Gotta love people’s reading comprehension…
OP is saying that, IN ADDITION to the armor PIECES, you should ALSO, as in, PLUS, get an outfit of the set you made. So you get your armor PIECES but can ALSO wear your LEGENDARY armor that you have CRAFTED as an OUTFIT if you want. That is what he is suggesting.

It is not a bad suggestion.

All chars are made the same RELATIVE size. Charrs are still huge, and due to their posture and movement animations (loping on all fours) it is actually harder to do any JP on a Charr.

JPs being harder on Charr is true for normal JPs, but in SAB every char gets downscaled to asura size.

Which changes nothing about their standing and moving animations. But you’re too stuck on your idea that it’s “not harder because the sizes are the same” to care, aren’t you?

Also here’s a fun fact for you: The model size is the only thing that changes in SAB. Outside of SAB, all races and genders have the same exact hitbox size, for balance reasons. This includes collision with things like platforms and roofs, which is why sometimes Charr and Norn heads go through ceilings, and sometimes Asura can’t fit through holes they’re smaller than. Charr do not have it harder due to mechanics, it’s all the ability to see accurately where your character is going to land, which Charr ANIMATIONS make harder IN ADDITION to their size.

So? All chars have the same size in SAB. Being a charr or a norn doesnt make it harder.

If you’re so bad at SAB you could have just bought the infusion. Tons of ppl are selling tribulation runs on LFG.

All chars are made the same RELATIVE size. Charrs are still huge, and due to their posture and movement animations (loping on all fours) it is actually harder to do any JP on a Charr. It is not so hard as to be significantly more difficult, but it is worth noting. His point was that even though he had something of a disadvantage, he didn’t “just buy it”, as you suggest.

Personally, I agree with the OP’s point; I worked hard for these, not working hard for these is a BUG that they are going to FIX, and I think it should be a little more noticeable. Even on not-Charr, half the time the particles barely show up past the character model. More+bigger particles.

Following today’s update, I appear not to be receiving the speed boost from Leader of the Pact III (Advanced Logistics mastery). The effect’s icon still appears with my other active effects, and I still loot enemies without needing to press F. Moreover, the visual swiftness effect is still applied, but I move only at the base movement speed. After applying swiftness or placing a movement speed signet on my skill bar, I move discernibly faster, which should not be the case were Leader of the Pact III giving its 33% movement speed increase. This problem impacts all of my characters and persists in all major cities.

Can confirm I’m also getting this bug as of 12/15.

On top of all the other problems with the expansion, I think one thing people seem to miss or forget is that it does not, by default, include a character slot for your Revenant character.

By default, Guild Wars 2 comes with FIVE character slots. This is already an inadequate number, forcing you to pay 30 dollars extra if you want to play all of the base classes. This means that you are already hard-up for character slots from the get-go. HEART OF THORNS, meanwhile, introduces exactly one class, the Revenant, and this one class is marketed as a feature of the expansion.

In order to use this class (expansion feature), you must pay a minimum of 10 extra dollars. This is not taking into account the people who have enough character slots already, as, guess what, they already spent the 10 dollars. Alternatively, if you want your PURCHASE to include a character slot, you can pay TWENTY-FIVE extra dollars for Heart of Thorns instead, getting what should’ve been in the base price along with a bunch of useless extras.

This is unacceptable when every single class-adding addon since the franchise’s inception has AT LEAST had the decency to throw in a slot for the new class(es) available.

I propose that Arenanet should at the very least give a character slot to every veteran who buys heart of thorns, though I think it would be fair to give a slot to every account that has it, new or old. If you’re going to sell us a class as a feature of an expansion that we pay for, ensure that we can at least ROLL ONE.

Do you really give a rats butt what the name is?

After they showed us a teaser image prominently featuring Paragon-styled wings, and most people spent the last three days excited for Paragon, yes. There’s also a great many people who played Paragon in GW1 that now play Guardian in GW2. Adding to this, Guardian already has a great many elements of Paragon stuff in them (One of their PVP titles is even ‘Champion Paragon’), so when you show off the paragon wings in your teaser image, what are most people going to be looking forward to?

I’m at least willing to give the class a try, but EVERY player hunts the dragons, the pact hunts the dragons, the biconics hunt the dragons. Paragon is at least a unique name, Dragonhunter is hopelessly generic in this setting.

SPEAR of Justice
WINGS of Resolve
SHIELD of Courage

I mean, if you’re going to slap us in the face with the worst-sounding new skills for Guardian (Traps? Seriously?), at least give Guardians the name most of us were hoping for. You were clearly teasing it by showing us THE WINGS before anything else.

I did, but the fact remains is that Anet needs to think about this kind of thing before putting it into the game. A simple question of – “Can this be used by immature players to annoy the ever living kitten out of everyone around them until they’re banned?” And if the is yes, then don’t put it in the game.

An invention or feature should not be blamed for its’ potential for misuse. Car crashes are one of, if not THE leading cause of death, especially when you combine them with alcohol. Should we get rid of all cars and/or all alcohol then?

There will always be players who like to troll. Always. Removing an item that has provided a source of fun for a significant chunk of people is not the way to deal with it, removing or educating the trolling player is.

I do think they could handle something like this better; a rightclick option to “Mute [Player]’s instruments” would work wonders in situations like this, as players could make a personal decision to mute someone. But knee-jerking and making the item people have paid gems (and potentially real money) for worse is a bad idea, and the thought of removing it entirely is much worse.

or for a more MMOish example, Warframe. Warframe is really cool because you never really feel like you’ve reached the endgame.

As a player who has all the prime frames: I disagree with this part of your post. You will feel like you have reached the top for a looooong time, it is just that you never reach the end of the grind where you have/have leveled everything.

That said, I agree with the rest of your post, but I think it is telling that it took Arenanet an entire year to figure out that people don’t like temporary content, and in the span of TWO YEARS they have not added a single dungeon (fractals don’t count as a dungeon) or other piece of permanent, repeatable content besides world bosses and fractals. And even then they mostly codified world bosses, the only real ‘additions’ were Tequatl (just a change to an existing boss) and Triple Trouble.

I swear they would have such a better rate of retention if they made adding a dungeon every other month a goal.

like.. seriously? It’s ridiculous. why would they put that there?

Because it’s steampunk (seriously team, what is it suddenly 2006 again?). The whole idea is you take something vaguely Victorian in design and glue a kittenload of gears and cogs on it. They don’t need to be functional or practical, they just need to be there.

One side of the tassel does not draw.

This makes the very impressive cloth tassel invisible 50% of the time, as one side of the cloth does not actually render. So when you’re running left, it looks perfect— and when you’re running right, you can’t see it at all. Please fix this! I love my Jade Avenger.

Tell me what you expected in GW1

Did you not play GW1?

The only monetization in that game was storage space and cosmetics, and I’m not talking weapon or armor skins, I’m talking full-on costumes like the Mad King outfit, the stuff that is ‘town clothes’ now. Whenever they had an event, if it had new skins, guess what? All of those weapons or armors were EARNED in-game. You never had to buy them off of the cash shop (Re: Braham and Rox’s weapon skins), nor did you ever have to “earn” them through a bullkitten RNG.

A good example of this would be the Candy Cane Weapons: The shards would randomly drop in the world (kind of like the Dragon Coffers do for this event), but rather than say, a 0.05% chance of getting the weapon you wanted, you just had to collect 9-12 shards and turn them in at the vendor of your choice. It was simple, it was effective, and everyone liked it.

Compare to now, where you are forced to endure two RNGs (One for the boxes to drop, one for the ticket in the box) if you don’t want to fork over cash for the boxes, and even if you do, you’re still faced with a far from guaranteed chance of getting a weapon skin.

All the players want is the ability to EARN the skins, rather than having to endure this RNG bullskritt. There are people who have opened 7000 Dragon Coffers— that’s over 175 gold if they were bought on the TP, mind— and still not received a single weapon ticket. There are also players who have opened 45 and received three tickets.

If you still think the way things are now is better, you need to take off your blinders.

I have modest stores of most common materials, but no rares. My main (A L80 guardian) has a set of magic-find gear, and a set that is not.

With this preamble laid out on the table, I would like to know: What are some ways I could make a sizable chunk of money? The most I have ever had on me at once is about 16g. Never more. I am not a lazy jerk that’s asking for a get-rich-quick scheme. I’m wondering, besides flipping the trading post, what a player with a lot of free time like myself could do to make money.

I’m not a fresh 80, mind; I know the usual ideas like ‘gather everything’ and ‘sell/salvage everything’. I’ve just sort of hit rock bottom, and I’d like some advice as to what I can do to make sure I don’t end up here again, as well as crawl my way out.
