Before HoT, GW2 alwo was not F2P.
What’s the problem if before F2P GW2 was the perfect game and after HoT that game is immediatly become a “P2W”?
Is then the F2P that make a Perfect game a P2W game?

F2P came in august 2015. We had 3 sec queue time with premade at high mmr.

HoT came in October 2015. We have now soloq rank queue time of 8 min+ more at equal or so MMR.

HoT killed the F2P populations.

I am a B2P guy. I like it. But, F2P is what make spvp popular with big population to get a real match-maker that work.

Compare now to September 2015, spvp is dying.

I want spvp to strive like it was in September 2015. The solution is a F2P experiences that have nothing like Buy to Win associated to it, so F2P players can make our game strive again.

Dude, i asked you above, when was HOT announced? And you keep on dodging the question, making the game f2p before HOT release was a marketing strategy.

Wrong again. Summer 2015 was the F2P heaven, we had 3 seconds queue pop in RANK queue.

HoT did come in 25 October 2015 and shorter queue time were 1 min or so. Both at the same MMR or so.

Well if its not HOT spec line based its hard to do things.

For instance i cant even rez in rampage since they reduced its stability and now even in rampage mode i get feared,knockdown and stunned constantly.

Also we all know S4 of league is about the grind and not about how good the players are.

I respectfully disagree, most good player will reach legendary with less than 200 – 250 games. And since folks have to win 5 vs 5, i don’t see how skills are excluded?

We HAVE both. That’s the problem.

Pips just do not work. It’s not a good system. It’s a race to the top. The only “competitive” aspect of it is who can get there the fastest. Pips just signify how far along the track you are, not how skilled you are.

MMR with leaderboard works. We had it in the past. It wasn’t perfect, but it did give you an idea of how skilled you were.

Careful what you ask for!! It wasnt perfect is the key word here, they swapped it for a reason.

Arguably the best thing anet could do is just get rid of trees.
Players get to choose;
3 x grandmaster traits.
3 x master
3 x adept
6x conjunction traits.

They can choose from any trait line tree to make a specific build for their play style.

It’s applies 3 damaging conditions that are easily, cleansed there are build in breaks in between evades used from DB can be easily interrupted especially with all the Cc in game, easiest way to kill it is Immob or stun which are abundant in this meta.

Fivedawgs I know you main War which is grossly more OP than this thief build so don’t try to claim Condi op on an easily intteruptible build especially with the amount of Cc and Condi applications warriors have on top of sustain.

I main Power Warrior which is not OP, and my power build is not even meta. Most peopel rather run GS/ axe + shield then GS/ Mace + shield which i run, because it;s easily countered by stab. I said it again and again, the condi warrior build needs to be adjusted.

But you guys are acting as if the OP was an imbecile.

Should we balance around complete noobs? Anet already did with HoT and see what happened – most of classes are pretty much on auto-pilot now and pvp became skillless and boring.

Using this logic, we shouldn’t adjust DH at all. Since, Frosty bobbles or other high tier revs have managed to beat Mo/obs?? right? They can kill the build without killing the class, it has been done for Killshot warrior (the piercing was tone down, etc..)

I think this is what they use. Basically they spam dagger 3 and evades, while maintaining endurance from the heal and signet.

As for the build, it just requires CC lock timing/kiting when 1v1ing or literally ignoring it on teamfights

If they take the 12 sec CD block they fixed their cc problem instead of the skill 9 taken in the video skill 8 also breaks cc a passive is active on this thief that breaks cc. CC will not kill this thief. It can literally tank a point longer than a guardian in 1 vs 5. I haven’t even touched on the thieves that abuse this with SA to hold a point then swap to d/p and run to the next point.

1. The thief evades not stealth on point okay? If you understand this….
2. The thief can’t hold the point indefinitely so at low hp escapes the 1 vs 3 or 1 vs 5 Using stealth ? Understand yet?
3. Then the thief decaps another point and contests it as his teams or neutral repeating after a few minutes of 1 vs 3 or 1 vs 5.

The problem is that they dont need use #2 – #5 skills. Evades and aa do all job. They can kill but cant be hitted or killed.

Wrong. They use skill 3 to evade as well, and maybe occassionally use the AA. They don’t use 2, 4, 5 because those are all power skills with no condition damage.

Works better with conditions, but power specs also spamm evades as a kind of invul.

Anet, it’s time to look at this build. Way Way too cheesy, it;s bad for the aorta.

I’m not a bad player. I would say I’m average; each season so far I’ve generally stopped around end of Sapphire/start of Ruby depending on how much time I want to dedicate. Myself and two others on my team were just beat by a single thief by him dodging repeatedly. He would occasionally use his staff leap skill but, he was literally dodge jumping almost the whole time. We barely hit him and he would just heal anyway. I realize I have every opportunity to play my thief the same way but, it doesn’t make it right. The amount of evade they have now is just irresponsibly unbalanced. Please reduce it.

You are right, dont let any of the noobs above tell you otherwise. ANET HAS TO NERF THAT build. it require no skill and all the thief has to do is evade whislt spamming condi. Thanks for bringing this back..

Regardless of their intentions, it’s still a huge kitten move to go back on their original design philosophy of sPvP being a completely level playing field, where skill is the deciding factor, not higher levels or better gear or access to better abilities.

If they wanted to fix this they could either split queues for core/f2p vs HoT players, or allow elite spec access to core/f2p in sPvP, or just balance the kitten game so that elite specs aren’t the best option 100% of the time for every class. At this point all of those seem very unlikely, though.

To be true: to sell the Game (if you buy it it’s the entire game, that is both core and expansion).

Had I ever told that Elite are here to make F2P play happy and win fights?
I told that ANet want to sell his game, like every company.
I also told that grant elite specs to F2P is a really terrible idea, simply why isn’t what ANet planned (and i can only hope that it’s not what they want to do), specifically why they want to Sell the game(+expansion), not make you play for free.

You simply summed all i told, without try to belive why I wrote that.

There’s a BIG Difference between a P2W and a B2P, that’s the only thing I want to make you understand.
But you all still insist to that “B2W”, that don’t even exist!

In terms that also you can understand:

Buy the game if tou want to Play this game and be at the same level of everyone.

Any thing that make F2P don’t want to Buy that game is not a good thing for the game.

And what do you think will happen if ANet make F2P able to play at the same level of who bought the game? even in a single game mode.

I like the treb and often use it, maybe only for a few shots in mid at start. But if it´s destroyed, i don´t run to repair it. This is a wate of time and propably even more points to the oponent. If someone runs for treb repair it´s usually a loss ….
So remove the repair kit, it´s a beginnes trap. Increase turn speed. Ammo options would be very nice. A large water field and a poison field on 20s cd on 4+5 maybe.
And don´t screw treb. Secondary objectives that can turn a match enrich PvP.

WHY??? Aren’t beginners supposed to learn from their mistakes? Why are you trying to dumb down this game? Water field, Posion field?? So more Power Creep?? kitten, these are the same people who are complaining about hot power creep!!

Anything that modifies attack speed also modifies all channels (including stomps).

Can’t decide if Lucred is saying facts wrong to trigger people, or he actually believes it

Considering I witness it firsthand every day (both on the giving and receiving end), I believe it. I’m not trying to be confrontational, but it seems like this is how it actually works.

Unless there’s another explanation for sub-1-second stomps from characters with no specialty stomp mechanic (like guardians and warriors) when and only when they’re on the same team and in close proximity to a chronomancer. I’m willing to learn here.

Just wanted to jump in here and give a quick summary list of some of the feedback in this thread.

  • Have treb take damage from condi’s and crits
  • Rotation speed increase NO
  • Remove Treb completely NO
  • Faster fire rate NO Why do you want to increase the power creep??
  • Different treb amno that supports allies on points NO
  • Teleport skill drop the siege bundle

Remember that this thread is a discussion between myself and you the community. I can’t promise any of the suggestions will be implemented or when. However, I am reading the thread and taking the feedback very seriously and passing it along to the PvP Team.

Now some additional questions:

  • If you could add one ammo type to the treb (poison shot, healy shot, etc.) what would it be?
  • How long (in seconds) do you think it should take the treb to turn from Home to Far?
  • How long (in seconds) do you think a damage dealer (either physical or condi) should take to kill a treb?

Since when is ressing a massive problem? there is tons of cleave in this game. Heck sometimes getting somebody up is an task in itself taking kittentons of cleave damage. They are things such as CC from party members to interupt resses. Heck against certain team comps u shouldn’t try to ress. And if u manage to succesfully ress. U might as well put yourself in a disadvantage and were prolly better of kiting, juking or disenaging anyways. Rather then add to the snowball affect of a full team wipe.

All that needs to be done is implement the 1 v 1 rally policiy and you’re good to go and reduce the range of when u can be ressed. And this is more on principle really. Rather then ressing bieng an unbalanced mechanic which it isn’t. And this isn’t even needed in my opinion. But rather if ressing needs fixing. then implement this.

1 v 2’s should be incredibly hard to win by default. It’s you on your own with limited stats vs another player and an partner that tries to kill you. they may or may not be co-ordinating thier attacks which means if they are. Your odds are supposed to even lower. the 1 v 2 is not an solid argument when this game is mainly a teamgame. And where ressing will ussually involve 1 multiple players. Combine this with the matchmaking that needs to be fixed as well. And gaps might as well widen even more.

U shouldn’t Incentivze players to become even more selfish as ressing become a liability. And kill feeling of working together even more. If implemented wrongly u’d create more animosity as people would become even angrier for having thier teammate downed as they have less options to carry.

This!! The OP post is L2P issue. Anet should focus on fixing bugs instead of rinning rezzing.

This is something we’ve been monitoring for a while. We’re looking at a couple of different options here, but we do need to be careful making changes to something that is so integral to PvP gameplay (and as a note, we’d be making changes to PvP only).

Below are some suggestions I’ve seen on this forum over the past few months. We wouldn’t do all of them of course, but I figured I’d throw them out and see how you folks feel about them.

  • Implement 1-to-1 rally policy, similar to WvW. This means that only 1 player would rally per enemy killed, rather than up to 5. Would likely be the downed ally closest to the enemy player.
  • Cap the range at which someone can rally.
  • Bring back PvE-downstate policy
  • Shorten revive/downed “invuln” buff.
  • Reduce healing per tick when rezzing.
  • Further reduce downstate HP
  • Adjust outlier revive skills (Function Gyro)

Please don’t DESTROY PVP… REZZ IS FINE, 5here is no need to change it. Focus on FIXING BUGS.

What you need to do, I to look at scrapper rez ability or whatever. But don’t touch rezzing.

Glad to see this. Great job. Feels good knowing that warriors are well taken care of after I pass the torch in the community.

I am chilling in ruby hell at the moment as I waited too long to push up. But if I get bored of other RF stuff, I may try and get at least diamond.

Yeah, I know you d get there, but you have to do it ASAP though. Since your teammates have a huge impact on the outcome this time around. I believe wilson is struggling in amber, although he doesn’t play that much.

Btw, I think you were right about signet of might that battouza dude keep on owning people with it. So, I am currently trying to get a hang of it.

Mad is a good warrior and a frequenter of the 1 vs 1 arena’s. No matter how good one person is at their class there is always a hard counter and Mad would be the first to tell you that. Seen him lose first hand to Mesmers, Guards and other warriors but it’s not from a lack of skill obviously but rather that’s just the nature of pvp. Any class with a high up time in reflection is going to give that build problems.

Good work on reaching legendary though and I bet it was a lot of fun doing it with Rifle/LB. The beauty of pvping with a weapon set like that is the average pvper has no idea how to counter it because it’s not “meta”.

i see, MAd is the one who climbed with Rifle/ Lb, idk why he ius using LB/ Mace shield these days. Anways, i got to legendary with power warrior Mace. Shiled GS.

I have reach the last tier of legendary and i am having a hard time against Revs!!

Since we already have WvW, I’d rather the Devs spend time and resources on something else.

WvW is dead.

Remove WvW servers and add open PvP Tyria. That would be fun. It could be like WvW. As the OP stated, guilds could claim outposts/cities and attempt to defend them. By holding an outpost someone in Arah let’s say, your guild could gain MF bonuses or something in the area that surrounds it, ect.. ect.. I would spend hours and hours in to this game mode. It would easily replace WvW.

Probably something that would never happen but it would be fun.
Reminds me of old Ultima Online days.

How is WvW dead, and how can you make such a statement when you don’t even post there? It’s like me, an hrxcore spvp player, saying pve is dead..

Literally, “a player beginning play on his first day”, could load in to his tier 1 WvW server and notice that very few people were in the map to the point that it was boring and difficult to find action happening.

I get into fight like those every Friday. I undrtsbad that the mode is a shell of its old self buy the devs are busting their kitten off to improve it and thus far they have don’t a pretty good job. As a matter of fact, WvW is 100% better now than during S1 or 2.

I know he climbed with rifle and lb and use signet of might. That’s all I can tell, and to my knowledge he has yet to lose a 1 vs 1. When I was climbing, dude would go far ( high doamond) and folks would stay away from him ( revs, scrapper, DH). You don’t simply 1 vs 1 against mad martini regardless of your class or skill, because dude wins 95% of his 1 vs 1. Needless to say, I ve never killed him in 1 vs 1. Our fights usually ends with him having 10 or 5% Hp left.

I am saying 1 vs 1. I don’t think any scrapper killed me 1 vs 1.What you are describing to me is like a team fight since I don’t recall it. Trust me, me losing to a scrapper 1 vs 1 is mechanically impossible atm.

True, if a pro scrapper vs a low mmr player ( rev) vs me can’t kill me and failed to do so countless time. I don’t see how I can lose to an engi in 1 vs 1. Btw me not losing to a scrapper doesn’t mean I killed him or didn’t lose the point ( in 2 vs 1).

Lol, at engis beating DH and at league meaning nothing. Scrapper are so lame atm that I have yet to lose against one since league started.

I don’t recall dying to any scrapper since the league started … or to put it in plain words. I have not lost to a scrapper from ruby to legendary. Since I don’t recall anything that happened in saphire tbh. Then again, I have a total of 7 games in saphire.

OK you said last month, was it in unranked or ranked? Because of pretty good record of hammering pro scrapper. I doubt it was in ranked… but yeah, if I did then something was seriously amiss.

honestly a little ridiculous that i can queue for ~5 hours in a day and only get one match to pop

It’s very unlikely to happen LMAO. Try to play at peak hours

what are peak hours if not the 4 hour window both before and after daily reset?

At least the average queue is under 3 minutes.

Last season I was getting 10+ minutes and gave up. This season I’ve given up because I keep getting teams that don’t know what home is.

Funny because mine are around 10 max, I usually get 17 or 20 min queues in the morning.. but it average out around 10 min or even less during prime time. Are you both auspices?

I wish I could get queues to pop in the morning lol, between 6 AM and 1 PM EST queue pops are so rare that I don’t even bother anymore

That’s sucks, I guess it pays to live in the Texas.

What that gamemode need is a balance between healer and dps. Stop playing during S2, when druids and ele kept bombers alive whilst being tanky negating any of my dmg. But the gamemode itself has potential, although I rarely play it ( last time I touched it when during S2).

I think adding burning oil on the inner and outer gate would help as well.

Something really needs to be done about queue times. In legendary x2 it is almost impossible for me to get a game at all even at prime time. With queue times averaging about 40 minutes, most of my ‘play time’ consists of me standing around in a queue doing nothing. There is nothing I want to do in pve right now either because I have got almost every achievement and done every bit of content multiple times. Right now I can’t get more than 4 games per day even when queue times are better than average for me even though I play at least 4 hours every day and I like to play 15-20 per day in lower divisions.

Something about matchmaking needs to be changed in legendary division- maybe just match anyone in legendary against anyone else in legendary without even considering pips or MMR because right now even the lowest quality matches ever are better than no matches at all.

How about a Big Fat No!!

Since we already have WvW, I’d rather the Devs spend time and resources on something else.

WvW is dead.

Remove WvW servers and add open PvP Tyria. That would be fun. It could be like WvW. As the OP stated, guilds could claim outposts/cities and attempt to defend them. By holding an outpost someone in Arah let’s say, your guild could gain MF bonuses or something in the area that surrounds it, ect.. ect.. I would spend hours and hours in to this game mode. It would easily replace WvW.

Probably something that would never happen but it would be fun.
Reminds me of old Ultima Online days.

How is WvW dead, and how can you make such a statement when you don’t even post there? It’s like me, an hrxcore spvp player, saying pve is dead..

I disagree, you couldn’t be further fro truth, Let’s look at warrior for instance, the Defense line is more OP than zerker or discipline. Same with Guardian, their core lines are better than DH, hence why most of them are running core guardian.
