Greatsword is rubbish and has no place in pvp or pve. Like shroud, but greatsword is trash. Whoever thought this was ok never played PVP and should try it. Using a greatsword in pvp or pve is a massive dps decrease and is too easily interrupted. It’s laughable.

I dont underestimate it, i think we actually know this will be a decent class for pve, but a crap class for pvp. slow attacks, large cooldowns, slow skills, slow movement, limited gap closer, no ranged attacks, no reflects, no defense outside of ds. nothing will change, and we will either get kited into oblivion, and even if they stand in our attack zone, the greatsword is so freakin slow that it wont ever hit anyone.

well, what can you say, garbage in, garbage out. you put garbage into the game, and you get garbage back as a response. good job anet, once again.

After Camelot unchained and crowfall release this really will be a pve- centric game because a large number of players will leave gw2 for games that actually focus on realm vs realm and not just as a cheap afterthought. What anet failed to realize is that competition that is more dynamic, which can exist in rvr is more interesting than a 5 v 5 game that never changes and is biased to favored classes. At least wvw had more chances to show teamwork etc. Anet is wedded to some stupid principle that it can rival the aspects of LoL or DOTA and still feed its mass of pve players. They need to up their game and think outside the box with regard to competitive aspects of the pvp and wvw world and not just try to reinvent the wheel of DOTA and lol within a gw2 context. Because it’s not there and spvp is uber repetitive. Wvw has potential and there are ways to cut down on blobbing and zerg mentality, but they need to be supported, not scoffed at by anet staff members.

And for some reason they put out this golem rush without any forethought to how it will disrupt a huge amount of wvw players. I honestly play wvw a lot, and now have no desire to log in and even roam. They is no sense of ownership or achieve,net when a stupid horde of unskilled golems can rush in and undue what you have done the second the timer flips. I swear I think anet will keep these golems and just up the countdown times for recapturing keeps, etc. that would be some real trolling.

Bias is bias is bias and theses dev’s have a lot of bias. I have yet again grown tired of this game. Reaper will be for pve only because the mobs won’t move. In pvp it will be stupid compared to the other class. Slow in pvp = dead. No mobility slow hitting = dodged attacks, no damage and simple to get away from. My hats the reaper folks. Have fun

Axe needs a freaking cleave and thE power needs to be increased. I mean wtf, look at the new rev sword and they can justify our kittenty axe which is my definition of a nerfed weapon. I can do the channel damage of axe 2 on 2 greatsword attacks on a warrior. And if your hitting for 13 k its probably in pve and your hitting some glass mob that has 25 stacks of vuln.

This just reinforces my thoughts that Anet is biased against Necros and enjoys it when we complain, or simple does not give a f

Or they could just decrease ds1 power scaling to match reaper shroud 1 and make the attack speeds similar. Easy kittening fix, and burning is equal in both. God kitten was that so hard.

if i did not have to pve to grind for ascended gear, etc, and could do so in wvw, i would not do pve at all, as there is no challenge to it really. but you can’t really get material as quickly in wvw.

who the F buys golems with gold? I mean, badges are so stupidly numerous, with nothign to buy, because who needs double sets of stupid exotic gear. I have like 10k badges, and nothing to spend them on, and as I refuse to buy stupid golems, I will still have 10k badges at the end of this dumb kitten event.

Guess you don’t command or take stuff back when no commanders are around. I buy tons of siege with my badges. I probably have 1k badges left. Most of the siege I buy I turn into super siege. I don’t always command but always have siege on me and when I swap toons I swap my siege. I can go through 50+ super rams in maybe a day. Way more than that if I command.

Also I guess it depends on the tier you are in. I wish badges were stupidly numerous but you don’t get many badges when you don’t have many fights. I prefer fighting over everything else but sometimes there are little fights when people just run around trying to ninja cap stuff.

I get bored following the zerg all the time, and i use siege i get from drops to take towers, etc. i like to harry zergs, instead of following the mob. SO yeah, i have more badges, because i don’t want to spend my time throwing siege down for the masses. I have a commander badge, but i don’t use it, as I like small group combat.

2play = if your a mesmers, ele, guard, thief, warrior, and sometimes engie
not2play if your a ranger/necro.

wait, someone is going to come on here and say necros rock and rangers are awesome, then you will find out they have played under 100 games, and don’t understand why the same 5 or 6 (now that mesmers is slightly overpowered) classes comprise 95% of all teams in EU, and 90% of all teams in NA.

Yeah, you can make a necro bunkered, but you do duke for damage, and still get pinned down and eradicated under a focus fire, esp without escape skills (oh wait, but wyrm is so good…. no).

Or you can play ranger and hit people from 1500 yards, do tons of damage, feel like a god in your first 100 games, then get shut down and nailed into a coffin because your utility to your team is 0.

So, def play is you love mesmers (and want to face roll), ele (damage, mobitilty, heals out the butt), or rampage-warrior-with-kitten-strength, or engie (jack of all trades) or if you’re good on your thief and know how to rotate, but don’t if you like necros and rangers, because frustration will only lead you to these boards to cry, like me.

How about random team event, as in you log into wvw and you play for a random server, and the number of wvw players are balanced across all servers (in your region). If your in a group, you’re group can stay together. Might make for less zerg combat and perhaps reinforce small group fighting? who knows, likely not.

PVE is so mindnumbing and predicatable that i only play it to farm gold to support wvw food, or if I have to swap out runes that I cant yet afford, or have to do dungeon runs for (i.e. nightmare runes). other than that, what is the point? for the challenge? what?

Pvp was fun at first, then became boring as it became repetitive and then even worse as the top builds of 4 classes dominate the meta, leaving for little variability, which is also BORING.

WvW is the only thing that “can be” dynamic, though i grow tired of zerg warfare which makes the lone/small group player stranded. This has become excacerbated as golems are one of the most kittened aspects of combat in this game.

It literally is like taking the kittentiest part of the game and granting it superpowers as it to say, I can F my community and they still come back for more. That is how anet knows they have many fanboys.

Lol. I would like to compare number of players who play Wvw to their stale kitten 5 v 5 conquest which is mindnumbingly boring with the same boring small maps. Pvp is boring, Wvw is at least dynamic and more multifaceted. The reason why they made stronghold imo is due to the fact that wvw has way many more players than pvp, so they wanted to drawcp more players to a wvw style PVP match.

I lasted 20 minutes today as golem Rush was stupid. Opposing teams running in circles of cap recap cap recap cap recap…. No defense.

Its really almost as mindnumbingly boring as a pvp match

At present with food you can do a mix of zerk and soldiers to get a good mix of stats and 50% crit, 200 ferocity, and about 3200 power with bloodlust stacks. I think I’m hitting 24000 hps, with 20k lifeforce. Armor is like 2400 so it’s not terrible. Sure you don’t hit tHat hard as full zerk, but it’s more survivable

I think Anet broke their own rules when it comes to balancing classes or at least I think Anet has some serious issues with double standards. This whole, “oh we don’t want to buff a class to much so they become op” is one of the biggest load of crap I have seen and calls into question their model of balance and sense of integrity. Mesmers are over the top and classes with a high degree of access to burning have turned to game into a joke. Double standards, low integrity, and class favoritism is gross in this game. Are they turning this game into a first person shooter?

I mean when Necro gained dhuumfire for the first time and had it on crit, it never, at any point achieved the level of burning damage that is running rampant in this game right now, yet Necro is still recovering from the over nerf to condi damage after acqiring dhuumfire even in its current kittenty form. No respect for Anet and it’s blatant class favoritism and double standards.

I now regret paying for HOT because it’s just going to get worse. Anet’s favorite classes will power jump through the roof instead of just creep. Bad form Anet, bad form.

If you roam like I do, perplex is the best way to counter these skill spamming classes out there, ie powerful ele, thief, mesmer, guardian classes out there roaming. They will get mad at you and call you trash but It makes me love the runes even more because they are playing more powerful classes era d they know it but hate to lose. F them.

I want the initial cast of ds1 upon entry into ds to be faster. Can’t time anything with how it is now. Right now my biggest complaint with our skills are our cast times. I want to kick off my rotations to match the pace of combat but I simple can’t because I end up cancelling my casts sometimes to keep up. I either dodge out of the slow kitten cast time even though I have given myself time to get the skill off, or I slam into ds to fast and cancel a mark, etc. This is the most disruptive part of play for me right now. I get they want us to be slow mobility wise and for defense to depend on ds and to some degree our offense, but for the love of God and all that is holy speed up some of our kittening skills. I have great reaction time but kitten , I’m cancelling myself waiting for casts to go off, whereas the alternative is eat damage in the face to get a skill off?

Our trade off is just to biased towards the negative/hampering effect. I’m tired of being an interrupt magnet too. I like our overall slow bad kitten moving caster etc, but give us some of the bad kitten back and speed up our casts. Why do we have to. Be so kittening slow at casting/using skills. Those should be faster. Esp because I can’t disengage once I’ve engage.

Anyone else agree they could drop some of the time it takes to casts marks, and a lot of our weapon skills? In addition ds 1 is fine for attack speed in general but why the windup up entry into ds. We should get to fire on off immediately. Would really help us out

The devs do care about necro. How else are you going to learn PvP without a tutorial class?

Look at it, Necro has no blocks, evades, extra dodges, invulnerabilities or reflects.
It has poor in combat mobility so it won’t get away from you.

But you say “Necro has two health bars” and that’s somewhat correct.
It’s obvious that the Necro has high health and access to the “second” health bar only to prolong the fight so you can learn to use your blocks, evades, extra dodges, invulnerabilities and reflects.

But you say that a Necro can transfer condis better than anyone else.
Yes that’s true, but how else are you going to learn when to use your own condi clears?
Throw a few condis on a Necro, you’ll either get them back and you can learn when to cleanse or you won’t get them back and you will win a quick fight.

Also with well telegraphed long cast time skills you get to practice interrupting. It also helps that Necros have long cooldowns so you don’t have to worry about not being ready when it’s time to practice again.

The wells teach you to stay out of the red circles.

And which class will you want to practice your teams CC burst rotations on? You guessed it, a Necro.

Just look at how much thought the devs put into designing the Necro class

Hahah necros are mobile shadow boxers. We can’t do any huge dmg other than reflecting condis back… And are dmg sponges, so fire away

Honestly this trait should give shroud one 2 stacks of burning every hit. With the burning application that is out there, it would not be over the top, but as it stands now, it’s just too week to compete with FiTg, and deathly perception

You know if they upped our syphons, and allowed more healing in DS I think we could do better in all areas. I’m talking like double the numbers on syphons and allowing regen and other self generated healing be allowed in. It would solve some focus fire problems and we would be unique. We could compete in high tier and roam in wvw as well as solo pve content since we still are not optimal in dungeons etc.

I’m sure they felt there was a reasonable justification to do this change, contrary to popular belief Anet doesn’t go out of their way to screw us over, they just really suck at balancing us. Its an issue of ineptitude, not maliceport.

Not sure I agree,sometimes I think they nerf anything on necro that hurts their favorite classes. Can’t have their esport ready 6 class meta ruined by a Necro now can we…

Engis and warriors have been in meta as long as ele or even longer.

Mesmer got huge buffs the last patch.

How about you compare ele to Necro and tell me how long ele has been meta compared to Necro if you really need to do a comparrison. I’ll tell you what, Necro was in the pvp meta for two weeks and since has been over nerfed. We exist only in mindless zerg warfare in wvw because of two wells, and are overshadoweded in every pve aspect. In pvp, we are still low tier, yet are nerfed consistently. So I don’t give a kitten about your class comparrison to other “already” meta classes. My class has yet to enter that circle and I’m tired of it.

I kittening refuse to call Consume conditions change a buff, when we are still recovering from the initial reaming we got. It like they just made the tool we are reamed by smaller and expect us to call it a buff. A buff cannot be considered less of a reaming

That could be worth looking into. Instead of multiple stacks of burn like people are talking about how about multiple condition types in 1 hit

Just make Dhuumfire apply a stack of fire and a 2 seconds of chill. Give chill a 1 sec cooldown so when reaper uses it it’s not OP and you have a decent trait. Give it a 3 second stack of torment too then you have a Master worthy trait that conidmancers can be proud to take. You know how people panic when they see multiple condition types hit them at once.

What like engie made spam? Anet devs so love Engies.

So I beat an ele today and he said it was only because I used perplexity runes. I switched to exotic armor and light him up with nightmare runes. He died just as fast. Then he said necros are op. I said, no, necro condi is weak in general but strong if forced to push condis back to caster. He spamed me so many condis so I pushed them With plague signet and then hit him with signet of spite, followed by a doom. Not my fault he burned his stun break with my staff 5 opener. I almost play Necro to hunt bad players/class of the month players because good ones eat our class.

Yeah it would be nice if we could even corrupt stab right now…. I can already taste the tears when they fix that….. but now I really think they just wont….. yeah no stab counterplay for necros….

Why has this not been hot fixed? Wtf anet, I’m tired of the bias, this has been a Necro staple since release and now one of our imp abilities does not corrupt stability? If this is a bug, fix it. If this is intended, then once again you are demonstrating a clear bias towards your favorite class.
