play elem and eng, and those require way more than 2 buttons. I just want more types of games. Every map is the same kitten over and over, just different landscape.
What I don’t get is, you knew well before release what the game was about. You knew how the abilities worked, and the type of Pvp we would have. What class are you playing that spams the same abilities?

I think 10% would have been justified, until they add the weapon stats. They just do kitten kitten backwards at that studio.
Why can’t they turn their attention to the warrior and thief builds that pretty much drop people in a few hits. I dont get why people think that’s OK.
With the shield idea, shields now are off-hand weapons, but they can add main hand shields but just design them differently so they could be considered weapons
Like someone mentioned blade around them or wtv.
Then we can introduce pandas, goblins and worgen!
I don’t get why people can’t just play the game. Its a bunker build that is their purpose! Same goes for glass cannons, they all sacrifice something to be better at what they do. Yes, some things need to be toned down on both sides, but not by much.
If you are talking about them resetting and going invulnerable, its the most annoying thing ever
I like that 10% dmg to foes who are burning for my torch build, but that’s about it
Why does everyone think they are so entitled? The game has been out for 6 months, its still a baby! Give them some time. No mmo in history is perfect when it releases. I understand your frustrations, but be patient.
No matter how you look at it. No one should be doing over 17 k dmg that fast. We all know how fast that goes down
Wow didn’t have arenas 6 months into the game. We have to give this game time. Once everything balances out you at least have skill based pvp. I agree with you though, cosmetic rewards sound nice.
Doac didn’t have full loot but the adrenaline was there. I won’t speak too much of doac because I didn’t play it forever, but uo and shadowbane I did. I think if the new generation of gamers had a chance to play games like that they would fall in love with the best reward possible for killing another player…THEIR items.
Would it be too much to ask to have wvwvw traits separated from pve? I like to be more support in wvwvw and dps in pve. Any thoughts?

That’s because pvp in mmo’s died with games like ultima online, shadowbane, and daoc. Pvp is not just about battlegrounds and controlled battles, its about risking everything you have and fighting for your life. Killing another player and taking everything on their corpse! That is real pvp and all the gamers who are around my age (30) know exactly what I’m talking about. If your first mmo was wow, then you will never know.
I agree it needs to be changed because the mechanics are dumb, but the dmg it does is pretty bad. They won’t kill you with it.
I agree with xom, dueling isn’t just to show off your kitten. It makes people better pvpers, by fighting other professions in a controlled environment that you can test abilities against the ones you are struggling with.
As long as there is an option to block all duels, it shouldn’t bother those who are opposed to it.

I honestly don’t care about the dmg I adapted to a more toughness heavy build. What I don’t like is the endless stealth kittenome people do. I fought a thief just now who came in and out of stealth hitting me and this other guy once and vanishing again. Not sure if the rendering issue effects spvp as well, but it was annoying. He didn’t kill us or anything, but pretty much forced us to remain at the capture point. I know how thieves work I have a high level thief, but that was annoying.
Anyways, it could be the rendering thing, but it sure didn’t look like there were 3 seconds between.
I just don’t get it. Server side fix to stealth is all that needs fixing. No one ever complained about stealth in any other game and that was perma stealth.

Let’s just remove the thief! Seriously, everyday there’s a new post about a different ability that needs to be nerfed. The only one that needed a nerf was HS. Learn to counter it with condition removal and the thief wasted all that spamming and is out of initiative.
Guys, stop entertaining this. You and your friends are idiots for being so close. Do you stand in AE too? Stay mobile, its one of the easiest abilities to prevent.
You can only have two active trades, but can max all of them. So if you are asking which ones to get first…it really doesn’t matter.
I am still learning other professions’ abilities, but I’m almost certain that I have been stomped by most of them with similar abilities. For example, a warrior stunned me and used an ability that took me from full to 0 in one move. If you tone one down, they all need some attention.
