If I legit solo a path in Arah, want to sell it via the lfg-Tool and some whiteknights kick me for “fun”, thats okay with Anet, because I’m selling paths at my own risk.

With the same logic, you join dungeonsgroups at your own risk, therefore its 100% fine to kick you at the end and sell the spot.

Just because Anet is okay with it doesn’t mean we as the community should be okay with either of those.

And yeah, veterans and above should have a downed state. Giving it to everybody would suck.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s written that the colossus reflects projectiles, right?

I mean, it’s ok play how you want as long as you don’t complain after being kicked, but not knowing some stuff at lvl 10 fractal (you did jade maw at least 4 times) is too much for even someone who doesn’t know how to read lol

Guess this game is just too hard…

Theoretically, only one person ever had to do jade maw 4 times to get to level 10 fractals. Everybody else could play the odd levels of whoever is the highest. Technically, a level 2 character just out of the starter instance could join a level 10 fractal.

But yes, he really needs to understand reflections.

Agreed. No one, no matter how tight their schedule is, is busy for 48 hours straight and if they are, they’re probably not the kind of people who play MMORPGs. From the beginning of the event ANET stated when the Mad King would arrive and leave LA.

(I do not defend their other mistakes, though, such as the stupidly grindy method to obtain weapon skins. Reminds me of WoW).

Some people only play on the weekends. And I personally wanted to take a 48 hour break during that period…but had to log in to do this or lose out on it. Was fun for the three minutes it lasted.

Not everybody transfers servers for WvW reasons. In my guild, we have members on multiple servers, but we are built up only on one server. We want to get members onto the one server so they can use what we’ve built up, and to have their influence actually contribute. If you freeze transfers for WvW, you make it so we have to wait.

Really, the guilds on different servers have different rewards thing is harmful to us, but we can currently mitigate it (in a quite expensive way). If you take away this option, give us a different way to get around this system that is harming us.

Just another point I’d like to make. Since the relative deflation increases the value of gold, this is technically a buff to every other way of making gold and those who are saving their gold for whatever reason.

And with the current inflation rates, saving money is losing money. And I’m sure a lot of you champ farmers are saving money…

The value of gold should didn’t dictate the cost of the Halloween items. ArenaNet had full control over how many of some very limited items these things cost. Sure, they had an excess surplus last year…this year you could farm perfectly for the entire duration of the event (perfectly = without sleep/logging off/doing anything else) and would be just barely able to afford the pail, let alone any of the other items that require 1000s of rares.

Why were the prices so high? Apparently because there were people who had a ton of candycorn from last year, and they wanted to get rid of the glut. But they went with the completely wrong approach to that.

The champion bag nerf makes economic sense. The Halloween prices do not. But are they related? I’m going to say no.

Edit: There could be a misunderstanding about what prices Gene Archer mentioned. He’s mentioning the in game crafting and merchant prices, not the Trading Post prices. The champion bag loot has a role in the Trading Post prices, but not in the crafting and merchant prices. Especially when those prices are not in terms of gold.

The Trading Post destroys gold. The flippers doubly-so, since 20-25% of the gold gets destroyed. If the TP flippers are the ones buying the gems at higher prices, it’s only because there’s a larger amount of gold out there. That gold comes from various places: Champions and Dungeons being the biggest two I’ve seen, with champions outweighing dungeons by quite a bit. If you lower the gold form champions, you lower the gold going into the system, meaning there’s less gold for the TP flippers to make a profit on, but at the same time, that gold has more value. Make gold more valuable, and the prices for everything will go down. It’s simple economics.

I’ll believe this works when precursor prices fall before they introduce precursor crafting.

The problem is that the decrease in gold is relative to what is was otherwise. If there’s still more gold entering the system than there is leaving, there’s still going to be inflation, just a smaller amount than previously. So the prices will be overall lower that they otherwise would be. Whether precursor prices fall or not depends on whether this change leads to deflation or not. The more that I think on it, this change is not enough to completely turn around the inflationary effect. Furthermore, the current amount of gold in the system needs to leave, which takes time.

So, while I don’t think we’ll see prices go down, we won’t see them go up as fast. And that is better than nothing.

Really, the champ farming was driving up the prices of gems, making it so that those who don’t farm look at a steadily increasing price over the past few months. Look at this chart:

http://www.gw2spidy.com/gem

Zoom it out to see the price for all time. Notice how for most of the game, 100 gems was steady over time, with a couple bump ups. And now the price is raising in a linear fashion.

When you get 8gp/hr doing something boring and skilless, but doing something fun that requires skill gets you not even 10% of that, those who are looking to have some fun are forced to ignore the gem store completely, because each day they are making comparatively less gems.

I want gold to actually be worth something…and having less of it enter the system is a way to make that work.

You can always buy exotics from the trading post. Otherwise, you’ll get them as random drops. You could also craft them, but that’s more expensive than just buying them directly. One guaranteed way of getting your exotics is to run dungeons. Run a dungeon (other than fractals) 3 times and you’ll be able to afford one of the cheaper exotic parts. Run a dungeon 5 times and you’ll be able to afford the more expensive parts.

I wouldn’t try going for ascended weapons, but if you get one that matches your stats, all the better! There’s also ascended accessories and rings. Do fractals and at reward level 10 and above (even level fractals for the daily chest), you’ll get things that can be spent on the rings. Do dailies, and use some of your WvW tokens for your amulet. Do guild missions for your accessories.

Make sure you get a matching set of superior runes for your armor.

But really, you could get by with all greens (masterwork). I’d skip yellows (rares) entirely, and just salvage those for ectoplasm using the mystic forge salvage kit (look it up on the wiki if you don’t know how to make it.)

Heroism ‘boon’ will never make it in. You’re asking players to make themselves weaker to increase their rewards means that the other players around you have to pick up your slack. No thank you.

As for the changes to the medals, they are currently piggy backing on the threat system that mobs use. They’d have to create an entirely new subsystem to implement this. I’d rather see improvements to the systems they already have than create new subsystems since there’s already enough subsystems in play.

The reason you see only one or two groups is either because nobody is doing the dungeon, or because there’s a lot of people doing the dungeon, so they get filled up. It’s really easy to write ‘Story Mode’ or ‘P1’ or whatever path you are doing. Only the instance starter needs to have done story mode to open explorable mode. Of the improvements that are possible, this one would be mostly useless.

Been There: Done That changes.

Havvy.4897

Prior to the map rotation is prior to today. It was harder…sure, but now it’s easier. And that patience at the moment is just jumping through WvW once a week for three weeks. You don’t have to go to the enemy borderland’s territory, you just have to go to your own.

While this carrot got you into WvW, the majority will either see it as PvE scrubs scrubbing around (WvWers) or as an unwanted trek into a place where other players are encouraged to stop you from getting a 98% PvE title (PvEers), annoying all players in the process.

When I jump into WvW, I don’t like the fact that I have to cap PoIs and Vistas and leave the zerg, hurting the team — especially when there are queues, and you are blocking somebody else from being effective. And that feeling that you are hurting your side sucks.

As far as the ‘real challenge’, you can get 10 or 15 achievement points ignoring any one of the five parts. With this change, you can get exactly 16. The difference is miniscule…the points for the title are miniscule compared to the effort involved. There’s really no added difficulty between having a single achievement and a meta achievement that requires all sub-achievements. You’d still have to do effectively the same amount of vistas/hearts/PoIs/WPs/skill points to gain the title.

Havvy.4897

TL;DR: Break the Been There Done That title/achievement into five distinct achievements with a meta.

Here’s something odd: You can explore Southsun, but not get credit for the title/achievement. On the other hand, you *have* to fully explore the same WvWvW map three times to get it.

Why? Well, simple. The achievement/title was designed to encompass the beginning part of the world. As new zones were added, they couldn’t change the achievement, so they were ignored.

I find that a sad fact, especially if new zones are added. Instead, let’s change the achievement. It’s currently 20 points for this, so let’s split the achievement into five achievements each worth 4 points. Getting all the waypoints gets you 4 points. Getting all the vistas nets you another 4. If you do everything but the hearts, you’ll gain 16 points, and gain the final 4 from the hearts.

But really, while the title is nice, world completion really is an achievement that should give points. I’d suggest making the meta tracking this worth 30. Compared to the Living World, these are still difficult points to get! It would still be a small amount of points if you had to give out these points again by changing the achievement.

And if you keep the number of these things constant as you get new zones, it’ll allow you to create new content or change the world in a fundamental way by changing out hearts as time goes on, if you ever plan on doing that. Just go to the nearest 50. For hearts, this would be 300, for example.

For the world completion bar on the map, there’s a couple of obvious choices, each with varying pros and cons, but I’m sure Anet internal can figure out which is best.
