I’m for one really want to hear what the devs are thinking about this issue.
From my experience the developers only answers for things that they want to answer, and I do believe @Josh or @Roy already read this thread and the many others the processed this one and simply do not have a good enough answer to give.
So this is only a small attempt to act like there is a chance for a real communication here at GW2, frankly I’ll be very surprise if this thread will turn red.
Fands hands is powerfull trait. Incredible powerfull with some swap sigils. That + strong warrior thoughness, hp, invul, stability etc = real powerfull. Not to be rude but making that baseline +20 extra traits points to spend and spend all the 90 in another line then you should (discipline for fast hands) would make a 110 traits strong builds.
Everyone who thinks Illusionary persona is even partly as good as fast hands is totally mistaken. Also it’s a superior strong melee<>range switche. 10 seconds in most fights is to long to stay in melee or range. If it happens you are locked 3-7 secs to long in one of them. With fast hands this next to never happens. You can switch like a dancer. That alone makes it incredible value, let alone the swap sigil advantage. Sure engie gets also fast swap BUT only has 1 weapon (same as engie). Warrior is only prof that can abuse 4 sigils but super fast weapon swap. That alone uniqueness + other warrior advantages would simply make it overpowered.
If this trait is so powerfull to you just take it. It’s minor for god sake! Doesn’t even remove your choices! But don’t expect this superior powerfull minor AND 90 points to spend in completely different trees. That would mean you basically only miss 1 trait line… of the 5. To powerfull. You want an over the top of the line build, but you know it’s op, you still wish it. Just don’t
If anything, this is good for you guys cause it warrants less 50% nerfs.

You do know many players will choose this trait line anyway, so it’s ‘like’ they actually do have 90 points to spent freely. So you are basically saying that all of those warrior are too OP? that’s sit perfectly with why warrior only viable build is the dumb support role of shoutbow.
No one wants over the top nothing, we just want valid build options, with all the hump and bumps eles, engies and mesmers going about I am very doubtful that warrior could be anything else but that boring shoutbow.

Can you please explain why the trait ‘Fast Hand’(reduce weapon swap to 5sec) is not baseline?
I think I speak for everyone on this forum or even all warrior players by saying that we would really appreciate a developers response on this matter.
How is the most defining skill for the warrior profession is not baseline? thus forcing every viable build to take the Discipline trait line and limiting the class build diversity.
How come it is less ‘baseline’ then Mesmer’s ‘Illusionary Persona’ (“Using any shatter skill now creates the shatter effect on you as well”) which was only necessary for shatter builds while they also have clone builds and phantasm builds?

Without LB warrior will have no place in sPVP, coz all the cheese build will be gone and he will be left with just zerker. Then Anet will have to make zerker warrior (the fun part about playin a warrior class) viable and make balanced and beneficial traits that works for all weapons and not just with LB.

There might be only 2 things that can realy change the way warrior plays:
1.Teleports
2.Fast firing ranged weapon (so you could pressure those pesky kiters back)
As there is no chance for teleports pistol is the only hope

Unarmed could be real cool – just give warrior 5 skills +burst when no weapon is equipped (or only OH or MH) but where would you put the sigils?
On SPVP the sigils are separated from the weapons so it can work, but in PVE/wvw it is not.

The ideas about the Reaver – dmg to self while damaging others was tried a bit on necro, but I think they dropped it so it might come back as the warrior role

I think you are right, thief is the most lacking party buffer so they would probably need to fill that role.
Other guess are less likely as Assassin is already what teef is and anything more scout is just ranger.
New class mechanic might be ‘gift’ (opposite of steal) : teleport to a friend and give them some boons or something.

Weapon is melee staff as many here speculates, and the skill type will be mantras.
I can see how it may look as if it is overlapping the guardian role as a religious healer knight, so I am hoping it will be less healing and more beating up people with calm

venoms – please don’t, too simple and boring
survival – which could be anything so ok
traps – but they gave them to guards so guess not
gadgets – which might have nice utily but i hate all that steam punk crap so hope not either

Having the adrenaline on hit be baseline would make any other adrenaline gaining trait/skill useless in PvP

There’s no doubting that most warrior builds use fast hands; however, making it baseline would be completely broken and not make any sense. Warriors weapon swapping uses the same mechanic as other professions. Making it faster ‘just cause’ wouldn’t make sense.
Wrong again. every warrior build ever uses fast hand, otherwise just play a guard or ranger, it IS Class defining. I promise you still won’t see builds without it, so this just kitten our build diversity.
Fast Hands is the reason warrior is warrior – a must base line no doubt, I really hope they will do it right this time.
As for Warrior Sprint I feel its is good and strong, but not as class defining, as warrior have a lot of access to swiftness, and there are some builds where run speed is less of an issue.
What we really must have as base is the ‘get adrenaline from hit’ from Cleansing Ire.
I saw this being mentioned somewhere else and I feel we must raise a voice about this one. Those 2 benefits from 1 trait are too much anyhow, and with out it adrenaline comes really slow (vs single target).
If they are making even more ways to utilize adrenaline they cannot make gaining it so dependent on one specific trait.

What really kills rifle for me is actually the auto attack.
It’s damage is OKish but it is just sooooo slow
Trying to hit anything that knows how to move usually ends in missing, so hitting thing like S/D thief becomes impossible, and you end up never using it at all.
I would gladly trade half dmg for half cast time for this skill, the procs from air/fire are what doing most dmg anyway
Well you can see polearm in the trailer so that one is a sure bet
(all those "pls pls 2-handed axe’ posts ring a bell?)
I just wish they will add another range option (like pistol main hand) so we won’t have to take that LB anywhere we go (rifle who?)

Yes GS/Hammer is not ideal for PVP but it can still be fun, but not on such a bad build.
This whole build based around landing earthshaker, it has no dmg without it, and many enemies just won’t let you do it, at least not without some set up – which it has none: bull’s charge, pin down, bolas, leg specialist…
There is also no granted Condi removal – if you dont land earthshaker – you will found out that those 26K HP can burn/bleed/torment down faster then u think.

This is not the same Arenanet from GW1. They are entirely different people. I also believe that after they launched the game, loads of the people working there left.
i.e. no dungeon team, etc. Like, they probably did what just about all game makers do. Just hire people to help build the game, then downsize because maintenance requires less people so they can profit more. We won’t ever know for sure but….
It would explain why there’s very very few bug fixes ever. I guess all you can really do is just… not expect anything. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment. :/
Anyways, I agree with you. The fact that we can’t reliably use our movement skills anymore is depressing / frustrating. Even if you don’t use them with a target selected, there’s a high chance of turning around mid-air and/or teleporting backwards. So bad.

And don’t even think about GW3 there is no one left who can even fix/understand the current game, how do u think they will ever build a new game?

(I do the fix is so all the skills will work even when not CC too, otherwise the trait is worthless)

IMO a 10% more dmg is so much better then that very mayb on time defy pain, it’s a GS build, if ur r ganked u just run.
But even if u feel u need this trait then go 5/6/0/3
A 10% on bleeding, which is always, is better then 3% per boon. very few will have 3+ boons for a long time. And +50 to precision and cond dmg is better then 50 ferocity.

Would you mind sharing this build? The various bow builds aren’t really doing it for me, so I’m still looking to find a fun niche build I can use on Warrior. (I only ever play Hotjoin, so it doesn’t need to be a super meta build.

It’s a gimmick build anyhow that won’t carry you in 1v1
Yeah I tried ^ (to use for my advantage)
with traited shout + balance stance you looking at 4.5 * 8sec = 36sec per minute of +1000 toughness.
It’s like having protection up for half the time, that’s A LOT.
But as it is it’s just plain kitten, would not even take it as a minor triat.
With all the other stun break skill:

One more thing – ‘signet of might’

Yeah that build was strong pre patch, spaciously vs squishes but also strong against warrior, although hambow/axebow should’ve won the fight.
Now they got buffed and we got nerffed so…
Anyhow you won’t win with just brute force, hambow or axebow was winning the fight mostly coz of the condi dmg. The med guard got some cleanses but not enough.
So a full condi rabid is like the direct counter, but if you wan’t a real build then mayb try going hybrid.
Oh and best advice I can give is: take ‘Sigil of generosity’
They do some blinds, immob and vulnerability but the longest and (most dmg ofcourse) is the burning, so good chances this is the condi you will send back to them.
So less burn on you, more on them

Rousing resil, lung capacity, shrug it off.
every 28 seconds you proc shake it off. This in combination with shake it off act as inependent stun breakers that grant 1000 toughness for 8 seconds every 28 seconds passively, and with balanced stance/shake it off every 16 seconds in rotation.
With soldier runes+berserker amulet GS still cleaves 2.5K/100b for 7.5k work perfect hammer by dropping cleansing ire (which you don’t need with 3 forms of condi removal)
Entirely viable. Super strong.
- Does ‘Rousing resil’ activate on every stun beak? regardless of actually breaking a stun?
(From what you write it seems like it does but I nvr tested it)
- Does ‘Shrug it off’ is effected by ‘lung capacity’? well of course it should be, by I don’t think they connected them. So y 28sec? its has 30se CD or 24sec if effected by reduction.
Anyhow can you post the whole build? is it hammer + GS?

The celest axebow build was along with hambow our best tpvp build, pre patch.
It took a big hit this patch much more then hambow as axe burst is harder to land and the dmg effected by the adrneline level while hammer is good with just 1 bar.
Running celest sowrds bow is a full hybrid build which is very fun and good for duels but less good for tpvp, currently. But I would trait it a whole different anyhow 0/6/5/0/3
Don’t get us wrong we all were sure it’s gonna hit much harder.
But at it this point ppl just happy with anything which is not a nerf

100b → arcing and then whirlwind if they did not escape too far
(arcing doing around 4K dmg in spvp)
So more damage is always welcome but now I actualy do use it

Dude seriously? we know you know your servers and it’s a long know fact that GW2 got kitten server, and around patch times the server gets more crowded and the lags worsen. So either just admit already that you got a problem (since about lunch) or don’t respond at all, like always.
You acting surprise about it is just plain insulting.
Well we all figured how the fact that missing ur burst waste adrenaline just binds the warrior even harder to the long bow, but have you thought about that the quick adrenaline decay does that too?
As you now cannot possibly save the adrenaline for the next fight the best thing to do is firing combustive shot for a the fire field to combo with arcing arrow, so at least you can have some might stack out of it.
This of course binds us harder to runes of strength(or hoelbark), as mayb there were 1 or 2 warriors who did not used them already.
But yeah we got 12 weapons that we “could” use….
While arcing slice tooltip is bugged the other way, u do get +10% dmg but tootip don’t show it.
Like it so hard to get everything right the first (they had 6 month to test it), just another small examples showing this game is maintained by a bunch of amateurs.
Any1 who think ranger LB is now “balanced” deserve to have this great game supa pro balance team
