“Also lets be reasonable if you have an ability that lets something exist that otherwise wouldn’t then only one can exist per character at a time. (ex. Shadow Refuge, Sanctuary, Conjured Frost Bow, ect.)”
Spectral Walls would fall into that category… as well as Shadow Refuge… ^^;;;
Also since the spots between Heals & Elites are not weapon skills the fact that Thieves have no CD on theirs is irrelevant.
(edited by Dendail.4896)
Irrelevant This isn’t a wish list or a suggestion. I am just curious as to what this would do to you and your class.
Keep in mind Main Heals are off the list
So it’ll be the abilities between the Heal & Elites ^^
Hiya all!
I was just thinking what if skills didn’t have a cooldown. Minus weapon abilities, main heals & elite skills what would not having any cooldowns do for your class?
I main a Thief so we would have a lot of mobility in the form of teleports and blinds & stealth would be much more readily available.
Venoms would very likely see some light for one especially with venom sharing & I think Shadow Refuge with be an incredible boon in team PvP situations.
So again what would not having cooldowns do for your class? Also lets be reasonable if you have an ability that lets something exist that otherwise wouldn’t then only one can exist per character at a time. (ex. Shadow Refuge, Sanctuary, Conjured Frost Bow, ect.)
Hm without seeing exactly what they wrote it is hard to have an opinion. Depending on how it is implemented the nerf could be good or harmful.
An example of a bad nerf would be adding more Tequatl like bosses that are unaffected by crit. Uninteresting and its a straight nerf for little reason.
A good nerf would be to have a boss that is slightly slow but hits hard… standing by this guy nuking him down when you are his focus will use up your evades and see you on the floor. How is this a good nerf you ask? Simple… That berserker player is kind of the tank… or kiter would be the better term. He is the one who needs to be smart when it comes to keeping up the damage/holding the boss & surviving while doing so.
What about his teammates? Well more options are open now as having everyone being a berserker might just cause the boss to constantly swap targets and kill too quickly. Berserker then might not be the ideal set any longer for everyone to have and the need to mix it up becomes apparent.
Obviously I am just scratching the surface but at least in my opinion if they’re going to nerf it at all they should nerf it in an intelligent way.
Sooo what are you going to do about WvW?
Man, if we’re going to be offering suggestions that are shorted-sighted why don’t we suggest that Anet run GW2 off Cryengine or something absurd
So what about WvW? Would need a bit of an overhaul on how this would be setup. Perhaps have everyone’s server be changed to their “team”. Technically almost nothing would need to be changed here. Guesting would be a largely useless function as we could simply use the current feature of right clicking your party member’s name & switching to their “overflow”. Instead of Server Transfers in which ANet makes money on they could simply change it to Team Change.
Er… Did you not read my post? Or did you not like the suggestion about WvW? Not so sure what is short sighted since nothing actually changes when it comes to WvW but if there is something you find inherently wrong with that particular point then I wouldn’t mind a counter suggestion.
And honestly I don’t understand why you needed to be so rude about it.
I think you guys may be misreading what I wrote. In no way am I suggesting that thousands of players will be in one zone at any given time.
The system for this exists now & is in use as we speak. Assuming we’re using 100 players as a limit then around 80ish players (soft cap) the game would create a new overflow and that overflow would be filled. This would prevent the issues we currently have where either zones are empty cause it is possible atm to have low population main servers or you would have an unlucky chance of being thrown into an empty overflow should you be in a high pop server/zone.
This suggestion simply means that players would almost guaranteed to be in a mid population or higher server regardless of where they go.
The server system needs to go imo. There is a problem when so many players have to guest to other servers because (a) Their own server is too small or barren to successfully complete events/open dungeons ect. or (b) The server is too large or has become a hotspot for guesting causing world bosses to melt in seconds or forces natives into overflows.
I know the servers are separated for the sole purpose of WvW but there needs to be another way. I would much rather see endless versions of zones (current overflow system) without a main server than to see this atrocity. There are many pros to this as well.
1. Zones will no longer be empty. Timberline Falls untouched on your server… Divinity’s Reach an oddly empty city? Unlikely to happen again as all of the original server’s population would be filling these zones. You’ll more likely see a few copies of a full bustling Divinity’s Reach than a dozen empty ones.
2. Help would be more readily available. For those who were here during the first few weeks of Guild Wars 2 (bugs aside) they were more likely their best times. Pretty sure we’ll never see those times again but I think with this setup it would be much closer.
So what about WvW? Would need a bit of an overhaul on how this would be setup. Perhaps have everyone’s server be changed to their “team”. Technically almost nothing would need to be changed here. What does everyone else think of this?
Mystery solved! My gift giver came out & revealed herself!
Aw… I have a simple request. I was sent a gift today but since it was titled Black Lion Trading Company I thought it was a present from ANet and took the gift without realizing that it was a player that sent me the gift. Is there a way for me to find out who gifted them to me? Or at the very least if a member of ANet could quickly check my mail history & inform me of the name?
The gift was Wintersday Mini 3-Pack.
The date I am pretty sure was Christmas Day.
Much appreciated if this is possible.
They had a notice of 6 days on the TP that is was going away & had the timer since. I’m sorry you guys missed it but the notice was there.
You can post it but it isn’t possible to find on the TP if you’re looking to buy it.
Nothing misleading about it… It does exactly what its meant to… Expands the capacity of your Collections hence the name Collection Expander.
First thing I would do is get the yellow crystals & some under level 80 gear to play around with so you learn how it works… Its really easy but you really should be familar with it before using it on Gem items.
A long way from her old look earlier in the thread but here she is again.
Helm: Assassin’s Mask
Chest: Flamewalker Coat
Shoulders: Flamewalker Shoulderpads
Gloves: Toxic Armguards
Legs: Vigil Leggings
Boots: Ascalonian Leather Boots

Oops totally missed this topic… >.< Ah well I’ll repost here then.

Hey there all… Idk if anyone has mentioned this and if so my apologies but… Why not a whole new set of finishers for the PvP Ladder?
Keep the Rank/Finisher progression as is now (unless ANet feels like amount required needs to be adjusted) and add brand new Finishers/Rewards for the Ladder players… The people who have been working their butts off grinding the ranks trying to achieve the ones they want will not be screwed over and the top % players in skill will have their special unique finishers.
I say this because these finishers have been in the game for over a year now and a lot of people made those finishers their goal & worked towards them. Do not cut them off ANet… just make new ones for your Ladder PvP and I think that would make everyone happy.

Eliminate the downed state imo. Theres nothing heroic or epic about dying & rallying over & over again in zergs which is most of WvW & the times where rallying is fun is too few & far in between. I see it as a hindrance to the game rather than a benefit.
Hello all! I just wanted to discuss something I see as a major flaw in this game… All the waiting that is required just to even play.
If you wish to do a boss you need to wait for their timers. One of the worst offenders is Tequatl. It is not uncommon for it to be a two hour wait to fight & down Tequatl. Overflows that have Tequatl killing guilds on them fill up so quickly that you need to secure a spot an hour before hand. Now you could say this is not Arenanet’s fault and you would be right but there is an hour window to Tequatl and that window isn’t even up until at least 40 minutes after his event.
A few dungeons are locked behind events that must be cleared in order to enter. You can complete the event but it is still a time waster you are forced through. There is the guesting option thankfully but at the time of this writing there is two whole servers that has CoF open. There are times where certain dungeons are in fact closed on all servers.
WvW… who has never hit a que for this that actually WvW? This is self explanatory but understandable to an extent but then there is more waiting times within WvW. Took back that tower from the enemy that just ninja’d it? Theres a timer on it. Dozens of players now sit there waiting for the timer. Yes you could leave but then you lose out on the rewards. I do understand it is so you can’t intentionally flip keeps, towers, etc for easy rewards but there should be another method to this.
There are many artificial waiting times in this game that makes it so… you can’t play or at least do what you wish to do if I were to be more specific. Anet while there are quite of few hiccups that could be fixed I enjoy playing this game I really do but I only have a couple of hours to play a day and well… I just want to be allowed to play. Please?
That could be plausible but I guess if that is the case we should be expecting more Torment & Toxin Spray(?) in the future. Torment I don’t actually mind since its cleansable by abilities that cleanse but that other condition is ridiculous that it’s only counter is a so-so heal that takes up a heal slot.
I think this is why they gave us the Antitoxin Spray as a healing skill, so they can throw torment at us all the time.
Ugh I was so disappointed in this skill… I decided to test it out & the CD is simply too long for what it does. The conditions are reapplied too rapidly. When I was testing it against the new PvE Condition Toxin Spray(?) I was usually left looking at a CD & a condition that was going to kill me since it is immune to every removal in the game except the new heal ability…
Yeah, they didn’t really think it through. Adding another condition when they can’t even address the current issues with conditions in pve.
it wasn’t added, it’s always been there it’s just been rare (thief and I think necro have had always)
No it was added some time ago but it wasn’t always there. I want to say roughly 6 months ago Torment was added to the game but it mightn’t even been that long.
Has anyone ran numbers on these two runes for WvW purposes? I can see how Torment would be very effective but is the burst with Fire more effective? I know it is highly build dependent if they are close but if someone already figured out a clear winner I am interested which one it might be. Thank you.
Just a warning when clicking on the Thief part of the calculator it brought me to an unsafe site. Tried it again & it worked but I wouldn’t recommend that site.
(edited by Dendail.4896)
Hm? Is this some non official thing or does ANet actually have official sites for servers?
:( Aw really? They should have server dedicated forums…
I already run with TTS but while you guys are a great & dedicated guild not everyone in my guild is able to spend over an hour waiting around to kill Tequatl due to real life reasons. Since I run with you guys I know for a fact that your multiple overflows fill very quickly and would be nearly impossible for a large group to all get into the same overflow to do Tequatl together.
For some the main enjoyment is not just the kill itself but to play & defeat content with their guildmates and friends. But I thank you for the offer.
It’s the Living World Achievement so those that take part in the living world would most likely come across the key parts needed for this daily.
They do not drop often. If exploring is the dailies intent, it does not work. Because the key parts are too cheap on the TP.
No they drop at a fair rate in the Aetherblade path in TA.. The path happens to be the current Living Story so it is currently a highly treaded path. Players run the path, get their pieces and viola daily achievement… assuming it wasn’t bugged.
The dailies are part of activities that most people do simply playing the game and the Living Story is one of those common activities.
Play your own way as long as it’s the Living Story.
Ignorant much? How is this any different from the WvW dailies? Gathering? What about when the dungeon/fractals ones when they come up? Grow up.

Hello Yak’s Bend! ^^
I was wondering if there is any guild that is interested in grouping up to slay Tequatl on Yak’s Bend? I know there are many here who has yet to slay Tequatl on account that their time is valuable and cannot spend their time waiting in a specific overflow to get the kill. Also I am sure many of you can agree that it is more exciting to kill Tequatl with friends and guildmates and many are often put off by the hurdle of squeezing into the same overflow.
If you are a Yak’s Bend guild interested in killing Tequatl even if it is only once or twice a week our guilds could meet up then feel free to send me a tell in game or send me a letter! I look forward to hearing from you! ^^
I rather you could buy the specific dye that way both parties win. I think more people would buy the dyes & Anet still gets it’s support.
EDIT: Referring to the Gem Store dyes of course.
(edited by Dendail.4896)
I normally just buy the dye I want from the TP cause I don’t enjoy the RNG either but I am being realistic if they release Halloween dyes it’ll be on the Gem Store. I am just hoping they add a new Orange to augment my look. I’ll be quite happy with my character’s look once I get that and the medium ascended chestpiece skin.
Anyone have any information on possible gem store dyes that might’ve been datamined? Really hoping for a nice orange color with quality on par as the other gem store dyes from the Halloween event or something.
Hm… I’ll probably get flak for this but I am pretty sure this is NOT intended. The Acolyte phase where you need to kill all the Acolytes & free the Charr you can go into an adjacent room & glitch them into resetting all the mobs. Really? How is this not an exploit? It’s not even hard to kite the mobs around while picking off Acolytes but people exploit this fight anyways. Even worse it can be done every time you need to wait for Acolytes to respawn… Please fix this!
I guess I should add that I play a Human Female which does kind of give me an advantage in having nice armor. <.<
I actually liked my ascended weapons… <.< even going as far to make copies so I can skin my Zojja’s stats to Occam’s Skin…
they only look really bad if you use the whole set – there are some pretty nice individual pieces in there.
Im a Thief and I actually like the chest & legs so I will be going for those first. I don’t like the boots, shoulders, & helm though. Like the gloves but I like my Hellfire ones better.
I like some of light pieces but only like the heavy gloves. I think it is a matter of opinion.
Hm if thats true then it wasn’t for the Teq event stuff cause my server isn’t a Beta server.
Shes not on a private server guys. When the new achievements came up Dulfy was there on a live server gathering all the information. We were all on Map Channel spreading out and finding all the teeth, claws, ect.
That is how she gets her information so quickly cause dozens of people are doing it & feeding the information to everyone else & then she takes that information & makes them into guides for the rest of the GW2 population who wants to use them.
Hey guys I am not to familiar with Engineers but I did like using the flamethrower a lot against Jormag and was wondering if there is any good flamethrower builds I could use?
More importantly are Flamethrower Engineers an effective playstyle compared to grenades, turrets, or any other builds I may not be familiar with?
Remove the turrets & grandfather the achievements related to those. Replace them with weapon versions with adjusted cooldowns like in Jormag.
Maaaaaybe reduce health/defense for phase one. I would rather see how the weapon idea would pan out before doing anything else.
EDIT: Uh duh big one – afk time limits like you see in activities. Sorry all you defeated players but you’re risking 2-3 more player deaths & precious time because you are too lazy to run back.
(edited by Dendail.4896)
My guild & I were discussing the Tequatl raid and while most of us enjoy the fight there is one thing we all seem to agree on. Relying on six random people not to fail you isn’t fun. However one of my guildmates made an offhand remark that I believe is actually a really good suggestion.
Remove the turrets and replace them with weapons like in Jormag. Have the weapons have the same functionality as what the turrets have now although the cooldowns might have to be adjusted with the knowledge that there will be more than six.
As for the existing achievements involving the turrets I would suggest replacing them & grandfather those who have completed them. I believe this would go a long way in keeping the fight challenging, enjoyable, and it removes the most glaring flaw to this encounter.
it’s a wave
a wave of tears from the spam 1 world boss farmers
What do you think it took BG to zerg down Teq? Sitting in 1 spot using all your damage skills over and over while the turrets buff you till each of the 25%, 50%, 75% phases pop up? Anyone who thinks this is much different is blind.
Very true.
There is more to it obviously. Those people have to know to dodge out of the way of the waves, and not stick too long in a poison puddle. And the groups on turrets need to be well coordinated to keep up those buffs and poison removals.
But after that, it’s basically just boss DPS 101. Stack and spam attacks.
Watching the BG video, most of their DPS people DID’NT dodge the waves and stayed in the poison and went down multiple times. It was actually kinda sad that basically all it took to defeat him was 100+ people standing as close together as possible, and 6 competent people on the turrets that knew to hit Teq with 2 every time it was up and to cleanse/buff the zergball as much as possible. Oh and a few people to kill the risen around the turrets.
What they should do instead of “nerfing” Teq, is to cut his health by 1/2, make him do his Wave about twice as much in the first phase, increase the poison, whirlpools. Double/triple the amount of risen going after the turrets. Keep the defending of the megalazer and such(I really like how they added a new dimension to the boss fight). Basically what I’m saying is to increase the rate of his normal attacks making it harder to just stand and DPS him, while also decreasing his health to make it reasonable to be able to kill him while dodging/rezzing/killing risen.
Edit: Added my ideas on how to make this a fun fight, not a DPS check.
Admittedly I haven’t seen the video but that does sound like it would make the fight funner. Just need to make sure the health pool isn’t nerfed to easy mode if most of the zerg are competent dodgers. Still needs the challenge & chance of failing.
I don’t like the idea of the timer being removed then it pretty much becomes unfailable unless they add new gimmicks to trigger fails.
