thank you for the bump and the welcome happy to be here.

we are recruiting all heavy/light armour classes (to some degree, we only need one necro)

Introduction

Aftershock or [Wake] is NA/EU WvW Guild. . we are a skilled group and mainly focused on finding fights and GvGs, PPT is not important. we always search for the best fights and never back down.

Who We Want

we are looking for mature players who are not only looking to create and become one of the best guilds in gw2, but to create a fun, friendly community.

we dont want care bears (people who hate trolling, complain constantly etc etc)

someone who loves competitive WvW as much as we do,

What we Expect

1. you are expected to raid with us (if you are online) during raid times, raid times usually last from 8-9pm est to 12-1am est
2.you are expected to run the guild’s builds, however if you feel your original build is better, you can submit it for possible approval to your Team Leader
3. you will are expected to play at a high skill level. if your skill level is found inadequate or you do not improve during the one week trial period, than you will not be accepted
4. you are expected to respect not only me, but any member of the guild,
5. you are expected to be online at least 3-4 days a week. anything less than that and you will not be playing enough to improve with Wake
6. you are held responsible if you make a mistake, if your having a problem in fight(s), identify what you need to improve on and work on it.
7. you must use ts during all raids and a mic (unless irl deems otherwise e.g sleeping family) very important to be in ts to be able to coordinate with the guild
8. kick kitten and have fun.

I just think it was more of an issue of being counter-comped than you needing to work on anything. We happened to have a lot of people running guardians for those fights so we had big up time on stability. That allowed us to avoid the CC focus from your heavies and kill the softer targets around the edges until your core was the only thing left.

I suppose you could counter that by having more boon stripping and maybe a few more burst DPSers to put pressure on targets on the edge of the fights like myself.

Your heavy core is very solid and a tough nut to crack.

well one of our big issues right now is that our overall group is lacking in overall dps. and not having enough anti periphery. but that is from having a very tiny guild roster and being a new guild :P

but yeah boon strip is also a big thing that would probably help. eitherway great fights!

Yeah such a great server you left. Look at that.

just because i left said server does not mean i do not respect HoD as a whole. i have many friends there still who i keep in touch with. and my time running with MU was a lot of fun.

i only went up to bp because it is higher in said leagues and my guild is there. it is really not your call to just tell people to “kitten off” just becuase you do not want HoD to improve, to find better fights and overall have fun in WvW in the higher leagues. you can really only get facerolled from your improved ranking in leagues, which although yeah SBI will slaughter HoD. you can still have fun with fights or just kittening around doing whatever

so like i said. if you want HoD to sit in bronze league were its pretty much easy mode (no offense) and you can feel like your mlg leet pro at the game. OH and you can also keep your temp gold dolyak and your 3 blues once every 9 weeks or whatever.

OR you could kitten and not post immature, unintelligent, unessecary stuff that can possibly ruin a lot of peoples fun and other HoDer’s plans for HoD just because you and/or VLK wants to sit in there elitist corner.

so i hope this silly little forum thread fails so you all get to silver league and i can kill VLK repeatedly and giggle.

but in seriousness. HoD is actually a great server. although i am not on HoD anymore, there are wonderful people on that server with great talent like MU,Dx, and the newly xferred SWAT.

=) so if you are thinking of xferring and HoD is one of your choices..ignore this

The Hopscotch Mafia [Hop] is a new upcoming competitive WvW guild focusing on open field combat/zerg busting and looking for like minded players. our goal is to run between 15-25 consistently while having a blast and creating a mature, awesome guild community.

a little info about us and what we do.

-we are a young guild currently based on BP in silver league. its a fun server and a good -place to build up and train.
-we are a mature guild community
-we focus on finding fights more than ppt.
-we do not zerg. we focus on finding the larger server blobs/guild zergs and beating them through skill and tactics.
-we are all very hawt.

-Hop can offer you a competitive guild community. we do not like to lose but we also like to have fun as well. we are all like minded in that aspect.
-help to learn your class and improve as well as guild drills on movement, commanding, placement etc etc etc.
-Close knit group where you can find good friends that will kick kitten with you.
-help you learn your class and how it works with a zerg busting group

What we ask of you

-Have basic-extensive knowledge of your main profession. we do not expect you to be perfect, but we also expect you to have a good idea of what your doing.
- Be willing to train/take constructive criticism, learn from your/the groups mistakes
- willingness to change your build to one of ours to benefit group play and keep the group synergy.
-active atleast 3-4 days a week
- on those active days be able to get on at 8:45 est (beginning of WvW Raid)
-able to use/speak in ts. voice comms is incredibly valuable for WvW runs.

Vessel is a Henge of Denravi based guild looking for highly skilled players for our core 15 man zerg busting squad.

Why might you want to join?

-We have guild WvW events Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, that are mandatory for all who are online, we understand IRL comes first.

-We are a semi-new guild looking to get a strong core 15 man group for GvG and zerg busting (none of that Siege Wars 2 or taking boring empty towers)

I think everyone is taking this to literally.

As far as guilds that GvG is concerned it’s selfish to want to turn off the orbs just for a mechanic that is not built in game. And that probably the majority of players (atleast in NA) play for points. However that does not mean that GvG is irrelevant (see previous post on opinion) the best idea would be a separate instance for a GvG so that you can have your cake and eat it to.

To everyone not in a GvG heavy guild. Although you may be the majority, the top guilds in WvW are always guilds that GvG well. They play the most hours they kill the most blobs they capture the most keeps. So although the percentage may seem smaller they put in the biggest impact. So I suggest watching or running with a GvG guild simply in their VoIP before u make an assumption

although the video is also very dramatic, his messege is very relevant to many guilds upper tier or lower tier, large and small. while the main goal of the orbs may not be to kill gvgs it can indeed cause snowballing. and push probably the toughest, active guilds that also spend a lot of gems on xfering around looking for gvgs

although the GvG community cannot ask to turn the orbs off, as that is obviously not possible. a simple arena where we could do gvg’s in peace.

although VSL has not started doing gvg yet, in my old guild we did a very large amount of gvgs and it was honestly the most enjoyable fights ive ever had in this game.

do not change WvW for GvG players, but you cannot ignore that it is part of YOUR GAME’S community. and to ignore it will cause them to move to other games like ESO/Wildstar/Unchained etc etc.

so for this do not leave the gvg community in the dark, although u cannot obviously take away the orbs, atleast gives us our own space

is that possible? an a-net response would be wonderful.

Eh, I wouldn’t take what only a few “noble” SF kids say. The ones that don’t post here are just like anyone else and use siege. I’ll always find it funny when folks try to put some kind of dark light on the use of siege, especially when they don’t speak for everyone. The ones that don’t like siege are the ones who like to think they can 1vX, and are the first ones to run away.

Most of SF, I’ve found, play exactly how everyone else plays, which was completely evident this morning in their BL. We painted it red, they eventually got enough support to roll some zergs and take back their keeps with siege and golems a-plenty. WvW is WvW, regardless of what a select few like to post.

Yes. I think everyone forgets that in WvW, in every tier, not everyone is going to be “leet pro”. Some just got the game, some are casual PVE. Players etc ETC. not every Zerg will be talented.

The reason I posted the picture was a. I was laughing so hard about the omega golem. It hits hard!!! And that no server is all great players. And that king needs a bit of a reality check.

Well despite that I’m not gonna read this thread anymore. This is prolly the most unfriendly, need raging hostile match up thread I have ever read.

the HoD motto is you need at least 3 separate entrances into a tower/keep/camp/dolyak/sentry before you can take it.

regardless its been a fun week. to bad no one took up our offer of GvG’s :/ next time we face GoM im gonna nag you all to death :P hopefully we can get one with RH and maybe ASH? who knows

My favorite part was watching you guys work so hard to cata Briar gate down from the rock while we’re sitting around staring at the side wall that had already been down for like a half hour.

Good fights, though. Tell your balloon-wielding moose sorry. Our pugs are a bit bloodthirsty at times.
