I know the old process was talk to the Black Lion Weapon Master to get the dialogue to get it changed.
But now… there is no such dialogue, so how does one change their soulbound stuff to account bound?
Been very difficult to get a more recent answer to this.
Finally figured it out after 25 attempts… still a rubbish system to be honest.
This is now getting so annoying, I have changed my password so many times now, that after a hiatus from the game coming back is a nightmare as you can’t fricking remember what you set the password for the last time.
Then you sit there like a fool trying multiple combinations of what you think it was, only to get wrong wrong wrong constantly.
I understand you want to protect the accounts, because you screwed up on launch by allowing people to gain access to accounts easily (through no fault of the end-user I may add), but kitten sometimes it is just too much. Allow us to re use passwords, it would be easier for us to have 3 password rotations that we can use every now and again and change whenever.
Rather than trying to remember 5+ different passwords you have used and no longer use.
Thank god for cookies, cause I can’t log into GW1 or GW2 without knowing what my password is right now.

Was the payment rejected by paypal because they couldn’t get funds in time from your bank account?
If you bought online then you should have an email, unless she deleted it after use?
Someone can’t remove your transactions, if it was paid for and accepted then it’s a valid successful purchase and will be recorded. So your bank or if you paid via paypal will have those records.
Check your wife’s emails and spam folder incase it was lost in there, you should find it quick since you know the date and approximate time you bought it for her.

My problem is a bit more complex, but in waiting for it to be resolved I asked for my GW1 and GW2 accounts to be linked, and they couldn’t even get that simple thing right.
So very disappointing.

Report the account so the account is banned and the hacker can’t get on (it will be reinstated later). But why is your friend’s ticket dated the 12th if he was hacked 1 week ago?
A list of your hardware would probably be better to see if you can run the game well, best to start with medium settings then one by one change some until you notice the lag appearing then you know what is the cause.

Thanks again for getting some help the last time, unfortunately I seem to have been pushed to the side again and this is a matter of legal action to be taken if we do not come to agreement (myself and Arenanet) but nobody has answered myself in the last 2 days or even looked at the extra information I provided.
I do not appreciate having to have waited this long only to be not dealt with when they finally speak to me again. Its very unprofessional.

You would be surprised how easy it is to get your hands on a keylogger or an infector that infects .exe files. Even the source code.

I’m not sure you know what he heck your talking about. 2 AVs does not give anyone a back door lol. At most it causes file locking and could cause a harddrive to fail. Back doors are authored code the create and expose a security vulnerability for an attacker to gain control over a device. Google it before you post like your an expert.
Your example of a backdoor is one example, backdoors are not one type of security risk, they can be any risk that has opened a port to allow data packets to and from the machine, or start an exploit through a running service by amending it via ring 0 from an initial file that has got past defences.
With 2 AV’s running (which I may add even if it did work flawlessly would never give 100% protection) if they start to scan a file, then one AV is blocked by the other thinking the service is blocking their scan on purpose and it goes back and forth to the point where the file in question now is disregarded.
Yes it is reported MSSE and Avast can work in tandem, but that has never been proven 100% to be accurate, it is Avast trying to get you to use their software in the hopes of buying it later on.
So in essence you may have a security risk doing so, it may not be the real problem for you but its a potential problem you should fix up. I only run MSSE and I rarely get infected if at all, only once from the last 5 months+ due to an IE9 exploit.

- I had and do have Avast! and Microsoft Security Essentials running on my PC and always scan daily. I even ran a boot-time scan and had no infections.
Never have 2 Anti-Virus programs running at same time, that is asking for trouble, especially when they fight over trying to scan a file to the point it gets passed any attempt to block it.
Same goes for Anti-Malware programs also, just have one installed.
Online games and gaming networks are popular targets for hackers, so it’s important to follow good security practices.
Shame about the company you work for handing hackers access to saved credit card info including the 3 digit code so they can buy away and put people in the poor house.

I’m sorry for the issues that you’re experienced, and we will do that for you. Please go ahead and continue your conversation with Support and they will make that refund happen, if that is your desire.
I would like this to be top priority now as I am no way willing to wait a day or two per reply.
I feel ArenaNet’s last response was a chance to try and throw me to the side without a refund, I have replied in the reason why ArenaNet has to pay but again as said I am not waiting a day or two for a reply.

I think most of the +magic food is desert food so far, with that nomberry cake being the highest with 40%. But even a simple Strawberries and biscuits gives +10% which is kinda nice early on.

After the fiasco of what is happening to people losing real money by illegally storing the 3 digit security codes of credit cards, I am not happy to have my information on your servers/network.
The whole launch in my honest opinion has been a disaster, in all types of fronts, people understand MMOs will have some problems in the beginning but Anet takes that to a whole new level. And you are planning an expansion soon to include 2 new classes and a new race, perhaps get everyone working on that to stop and do some in house cleaning up and help people, would be the best idea right now.
Lets hope xvalkyrie you didn’t save your credit card info.

Initially I had problems logging into my GW1 account, because in the past I already had another set of GW1 titles including expansion which was given away to a friend with a very sick nephew, as a cheer him up thing. So re-bought all 3 campaigns and GWEN just end of last year.
But I forgot that I had been forced to use a @ncsoft account for them, and I tried to login with my previous account name, put in the correct password and then wouldn’t work on the character name… so asked for a character name, gave relevant information and cd-keys etc, to be told a character name, which didn’t work.
Then I had to find out myself because the support was slow that it was my @ncsoft account instead, which took a bit of finding out as there was two of those also, but eventually got the right one and managed to get the password set.
So then I find out of course my GW2 account is not linked to my GW1 titles, so had to find out why there. Then I find out that I was supposed to have been asked about what account to use for linking, never happened it automatically used the old account name that I used for my GW2 account and associated itself with that.
So my old account which is probably not played now cause the kid passed away, but he did have a younger brother so perhaps he is playing it (but it should be a different username/email as I did change it for them), is now linked to my GW2 account.
Was not getting an answer so thought because of them giving my character name that it may have been flagged as fixed or concluded, so started a 2nd ticket referencing to the first as I had left it open for days, up to the 5th of September.
So since 29th August that is the problems I have had, and now with the recent Credit Card saving of information and the illegal way you hold the 3 digit security code, hacked accounts with CC data saved have been getting ripped off, and people who use debit cards are in a bigger problematic area as there is no potential limit to what can be spent on them.
So I have now no trust in your company and am demanding a refund of all titles on my account, except the one given away of course and the GW1 titles on my newer account has been asked to be refunded at current prices even though they were bought end of last year.
Failing this will resort me to seeking legal action against Arenanet and NCsoft for violating my consumer rights, and I will be seeking the cost of the software and other punitive costs. Which your company has until Tuesday at around 1pm BST to fix or I will start the process as this is near the end of my 14 days of purchase for GW2.
I am also recording all correspondence to be used if court action is necessary, as well as all corresponding reference material from the forum.
Saying overclocking to new people is a bad thing, because most will not read up about it and dive head in, and do something silly like try to double the CPU clock from 3ghz to 6ghz and wonder why the CPU melted even with water cooling :P
Yeah, in the termination it must have been something really bad for them to check logs and go….. ok terminated. Like a bad racial slur or something, not saying you did or not, just giving a reason on why I think they did what they did.

Threads like this should not exist, I know Anet have put people into this thread, but for people who have issues that have not been dealt with for a long time, seeing a thread like this full of happy people is counter productive, it will just infuriate people more to the point they will want refunds. Just sayin’ Anet.
I have not had any CC details kept or anything, but have seen it happen.
Now the thing is, if they are unwilling to do anything to combat the fact people are losing real money, then I am not feeling safe having my information on their servers if they treat people like that, and I think many other people like myself who have other issues with the game even miniscule problems will feel like they don’t want to deal with anything with Anet anymore.
So hence they get angry, that the problems that are easily fixed in 2 minutes are being ignored for banning issues and karma exploit issues, that is just bad, there was 3000-5000 bannings vs probably higher with other issues like cd-key problems, log in problems, linking problems etc so it does seem like people are being pushed to the side instead of being dealt with. So yeah they are entitled to come on here and vent.
Jezath you have to realise people are not happy to have their credit card details saved with no option to remove them, especially with all the hacked accounts and people losing actual money because of it.
And tie in the fact that Anet is not doing anything about it and letting it continue, means people will distrust Anet in the long run, they know that if a hacker does get into an account with credit card details saved, they won’t be held responsible in their eyes. They will blame it on the user for not making a secure enough account in terms of a password which is rubbish. And the credit card company is the one who will end up paying for a refund.
It is a disgusting practice, they are illegally holding the 3 digit security codes of cards, and they are not dealing with it appropriately which shows they are more interested in themselves than the safety of players.
So yeah people are entitled to get a refund for that alone, among other reasons.
It doesn’t require the CVV/CVC code if you enter a monthly or subscription payment plan as that is done on the first payment and is setup to be accepted per month.
On the Black Lion Trading system it isn’t set for systematic purchasing in the same time frame and can be done at any time, thusly it should ask for the CVV/CVC each time, but they have illegally stored that info which is now causing all the problems of people getting money taking out of their accounts/card balances (some cards are not CC but debit cards which is worse as their is no limit per say except for the amount in their bank accounts).
I think what gailegray meant about how the CCV was used, was the initial transaction in that they can not see it. Not that they are storing it.
Doesn’t matter if he could see it or not, the fact is if someone gains access to the account illegally they can use the hidden details to purchase diamonds to sell back on the market for in game gold which is then syphoned off to good knows elsewhere to be sold for money.

I don’t think the guy was looking for a solution in a public thread, more like an acknowledgement of something getting done about it.
It has happened, someone lost £200 from their credit card. And Anet isn’t responding to the thread because they don’t want people to see it.
They are not responding to the thread because its a my mate thread, as his “mate” he has no right to discuss anything to do with another persons data, and as it is a “claim” of fraud" there may be a criminal investigation.
Also under section 75 of the consumer credit act being that the purchase is over £100 he was covered immediately for the loss.
As for removal of private data the company has 28 days to respond to any request to remove data which comes under Act 1 of the Uk data protection act, similar schemes are run by most Eu countries or US companies that have signed up for safe harbor scheme. Also they may be regulations/ best practices relating to holding data by organizations such as PCI Security Standards Council and the EPC in the EU.However fully agree with everyone here if they have indeed been bypassing even the most basic of security for the processing of payments although it may not be illegal, but in this day and age considering the line of work they are in that is stupid beyond belief. They should shut the system down until their payment gateway has rectified this.

But yeah 3 digit CVV/CVC codes are not allowed to be stored, and monthly payments via CCs doesn’t use these 3 digit codes per month as that has been agreed initially with the first payment.
Either way its still disgusting, the guy who lost £200 may have hit his limit… or maybe caused him to go slightly over it, which means monthly charges for doing so, which means more money to be paid until the guy can do something about it.
Why won’t they even mention why or at least give a reason why you cannot remove your credit card information.

The purchase sites are extremely secure. And from what I recall, on our end the CC number is encrypted and not retained in it’s visible state. So if you can see it, I believe that we cannot see it, it just looks like **** to us.
Will get you more information if this remains a concern, but I really feel you’re ok.
What Anet is doing storing that info with no way for the user to remove the details is illegal. It has, as said already, caused people who stored their info and had their accounts hacked fraudulent actions taken against their credit cards. Someone lost £200!!! Thats $320 USD because of Anet storing the 3 digit CVV/CVC code which is also illegal to do.
I have requested that I get a refund on everything I have on my account (old GW titles are requested at todays prices the cheapest I could find) as your system is unsafe and Anet is not bothered with the way it illegally holds information, thusly I am not happy with my information being stored on Anet servers.
That is before the storm comes and Anet is fined massively for illegally holding information they should not have (cvv/cvc and start and expiration dates) and also not allowing people to manually remove it quickly. IT IS DISGUSTING.
IMHO Anet will be lucky to make it christmas.
