I played the Gun Flame “flavour of the beta” build in spvp and had far too much fun to be playing on a Warrior. People got pretty salty and upset which was fairly understandable when their entire team got downed by a well placed Gun Flame. However you do have to kitten yourself quite significantly to pull this off so any sincere focus by the other team usually forces you to switch to greatsword and back off or land some seriously clutch Gun Flame shots before they close in on you.
I tested a few other Berserker setups in spvp but none of them stuck out to me. The specialization feels a bit lacking at this moment in time. Rage skills don’t justify their place on my utility bar and the trait line lacks a lot of bite. I hope the specialization receives some critical review as it currently doesn’t warrant it’s place in the meta.
I’m afraid I am also a player for whom Dragon Hunter was one of the only specializations that I couldn’t get into at all. The traits were simply meh, the longbow animations were clunky to the point of irritation and the dissonance between melee range traps and a long range weapon was utterly jarring.
I could not for the life of me get Greatsword to work in spvp, it felt far too clunky. I ended up going back to the standard Dagger/Warhorn and Staff setup instead with good results. I think the specialization is in a good place but for me the greatsword is nearly as bad as the axe. I hope they review it going forward.
Personally, I’d prefer improvisation recharging 1 of your 6-0 skills. It doesn’t have to be selected from recharging ones only, but only 1 skill out of the 5 equipped (even if it’s not on cooldown). This way, there’s a 20% chance to recharge 1 of your equipped skills. The more you have on cooldown, the better the chance of recharging one of them.
I think the consistent recharge would possibly be too strong. Furthermore having actual interactions with other traits would surely improve the trait from what it currently is.
This would be a brilliant change.
Improvisation has many more fundamental flaws already, though.
For example, it has an unpleasant sort of RNG where it always recharges things you don’t have equipped, which is not fun.I’ve put real thought into this one because Improvisation seems fun in theory but is lame in practice. My first thought was having it do some complicated things with internal cooldowns and limiting skill types to what you have equipped, but tech-wise that’s got to be a nightmare.
Here’s an easier idea: Whenever you Steal or use a Stolen Skill (which, of course, you get to use twice) you take 3 or 5 seconds off of a random skill that is currently recharging.
It’s a roughly equivalent amount of recharge taken off, on average, but it’s split up a bit more so that you really feel like you’re making things up as you go.
Even better, that ensures that it’ll be useful for you no matter what you have equipped, without forcing you to equip every skill type or all one skill type to have it function.
Improvisation can be very powerful if it procs the right way and I assume the developers want it to be this way. It competes with Executioner which is an incredibly effective trait, so clearly the devs believe it warrants taking. I would estimate that at the moment the majority of D/P Thieves in sPvP have this trait equipped. I believe it should work with Flanking Strikes, thereby making FS more competitive in comparison with Thrill of the Crime and Uncatchable. Adding further interactions makes Improvisation less bad than you currently believe it is and potentially empowers other traits with which it might interact. Thus enabling further build diversification in player versus player which should be encouraged
Have the developers given a reason why Improvisation doesn’t recharge Flanking Strikes? I was wondering whether this is a mere oversight or an intentional design/balancing choice?
This is a huge mistake if they go forward with it. This sub-forum should be preserved like the Dungeon Forum and I hope they listen to the community when it comes to the BLTC section. Anet this is a really really bad idea.
This doesn’t really have anything to do with [EviL] except the fact that you are using the name for whatever reason?
Ranger, completely broken class. It’s so ridiculously overpowered that ArenaNet is going to completely revamp it from the ground up in the near future!
Disturbed Squad [DISS] is currently looking to recruit active, able and passionate WvW players. We raid six days a week between 18:00 and 22:00 GMT. Friday is presently our day off.
What classes are we currently looking to recruit?
We are looking for capable Elementalists, Thieves, 1 Mesmer, and 1 Necromancer.
What type of players are we looking to recruit?
Currently DISS is only looking for players with extensive WvW experience. In addition players with plenty of GvG experience will likely be preferred. To be clear we are not looking for willing beginners and are not interested in teaching enthusiastic newbies. Furthermore we expect you to have attained an excellent understanding of WvW and mastery of your preferred class. Note that this is a prerequisite for any applications.
Finally a fluency in the German language is a basic requirement that anybody even considering application must fulfill, as all our raids are in German.
We are currently playing on Jade Sea [FR] and intend on staying there for the foreseeable future. Please note that transfer costs will not be reimbursed irrespective of the trial outcome.
If you have any questions please whisper: Aracknoid.2538, rechner.1408 & suprNovae.5410

The amount of massive slowdowns and teleport lags is worse than it has been in recent memory. I hear similar stories from other EU servers lower down the ladder. I am fairly sure this is a recent server side change. I hope this is addressed before leagues restart.
Yesterday I finished my daily (about 18-19 minutes ago) moments before reset but I received no daily chest. No, it was 23:59 and I completed it well before the achievements were reset. Is this a common bug and are there known solutions to it?
And, even considering your composition: 8 out of 25 are guardians. That is nearly one third of your composition. There are 8 classes.
All classes are equal but some are more equal than others…
I prefer the latter two options personally but any change on this front is welcome. It is far too easy to just kamikaze resurrect the lord for long periods of time with no real strategy required. This should have been changed shortly after the game launched and the fact that ArenaNet have still not addressed the abuse of the mechanic is simply abysmal. Any of the changes you proposed would be a welcome shift of the status quo.
Yet it’s rarely the melee train that is dealing the bulk of the damage. That job is usually the responsibility of the necromancers and elementalists.
I think the threat of being eaten by bearbows keeps many people up at night. Beware the bear!
May I ask why this took four months to be addressed? In addition I would be curious why we were kept in the dark over this?
The amount of kills a triple kit decap engineer can farm on Skyhammer is absolutely insane. Most common builds just cannot counter it because stability uptime simply isn’t there. There should not be a map in the Solo Q rotation that favours knockback engineers and necromancers with fear spam so much more than any other class.
RG reformed as [ST], so some of the old members that used to post videos will continue on the same channels.

Not really, I want better match-ups and some real improvements to WvW. The way ArenaNet have let this game rot is absolutely sickening. I have no idea how they could design such an incredible game mode from launch and then spend the next year and half ignoring it completely. Wvw players are second class citizens and Anet makes no attempt to hide it. It actually feels like they have a certain contempt for the people still playing it, that is honestly the impression I get. The fact that they have now assigned a red to post here is entirely meaningless. I don’t expect any positive changes in the near future but I think there will be something far down the line which will then be too little too late. Instead of a boring gimmick with season 2, I would like them to fundamentally re-evaluate WvW and what they want it to be. I have seen no consistent vision from them since the game released.

Bifrost and Meteorlogicus
The two most incoherent class designs are by far the Elementalist and Ranger. Both classes are train wrecks and Anet should sincerely consider redoing the classes again from scratch.
I think you need to take the point per tick game a lot less seriously if you are staying up all night to win a virtual war which means nothing and has no rewards. Furthermore asking Anet to restrict the options for players is simply a troll on your part. EotM shouldn’t be closed down nor should any of the traditional WvW maps. If you are this obsessed with WvW maybe you should head to SFR or something?
The heavies are by far the class best suited for commanders in WvW, it’s not even close.
76.3% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
People making it into your spawn has nothing to do with overall WvW balance. You have no idea what you are talking about if you think this is even remotely related.
The fact that Death Shroud, the primary profession mechanic has been bugging out skill bars for over year is a joke. The fact that Anet responded over a month ago claiming that they tracking it and would fix it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE is an absolute farce. Fix this sooner and not later….
Do rangers even need a buff in WvW? Despite what all the top players say about how poor the class truly is for WvW in every single thread on the subject there are dedicated ranger players that keep telling us we aren’t “rangering” properly and so on. I say Anet shouldn’t buff the class at all for WvW if so many vocal power rangers think the class is so awesome.
Working as intended, now go back to PvE and grind Living Story achievements while telling yourself that you enjoy it!
i do great with my ranger + 4 guild mates vs zergs ( 20+ ) dont see any problems.
Do you have any videos of those fights? Surely they would put these threads to rest in a flash…
I would like an update on this and maybe even a fix some day! Could we get an estimated time of arrival for a dev response given we won’t be seeing a solution to the actual problem any time soon?
I would enjoy facing Gandara, Far Shiverpeaks or Aurora Glade in the near future. There are a few guilds on each of these servers I would like to fight open field to test their mettle as well as a few willing candidates for possible GvGs.
NA players have been using this since the new healing skills came out, and it has not been a problem here.
It’s not even a big deal, no one in NA goes out of their way to spam it. We don’t have necro blobs running around, we just play like we always have, if there happens to be a necro in your group then sure it might be used once or twice but it isn’t game breaking.
EU are last to learn of this, and first to abuse it, it seems. I seriously forgot all about this skill until reading these late-to-the-party EU threads. This ‘issue’ frankly ranks at the bottom of the list of things that need fixing in WvW.
If the enemy is running a bunch of necros just go out there and vaporize them with your hammer train, they won’t be able to defend themselves. Then throw ballista’s on their corpses.
I love the ludicrous generalizations in your post. I am sure nobody in NA has ever used any skill that’s been considered broken or overpowered since the game launched. On behalf of all of Europe I apologise that we aren’t all saints…
Don’t drink and drive a karma train!
Dayra, I cannot fathom why you care about the medals so much. I could understand why one might be interested in placing in the top 3 of one’s league during the Wvw seasons, but who really cares about the off-season results? Do the medals on Mos Millenium genuinely matter that much to you?
Unlocks are absolutely atrocious please undo the implementation of the new healing skills and don’t introduce anything to this effect at any future juncture. It’s not good for the game, no matter what your polls say.
Afro you took the damage reduction signet instead of all those utilities you wrote an essay about in that theorycraft thread and yet you are still rallybotting hard. Why would you post that? Wouldn’t highlights of good open field fights or successful sieges be preferable?
Necros have Nemesis
No, just no. I mean you are kidding right? Listing Nemesis alongside the likes of Obal is frankly insulting to Obal, who is a credit to Guardians everywhere.
Although I dislike the term idol, I have huge amounts of admiration and respect for Wethospu. Watching him solo stuff on his warrior makes me feel like he is somehow playing a different class to me, it’s incredibly impressive!
4. You’re a Pro Zerg WvW player who is too lazy or cheap to respec for dungeons.
Every WvW player I know runs full Zerker in PvE and has no issues purchasing a secondary armour set solely for this purpose (ascended with scholar runes no less). In fact many of us even use the builds that Guang, Obal and yourself have posted on places like Reddit, Guru and these boards. Crazy stuff I know…
Having the Vigor on critical hit traits have an ICD is a nerf, but I think it’s healthier for the game in the long-run. Engineers already lost their perma-vigor setup last patch, so I think it’s good that Mesmers and Guardians are following suit. I am interested to see how my Guardian plays in WvW raids and sPvP without perma-vigor active.
I think this is the most important question for Mesmer in relation to the upcoming changes and the question has been posed in the deceptive evasion thread Josh Davis posted in, so I imagine people are hoping he will respond to it.
As somebody who thoroughly enjoys playing Mesmer and has made active use of Deceptive Evasion in nearly every Mesmer build I have ever played I applaud this change if it’s implemented correctly. The only question that remains is how it will interact if you have clones that are running towards the target after you hit shatter and you dodge, in theory it should give you another clone but I wouldn’t be surprised if they get this wrong. If a developer could answer Bearlin’s question it would be much appreciated.
These changes look very promising though it remains to be seen how they play out once implemented. It does look like a step in the right direction though.
Rangers don’t bring much to zerg fights except the ability to hit the enemy commander with Entangle and I believe Engineers, Thieves, Mesmers and even Warriors are better roamers. In addition I seem to come across a lot of dead Rangers in WvW.
But you get killed by rangers on your warrior in duels don’t you? Yes actually, I remember that quite well
You remember the fight you lost and now you are lying about it to save face?! Are you kidding me?! How low of you Jarrod, though totally in character. It confirms everything Elpro ever said about you. Then again you are in INVI a guild with a gvg track record that can only bring about smirks and laughter. Your guild never evolved and never improved its game, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if INVI never gvgs again. I hope I get to smash you again in the future just to see you squirm again in pm and then proceed to lie about it on the forums. Sorry stuff…

Have any of the bugs Nike listed in his rather exhaustive list (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/fractured/Summary-of-Fractal-Issues-and-Bugs/first) been addressed yet?
