Got HoT about a week ago.
Few days ago i realised I am short about 6 points towards maxing my tyria masteries
My options?
- Grind tripple ascended armor
- Grind useless & ugly collections (ambrite or luminescent)
- Dive in various locations in tyria (seriously anet? this? a kittening mastery point??)
- Kill the SW legendary bosses (Rng based boss spawn chance)
- Complete my remaining season 2 story’s wich are locked for me and require a 100g or 800 gem investment (Shame on you for not including this within HoT, seriously)
- buy all cultural armor (another 200+ gold investment)
- Triple trouble (Most likely the easiest of them all since this is still organised frequently)
Seriously??? You only need another 6 points and you still have a heap of easy ones.
The diving doesn’t take long and triple trouble is an easy four points (spread out over a few completions).
SW bosses, yeah that took a while, but I made a heap of gold and unlocked one of the best looking heavy armour skins whilst doing it.
Living world takes time, but at least you know you’re progressing towards a mastery point and it’s not one based on luck. Also it does suck that it requires an additional purchase.
I agree with the sentiment of the thread. Locking mastery points away behind ludicrous time and or gold sinks is quite frustrating.
You seem to have it pretty easy, though. Sounds like you’ve gotten most, if not all, of the Fractal mastery points. That’s where I’m lacking, I now need to grind fractals (something I never bothered with prior HoT) to make up some mastery points.
Can someone help me out, here, cause I’m definitely missing something.
I’m certainly not an advocate of how the mastery system was implemented, there’s a lot about it which I don’t like.
However, every time I see one of these threads, the OP is complaining about jumping puzzles being a gate for mastery points.
As far as I can tell, there’s only one jumping puzzle which rewards a mastery point, and it’s not a very difficult one.
Where are these other jumping puzzles which reward mastery points??
My ping seems to be back to normal. Was 350-400 with frequent spikes into the thousands, for several days.
Noticed my glider deploy was MUCH smoother tonight. Checked ping and I’m between 210 and 250. Much better, hope I haven’t spoken too soon though.
Still not fixed…
Surely a bug like this should be top priority.
I’m playing from Australia and my ping has jumped 100ms+. Usually it’s around 250, the past week or so it’s been over 350.
This is making it especially hard to do anything with gliders which requires quick timing.
And now I’m getting about 2.8K???
Well I was… As soon as people joined my party, I started getting less XP (1.5k).
Was it un-nerfed? I’m doing spiders, right now, getting 5K XP per spider.
This thread was made 25 days ago and more have been made since. I still haven’t seen ANet acknowledge this.
Are you using 64bit client?
I ran into this exact issue, last night. Thankfully, the quest can be completed without the arrow cart.
Are you using the 64bit client?
Many people have reported this and I haven’t seen ANet even acknowledge it.
I’m short about 14 Mastery Points.
Latest patch has not fixed this. Disappointing…
I expect the planet will keep turning either way.
Not if I don’t get my missing Central Tyria Mastery Points!
i think theres a couple character model settings you can turn down a notch to help, one to do with quality and one to do with amount shown on screen, ive been using the normal client and just set those down to medium and havent had a crash since
This is a different issue. I’m using the 64bit client, which has fixed the OoM errors.
The client isn’t crashing, I’m just getting sent to character select. When this happens, other people in map chat say the same has happened to them.
One of the areas under Tarir, in Auric Basin, requires the completion of a quest.
We had a similar situation, at launch (of the base game), where there was a POI (in Straits of Devastation) only accessible during the final story mission.
An was instance created, so anyone could access this POI at any time.
Why has the same not been done for the area under Tarir? I have a character for each class, I don’t fancy doing the same quests on them all so I can get a POI and Vista.

I especially like when I get booted to character select and lose all my participation percentage…
Stuff legendaries, would rather the bugs were fixed first.
32 bit or 64 bit client? It might be that you’re running into the ‘out of memory’ error (if using the 32 bit client).
64 bit client is crashing when I try to enter the instance for “A Vision of Darkness” (Level 20 Sylvari personal story).
Loads fine on 32 bit client.
I just completed “Waking form the Nightmare”. Prior to completing this quest, it did not have a Mastery Point associated with it (along with the other racial quest achievements I have not yet completed).
I did not get a Mastery point for this achievement, however, after completing the quest, the Hero panel says I should have. I’m assuming the issue is with these achievements.
Apparently my images are not going to embed. Links will do…
I took screenshots of my achievements, including the ones which are supposed to give a Central Tyria Master Point.

Currently I have 21 Tyria Mastery Points (all used).
(edited by Clem.2963)
What gives Tyria mastery points, outside of achievements? Do you get a point for completion of the main story (after killing Zhaitan) and also for 100% map completion?
I would advice you to be careful with thread bumps, too much bumps isn’t allowed. Also, it’s not reasonable to expect for a reply within a few hours, there have been issues that took days until someone replied. Give it some time until someone with the same issue show up.
I get that, but it’s a bit frustrating not being able to utilise the new masteries because I didn’t get the correct allocation of points (at launch).
There others with the same issue. It’d just be good to know what Anet are doing about it and when we can expect a fix.
On top of this, now I’m not getting map completion (for new maps) rewards, on one of my toons, because I have 100% world (or rather, did).

15char…
Nothing? :/

Great Scott!!! I thought it was 2015 and everyone was over gimmicky 3D gaming/movies.
Guess I must have been sent back in time on the 21st of October 2015.
I hope there’s a DeLorean on craigslist….
We are looking at adding a way for players to earn Quickloot in WvW as well. We wanted to keep PvE progression (Masteries) separate from WvW progression (Ability Lines). However this means when a new Mastery ability is created, that might also be useful in another gamemode, it doesn’t automatically crossover.
Can we not just go with the common sense approach and make that one mastery active in WvW?
WvW is where this function makes the most sense, yet, it’s not available.
Having auto loot is going to remove the distraction of running around finding loot bags, when you should be paying attention to the objective.
I realise I’m not the only one with this issue, but I haven’t really been keeping an eye on the subject.
Has Anet said anything regarding the bug with Central Tyria mastery points allocated at launch?
Be good to know when a fix is likely. I should have started with around 30 but only started with 16.
Most of the Tyria masteries I have left require a stupid amount of time or gold to obtain, so it’d be great if I could have all the ones I should have gotten.
I just want to say one thing…
THANK YOU!
Thanks guys. Thought it might have something to do with one of my traits. Can’t still use Red Moa for 100% Fury uptime, just have to remember to use it more often. 22.5 seconds Fury with 20 seconds cooldown.
I use Red Moa on my ranger to assist with 100% uptime of Fury.
It used to behave a bit weirdly, I’ll try to explain below.
If I swapped to my Red Moa (after logging in or using a waypoint), ‘Furious Screech’ would give 30 seconds of Fury. However, if I hadn’t swapped to my Moa (since log in or waypoint), I would only get 22.5 seconds Fury.
So this meant, if I logged in and Red Moa was already out, activating Furious Screech would only give the 22.5 seconds of Fury. I would not get the 30 seconds of fury until I swapped to my other pet and then back to my Red Moa.
If my other pet was already out, I would have to swap to Red Moa, anyway, so I would get the 30 seconds after doing this.
Now, after the most recent patch (29/9), I only ever get 22.5 seconds Fury from Furious Screech.
I don’t know if other boon-giving pets have similar behaviour, I’ve really only ever used Red Moa (I have my Ranger built for 100% critical chance).
I couldn’t find anything about this in the patch notes. Does anyone know more about this?
Thanks.
There’s nothing wrong with my system, thank you.
The game reaches 3.5GB RAM usage (highest settings, 2560×1440), during large zergs, and the game crashes. That’s an issue with the game, not my PC.
Except that it clearly doesn’t happen for everyone else. If it was indeed an issue with the game, it would happen to everyone. I for one have never crashed during any world boss fight.
Post a screenshot of your settings and memory usage of the Gw2.exe process, during a large world boss zerg? Particularly Karka Queen or Jormag, those two seem to trigger it the most.
I imagine this is an issue with your system. I play with everything maxed at world bosses and I never have out of memory errors. GW2 rarely even reaches 3 GB RAM usage of the 16 I can utilise

I shouldn’t have to lower my settings to prevent OOM errors, when my PC has more than enough memory.
Happens every other time I’m at a world boss.
well technically, as long as someone in the party has completed story mode, you can do it.
Ooh, I didn’t know this.

Yeah, I understand the point about running out of people to help with story mode. It’s just annoying not being able to run another one of your characters through a dungeon without doing the boring story mode again.
So, is there any sort of legitimate reason as to why it’s like this?
They’re different characters, with different life stories, so what would be the “legitimate reason” to make the feats of one influence the story of the other?
That reasoning is made redundant by the fact that you can go and replay the story mode as much as you want.
If people cared about the story, there would be nothing stopping them from going and playing the story mode again.
Title says it all, really. I went to do a dungeon with my Guardian, which I have completed on my Warrior, but was both annoyed and surprised to find out I needed to do the story mode again.
Having to do story mode is painful enough without having to do it on each of our characters.
So, is there any sort of legitimate reason as to why it’s like this?
and my IRL mate said I’d been hacked..
Though I’m grateful for the long list of fixes to all the professions, Battle presence was unfortunately not included in the list and is still broken…
Full exotics *3.

Unidentified dyes 7.5 silver and Abyss is over 9 gold.
Why would you want fingerprints all over your monitor? :\
Abyss wasn’t 8g before the drop bug. :\
the y accidentally somehow idk how or why they were fidllign with it to begin with, made dye drops super common for a few days.
then they “fixed” it.
and now as of last night unidentified dyes are up to 4s50c
I don’t know what is this fix but the way dye dropped before that bug was quite fine. Now i haven’t got one single dye since they fixed the drops.
Yeah, I’m certain they’ve broken it again.
Haha, is this where an Ori node currently is? It’s a hell of a gauntlet up there.
I manage to get through there with my glass cannon Ele, though, so I don’t see it as too much of an issue.
