You make an imersive world that is interesting. As apposed to making a game to make money.

This game is just a platform to take your money, it’s not really here for your enjoyment… Unless you like what is considered here as extrinsic game play, or are too stupid to know what’s really going on.

I don’t think Anet could fix it. Their game doesn’t have the space for it, or a smart enough community left to suggest what they could do if they did feel inclined to make the game they talked about for 8 years. This is as good as they could do…

The game’s shallow, aimed at shallow people created by very shallow devs.

Given that the marketing was set up to give the impression it empathised with how peope felt about other games, and the people who were working on it “cared”, it’s a disappointment seeing what they, and some of you deem acceptable.

Yeah, they should add them to the laurel vendor for :-
*100 laurels
*500,000 karma
*50 gold
*650 badges
*36 guild commendations
*750 tokens from each dungeon
*3 bloodshards
*1000 fractal relics
*50 pristine fractal relics
*100 of each type of lodestone
And *50 of each t6 mat.

This should keep things in-line with other aspects of this game, and would maybe be quicker than playing for years in another game… But probably not.

Honestly, if people are still interested in this game, Anet should just give them what they want..

This is just to help give an advantage to big guilds that whine on mass.

Not only does the new system allow guilds to get new gear in half the time, they don’t actually need to spend any laurels on the new gear, giving them 80 more than people that still play in the same time.

So where I would be going around doing the shopping list Anet gives us, day in and day out, guilds don’t have to, because they special. By special I mean, probably dropped on their heads early on in development.

Oddly I haven’t seen any of these bad kitten guilds complaining that this is just pve… Well i suppose they can just high-jack WvW whenever they want anyway, so who cares…

The gap will widen as the game progresses. Those who have gold will be able to make better investments.

It’s the same with the real world. Those who are rich can make easy money on interest.

There’s nothing wrong with the income gap. If you’re poor, then you’re poor. I don’t have pity for you and neither should anyone have jealousy of the wealthy.

In the real world wealth is finite. If you have more than others it’s a certainty you got it from what amounts to robbing your fellow human beings.

He just said it would be for badges, he didn’t relate it to wvw beyond that. I’m guessing 100 laurels and 750 badges for some ascended gloves.

I’m glad that Anet causing drama by adding a 2 tier progression, seperating the haves and the have nots, is amusing. It’s so much fun when the developers are bigger trolls than the forum goers.

Darque Intent.1674

The whole thing is starting to seem overly childish to me.

Wasn’t the whole selling point for this game the fact that when everyone got to level 80 everyone would be equal when it came to gear, and that gear would be fairly easy to obtain?

If the difference between exotic and ascended is so unimportant, why the heck is it there? To annoy people like me who bought the game based on what they said to sell it, as opposed to those who wanted another MMORPG to faff about in?

I’m not sure why Arenanet is taking a dump on it’s product on a regular basis, but it seems to be intentional. And I doubt anything that is said on the forums or in game is going to change how the people who influence and impliment things, think of us. And given how vague their ideas for their game are put across, and the amount of supprises they like to give us, I can’t see them changing their attitudes to actualy include those people who they were selling the game to, when it comes to adding content, or considering what they already have.

A Canthan, an Asura and a Human get shot down. Having survived the crash the Asura suggests they search for supplies, so they head off in their own directions to see what they can find. On the way back the human, carrying some wood, bumps into the Asura, that’s found something to cook, and both head back to the crash site together. Wondering where the Canthan had gone as they approched, he, all of a sudden, jumped out of the bushes, with a legendary, and shouts “Supplies!!”.

So what’s it going to be next month? Armour or weapons?

Will either of these when they do unfortunatly come, be linked soley to solo play and being anti-social? If not I think that is unfair.

People in large guilds or players who have spent more than 1500 hours in game should have next to no chance to attain the next set of gear, to parallel what’s been done this update.

Soon there will be up to 14 peices of new gear with slightly highter stats. Has anyone done the math yet on the total difference between a full exotic set and a projected ascended set?

Almost feel like asking for a refund to see if Anet would, based on what I’ve read here without logging into the game. Age of Wulin, TESO and Neverwinter, I’m sure can’t come soon enough, so we can atleast compare what GW2 is to another modern MMo.

Will open world PVP servers be considered?

in PvP

Posted by: Darque Intent.1674

Darque Intent.1674

Since this isn’t a proper disscussion and none of the Open world PvPers can come up with a way to intergrate and improve on a system that’s stupid, I’ll point something else out from my extensive expirience with both games and people.

When I was younger I had a Snes, I had an F1 racing game and I also had a little sister. My little sister would sometimes whine and stamp her feet because she wanted to play the game I was playing, but it was only sngle player, and I was enjoying trying to get better at it. So from pressure from the parents and her insesant whining I let her play.

What she did next up-set me no end… Insted of playing the game, she drove off into the barrier and when asked what she was doing the reply was “shopping.”.

Open world pvp in this game would be like tryng to go shopping while playing an F1 game, unless they changed the Lore of the game and how OWPVP worked. But from these posts, I can see no-one really cares about what the game is in favor of what they want. The problem is you have to go out of your way to miss the point and act innocent. What we are talking about is commen sense.

Why should we accept people who aren’t mature enough to play a game with others within the rules of the game?

The tension in open world PvP is quite good, until you realise you dieing again is inevitable. I remember occasions where I beat some player about my level just to have their alt or their mate turn up with a fully geared fully leveld ant squasher. Never mind the times when I would see some guy on “my side” run off just before getting hit in the back of the head while trying to do some stupid quest.

If you don’t like WvW because of the zergs, blame the pvp mentality, it’s got very little to do with the carebares. The fact that you hide behind your keybords and act like you have no idea what we are talking about is absured, and makes about as much sense as getting your jollys through a system that amounts to a combination of virtual mugging kitten and rewards people for it.

As I said before if you are looking for this kind of thrill go kill an ant. If that seems silly and too easy, without any risk /reward, why not go mug an old lady…

And people who don’t understand logic shouldn’t comment on it’s percived use… Your ego is not God, and you’re not as smart as you think you are. Stop telling me how stupid you are while asking me to take you seriously.

Will open world PVP servers be considered?

in PvP

Posted by: Darque Intent.1674

Darque Intent.1674

I’m guessing it was considered, that’s why it’s not in this game outside of WvW.

The first time I heard about open world pvp it sounded like a really cool idea to me, but having played WoW, Aoin and Vanguard, I can honestly say it’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever encountered in something that calls itself a game.

And I’m sure WvW is feeling like a bit of a joke to me for similar reasons.

Sadly these pvp fanatics and elite guilds have yet to have a game made for or by them so we can tell them what we think of a game that involves getting hit in the head by a dump truck, becuase players don’t take anything but the drama they cause seriously. The fact there are two teams should at least mean that there are two teams, not just you, your mate on skype and the poor unwitting victim that’s trying to “play the game”.

Insert speculation here

And I kinda blame that attitude for turning most FPS games into a hack-fest, becuase they don’t want to play the game, they don’t know how… Pew Pew lazorz! I pawnzor! yoo Nubs! /Tea bags your scrunched up face! HAHAHAHAH! OMG DID YOU, yes YOU see that? LOL… what a noob…

Honestly… Stop sucking your thumbs and play the games how they are ment to be played. If you need a fix of open world pvp, go outside and squash an ant, and maybe say, “HEAD SHOT!! Damage? MORE THAN 9000!!!!”. And maybe record yourself doing it, watch it later, and see if it’s as impressive as the virtual equivalent.

(Sorry I’m a bit tired, but I’m going to hit enter anyway.)((And then post)).

In real life most of the characters I meet have less depth than alot of the Npc’s.
I don’t feel like a slave when I’m playing Guild Wars.
People wanting me to take them more seriously than a highly developed snail because they learned how to talk (easier to ignore in game).
I’m apparently insane, but am also convinced that it’s everybody else, and am waiting for them to realise that.
My ego can’t handle sunlight.
In-game if i get drunk and get jumped I don’t recive a concusion or brain damage.
While I’m playing Guild Wars people can only directly try to kill me when I’m in pvp.
My interactions online don’t come with the risk of STDs.
And as SC said, balance, fairness and rule sets also play a part…

But GW doesn’t have real boobies or bikes. So it’s a tough one…

Edit: I’d also like to add to the list in the games favor, that I can to a great extent, ignore scientific belief and religious belief, in favor of the game’s ideas of fantasy.

If someone wants to buy 100,000 gems there is nothing stopping them…
If someone is using bots to manipulate the trade post you could make it quite hard for people just playing the game to accumulate equivalent wealth…
Anet might employ people to run around with thses things so the rest of us want them…
They didn’t get their hands slapped because they didn’t directly abuse an exploite enough to have that happen…
They concentraited just on that goal alone… AS much as I hate to admit it, if I hadn’t played the game how I wanted to and didn’t spend any gold on anything ever I might have been able to get one by now. And could probably go a fair way towards one if I liquidated my bank, but any last steps, I’m sure, would be giant leaps.

But I can’t really see how this applys:-
“Really allowing you to show off your accomplishments and symbolize all the things that you’ve been doing”. That’s better represented by location specific gear and the world complete star… Since there is an obvious schism regarding these things. (Ecto and t6 mats don’t grown on trees. Nevermind the precursor.)

Tough issues

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Darque Intent.1674

Something I would like to point out is how I’ve noticed agro working. With alot of toughness you can get agro quite easily, by specing just dmg as a player with lots of vitality and toughness anyway are you really going the right route by letting everyone else with less of those stats fend for themselves, while you do your thing and tell yourself you’re cool because of the numbers poping up? I suppose if anything goes wrong you can simply blame other members of the group, because you have done the math and they obviously haven’t.

Here is an idea, instead of saying things like this is the best you all should do it, simply tell us what you have done, how it works and the short commings you have found (did you put that in anywhere, as you can tell I didn’t read it?), and if we care enough to try it we might. But I think you’ll find that most of us play this game without the need for reasurance.

If this comes across as hostile, excuse me. But maybe you should consider how you engage people if you want us to take you more seriously than a troll. There is no hard math for that, and you might have to think about your envioroment, which is where I think some people have a problem with your reasoning, because it’s just maths and justification, not reasoning at all..

Example:-
If I drive around at 120mph I’ll get places faster than if I drive at 60mph. But if anything goes wrong, I’m in a world of trouble and putting others in harms way. If nothing goes wrong, I’m fine. I should drive at 120mph because I’m good enough at driving, regardless.

Science is – Aim, method, hypothosis, experiment, results, observation, conclusion, evidence.
Math is – 1 + 1 = I’m right, unless 1 is a variable or is assumed or both. For the purposes of this 1 is 0.5 and the answer is 1, unless 1 is a variable or is assumed or both.

Maths is inferior to science becuase you can’t draw accurate conclusions from maths, just assumption based on the numbers you have. Go do science.

Why can't condition damage crit?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Darque Intent.1674

Darque Intent.1674

As a warrior with dual swords and a long bow with frenzie, I’m sure I could put 25 stacks of bleed on-top of a burning condition. Let’s say My bleeds do about 100dmg a sec and fire does more than 500, that’s more than 3000 dmg per second on-top of any phisical damage I might do. If they increased the count of bleeds they would have to diminish thier power, making condition builds even less desirable on an individual level than they already are. On a boss in a dungeon I can see less reason for it to be a problem, but on anything less than a champ, it might get really dead really quick…

I’m also fine with conditions not crit’ing. It makes an odd kind of sense to me.

Sorry if this seems rude, I know you (Anet) is busy with updates, but I was wondering if any thought had been given to adding the Shadow Weapons form FoW/UW and maybe the Victos set.

I would love to see these again in GW2, if you have an artist or two spare and someone to persuade Zommoros to play nice.

I also noticed a couple of weapon types missing from the fancy forge exotics, namely the Mace and Warhorn. If anyone feels like creating a few of these, I’m sure we’ll take them for granted, but would also be on the list of things that would make me smile(before I see the requirements).

It’s probably a case of the straw that broke the camels back, probably brought on by burning out on the content that’s available due to it’s un-rewarding nature, and lack of diversity as far as gameplay goes. Rather than any single bug or percived stupidness.

Having mini-games would be a good thing to add at somepoint, so there are in game distractions from us not grinding/ having the game turn into a grind becuase just as you thought you’d crack if you saw another junk item, nothing drops for the next two legs of an Orr DE…

Never mind feeling like you now have to login to do dailys to get your laurels, that you actualy have to go out of your way to complete. Salvaging? Mining? Underwater combat? Healing (you’d think WvW would be the place for this, but you’d be supprised..)… Where’s the do an /emote at 10 people in LA, or go afk for 5 minutes, click on the top valued items on the tp or even, drink an ale?

Funny how I was expecting a Guild Wars – San Andreas type feel, and we’re getting what amounts to a few steps up from painted figurines and a hand full of die (that doesn’t always work how we thought it should, or did before the last patch).

Sad but understandable.

But this gives you up to 8 20 second bleeds, has a block and has the single most damaging skill of a sword, rip… !

But I would say since the OP is using a Warhorn that it might synergise better with a mace using the plus dmg vs weakened foes and the mace speciality in the defence tree. And as much as it can bore me, I’ve got a GS for open world stuff for when I feel it would be more effective, though quite offten it feels slower than dual swords…

Using a mace and a shield in Orr is about the slowest way to solo open world content I’ve found, but I’ve never used a sword/warhorn combo.

I’ll help. There are 3 roles you can take when talking to someone. Child, Adult and Teacher.
If people are telling you that your logic isn’t correct they would be a ______, while you would take the role of a ______.
If your asking someone for help or advice, you’re taking on the role of a _______, asking an _______ or ________ for advice or information.
If you are talking at an informed level with someone else you are two ______ having a conversation.

This way of thinking falls down when people act like children that think they are better than the teachers, and don’t know how to act like adults. There are rules to logic, but not so much with non-sense.

It would be nice to be able to trade them for losestones or more Orrian chests, and maybe change it so you can only recive 1 unique account bound reward per character, because I really don’t need 7 of those minis either.

I remember reading a little while back how a lawyer was trying to sue the makers of Kain and Lynch on the basis of defamation of the Chinese people. This might have something to do with it, though I’ve never thought to go and see what came of it.

Or maybe it has something to do with the amount of spirits and monsters all cultures have and trying to blend them together without offending people who are looking to take offence, could be difficult. Perhaps also why the “Gods” have gone a bit quiet lately.

I’m not really into spirits and gods outside of virtual worlds, but I do enjoy them when they’re there, generally. And it would be a shame if creators felt inhibited writting things like that in on the basis that it reminded someone of something like that and didn’t think it was appropriate, instead of seeing it as fantasy borrowing from fable. Though none of this may have anything to do with the whys of the matter.

It is nice we got the aptly named fractals for people who like that sort of thing specifically, but I’m pritty sure alot of us commented on their story, and they still haven’t fixed that… or added cinamatics that weren’t slow and a bit dull…

It seems pritty clear to me that the manifesto was just marketing designed to give us the perception that this was the type of game alot of us wanted to play, unfortunatly that sentiment doesn’t bleed from my screen every time I load it up, even if that is how Anet sees themselves. But their hearts, as far as the PR is concerned, is in the right place, and it is a decent game, just not as mind blowingly awsome as some of us thought it could be. And ascended gear didn’t make the game more awsome for people who didn’t want it, so it’s nice you and others are happy, but I don’t expect people who didn’t care for this kind of thing, to be happy because you’re happy…

If they wanted to tweek the game and make us all more powerful they could have done that rather than giving us new gear, while still adding the fractals with neat rewards. But I’m guessing that wouldn’t have done anything to placate the whining comming from those that are now happy with ascended gear and the segregation it’s apparently caused.

I have to say I agree with the general perception but I’ve gotten over the whole where’s my loot, to being able to smile when something yellow does drop and hitting my space bar once or twice.

But saying that I’ve noticed that the new hero panel omits Magic find as a stat (and no longer tells you your total condition damage), and was wondering if races or class differences would provide different magic find numbers as a default. I notice that when I jump on my Human Thife for example, it tends to be more supprising in terms of what drops compared to my Norn Warrior that I play mostly, and have wondered if their base stats as far as magic find goes, are different in any way.

I’m guessing probably not, and is more tied to how offten that character plays and spends time in Tyria, but it would be nice to know in terms of being ignorant due to lack of information and noticing that kind of disparity…. Not that I’m demanding answers, just stating my curiosity..

And I agree, as someone who got the DE I’ve found magic find makes a difference dispite what some people say, and that the serial code has little to nothing to do with what drops (in my case).

You didn’t make an investment. No one did.

I think you just showed how broad your understanding of the english language is.
To devote morally or psychologically, as to a purpose.

We bought a licence to their game that is still being developed, if they change the nature of the aspect of some areas of the game and people don’t like it, they changed what was bought, or advertised. It is their responability to listen in this regard or offer us our money back. We accept they can do what they want with their game, they should respect that we bought it for our sakes and not theirs.

TBH, I didn’t find your post useful becuase it isn’t really based in a reality we all understand…

If the industry wants to recognise Anets hard work, good for them. I payed some money for an experience, not so I could praise them and look past the flaws. If this game wants to be remembered fondly, it might want to scrutinise itself a bit more before handing us what they have done and asking us to accept it.

Shills, trolls and bronies, oh my…

No offense but the community is a little bit more diverse than just players and devs. And people thinking I or anyone else needs to earn their respect needs their head examined. Saying a woman has to earn your respect for them to be treated with dignity or considered an equal is down-right archaic, for example. And to trust something is to take somethings value (real or percived) to the exclusion of everything else, which never sounds all that smart to me…

If something is of concern to players and they need to mention it more than once with no response or creative discussion, I can see why things may not be repeated, but excalated with emotion and the feeling of not being understood.

If you want a more respectful place to be you might want to add some constructive advice on how to achieve that, rather than just pointing fingers at the forum. And if Anet wanted to add some guidelines as far as etiquette goes, we might see an improvement.

Gold being the be-all and end-all of a fantasy game is an utterly abysmal system. It is a fantasy game for God’s sake, people are sick to death of the controlling nature of money on life let alone in an escapist world. You constructed a world with the freedom to envision it as you liked and somehow you managed to make it as shackle snaring and mundane as real life.

QTF, well said.

It is a very good point. Given how gold in game isn’t really important to the world apart from a reward. All you can use it for is way-point costs, to repair armour, level crafting and buy off the trade post, it’s hard to see where currency actualy fits into this world at all. It’s not a “trade” post, it’s items for gold exchange. If it’s alright to inflate prices of items people already own in the world, those people should have to pay an up-keep cost relative to it’s new value.

There is no elephant in the room, and there is no pile-of-loot giving off smell. What we all must do is go back to playing the game, use the trade post and be happy you are even allowed to play games, somepeople can’t eat you know!

Honestly if you want to play in a way where you just see one or two small parts of the game to get what you want, great for you. What should the rest of us do? Oh, wait. You guys just think I don’t want to play, ah right… Or I want things given to me( well I woulden’t say no, they don’t actually exist, and have next to no meaning, but why would you care if anet just gave me a legendary because I wanted it that way, if you are happy farming for yours?).

At the end of the day people who drive up prices and keep loot beyond rare are simply exploiting people in the name of fun. Given how Anet normally would say this isn’t conducive to a healthy enviroment that people want to be appart of, it’s odd they have nothing to say when it’s one of their own encourageing this type of discussion and behaviour.

IF any of you want to go about fixing National debt one region at a time I’ll take everything I said back. But until that point your all just blowing hot air. Remember by exploiting people you aren’t exploiting the game, so I doubt you’ll get banned. So why not tell us the ins and outs of the economy and show a few charts based on actual game numbers of,: the amount of gold owned by single players and guilds, items cost to avalibility, item cost to single players/guilds hoarding, time spent to items/wealth, activities over an hour to a week that give the best retern on gold/loot… Tell us about your game that shows me that doing the same thing for little or no return is good for me or how I feel about this game. My money is on the fact that you can’t.

Again, for the hard of hearing, what stops the trade post from being fun is the fact that players are using it to exploite people who want to buy and sell using it. If this is okey by you just say so, but that is what is happening.

Dengeon leader-board?

Would probably look something like -

Arah Dungeon:
Fastest time 00:00:01.
Leader of group: Mr IdOnTh4x.

PvP leader board?
Top guild:- WE pwn nubs.
About the guild – We use exploits and hacks, pay off or threaten members of other guilds we face, in order to win. And in non-competitive spvp we go out of our way to ensure that others don’t stand a chance and feel like noobs by having at least 3 of our team members on each side. Anyone who talks about this will be ostrasised by the community.

PVe achivement for most node gatherings? Earning the title, I’m so much better than you it hurts. Mr IrunLotsObots.?

If you don’t find the game challenging what’s the point in competition, surly how competitve something is is considered by the skill it requires to enjoy such an activity, with or without players of varying skill level. Not the need to have a score board showing you can play in an untaural way so you can feel like you were just awarded a shiney star sticker for being a good boy..

If the internet was a relaxed place and wasn’t used as some kind of stick to poke people in the eye, I really woulden’t see a problem with it. But I am yet to see a leaderboard on-line that really means anything as far as the individuals are concerned, and never represent how good a player is at playing the game the way someone else would, let alone the relivance of titles or “achivements”, making it kinda pointless..

Who killed the most Moa’s in wvw last Tuesday? Who really cares? But if you want a grand title for one of your characters, feel free to use MoaSlayer at the start, end or middle of your name.

Infact I might go make a warrior called “Greatest PVPer” and create a guild called MoaSlayers, so I can expect to be abandoned by my team and targeted by the other, on mass… If that’s not competition, I don’t know what is..

Sorry if this wasn’t helpful..

I think the thing that could be missing from this topic is empathy.

One side says, “Why is there content that requires me to grind in order to advance my look?”.

The other syays, “Why does it matter?”

All the second group does is dismiss the first, telling them they are wrong and they want an “easy” game with no challenge. While distracting from the topic of how rare items are rare to most of us, and the resentment of allowing people to corrupt the game world futher with that kind of attitude isn’t what we want to do as part of the game we are playing.

On the one hand, there is no justification I have seen that this constant abitrary and simantic argument does anything other than show how one sided, when it comes to thinking and putting their point across, these kinds of topics are.

I am not going out to kill the same 4-8 single mobs on a regular basis because they drop candy every few days (read months if you don’t go out of your way to bore yourself with someone elses “good” idea..). And asking why it is this way, and stating that we think it’s essentialy stupid/thick, is only met with, “well you know we don’t care, and that’s the way it is.”

You are all telling me that I should spend my time doing something utterly pointless and obviously stupid in order to use a skin on a weapon that should drop in the open world with attached lore.

There is no reason, for me, that this, how it is, is a good thing. It doesn’t show anything appart from how much time I dedicate to playing this game in a manner that no-one respects enough to talk about openly or honestly.

On the plus side, none of this really matters. I don’t need a new skin to invest more emotions in. I’ll find something else to do when I get utterly sick of the trolling community and dumb-as-mud game development choices.

A disscusion is an exchange of ideas where both partys are being constructive, considered equal and both have a common ground/understand each other and the topic enough for there actualy to be any kind of progress of ideas or futher understanding.

Telling me I’m wrong when I say this game is stupid at it’s core, is not the way to get me to see the game another way. As far as I can see it, alot of you don’t want to talk about the topic, and just seek to make the disscussion contrived and irrelivant so hopefuly people won’t notice, or better yet become confused at the compleat lack of thought or understanding demonstraighted, not just in this thread, but anywhere people try to discuss this or other things people with working brains want to discuss.

Guild Wars 2, Tololololoolo heaven or a game worth playing? Apparently it’s both…Yay..

Sorry, just to add to what I said earlier, since GW1 has been brought up.

An Icy Dragon Sword was a world drop that supposedly only droped in one place. When I heard about it when it was introduced, I went there to find groups of warriors running to the imps and needing about 4 of them. After going out a couple of times with pugs I decided to try and solo the area. My reward the first time one droped was another, and as a max level player it didn’t take close to a few hunded hours of gameplay to feel like I created a challenge for my self, and achived something that ment more to me than “35k(GWc)”.

The same can be said for beating the old/new hall of heros and reciving one of those weapons like a Victos axe/shield.

But when I heard about chaos gloves, I kinda laughed under my breath at what the game had become.

In GW2 the world weapon drops at an exotic level hardly ever happen in my experience, and the homage weapons are geared towards the chaos glove end of the market rather than the “I just soloed a Wings Axe my first time out in this zone, when I got futher than the first mob…”.

I can imagin in an up-comming expansion we can hope to see the ability to lend other people money and charge lots of intrest? I’m sure those who are already above the curve would love to see this added..

To point out something about “manipulation” in the lodestone market. Let’s say that someone managed to buy all the corrupted lodestones and then put up 5 on the TP for 100 gold. What do you think would happen?

People would go farm lodestones, undercut the person who bought them all, and that person would lose a fortune. The true price of an item is the price where the forces of people wanting to buy it and people being sufficiently motivated to go and get it to sell it are balanced. Anytime the price deviates too much from this, it will move back. And like a rubber band, it will move back faster the further it is from this price.

If someone buys all of something and sells it at a higher price, and if the price stay high, that means the item was undervalued to begin with.

Dispite your disposition I doubt you would go running out to buy “Fantasy Wall Street Trader On-line” if it was full of people who thought similarly to you.

This is the rub. Lodestones, as most of us know, are bloody rare. If an item is valued and rare and someone buys up what is being sold and consistantly buys people out without renewing the supply on the trade post, only collecting them, while mantaining higher buy orders they artificially create a false value. If you don’t care if you are making money back and just want what you have to seem more exclusive or desirable at the expense of others, your point is mute.

The community can seem a bit schizophrenic at times when talking about trading, some times it’s so easy to make gold, and other times it’s a secret… But always justifying themselves. Ironicaly all this does is lessen things value in other peoples eyes.

I would also like to say I’d prefer an NPC trader than all the BS that’s come along with the tp. The economist might be alright with the idea of moving goal posts, Anet might see it as a long term stratagy, but knowing I’m makeing some wheezle feel good about him-self for kittening up what would otherwise be, if used in the proper manner, something of convinience, just seems wrong.

Gold value of Corrupt lodestones last time I looked was 1G70, value to me at that point, 0. Anet doesn’t get to use it’s gold sink, and you don’t get my gold, and the world has less variety. But I was kind of hoping to have a fiery and icy dragon sword to duel wield while in LA… (Can’t wait to see what that looks like. If someone could post a screenie… ) No great loss though, the equipment that I have works…
