I saw a few videos of the Firebrand and i noticed that when you use tomes you just get some sheets of paper around you. Can we please also get the old tome elite animation along with that? It looks silly without it.

I saw the PvP legendary division titles that were datamined by that_shaman on reddit and thought that how long will it take for them to start sounding ridiculous? Also it’s a shame people won’t be able to obtain them after they miss a season.

So my suggestion is make reaching legendary division a tiered achievement. That awards you with titles the more times you do it. Kinda like the GW1 GWAMM title. So when you see someone with a tier 6 _ Legend title you will know he has reached legendary division for 6 seasons.

Something needs to be done about the racial skills. Everyone of them feels out of place and outside of the first levels noone realy uses them. I now that they are for fun and to add some flavor but i cant help but feel that they are a missed oportunity.

Since they are only useable in PvE (and it should stay that way) i cant see why they cant be changed to something that actualy helps. My suggestion is to remove them from active skills and turn them into passives which you get to choose which to use. For example Norn would get the chance to summon a wurm to attack when they crit at a 2% chance. Or humans get blessed by Kormir and remove some of their coditions when they take codition damage at 1% chance. Small chances of activation mean that they wont affect the game too much but still be kinda fun and add flavor when they happen.

Things look way better for dragonhunter from what i tested so far. These are my thoughts:

1) Bow is way more responsive and the damage is good! I still belive that True Shot (2) should be like the Greatsword (2) Enable us to move while casting it but slower.

2) Purification needs to be activated remotly when we need it otherwise noone is going to use it. That or make it to radiate blindness for a short while.

3) For traps we need to be able to cast them at range. They feel way too restrictive now and i feel the only way enemies are going to activate them is when they come to my face and as a Dragonhunter i dont realy want that.

4) Maybe make Procession of Blades a swirl finisher.

5) I would make Test of faith to push enemies back inside the first time they touch the swords

6) Fragments of Faith needs an extra support buff like healing of protection cause right now i dont see a use for it.

7) Light’s Judgment i can only see myself using this in pvp and even then iam not too sure about. (havent test it though)

Thats all for now, after i play a bit more i might add more. Also it a shame that Spirit Weapons didnt get the rework they need. I realy belive that if they were made viable they would fit Dragonhunter like a glove and give birth to many interesting builds. Thank you for your hard work.

Some thoughts after playing with Dragonhunter more.

* I still think the heal skill needs something more, a small stability buff while you activate the trap would be lovely imo cause i dont see my self sacrificing the block from shelter when the enemies knock me around like doll

* After playing more and trying different things and watching other classes pvp on twitch i feel compared to other specializations that Dragonhunter doesnt synergize well with Guard’s other builds and weapons. For example you can go Berserker and DareDevil and never use their new weapons but thats hardly the case with guardian. I could think of a few usefull builds with traps without the longbow but thats not good enough. If Spirit Weapons were actualy good i would definately try a few builds with them and dragonhunter.

* I love the burning effect of symbol of energy and i feel bad that you are removing it.

* The longbow autoattack should be either faster or hit harder cause iam not feeling it at all right now.

* One more thing but that might be personal taste...i feel that the skill effects of dragonhunter are a bit lacking compared to the other elite specializations.

Sigh I hope it’s not true.

1. Free to play typically means the game is over. When games go free to play they don’t last as long. And the amount of spam we will get from gold sellers will be awful.

2. We don’t need raids. I understand people like them and have been asking for them but seriously go play wow and ff14. A large amount of people in this game got it to get away from garbage that destroys the community in other mmo games.

Anet please tell me it’s not true. Your looking more like a wow copycat, next it will be a gear treadmill

1. Tell that to Star Wars the old rebublic, Neverwinter and all the other f2p games that have existed for years.

2. YOU dont need Raids. YOUR opinion is different from everyone elses. Most of the community have been asking for challenging group content. Also Raids has a wide meaning and ArenaNet can impement them very differently from other games.

Here are my thoughts:

I like that it feels like a new class, ive been playing a guard since the release of the game and i felt that i had to learn him from the very beginning, it was fun.

The new trap skill needs a rework. I gurantee that after the first days most people will ignore it. Even if it healed you for full HP the fact that an enemy has to trigger it its troublesome. If i had to suggest something it would be that it should work more like the ranger trap heal.

The longbow true shot skill needs something more...maybe a hold down mechanic that the longer it is hold the more damage it does? I just felt that it is kinda empty the way it is now

The longbow deflection shot i think that it should move slower so it would be easier to deflect stuff.

I think test of faith would be better if it pushed back enemies inside once if they touch the swords thus adding more utility

The basic edition is available in some stores in my country but iam interested in getting the deluxe one. Is there any way i can do that from a store or upgrade it later via the gem store? After watching the stream i love the changes and cant wait to play him BUT i still think the name is out of place and that traps should be renamed to wards or something like that to fit the Guardian theme.

After seeing the “traps” I think they are only called traps so they won’t need to make there own runes. Was just a symbol on the ground. Looked like necromancer staff skills

They could fix that by just changing the runes to apply to “wards” (or whatever they should rename them) too.

I would suggest the use of Pseudo-RNG that Dota2 uses for %hit chance abilities.

Simply put while using the mystic forge as an example: The more you fail, the higher the chance to succeed gets and the more you succeed the higher the chance to fail becomes.

That way you keep the element of randomness while balancing the experience for everyone.

Guardian lvl 80, Gunars Hold EU

My character looks like an invisible pixel when his is [b]in combat[/]. Out of combat he looks normal. It doesnt change when i got to other maps. Other people see me like that too so its not my graphics card

Edit, going through a mesmers portal fixes the problem for a bit but when i start fighting monsters again i return to being a pixeled mess

I agree with you wholeheardely. Most MMO players have no idea what GW2 is about and the lack of an expansion only feeds the talks about a failed product.

From the failed trailers (the live action one especially) and some bad marketing moves i believe they need to change the marketing team. The only good thing ive see from their side was the Super Adventure Box trailer and the GW2 Chinese trailer.

Along with Queen Jenna mini Bday gifts should also give a MiniPack set 1 after they get retired from the Gem store. 2nd year Bday gifts should give a MiniPack set2 etc.

If you keep adding limited edition collectables and retiring them making them hard to find sooner of later collectors will get tired and realise that collecting stuff in GW2 is a losing battle thats not worth fighting for resulting in the loss of revenue in the long run.

If you want to add rare and hard to get items in the game the best way in my opinion to do that is to add them as rare drops from specific content thus giving extra reasons for players to spend time in areas of the game that need it most. The best example of that was the Polar Bear Mini from GW1.

I mean seriously, this happens since GW1 they are a TON of stories in game that are waiting for a conclusion and we keep getting more that stay unfinished.
After i did the scarlet stuff i was expection a proper ending but they leave it open again.
They is always room for new stories but you must finish alot of the ones that remain or people will get tired of fighting for something that never ends.

My cutscene was buggy too, too much freezing, not lips moving. I loved the cinematic one though, you need to do more of these.
I think in time you should develop a tool just to do cutscenes like the one Valve for Team Fortress to make your work easier and the outcome better.

Can we get some info about the Chinese trailer in game footage? Who edited them? They looked amazing! The movements and screenplay realy sucked me in.

I hope that if there are future plans for player-housing, that there is a way for us to place the mini Zephyr Sanctum as an actual miniature in our house. Because I don’t want to carry this portable video with me, or have it cluttering up my bank space. I want to be able to place it somewhere, and then actually see it as a small 3d model.

That would be great! I wish with each living story there would be stuff that changed our Home Instances. Trophies, new merchants, simple decorations and stuff like that.

I will try to keep this as short as i can. My main reason for creating this post is beacause iam a Tyria fan since the early days of GW1 and i want the same success and love people had for it to continue for GW2. I wanted to make a post about the Living World since the Molten Alliance rolled out but i wanted to wait and see how Arena Net planned to go from there. Some of the changes ive seen have been good and some have been bad.

IMMERSION

The main problem ive seen so far with the living story is immersion. Iam not an expert regarding technical issues but with a few small changes the past LS content could have been alot more alive.
During Molten Alliance we had to put of signs for the refugees, light up campfires so they would stay warm and help them out while they were traveling. The problem with executing all that was that nothing changed. After a few hours the road signs were down again, the campfires gone and all our hard work seemed to be for nothing.
My suggestion here would be that when we are required to do an activity for and event it would be better if it would change something and the world and stay there permanent. Like the dragon effigies we had to light up in Dragon Bakitten would feel less grindy and more fun to be able to light each one of them once and they would stay lite for the whole duration of the event.
Another issue during the molten alliance was that even thought there was supposed to be a war going on it definitely didnt feel like it. I was expecting charr squards guarding points, Dredge and Fire Caste armies storming towns, soldiers shouting and buildings burning! It might be hard to execute something of this scale but if you can pull it off it definitely worth the wait and development time. Dont be afraid to think big!

LIMITED EDITION ITEMS

What i liked about GW1 was that even super rare stuff were still available somehow to obtain. Lately in GW2 iam seeing the trend of special items droping during events and then gone forever. I know you want to keep them special for the people that participated in this event but thats what achievement rewards are for right? Why not keep them in game as a super rare drop for special areas and bosses only? If someone wants to grind for along time to obtain them why not let them? Spending so much time designing items and them taking them away sounds such a waste. For example keep the Karka, Reed Drake etc. miniatures as a super rare southsun only drop. Or if the molten alliance dungeon comes back as a fractal keep that awesome looking jet back as a rare drop from that fractal only! That will keep them super limited but still available to the world of Tyria.

EVENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Currently i have done every Living Story achievement exept from a couple from the atherblade dungeon. I probably wont be able to complete them due to my limited time and the limited time the dungeon is available for. I imagine that most people feel that way too but if you are going to add super hard achievements it would be better if they are for permanent content and not for something that is available for a couple of weeks. Also the Dragon Bash achievements were the worst grind i had to do since the start of GW2. Event achievements should be fun creative and casual. Stuff that will bring a simple sense of accomplishment to people that logged in to check out whats new rather than stress them and make them feel that they have to play or they will miss them.

LORE

I know GW2 is a new game and the time for new stories and heroes to arise but dont forget the core of Tyria. That which made so many people love this world! Since the release of GW2 the core story havent moved an inch and we havent seen anything new about so many great storylines that are left unfinished. The Murasat and the Isle of Janthir, The Druids of Maguna jungle, The origins of the Silvari, The mysterious wizard tower in Kessex Hills, The Blood Stones, The Human Gods! So many storylines waiting to be moved forward and we around hunting karkas! (no offence to karkas) Every 2-3 new storylines you introduce you should revisit some of the old lore.

Please try to keep this thread clean of whining, flaming and all the other stuff that make the official forums so dreadful for the majority of the playerbase. Keep it constructive and creative. Thank you for your time reading this and sorry for any mistakes i made.

Iam no marketing or economics expert but wouldnt it be better if you left those items on the shop permanently so people would have more options in the trading post? Also this limited time only trend has to stop. Its pretty stressful for people that collect stuff.

Actually it is smarter to have them labeled as limited, since that would mean people will rush to buy them while they are available.
People that want to get them will get them fast anyway.

Yeah but down the line think of all the people that would want to add that something extra to an alt of theirs (like the quiver) and they wont be able to.

By the way the changes look great, and if you leave all the spoiled brats here and go to reddit you will see that alot of players agree. Some people are never going to be happy and i wonder why they keep coming to post in the forums.
