I am no longer able to see mordrem Bladedancers when they stealth
Yes i have Nuhoch stealth detection. Funny because i was able to see/kill treasure mushroom earlier today

quick update: i still see mordrem snipers.
frogs regardless if cotzic or mordrem are usually invisible to me, happens to event mobs and standalone open world ones, veterans and while alike. Yet sometimes i see them
I am aware that they can teleport. i still can kill them in stealth while autoattacking “air”, i just dont see them most of the time

Hey

After nearly a week of doing fractals with my guild i wanted to share some thoughts on the matter with you guys.

I really like new form of fractals, one a piece is fast enough for everybody to play as much as they plan to play, without unexpected prolongation if you get cliffside, dredge and mai – thats a big plus

Although there are some problems that emerge;

-First of all, Toughness in higher lvl fractals
I really get it why you liked the idea of scaling toughness through fractal lvls, it encourages variety of builds and make condition based characters more viable, that’s very cool on paper. The problem is, though, that with scaling toughness – instead of vitality – we’ll soon see sinister/viper meta just replacing existing berserkers in high lvl fractals.
Ergo – nothing will change.

I mean yesterday while doing uncategorized, I was hitting champion ettin for 2-3k whlist having 3+k power, come on!

Now, Dante, why won’t you go with tanky guys if that’s too tough for you?

It’s not the case. Some players/guilds (me included) will try and find fastest way to beat the encounter – that means offensive stats on everything – and let me tell you, survivability is not an issue!
The problem is fights taking ungodly amounts of time. Bosses hit less than before HoT, but are sooo tanky that without full condi party it takes literally ages to take them down

Before HoT came out, there was alredy fair variety of builds between condi and berserkers in PvE – not high enough, but there were more and more condi players each week.

The faded 2.6k is Rift Slash, The 1.3k is the second part of Brutal Blade when it comes back.
If you tested Rev in beta as you mentioned, you should know that Rift Slash is the hardest hitting of the chain and there is no way it could be as low as 1.3k

In your screen shot, the 1.3k is actually the brutal blade damage. It used to hit as hard as half of a Rift Slash (3rd hit) which shows as almost 2.6k in the picture.

If you look closely you can see that Rift Slash icon is pressed and its animation is ending – there animations are unique enough to distinguish each one of them – so you’re wrong here

As for coefficients – although i do not know them, screenshot shows you 2,5k BB (as i just explained, its not riftslash), just as it does now, so it was not buffed.

B: Notice how most skills that apply multiple times always have a “x2, x3…etc” counter next to the damage component, this isn’t true for skills that have a returning component.
See: Brutal Blade, Tides of Time, Envoy of Exuberance Path of Scars, Throw Shield, Phoenix.

All of these skills hit twice, yet their effects in the tool-tips are totaled to assume you hit both out-going and in-going, not split between “you’re always going to do this even if you hit once”.

Wrong;
Bladetrail applies cripple cripple on the way in (4s) + on the way out (4s) resulting in 8s cripple
Throw shield – you countered yourself here, 1s+1s, 2second daze in total
Envoy of Exuberance – gives 4s protection in total

For all of those spells, as well as Brutal Blade, each strike counts individually and apply effects each time.

Those spells which have (x2) (x8) (x12) – for example Hundred blades, Whirling Defence, apply unique effects over the duration of the spell, WD 12 vuln in total – but that’s in the tooltip (x12)!!

Spells like Throw Shield, Brutal Blade, Tides of Time, Envoy of Exuberance, Path of Scars, Throw Shield ect apply their effects twice – no x8 in the tooltip!

C’mon, i’ve spent my time in Heart of the Mists, bot in bwe and now, dont give me this fake-math and untested arguments with invalid conclusions – check in HoTM before posting BS please

Brutal blade is 3/4s, there’s no “second part” to it. it is second part of the autoattack chain though

As for now, I’m really surprised that noone could back me up nor prove me wrong.

Also, as far as i know, Brutal Blade was changed due to projectiles being obstructed on some targets, now that its fixed, I’d welcome old BB and its synergy with axe

Also, i said that i tested it in HoTM, 2k twice in bwe and only once now

For reference, there’s similar skill, gs4 on warrior – Bladetrail. Description says it cripples, and it does both on the way to enemy and when coing back, same for its damage

Okay man, i really am going to feel bad if it turns out that im wrong, but you cannot argue with the numbers. I’ve just shown and analyzed you a screenshot and provided info from wiki page updated 8th of August

I also checked my theory in Heart of the Mists, both for damage and for vuln
You used to do up to 18 stack of vuln just from autoattacking without vuln or attack speed modifying runes/sigils and 25 stacks on impossible odds

I dare you, prove me wrong cause i wish i am

I just think it is an oversight and should be fixed

According to still outdated wiki article it used to apply 2 stacks of vuln, making it 4 in total.

Also, judging from numbers i get autoattacking, damage was definitely not doubled; here’s screenshot i made for describing (fixed) bug, the one with lingering upkeep effects

Short description what we’re seeing:
I’ve just used 3rd skill in aa chain, it hit for 1359
A bit faded there’s 2533 from 2nd aa skill – Brutal Blade. It doesn’t hit anywhere near 5k now, so its damage was not compensated

Sorry friend, i do not now how did you get your informations but get your facts straight

EDIT: also, i am taking into the account that i do not have acces to herald traits yet
EDIT2: just tested, bb hits for ~2k in pvp golem, that’d line up nicely for my theory, on screed i had +8%dmg from herald

I’m sorry you feel this way, but rev is kinda in old ranger’s spot, he doesnt excel at anything i feel.
In BWE3 he was great melee dps class with decent support through Assassins presence. Since he doesnt have acces to other unique party-wide dmg modificators, i’d say some damage should back him up
edit: even in bew3 he was nowhere close to sinister engi so….

Come on Roy, after BWE3 you said that you feel that “Revenant is in healthy place”

I know Brutal Blade was causing some strange behavior and people didn’t like it in general, so it had to go or be changed. But this change hit Revs AA pretty hard and reduces his damage and vulnerability output in PvE environment pretty hard. Also it doesn’t synergize with Temporal Rift anymore.

Can we get increased damage on other skills autoattack change to compensate it?
10% per strike and an extra 2 stacks of vuln on Brutal Blade would do it

I’m really glad that’s you’re taking into account our feedback but don’t nerf AA chain just like it!

- 2 vuln for 6 sec on the way forward + another 2 vuln for 6 sec on the way back gets cut in half
- target cap 3 (i assume) instead of 5
- don’t forget damage was applied twice!

and yes, yes i’m aware that i do not know final numbers, i’m just reminding of its mechanics

I just wanted to note, that traits such as Bolstered Anguish (Master) and Pulsating Pestilence (Grandmaster), both of which are from Corruption specialization were hit very hard, and are not worth taking after Legendary Demon Stance rework, leaving no decent condition traits

Depends how you look at it, there’s passive 5 energy regeneration, 5 degeneration → max upkeep cost is 10

Impossibble odds is just the best skill to look at with this bug cause it costs 10 energy regen, you’ll have the same effect when for example swapping from Glint (minimum 4 upkeep cost) to Mallyx and using elite

I’ve noticed there is currently existing bug that prevents you from using upkeep skills after legendswapping if you were using any upkeep skills before swappping legends.

For example, i’ve used couple upkeep skills on Glint legend, swapped to shiro, and was unable to use Impossibble Odds, because of persisting effects+energy degeneration from Glint.

NOTE for all Heralds out there, you are not able to use skills which would cause your total energy degeneration over 5. It’s not a bug i presume, just class mechanic
It just so happens that this particular class mechanic causes bug described by me -.-

Simplest solution – cut off any upkeep effects on legendswap instantly (except F2 Herald)

I’ve posted it on BWE2 and it’s still here in BWE3

Can we have increased attack speed on Rev? I feel that with this trait missing, autoattack feels very slow. And yes i know it’s only 10% but i can feel the difference

Problem with this skill, is that its damage is dealt with significant delay after swinging the sword. I know the skill is supposed to throw a projectile, and it’d be decent animation for ranged weapon, however in melee it feels very clunky and unresponsive

My suggestion is to change projectile origin in the direction of swords tip, so damage can be applied as soon as “damage bolt” is thrown out or throw projectile earlier in the animation, so it arrives near sword’s tip in more appropriate time.

Personally i’d see 1st option as more viable, because since you can’t pass through enemies animation/damage would be best synchronized and there would be no way for this projectile to start behind your enemy thus negating its damage

During the stream i noticed that “gravedigger” attack in spins twice, but deals dmg only once, it got quite irritating after awhile.
Is it just me or do you think dmg should be halved and dealt twice for the same effect and better clarity?

Need an example? here’s one:


In lvl 15-25 charr area you may find a lumbering camp with a Heart NPC – nothing interesting at 1st glance. There’s a fair chance that when you are completing heart 5 events will pop up; warband is organizing itself to assault flame legion base NE from that position. If you are succesful you can notice a portal from that base to….Flame Legion Tombs where you have to solve some puzzles (put statue’s head into canoon to shoot attic to crush thick ice underneath and such). At the end of your way you will find grand chest with possibbly great rewards.

And it only began with a boring Heart NPC

There are many things ANet have done to improve QOL in the past, mostly in the Feature Packs, but i think we could use some more of them – or perfect what they’ve been trying to introduce

Let’s start with the chests
Chests everywhere. A friend of mine recently started playing the game, and one thing that felt weird to him were chests…chests for everything
Do you guys remember that feeling seeing “wooden” or better “steel chest” on the ground 2 years ago? Yes, that meant excitment.
Now when chest is not a rare thing, most of us dont give a kitten about them. Yes some of us wants more and more of them, but having a single chest… doesn’t produce emotions

Suggestions:
Lvl up chests every 5-10 lvls with meaningful reward – combination of 5 alredy existing
OR move them to Personal Story rewards and just pop up hint wbout WvW/Death penalties upon lvling up
Champion lootboxes – add content to standard loot table from boss
Daily is quite ok i’d say
(how about less greens -> more gold or raw materials from chest?)

Next topic i wanna touch are skills with evade
Evading and dodging is a very important part of gameplay, no doubt about it, but skills that provide additional evades are somewhat unreliable, don’t you think?
I’m not talking about stunbreakers, those are mostly OK (Lightning reflexes/Roll of Initiative and such), but weapon skills that simply queue up for usage after current attack finishes its casting.
Death Blossom, Blurred Frenzy, Burning Retreat, Burning Speed – These, and probably few other are somewhat unreliable during the encounter due to “queue mechanics”

I suggest making them instant, just like dodge is.
If you feel they may gain too much unintended damage – lower power ratios on them
I agree that most of the time you as a players dont care about the dodging part, but for those who are lvling and trying to dodge using spells the delay might be confusing.
It’ll also make harder content more skill oriented – not just gear perfected (Soloing dungeons for example)

I’m looking forward to some discussion, what do you guys think?

Salvaging Ascended Items

I’m sitting on about 20-25 ascended rings from fractals and i dont want to just sell them to merchant. Is there a possibility of salvaging them in the future?
Salvaging them into… let’s say 3 ecto and some Empyreal Fragments or Obsi Shards wouldn’t hurt the market and getting one you don’t need will still feel somewhat rewarding

I see your point Equinox, but race is not really a factor in PvE balance.
Mesmer, Dervish, Paragon, Ritualist – those professions are unique to gw universe (though dervishes existed in real world), ANet can always come up with new idea and i’d love them to do so

6. The Tengu don’t really have any interesting lore going for them, since they were added mostly as a Cantha thing which means the real strength of their lore actually came from the Canthan Empire fondly trying to obliterate them.

Firstly, I agree 100% with this point. I think Tengu would be better rolled out if a Canthan expansion ever happened. Maybe helping them re-establish a role in Cantha after the injustice that occurred, either as a foreign visitor, a domestic rebel or a Tengu.

Secondly though I would disagree they don’t have much lore. Quests in GW1, including the Tengu Accords and Winds of Change quests, gave some insight to the Tengu. While they are a bit like the Charr in a way, they are also a bit like norn in their sense of honor and loyalty. Comparing them as bird-Charr seems a bit off.

Basically, the Tengu can be seen as stereotypical samurai – loyal to death to those who prove themselves worthy of their loyalty (such as Talon’s loyalty to the humans after Togo’s exploits in the Tengu Accords). Then there are the outcasts who only have loyalty for their fellow Tengu, not necessarily aspiring to flame legion shamans or anything.

They had no reason to come and help those who are unworthy. Shooting hails of arrows down the wall was enough to stop invaders from reaching wall itself

But:
They saw us trying to save people who would have died in the city covered in miasma
They saw us fighting invaders and saw our success

What does it mean? Well, honor is a thing among Tengu, i guess we’ve shown them that we have it

You’ll have to add Personal Story only up to lvl 30, then (with orders) it’s same for everyone (and feels less “personal”, besides). It seems our next LS can be focused in Maguuma Jungle, so i dont see Kodan coming up soon.

On the other hand, Tengu saw us fighting against “Great Enemy with the Drill” from their wall, so maybe they’ll change up their mind and let us explore Dominion of Winds as worthy

I think neither Kitsunes or Phoenixes would fit in Cantha/Elona, they seem too mythical for gw universe. Though Tyria (the planet) is a huge place, we’ve seen only small part of it through gw1/gw2. I wonder if ANet would let us explore other continents in the future

I really would like to see tengu as playable race, they’ve alredy Dominion of Winds very nice positioned near low lvl areas, so i guess implementing them would be easier than for any other (new or existing) race.

For class it’d be a bit harder due to balance, but i really hope for Dervish and Ritualist to come back to Tyria

What do you guys think? Is ANet going to surprise us with a new race during season 2 of a Living World?

130-170 ppl on TeamSpeak figuring out what/when/how to beat wurms for couple of days, communication and coordination. And Victory

In GW1 Proph. there was a cutscene after your Ascention with strange new voice… later player meets a Seer – voice’s owner.

In recently shown trailer we can also hear new interesting voice narration. What does it tell to us?
-Scarlet has a plan (and designs of some kind)
-She wants to succed, but we are NOT her target (“She will succeed at all costs, even if she has to kill every last one of you”)
-So, what exactly does she want? What is she aiming at?

And most importantly, whos that voice?
Not a dragon – that we know for sure from devs
Abaddon? Actually, why not? Yes, we’ve defeated him in Nightfall and Kormir absorbed his power but…
What if we only weakened Abaddon enough to let Kormir absorb his power and what’s left of him is some kind of humanoidal being? A person with ancient knowledge, not possessed by madness anymore?

Okay, and what’s on that picture below? Dominion of Tengu. And Destroyers. Any clues how could we connect that to current LS?

Weapon and armor effects issue (glowing items + invisibility effect)

-Sylvari male warrior (happens to any race and gender )
-Glowing items + invisibility effects (in my case: Fractal Hammer and Radiant Vambraces)

As you can see on 1st screenshot, both glowing gloves and hammer have transparent squares instead of item texture when character is invisible. it happens to with every kind of invisibility – mesmer, thief, combofields, even food that makes you ghost-like.

Helpful(?) info:
-I used total makeover kit in the meantime to change few details in my face
-Hairstyle stayed the same
-It was totally fine in early GW2 days
-It doesn’t matter what color/armor/weapons i wear, bug stays the same, even in preview
-According to my friend, it looks normal on newmade charr warrior

installing older ones helped

Have you noticed that Oaken Gloves branch bends every time your character move his hand? Seems like a bug to me

After i bought my full t3 oaken set for my male warrior, i had to reply to this posts;
I totally agree with Herio.5890 and Streamline.4085, it’s not really worth buying atm. Why?
1’ – I really don’t mind gloves (even bugged) and headwear, but other parts?
Back looks like naked – should look more like powerful OAK, it’s HEAVY armor isn’t it?
And what about legs? Have you ever seen oak? Dress-like hard lether
Legs down from thighs seems to have like zero protection and does not compose with back
Schoulderguard? One is pretty nice… pity it’s the only one (even smaller 2nd would be great)
2’ – Big armguard mess with helm, kind of texture bug (especially when you use 2 handed weapon), i’m sure you can remodel that nicely, ANet
3’ – All except one physical posture looks thin with this armor
4’ – Guess why it’s the least wanted t3 cultural in game….

I have to agree that it looks pretty cool on female characters, but then, why male have to be down-at-heel? Many people admitted that they changed their sex with makeover kits to make this armor look decent, is that what you want?

You proved you can create very nice plant-themed armors with Twillight Arbor sets, that’s why i bought cultural.

P.S. – Dear ANet dev, please post your thoughts about this topic, many people would like to know if they can expect some changes and save money for male oaken sets or give up and spend it elsewhere
