Apparently megaserver grouping was hard coded with server population ages ago rather than actively update. Populated servers will have no issues. However, even with megaserver servers with low population always have maps under populated. ANet should have delicates people to oversee player QoL including LFG, Megaserver, event gating, etc.
I prefer the devs to spend time on creating new maps and contents instead of updating the existing ones.
It’s time for performance appraisal, promotion and pay raise. No one will really work until those settle down.
S1 is doable if ANet allows time travel through story jounral and players don’t mind another taxi wars with lfg.
I suspect there will be boat as weapon in DSD expansion. Mounts for ground movement is unlike unless ANet decide to allow PC sit on chairs.
BDO does not have separated PvE and PvP zones but implemented wanted system for the first attackers which increase loot dropped after defeated and mobs aggression toward PK.
Both BDO and GW2 are under NCSoft, it might be good for ANet to bring features from the other shore.
It appears to me the guesting system in BDO is more appealing in term of story telling and respecting player time. In GW2 every player have same level of relationship with npc. In BDO, the more you do guest from an npc, you unlock more from him/her in trading, crafting and farming. You also know more about the npc. In term of player time, You can select an area and finish several in the quest log. In contrast, dynamic event force you look at the timer or wandering around while hoping someone announce an event in map chat.
The limiting factor is the power supply. I overclock the gpu on my three years old MacBook Pro for gw2 under Windows 8.1. However, the 85w power supply will throttle down when too many things happening on the screen. Another issue is heat. Recently I got motherboard replacement under Apple Care.
Action camera seems to be what you ask for. Go to option and set your key blind to toggle Action camera on/off.
Skill rotation: similar to skill combo in arcade fighting game in which press the keys in certain sequences give you extra benefits or effects.
Min max: minimum efforts/time maximum returns.
As a defensive skill, you can use SW#5 in at least three different purposes.
1. Take the mob out of AoE and continue the combat.
2. Interrupt
3. Disengage as ‘Phase retreat’ in Mesmer or ‘Burning retreat’ in Elementalist
To me axe is more for offensive and CC purposes.
Would DX12 improve game sales?
No?Why would they do it then?
Good point. But what if ANet want to expand the audience and port GW2 to Xbox One which now suppose a Windows 10 machine?
From a narrative perspective it is easier to have someone give PC orders to do with reasons behind. HoT story is kinda disjointed or jumping around probably because PC is the one giving out orders.
Imagine that 50 players are directly connecting to your PC with mouses and keyboards instead through the server. Players inputs and animation are done by CPU. How DX12 can improve this performance? There is a massive data table of players and mobs need to be constantly updated. Each data records are updated in real time through record locking and unlocking. Even if they are multi thread safe, mostly like a lot them are waiting for full access of the affected players and mobs records.
Recently I roll back from Windows 10 to 8.1. The performance and stability are much better off. Unless running on the latest hardware, DX12 won’t be truly optimized.
If game play first and story second principle holds true, Jormag will be the next dragon for players to deal with. Players hate underwater combat and found underground tangled depth map confusing. Instead, players enjoy gliding a lot. To explore the game play or even combat elements around gliding in the mountain range is a logical conclusion.
If you want to do the cultural armor achievement and collection.
Pact is the reason why five nations not act together to deal with elder dragons as concluded in Pale Tree summit. With Pact gone and many members of destiny edge are out of mission, forming a new army among the nations could be the new drama of the story.
From a story telling perspective, if PC becomes the new leader, there will be very little room for character development in the future.
I believe they hard code the character hero panel one for each game mode. That is why we can only save one build in each of them.
Even summarizing complaints take up time because they need to verify those are new or outstanding bugs. People thinking complain more will get more attention. But in fact their is a bug list with resources requirement and priority status to work with. They also need to test the solutions and identify any unintended consequences. All take time.
If you enjoy your Necro, you might consider to keep your choice within light armor class because you can share your ascended or even legendary armors among your toons.
The collection items and items for MF recipe do take up a lot space. I am glad I got my personal guild bank upgraded before Guild Hall introduction.
The system will never know who are players would run the events, afk, exploring, farming, etc. Might be ANet should hire a few part time to manually organize players to run the HoT maps. If those individuals succeed, ANet might be able to automate their processes.
Sigil of speed on one spear for roaming and another one for extra dps when needed.
With the current map cap, the high content density map design in HoT creates conflicts among players who run the meta events with those doing something else. The later ones might also scaling up the events as they share the same spots with those committed to the event chains. The time gated and time sink aspects of new design make the matter even more worse. Even I enjoy the difficulty in HoT maps, I hope ANet learn their lesson that one size fit all is not a good design at all.
Rev is easy to pick up, difficult to master. My Rev with rare armor doing very well in VB and AB. But I ran mine in the core game for a while before I took him to the jungle. Rev offer skill combo and attunements switching playstyle of ele with the high mobility of Mesmer. I also change my build a lot to suit different encounters.
You can exchange your loots with other players through trading post. Get the best gears whenever you could make life easier. Meanwhile you can also salvage the loots or farm raw materials to craft your own gears. If eventually if you want to get the highest tier gears, you need to level up your crafting discipline anyway.
One of favor game is Shadow of the Colossus. Imagine a piece of uncharted land on Tyria occupied by different champions.
Shift meta event participation to daily achievement. As long as a player finished a whole cycle, it does matter s/he start at which stage should get the best reward.
HoT maps are dungeons by design with after thought open world elements.
Stop setting participation to 0% on map close

HoT maps kinda like open world dungeon; it is linear even with different paths or lanes. And once you left, you lose everything if you cannot return to the same instance.
I suspect ANet testing player acceptance of pre-made characters with Rev. Instead of give us build template down the road, they might give us a few pre-made characters from metabattle.com.
If you watch the latest guild chat stream they seemed to imply their underlying design principle “gameplay first and lore second”.
In GW1 there are quest line tell us how to earn our profession skills. In GW2, they never tell us how our characters how to learn and master our profession. They just magically unlock as we do things in the world.

You might take a look at metabattle.com.
I prefer to read the combat section on official wiki before trying build for a specific class.
I suspect they hard coded how the mega server system works using data from core maps rather than real time update based HoT zones. This lead to empty maps in the new areas.
If the time sink aspect is the main design decision in the maps, they should allow players to choose queuing for a full map or go straight to an overflow like instances.
If you are lvl 80 you might consider getting rune set of privateer or ogre. Both give you a pet after hit. In PvE those pets can help you to manage mobs argo while get room for recovering.
Switching attunements and make it for your advantage are the basic of playing elementalist.
You might want to look for ele WvW roaming video to learn from other players.
ANet outsourced the trailer production to other firm. If you watched the twichcon video, the creative director talked about how pleased they were on the visuals in the trailer even the production firm never the saw the real elder dragon in game. So they are not closely related or hinting major thing in game.
Growth and aging are big topics in developmental psychology. Content like Raid not only create room for skill development, but also psychosocial aspects as organized group contents.
XP seems to be the best proxy measures of play time at the moments. Otherwise afk could create a lot empty maps.
Might be it help memory leak issues.
Why we are dealing with elder dragon one at a time? What if two elder dragons fight each other and all races caught between them meanwhile hidden forces taking advantage of this?
When you explore the map, pay attention to any nearby ongoing events. Meta event chains are the signature feature of GW2 to get players working together achieve different goals in specific map. They are not quests given by NPCs. The UI will notify you when an active one is near your current location. End game area Orr and HoT maps are basically built upon meta event chains.
I play Rev a lot lately. High dps, mobility and strong support with Herald.
People running events in HoT maps also complaint about empty maps. Meanwhile players complaint can’t get into a group for raid. Maybe many turn to BF, FO4, HL5, …
Or you might run a different build to support the NPCs instead of dps yourself. You can also bring consumable which give you pets and turrets.
If my memory is correct, I ran a GS power build for this one. But I guess PU should work well.
Yes. I use a lot of skill combo of life steal and blind to survive.
No. Actually PC is the main villain because s/he killed off all elder dragons and bring chaos to Tyria. Glint’s egg help the remaining survivors to build the new world and it brings us GW3.
How about the game allows players to choose their status and the meta server system group players accordingly? The choice of status could be:
- Story mission
- Meta events
- Raid
- Exploration
But if players forget to update their status, the system will put players into the wrong map. There are also a chance players abuse the system in order to get into a full map.
