We’ve been kittening about OP builds since before most of you got good at this game.

Alright ladies and gentleman I’m back and looking for a team.

Ignore the classes below, as long as it isnt mesmer or engineer I can PROBABLY play it by now (if u need either of these 2, i can try to pick it up but your better off not wasting your time)

I have experience on competitive teams in the past, you can ask most people in the “top” ranking teams atm (I say most to sound better, probably only 30% of them if im gonna be honest) that I am vocal, able to follow calls and help make them, and barring some rustiness due to not playing this game as much as I used to, I’m ready to go.

Message me on here or leave me a mail message in game, I"ll start playing more often so I can be on for those messages or direct messages for instantaneous tryouts, if needed.

Guardian is the one thing since day one that has been balanced. Phanta is right, literally the only balance policy that should be happening at ANet is “how do we make all classes like guardian, because they are, and always have been, in a very good spot”

Lets have the old-school paids back. for one day.

I think it’s stupid how you allow cheese passive random rez spirit ranger on every team but you ban prismatic understanding Mesmer….the only reason people think prismatic understanding op is cause of random qq from people getting owned when they solo roam in wvw. Ridiculous how only certain types of cheese allowed and not others…prismatic understanding Mesmer takes more skill than cheesy spirit ranger any day…you can literally go down the line of your abilities on spirit ranger 1-5 switch 1-5 again and spam spirits and you will own people.

No skill needed, and don’t even get me started on that kitten elite…0 respect for all spirit rangers

Spirit ranger is easy to pick up, but there’s a fine line between a good one and a bad one.

A bad spirit ranger = good in PvP because it’s not too difficult
A good spirit ranger = incredibly good in PvP because they’ve played it a lot and spent a lot of time learning pet control, not to spam your spirits and use them wisely, etc.

When I fight spirit rangers I can typically immediately tell a ‘good’ one from a ‘bad’ one.

Pretty much this.

The key to becoming a GOOD spirit ranger is a multitude of things:

1) Using the Blind of sun spirit for specific situations, such as anticipating a burst, getting a stomp or to survive just a bit longer until your heal

2) Using storm spirit in conjunction with a burst pet to maximize the damage and get them on the back foot

3) Using shortbow for pressure and knowing when to switch to sword to have all cooldowns ready and evades ready

4) Knowing when to have River Drake/Wolf out (for most rangers this is what we use anyway)

5) Using your pets in downstate properly

6) Timing CC, having healing spring up when in sword to get more heals…

List goes on…

there’s another one in the back you can get to with a Warrior hammer.

We used to kitten around and do races on this map. its fun learning jumping tricks

Like by the Mine base, you can actually get to the point faster if u climb over the rock (not as “OMG THIS EXISTS?!”) but still kinda cool

Right now Healing signet is more powerful (twice as much in fact) than Ele Signet. And Ele’s DO NOT have twice as much EHP (Effective HP) to warrant this…

Either nerf it or revert Ele’s Signet Heal Nerf…preferabbly the former

What does it need?

a) Mist form lets you heal, or doesnt interupt channels. That way, in a bind, u can Ether Renewal then mist form and it wont interupt your heal (unless this already happens in which case ignore me, but i dont think so)

b) I REALLY like the idea of the Conjure Weapons creating “Auras” similar to banners, but I worry that ANET feels like they would be TOO similar to Banners. However this could be extremely helpful if the aura is strong enough

c) The cantrips need to be rebuffed. Cleansing Fire needs to clear all condi’s and reduce the burn. Ele’s are too susceptible to condi’s

d) Increase our base health. Right now we are as low as a thief, however Thieves have the benefit of getting in and out of fights. Make us more on par with rangers, imo. They have as much healing as we do almost with healing spring…

e) GIVE US BETTER ULTIMATES. SERIOUSLY. Fiery Greatsword…meh. Tornado…good, but situational (and if u get confusion on you ur kittened) Elemental…is FINE but needs to be changed or…something…

f) Balance our skills. Updraft having a shorter cooldown, an evade AND knockbacks multiple people vs. a single target, no evade knockback on a longer cooldown on the focus….wtf ANet?

g) Give us more traits to access. Right now its almost impossible for Ele’s to be in any other traitline than Arcana based on what it does for our stance dancing. Either make it so we WANT to stay in Elements longer as a secondary play style, or Remove Attunement cooldown from arcana and have it as a passive trait or..something. But it cant be there. You put the 2 things almost all Ele’s need on the same traitline…I realise the bottom tree is always associated with profession skills but this is the biggest thing hindering Ele’s (and while your at it, fix fire. Please.)

Not all this at once, obviously, but just some ideas.

Or, revert all nerfs and see where they end up, and re-nerf accordingly :p

^Berserker Stance plus the Rangers lack of stun breaks means that warrior will screw you UP

ANet has stated they do not want to touch balance until after PAX. We know that this means Spirit Rangers will remain on top and Necros, Engineers will also be strong for another 2-3 weeks. IMO this is killing the playability of the game.

I am requesting a response to see if you guys agree with this or if we can tell ANet to implement these changes early for the sake of our sanity’s.

To make sure this isn’t just a QQ thread with no reasoning behind it, let me explain my reasoning.

At the moment, teams have tried to combat the meta. And although some teams are proving to be relatively successful, it doesn’t change the fact right now that Ranger and Necro are stupid strong right now, pigeon holing teams into compositions that can beat these 2 classes.

This is restricting the variance within a teams ability to choose compositions, which is hindering the competitive aspect of the game.

If we take a look at Kavia’s thread, we can see that at the moment, REALISTICALLY Elementalists cannot beat any class 1v1. Although I don’t agree fully, keep in mind this is in a completely even fight with both classes approaching a point at full health, full cooldowns, etc etc. we also see that mesmers are not having a fun time either.

Why is this important? Well right now a teams strength is in the fact that the classes played right now are good in team fight settings AND can hold their own in 1v1’s and Skirmishes. If these 2 classes cannot beat any classes 1v1 realistically, unless they provide out of this world team support they won’t be brought on.

On top of this, although a minor reason, Ranger Res and passive condi effects are not fun to watch, and it’s not new player friendly. “Oh hey look one of their players is down! Wait how did he get up?” This WILL happen at PAX if the Res Spirit isn’t fixed to be interrupted and if there is no animation for when the res actually happens. Spectators aren’t going to see when that little thing raises its paw and slams it. The players might. The other important thing or pax is portal. Why? Because IMO portal is the best mechanic in the game for comebacks and strong team play. Watching SupCuties portal plays is a lot more fun than seeing Folly spam 1 and res people (just an example guys don’t kill me).

So I end this off with a question. SYNC and CC, ANet has stated they will do no balance until after PAX in fairness to you. Do you agree with this?

This is not a “fix this this this and this anet” thread. This is a plea that, if the top teams agree, the balance planned for after pax be planned for before.

Also kavia pretty sure I agree with blinx in that spirit ranger crushes Ele. Nikkle has yet to beat me, same with Aiden

Having condi pressure to make you use cooldowns then spike your face is too much for ele’s, and part of the reason i switched to ranger in the first place

in general, if i can spike with storm spirit and wolf knockdown, the necro is toast. but if the necro starts the fight getting me low from afar while approaching a point, im doomed

Team Queues take no longer than 5 minutes for us because our rating is high, and right now bad players wanna solo queue and good players with teams wanna solo queue and team queue.

Im saying right now, I wouldn’t be posting stream proof if all we did was hot joins.

We’re all top 200 players on the Team Leaderboard and we’ve been playing together for 2 days. If the comp we were running wasn’t strong, we wouldn’t be beating Team Ultimatum, almost beating vVv’s super pug last night and being within a boss of beating Last Resort.

A) the build is not bunker, it’s high DPS roamer/team fighter
B) you can’t kill spirit rangers 1v1 and probably not necros , but you don’t 1v1. You force team fights or 3v3 and 2v2 skirmishes.
C) water 5 trait an water 15 trait are missed, yes. However CMC believes removing 1 heal for more toughness and stability is well worth the removal of a 1.3k heal every 10-12 seconds, as you basically get a “free” 5k heal with condi removal every 15 instead.
D) Low condi damage, yes. It’s a power class..?

And air trait line is good because of the passive stats and air 15 scaling as well as it does.

But I’m done arguing because Arheundel’s logic is absolute kitten.

All ele’s should be starting 20 earth for rock solid and ether renewal in this meta IMO.

Elementalist as a whole, is deemed not as viable as other classes in this meta, and it very well might not be. However, the build CMC is running is more than viable, in fact its actually very strong.

And its not staff.

None of those players play together on a regular basis. However, here is my thought process:

“Hey I just queued with a really good team. Maybe they’ll queue again. I should go queue!”

If those 5 players just left a game, odds are they’re queuing right around the same time. This is a fault for queuing not syncing.

Spirit Rangers need a huge tone down, necros need just a couple more changes to be perfect, condis in general just need a slight tone down. Right now it’s almost unbearable

Because your rank is tied to the individual and not the team, teams form quickly and disband quickly, or players will leave teams to jump to a better team because there is no punishment.

In GW1 there were requirements in place for their automated tournaments where you had to be part of the team for X amount of time or you could not play in their monthly automated tournaments. This forced players to become loyal to each other and not themselves and allowed teams to build synergy. Its no coincidence that the top teams in NA and EU have been together a long time, while all the other teams around them seem to rotate rosters a bit.

AL and USA have done nothing but change rosters since day 1.

Only eu teams stock together bro.

And overlord. Saying “where’s our support” to “oh we lose w/e” doesn’t help your cause. Earn respect. Don’t beg it.

HOWEVER. I am going to admit that having the finals the same day as the 2nd bracket was bit silly. Having all but the top 8 matches day one and then top 8 matches day 2 seems a bit more fair.

We freaked out when our teleport spots left, and you know what happened? We were told it was unintended. We were using a part of the game that should not have been there.

Same thing here. If you enter death shroud and you take 20k, the remainder should go to your health pool, which is the 2nd highest in the game ill add.

Quit complaining that a bug was fixed. And there is a little more emphasis on PvP right now because PvE is getting new content every 2 weeks and a major selling feature of GW2 is about to occur.

We recently have begun looking for a 5th for our team and were looking for active players who have had previous and current success in GW2 tournaments.

Must be active and willing to play most days at around 8 pm PST for 2-3 hours. Must be willing to play 1-2 roles very well, with the only spot not available being Guardian. Most professions welcome, must be very vocal and know good rotations, strategies and have good game sense. Preferabbly be top 200+ on the leaderboard, but not a necessity.

Due to the qualifier not using TotSS, can we remove it from the rotation on Friday and just have the main 3?

I realize it may be boring for people, but I don’t want to have to set up scrims for 4 days because we don’t want to practice on a map that isn’t even being used (yet)

Is it gonna be that teams need to be ready to go at specific times? Or are you gonna tell us who we play, and it’s up to us to arrange a time that day to play it?

If so, I suggest we start a little bit later as 11 PST is a bit too early. 12 might accommodate more people and it does say “subject to change”.

Who do we talk to about game specific rules? Ex. Switching classes between matches, before a match starts, etc

that is a VERY early starting period. Unless you give us our matches and we play them when our team is ready (like Mist League) and the time per match is capped.

Can we have it start at like. 12 PST or 1 PST or something? Or can you clarify how the tournament proceedings go? Because 2 days for 32 teams to do a best 2/3 is a LONG time

Also are teams allowed to change classes during the tournament/before a game? How will that be controlled?
