MtD is fine, sure they took some of torment out of us, but I still wreck pretty much everyone so it didn’t make that much of a difference to me… And uh, no, I don’t just let my clones attack, I shatter a lot.
ANet… Don’t forget us please.
I just want to go back to playing my game as I used to.
Hi, I’m experiencing this same fps drops, before that the game was fine, but now it plays ok then bam, fps lag spike for some secs, than back to normal, it’s really annoying…
I play on a notebook, i7 third generation, 6gb ram and gtx 740m. It’s not hardcore or anything, but can run stuff pretty well in general… And it did run GW2 pretty well, but not anymore. :/
This last two weeks it got worse and more frequent.
Hi, just recently I got the same bag and already on the preview the gloves already show no effect. I’m using light t2 human armor as the chest.
Sadly it does make me not even properly open the bag since it simply won’t work, which is a shame, because the effect is pretty awesome.
TM should have it’s own meta at the end of world 4 imo, the greatest title ever and some of the cooler rewards. Like an angry cloud endless tonic, angry cloud mini, all the devilish things that are yet to come etc.
I can dream.
Yes.
15chars…
…
What I found while playing normal mode was that it was indeed challenging but mostly due to unpredictable events. Like Ninjas not getting hit by attacks, the launcher doesn’t shoot me far enough, hitting my head on invisible walls and falling to my death. I can’t overcome these things by becoming a better player, I just have to hope that they don’t happen. Sure after many deaths I’ll get an attempt that I can get through on but its not due to me or my skills improving, its more like the stars aligning just right for me to get through.
…
Hm? What kind of unpredictable events? The ones you said were probably bugs due to your latency… Not a thing random by design.
Thanathos, actually Moto just meant that you played too much.
I call this…“LOOK AT MY kitten” topic.
You haven’t done anything noteworthy.
You haven’t done anything requiring skill. To quote you… “I even had fun doing it”. Congrats… I guess you like repetitive mindless things heavily on the side of luck.
Hi?
TM atm is probably the hardest content in GW2, it requires tons of skill and luck plays pretty much zero part on it.
Please explain.
My favorite was the clouds on the cloud appearing very creative making you jump around and hop over all of them.
Ikr. I wouldn’t mind stepping on them all day. So fun.
I was finally able to do this a little while ago after working on the level for a few hours…then I went to maximize my screen (because you can’t change gamma in windowed) and closed out gw instead. I can’t tell you how sad I am right now.
Dang. I feel for you. You’ll definitely do it and a lot faster next time.
It’s pretty funny and awesome how you feel doing a level for the second time, after you’ve done it once is just SO much easier and faster.
World 1 was pretty painful the first time around, not I’m able to do it x5 faster and in the “daily run” feel. If I had the time to play besides the weekend and some weekdays, I’d definitely be doing that haha.
Looking forward to reach this level on world 2, just did it all one time.
It’s a really great skin and what it represents is awesome, but for it to be perfect a trail is missing. I so want a trail for mine.
Angry cloud endless tonic please.
Haha, imo the last part is the most fun one, the one after moto’s finger location. Very fun to do those jumps. Not hard, just fun.
Sigh.
Go around the left side of the temple you’re in, you’ll find some clouds, go jumping them, go jumping above the woods of the huge bell, get to the roof of the other temple, get the baloon, put it on the checkpoint.
By the way, I hope you have tons of lifes OR avoid the checkpoint before the final pillars (those near the ice part where the boss stands, right after the teleports), otherwise you’ll be respawning on spikes and lose atleast 2 lifes each time.
Which are the weapons who leave a trail, besides the shield?
My SW GS doesn’t QQ
I did it today with this, very very frustrating haha, but managed to do it.
They’ll probably fix it tomorrow.
Higher skilled players? LOL. After they added infinite continue coins, all “skill” requirements went out the window. Now it’s just a matter of patience and time.
This is a broken argument. Patience and time are what develop skill. You still have to use skill to complete Trib mode. All the infinite coin does is afford time to the player that would have otherwise been wasted grinding out more baubles for continue coins. There is functionally no difference between walking into Trib mode with 2000 continue coins that you farmed baubles for or an infinite coin that you farmed gold for (or paid for in cash). The only real difference is that one person spent an inordinate amount of time grinding baubles. It’s 80’s arcade design specifically built to make you use more tokens by putting traps in place that ‘skill’ doesn’t help you with. You’re meant to die and memorize by design, then use skill and a good memory to carry you through.
Exactly, TM requires a lot of skill, anyone who did all the levels can vouch for it, world 2 can get pretty insane and frustrating sometimes, the levels are long and require some pretty precise jumps, fast reaction and planning.
Play level 2 two times. Done, now everything’s easy on it.
The design was spot on for me, z1 was a bit overnerfed imo, but I get that the mechanics weren’t working as intended, so it’s fine.
Everything else was really well designed in my opinion, with the exception of TM w2z2 at the end of it where the checkpoints are bugged (it was a hotfix), but they should fix it soon enough.
I’m just glad I did it before the nerf, so I know how harder it was and the struggles I went through and overcame them.
It’s a bit sad that it’s THAT much easier now, but I also believe it will be good for long run, so more people can do it… Eh, bittersweet.
If you really want to do z3: redo z2. It’s the only way around it.
Stay near chest at the end, don’t go to hub before you’re suposed to.
They probably even can’t “just open” it for you.
Can you do World 2 without slingshot or bomb?

To be able to do w2-z3 you HAVE them and 400 baubles to buy the torch in the first part of the level.
I finished z2 and z3 last night, was pretty fun and frustrating, good stuff.
I have a question for all of you… Why do you say z2 is so long, but doesn’t say that for z3? Z3 is way way way way way waaaaaaaaaay longer, atleast that was my perception.
I already had done z2 halfway through before but had to leave, but z2 can be pretty fast (and I’m not talking about eagle), totally doable in less than an hour.
Now when I think of z3, Jesus, that took me 3 hours, it was my first time, but I don’t see myself getting it done in less than an hour.
Maybe till the end of the month I’ll eat my words and do it, but it’s such a huge map I don’t see it.
Each time I thought it was going to end, it just would continue non-stop, z2 felt like that tons of times too, but z3 was so much worst in my eyes, in that aspect.
Z3 has some really nice puzzles and was pretty fun, less death traps, more getting puzzly puzzles and some really annoying things, but A LOT longer to do in one sitting.
Z1 is completely fine, not very long if you already did it once.
Z2 with eagle is super fast.
Hey Josh.
As I said before, the first time I went through z1 and z2 of w2 it was really really painful and took me a long time, frustrating and tiring, but now I’m able to almost breeze through them, it has became a lot easier on the second run and that’s a pretty good feeling.
The work you and your team did in this release is amazing, I like that the levels are long, it’s good, the only negative side of it it’s that a great deal of us don’t have that much time to play focusing on a long session. But when I do get the time for it, it feels great.
I just really want to let you know that all you guys did was worth it in my opinion, all the effort and all nighters, the passion you put in the game continues to show and it keeps the heart warmer when we’re dying non-stop.
Please don’t be discouraged, you do amazing work.
@Airyll: I feel the same way about SAB, in the sense that I love to play solo and think it’s perfect for it, it’s fun to play with friends, but for me the real deal is solo and I think it’s perfectly suitable for that, we do have the tools to work around enemies and beat them, just gotta use them.

I believe something similar happened to me, while going to put the first fish on the blue thing, the second time we do that.
Maybe I clicked too many buttons at once when going to drop it to reset and take again, but it did take me out of the instance.
Eh, it happens, now I know the path a bit better, won’t take so long.
Hey Josh, just gave a good read to the thread.
I’ve played level 1 and 2 of W2 (almost finished 2, I really believe I was close… off to find that eagle when I can play again – thursday). It really was pretty hard, I bought the infinite coin the moment I saw it because it would make things much easier and I would’t feel guilty of using too much coins. It was a very nice and thoughtful addition to put them on the daily chests too.
I believe the mechanics present themselves pretty well and don’t overwhelm that much, but the difficulty of everything was pretty startling at first, it felt like I imagined TM (I didn’t do it yet).
I intend on getting all the achievs just like W1 and will try my best on TM, so I consider myself casual/bit hardcore in the sense that I’ll try non-stop when I can and for hours and I get pretty good at it.
After having finished rapids for the first time, I do believe I can finish it a lot faster now, the things that were blocking me the first time were misunderstandings of how to act, now that I learned by myself the way, it’s easier. It still is a longer level, of course, but not that much.
The second one, full of assassins, still seems pretty hella big to me, but I didn’t complete it or found the shortcut, so indeed I’m not that experienced with it.
I still “don’t get” how to go that much faster on that one, the jumps are a lot trickier and require better positioning, the assassins are a lot harder as enemies too.
I consider the difficulty good… But only because I am willing to take the pain and all the frustration I felt while playing, so indeed for a “normal mode” it felt more like hard (I like to think of TM as insane, but didn’t try it yet so Idk), so I do believe it will push some people away in the state it is now.
I’m not saying I think it needs changing, just my perception of it while playing.
It required more thought and will to complete than W1, by far and far, that’s good, I learned a lot and believe I’m better prepared for what’s to come, but maybe that wouldn’t be the case for the target audience you were hoping for.
That’s terrible. I’m guessing the fish thing was a coincidence. I really wish there was a way we could detect disconnect as opposed to exploit. Sorry.
I understand. :~~
Luckily I didn’t have problems back in April, but some people did suffer getting all bubbles on level 3 and getting dc, but it’s a risk. XD
The jumping pads to get the elite skill were a pain back then too, due to how the game try to locate us to tell the server etc, it still shows on the rapids, a lot, but I think it got better, atleast for me.
I dont mean to be a sourpus, but could you please fix this. i died several times trying to hit that gator =/
Basically i had to get off the log in order to hit him standing on some invisible ledge. tried it from different angles but only there i could get him. I wasted 4 coins on that lol.
http://imgur.com/B7enbYN
Hahahahaha, the moment I saw you saying “trying to hit that gator” I knew which one it was, it took me two deaths before I decided to try. Just use the projectile weapon (forgot the name in english, sorry) just before jumping on the plank of wood. Done deal. =)
I don’t have the time to read the whole thread atm, so sorry for that.
Had anyone got this weird bug where SAB would kick you out after dropping a fish?
I FINALLY was getting at the end of the second level of world 2, I believe since it was a really long while, I was on the dojo puzzle where I have to put fish on the thing, the second one, I died some good times and was finally getting the fish into the thing, then I dropped it to reset the one time it can… and It kicked me out.
Maybe, maybe maybe my mouse went nuts and I clicked on leave instance, but I wasn’t even pressing it at the time. :|
Really sucked to lose all those hours inside it haha, but eh.
I also got two DCs during rapids…
Josh, would there be anyway to reenter where we stopped after a dc or something?
In world 1 was ok, but world 2 the levels are so much bigger it gets painful.
Hi there!
In this special date that antecipates the glorious return of SAB, I present you this great suggestion, PLEASE MAKE A MINI SHOPKEEPER.
He could say IHHHHHHHHH BOYYYYYY EYYYYYY BOYYYYY from time to time.
I’d love that. Deeply. I’ve been day-dreaming about the shopkeeper cheering on us since I heard him for the first time on World 1. Best cheer ever.
Please do it.
Obs: I can’t stress enough how glad I am that we’ll be able to make a mini Miya from mini Moto. Thank you.
(edited by Dan.8709)
Like before, I’ll throw out the caveat that I’m not claiming that the SAB team is that master craftsman pushing the medium forward in dramatic brilliant ways. Only that we are THINKING about the design choices we make, we recognize when we are breaking rules, and we have a reason for doing so. Because SAB exists within the ecosystem of Guild Wars 2 it’s not going to be an exact replica of IWTBTG. We’re a hybrid, and that brings lots of interesting challenges with it. I’m sure we’ll learn a lot from this first TM release, and incorporate those lessons into the next round.
You might rethink your choices, when real competition will show up next year and those RPG type of GW2 fans, lured here by some manifesto, will leave for other games with more fantasy and less SAB. Hybrids tend to have the flaw to become ‘neither – nor’ very fast and without prior announcements. Hybrids are often done by people who don’t really know how to do either really well. But perhaps I am only prattling as well
We can only hope that you will leave with them and go make unfounded complaints elsewhere. We can only hope.
Obs: I’m not discussing the subject because there’s no point, you simply won’t stop being bothered by this type of content anyway.
@Mad Queen Malafide – Dang. Absolutely amazing. I’m really hoping for similar things on TM.
I did P4 recently (a month ago max), it was bugged in the sense that the 45sec cooldown didn’t exist, she would stealth wherever she liked (normally between 10-25secs max, here and there she stealthed again in less than 10 secs), but still we managed to beat her by doing the sparks really fast and hitting as much as we could in that time.
It took us a while and we had to reset the fight to try properly and knowing better about the lack of cd, but on second try we did it without problems. Our sparks were really really fast.
Why are you whining for literally nothing?
If you don’t like its ideas and concepts, stay the hell away from it and don’t play it.
So what if we didn’t buy GW2 expecting a retro JP or the “lemonade” thing (which totally doesn’t apply, like, AT ALL)? It’s a BONUS, it’s one of the things I love most about the game, the passion the SAB team has for it shows on the product.
It came after, it’s optional, you do it if you want, it’s super bloody fun for a huge amount of us.
I really don’t get the complaints.
Tbh hopefully there won’t be a meta-achievement, I quite liked how it was, just to get the title. I did each and every possible achiev.
We do know there will be a second title for this new world, so it could be just like it was before.
The Tribulation Mode skins are color-shifted variants of the regular set. Each World has a color. Blue is the general SAB color (so not gained through Tribulation Mode), Green is World 1, Yellow World 2, Red World 3 and Purple World 4. This follows the Bauble value color scale. But don’t get your hopes up for getting the Tribulation color variants. Tribulation Mode is ridiculously difficult and time consuming. I don’t expect to see many green or yellow super skins out there. TM is there for a very small group of people who are into that sort of thing.
Josh… Oh Josh.
I love you so much, you and your team.
All I can say about this: IHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BOOYYYYYYY, EYYYYY BOYYYYYYY.
Obs: Mods, don’t delete my post, go play SAB and get the message ok, don’t repeat your wrong-doings!
JOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU’RE MY HERO AND I LOVE YOU DEARLY, YOU AND YOUR TEAM, but mostly you, I’m a guy and I’m a fangirl for you, seriously.
Great youtube videos on your channel, I LOVE SAB TO DEATH, THANKS.
(edited by Dan.8709)
IT’S THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD.
World 1 was pretty doable, yup, I expect the second one to be too.
And yes World 2 will be harder. Tribulation mode will be insane!! Please be insane!
I LOVE YOU JOSH FOREMAN AND SAB TEAM.
Great read, thanks for sharing!
Looking forward to the greater stories coming along.
I disagree, the books in game are presented in a far from optimal way, not good at all to read, hence it is a dialogue system.
Have you read the original posts from the ANet blog? They were preeety big and they were brilliant, explaining a lot of some races culture, caracteristics etc, similar to DA’s codex models.
Just give us a codex like Dragon Age, it’s perfection. That way you could bring back those wonderful texts that were present in the deceased Anet blog. That was a wonderful thing.
“not have it at all”, pfft. Just give us both, no need to get that sentimental about it.
(edited by Dan.8709)
The last releases we had we were able to “relive” past events we did, this wasn’t the case, my question: why?
We can ALWAYS miss stuff and want to repeat it with more attention.
Personal issue, won’t matter to most but I think it’s a point to think of when making content too:
Due to pve culling/bad computer rig, it’s tons easier. At the moment I’m unable to play with proper gear but of course still want to participate in the event, I did everything, but you see, normally when I saw the pirates models 90% of them were dead.
In the last part I barely saw any, just the names. When it’s fine that I completed it without any trouble, it isn’t that I didn’t actually see the story. I guess there was to be a ship on the sky dropping them off on 1 and 4? I read they come on a lightining. On my screen they just popped up from thin air, but I don’t know if that was true to everyone or just to my rig, so yeah.
(edited by Dan.8709)
Bobby, please, pretty pretty please, make a codex, it would be PERFECT, we would discover things as we do content and it’d appear in our codex, we lorelovers would absolutely adore it and it would be immensily helpfull and interesting to everyone who cares about the story and the world. Please, pretty please… Just tell us you’re reading this, many people want this for so long.
He’s a wobot. Wobot’s don’t bleed, they don’t get poisoned.
They should make new conditions that we can apply on wobots. Like vírus.
On a more serious note, what I said is true, that’s why… It’s unfair for condi-based? Yeah, a bit, but the fight isn’t complex/hard/that serious anyway so I think it’s warranted there. Also, NO GROUP EVER should be just about condition, gotta have that balance right there (funny how purê power dps can do wonders on everything though).
Today I got myself thinking back on October when we had Halloween and it was amazing, blew everything out of the water and it was “perfect”, it had tons of things to do, everything was interesting and engaging enough.
On the third act we had a mini-dungeon/encounter which was pretty interesting, it was almost only one fight, but it had terrain change, different parts to it and it was really nice and FUN. It gave us good feelings about it and had us there, active and having fun on the fight.
ArenaNet knows how to make good content, they’ve proved it from the beggining, even looking at some personal story instances (Example: the one at the mesmer house where we fight the Mouth of Zaithan) we can see how well thought and a kittenallenging they can be (even if just at the beggining when we’re getting hold of the mechanics). With good history, the sense of urgency and make it engaging.
This didn’t happen in Canach’s Lair (both instances). At all. No sense of urgency, no emotion, npcs still where it’d seem like they’d go along with you, fairly simple (oversused and boring in my opinion) mechanics that barely add anything to it, not even the illusion of challenge (I get that everyone should be able to make it, but you guys have proven to know how to make us feel like it’s a kittenallenging when it isn’t much) and what more you may want do add here.
My point is, why?
You’ve clearly shown you can do a LOT better, even on your first release ever! Everyone was just amazed at everything on Halloween, it was pretty polished, nice and with new ideas, we loved it!
We want this game to be the best it can be, we believe in it, but I can’t think any QA of yours played this Canach instance and thought it was good, not when they experienced content you’ve made before which is far better.
You can do it better, so please, please, do so. This instances were disappointing, that’s done, but we’re here for better content and we’ll be happy to praise it when it happens, as it was with the F&F Molten Facility.
Keep the great work you’ve been doing before and don’t settle for less.
Obs: Feel free to agree/disagree and put your input.
I’m a big ANet fan too, but as you well described, it felt stupid, gimmicky and lazy and it’s really sad.
First time I really really disliked something of theirs I think.
The fights were stupid and boring as heck, sure, but it doesn’t matter if they were worse (could they?), it would never warrant this kind of behavior.
Grow up and tell your parents to educate you better.
Yeah, I was really disappointed with them, I could have more fun fighting some random veteran on the world, seriously.
And here I thought you were going to say that both fights suck incredibly, plain and simple, because it’s true, but no, I’m faced with this text of yours. I’m sad.
Me and two friends, on first try, managed to get it to 5% hp with all the boring setup and fight, but one made a mistake, the other went to ress and we were all gone then.
We tried again with two randoms, we finished it in idk, 40 secs top? We just stayed with it on the entrance and we killed it really fast, no problem, no difficulty, no one barely got any dmg on them.
With 3 it can be hard if not properly strategized before, but knowing the fight and keeping it at entrance? Cake.
My input on this thread:
" I grow tired of the foolish foolery of the foolish fools of this foolish country."
