Ive been rank 80 for dunno how long, so thats not what i do it for, some ppl do worldboss rotation and just hit 1 on a boss, i prefer doing something else for easy farm, dunno why some ppl are so offended by this.

Because the maps aren’t there to please a bunch of farmers. They’re there for players. This is PvP, not PvE.

All i just asked was for anet to not forget the ‘play however you want’ mentality they set out for this game, and that they most likely without realizing it removed a way ppl liked playing on the skyhammer map.

as for ‘this is PvP, not PvE’, i had a remark about how you seem to belong to a higher class of players since your a PvP’er, but i didnt come here to start a fight such bs.
I’ve enjoyed GW2 in all its facets so far, I’m just sad that I spend 300g for something i like to have it taken away from me after a week.
Also i’d much rather have em work on underwater combat bc capricorn showed the potential underwater combat has, even though it seems they chose to abbandon it instead of optimizing it.

For a few months now i have been admin on a bunch of custom arenas and hosting rankfarm games on the skyhammer map.
Im part of a 200+ guild that has formed around this type of farming, and for the benifit of that guild (and anyone that enjoys rankfarm) last week I decided to buy my own custom arena.

So yesterday i was very sad to see the new skyhammer map come and basicly all the glass platforms dissapear… couldnt we just have the one under B back for us rankfarmlovers?

I am aware that there is a ‘new’ farm… but that’s not why i spend 300+g on a custom arena..

yes, but since yesterday we went to the next itteration of osx, so i’m just concerned that the game will break just by keeping our computers up to date..

Also in their announcement of the mac beta they tried to make us believe that this client was very important to them lemme pull a quote from the post:

basicly today i went to the transgaming website to learn that they sold their cider bussiness to nvidia.

Will this affect the mac client and does this mean that support for the mac client will now be decreased even more?

dunno if you still need a fix, but you can go into your gw2 folder and just copy the gw2.dat file to an external hd and replace the one he has with that, the dat file is basicly the full game that the patcher tries to download

Thing is, they’ve said multiple times that the HOT update is rather small, and more balancing and making preparations for further expansions…

if they would have priced it: €40,-for expansion €45,- + char slot, nobody would be here to complain about it, but fact is. we all bought the core game, and everywhere they say they wanna resell that to us. they just f’d up by saying core game included…

I don’t have the new 5K imac, but as far as ive heard its not a great machine for gaming,
most of the extra calculating power it has goes into supporting the 5K. then again, i don’t know if gw supports 5k, so if u run in a lower resolution it might be a benefit…

I assume the crafting mats they talk about will be the ones we now buy with our skill points, with some way to upgrade them by combining to a higher tier, like, philosopher stones to crystals to eldritch scroll, to bloodstone shards. seems like the most logical way to do it, and then make those items gold bought from then on…

it wouldn’t be a huge shocker if SAB was a mini expansion you had to pay for like the Story of Master Togo in GW1. since gw2 has gone thru the false promises so far with free content, which i have yet to see every 2 weeks, i think ill not be bothered with any expansion buying what so ever until they get their customer’s interests in the game permanently, like other successful mmo’s.

The work around is pretty much downloading the patch in your web browser and applying it manually. You an also just copy the patched client/app from a prior OS and it will work (why I have a 10.7 virtual machine with GW2 installed still hanging out).

so what is the file i should copy from the macbook to the imac?

Well, good thing its not just a mac error but a general one (meaning, it’ll be fixed way quicker)

Not a big issue for me, but my second machine runs the yosemite beta, and there the launcher fails to update.
I know there was a fix around last time, when the launcher updated but havent back peddled trough the forum to find and retry that one

IMO, u’ve got 25 dungeon paths, and 8 story paths.
u’ve got fractals, a different kind of dungeon that scales in difficulty,
u’ve got world bosses like wurm and teq that u can spawn with a guild if u want to do it with ur own group
u’ve got wvw & pvp

endgame is not an issue imo….

We have almost gotten the Devs to make the first statement about the mac client since a year ago? ever? Let’s wait for this and place our complaints and issues in that thread, it’s the mac technical support forum and we seem to be read outside of the forum as well now.

I prepared Windows for the patch and informed a friend to be ready to buy/sell stuff for me.
I’m also waiting for the CDIs and dev comments on the mac client to decide my direction with the game.

Well, ive got bootcamp on my imac, but not on my macbook (bc of disk space)
and I rather ask them beforehand to be sure everything works then get a fix 2days after launch, bc to be honest they have been quick in fixing errors lately, so if they can fix it before launch = Happy me

Can u confirm that the new TP / web interface will work perfect on Mac, bc it was finally doing its job consistently, or at least it did for me..

As you can read in the first sentence: you can choose to disable/enable this function, you no want, u no need to use.

So since the ‘big’ feature patch, not only the tp seems to have broken for me,
but I’m also have an unusual amount of dc errors, skil lag , slideshows, etc.

I am most certain that the increase came together with the update, bc the last time i had any problems that made the game this unplayable its was in the EotM update.

Graphics settings have been set to lowest possible, and still I have more problems then when everything was on and above medium a week ago. :’(

thing that makes me doubt about it being a mac bug is… 2days since patch and only complain topic is on how Anet loves to kitten up the TP for mac.

yes, because clearly everyone plays the game the way you do? Because my gf who use to try and use a champ train to earn some gold every now and then to play around with her chars looks because she only really plays 5-10 hours a week, has a ton of options to make this money that is supposedly so easy to get? Not everyone can play the game the same way you can so what you’re saying comes off like “i have friends that can make 30 gold a day so why are you complaining?”. I’m pretty sure people are allowed to bring up things they believe are valid criticisms without being told to go play “something else”.

Yes, gold isn’t essential to the play, but for players that like skins and customization, a lot of gold is required and thats not easy to come by since there are no reliable ways to actually get the items in the first place.

My friend, if i may call you that, I hate running dungeons daily, so I’ll never do more then 1dungeon path on a day. (that was just an example for the OP)
And I too love changing my look, i’ve saved every skin i could since they announced the wardrobe. And I must say i am really sad that I had so little stones, because I already spend about a forth of my charges on changing skins on all my alts.

The play something else was directed at the OP that clearly states he just plays the same dungeons over and over, I don’t think he’s into Roleplaying.

well u missed the point in me knowing ppl that can make 30G on a day, first of all i didn’t say those r casual players, but what i’m really saying there is: when they do grind up that kind of money, and buy the latest hottest skin: a week later that skin is passé (too them) and they move on never to look at it again, they don’t love their skins in the same way someone like your gf does, simply bc they can get them this easily.
Don’t you think I don’t feel a grudge against ppl that have special one time only skins just filling up their bankslots, while i didn’t have the time to play the event until i got a drop, or complete the meta?
Or me being sad that I don’t have enough in game gold to get gems for the latest armor set Anet released.

It was nearly impossible before to make money and still a hard grind because you had to farm boring champ trains over and over zzzzz or dungeons over and over. But at least, if you needed, you could do so.

However, now you can only get one chest per day in dungeons? What a load of rubbish!

Not only are the chests daily, but the drop rates have been hammered too! Don’t see that in the notes, but it is a fact. I used to do a dungeon and come out with 3-5 rares, now I don’t get any! It’s blues all the way with the occasional green.

The loot chests have been ruined and the loot you get from said chests when they are there is just a joke.

PvE is officially kitten and worthless now. You’ve ruined the DPS, you’ve ruined the rewards, and you’ve bugged it all.

Outside of TP flipping or spending hours wasting your life doing dungeon runs/EotM/champ trains, there aren’t that many good ways to make money.

I’ve been running around FGS trying to collect Corrupted Lodestones with a birthday booster, omnomberry bars, guild boosts and a MF over 200 and I’ve gotten about 5 in 2 weeks (25 hours or so).

I realize there are ways to make money, but there really aren’t any good ways that are fun and that would be something most players would be doing if the money incentive wasn’t there in my opinion.

pve content doesn’t require more then exotic gear which can be bought with karma or dungeon tokens.
So yes, if u want a full exo set from 1 dungeon it will take you, what? 1week/2weeks of doing the dungeon daily, as i understand OP prob has tokens enough to buy 100 full exo sets and still have some left.

I’m having fun, and guess what, my gold counter is going up without even trying.
I know some of my friends earn 4or 5G lol some even 30G more on a day then I do,
and guess what just as irl, its never enough, and they never buy anything because, what if they launch the most epic skin ever next week?

jeez.. if u don’t like what they did to the game… go play something else, i think wow space version has been release by now.

if u read how megaserver works you must realize that the game doesn’t see a random group of ppl with no connection between em (no server or guild link) as a group that needs to be put in the same instance. I believe they also said that the software tries to recognize ppl u play with, so if u do your worldboss train round same time every day, software will pick up on that and the ppl that r there. (at least that’s what i read btwn the lines)

When u do bounties however you ARE in the same guild and most likely also on the same server and in organized parties, so the game should put you all in the same instance of the map.
Don’t forget that even when it doesn’t automatically brings you to the same instance you still have the option to right-click and join in … on your party members.

This is a mayor server overhaul, and the devs have stated they are still fine-tuning the kitten out of the code that decides what instance it puts you in.

As for too many ppl being on the map: I really believe that at this time they just try to see how many ppl can be on a map before it gets too full, think its different when u have ppl all at same space (like teq) then when they r more spread out. I’m sure that once they found a good number, they wil put the soft cap for the map 20 or 30 ppl before that, so that ur friends/guildies can still easily join the map without getting stuck in different instance spamming join in… and bc of the way world bosses spawn now, even then they prob won’t miss then. (small hint, if they can’t join u, maybe u should try the join in button)

(queensdale train is something i will not elaborate on bc i think its just stupid)

Dear OP,

I believe that long before launch they said they didn’t want a grind game, and although there can be quite a lot of grinding(fractals for instance), when they try to make ppl realize there is more content then Cof P1 and AC p3 they immediately declare the game dead.

PvE is Player Vs Environment, I believe what u play is PvsDungeon.

If u wipe on for instance arah p1, try it again, u can switch your build in seconds thanks to the new trait system, talk to your party members and learn from each other, because, sorry to say so, the way you talk about the game, I can hardly believe that its only other ppl’s fault u wiped.

Back to Pve’s “Dead”, I started yet another character today, just to see how the new trait system would change the lvling experience. and as I was playing they started to roll out the mega server.
I’ve havent had this much fun lvl’ng since I rolled my first Asura back during launch.

tl,dr: OP is doesn’t realize game doesn’t realize size of PvE world and what is possible in that world.

ps: getting a rare or exotic from a random raptor in bloodtide coast is also much more exciting then from the chest u expect them to be in.

edit: and yes, I have send Bug report. to all the ppl reading bc they have some bug, plz also report in game, and to make it easy on anet: just make subject title Mac TP bugged.
That way they’ll maybe realize how many ppl play the mac client. and hopefully that numbers is enough to get a dedicated client.
(also, I “stole” my brother’s widows computer for few minutes to put gw on it and omg do u guys know how amazing the Trading most works on it!!!! couldn’t believe it)

for one of my friends that are color blind for red and green it all blends into brown so brown green and red all look the same and they cannot see aoe circles but they can see blue perfectly fine so i dunno just thought it would be a really good idea to add that option in the game and i know alot of others have it in them

It would be easier for them to set up color correction on their monitors using video card driver settings so that all applications are affected. For example, on NVIDIA cards, you can max out “digital vibrance” for a sort of high contrast mode, combined with adjustments to the individual RGB color channels.

don’t think brighter brown (for us red) is gonna be seen much better on brighter brown (green for us) if this guy cannot distinguish between the 2.

I talked to the Mac team this morning. A fix for the most recent TP issue is going in today. Regarding the on-going issues in this thread, they tell me that it it actually spans across more than the Mac client. And they’ll have more information on those fixes later.

Just glad to read that you finally have a ‘real’ Mac team working on the game, and not as it was a few months ago, when everyone did some/none work on the macclient.

I still have the partition, does it damage the HD? If so I must consider removing it pronto! SWTOR is generally vastly inferior to this anyway except they have a reliable trading post (That’s rooted in specific areas unfortunately)

It corrupted my partition, spend full day on trying to get a clean install of osx, did finally succeed

Lots of new mechanics lvl/buildwise, and a new race would defiantly incentive to start new characters.

so… didn’t feel like reading everything, so just skipped it all.
But as far as I know the reason to do dailies r the daily reward with possibility for bonus item like bl salvage kit/ bl key etc..

So I read somewhere today that Rhendak the crazed is a world boss and as such rewards an daily chest.

Since I would like to attempt to kill this, I wanted to see when he would spawn with the new world boss system, but I cannot find him on the world boss roster in the post.

Does anyone know if he still rewards a daily bonus chest with a rare, and if he will be removed?

Another thing i don’t understand about the new system is the fixed times for events like this one and for example Ulgoth, is that they don’t have a pre-event that takes 5minutes, but sometimes up to 30minutes.

They said somewhere that this change was also meant to help ppl chain the meta events more, or something like that… but because of all the overlap won’t that scatter players btw 3or 4 events every time?

tldr: will rhendak still be world boss after update? and some random thoughts bout megaserver/worldbosses

just a small reminder, you are free to play anywhere in tyria, nobody says you have to go to Moto’s epic creation.
SAB is something for the ppl that enjoy jumping puzzles. Just like the new Wurm and Teq are something for ppl that like hard boss fights, like the tournament is something for WvW, like the new team deathmatch map is something for Pvp.

I know JP isnt a ‘full on’ game type, but its a part of this game and his been since launch, and they are loved by many gamers.

I expect April 1 will be the announcement of the native mac client, that will be ported so that windows players can have a client that bugs out every 3 updates.
