This happened to me today 18th of March, when I was doing my gathering and Hero point hunting. First I got Krytan Forager, then Krytan Vista Viewer and then “real” daily Orr Forager.

All my characters in this account are level 80’s. So I got some “ghost” dailies today done. So yes, there is definetly some bug in the dailies.

I don’t know is there any help from there, but here are the pictures from my daily page. These pictures are taken before I have done Orr Forager.

I want to raid, but I can´t find a group

Ilmatar.6709

My character is a Druid/Staff Ranger. I have fully Ascended armor and trinkets, but my weapon is not (yet) ascended. I wanted to try Raids and asked players in one map have they tried raids. They were and they told me how Raids are. It is only ment to most best players in the whole game. That made me see the truth. Raids are not for me then. I am old and bit slow time to time because of my osteoarthritis.

I was glad that those players told me truth about Raids and I didn’t go to ruin any players enjoyment in this game. I still have plenty to do in this game, even I can’t get that fancy Legendary armor. But that it is when you come old. You see what you can reach for and what is already unreachable from you

So OP, if you are young one (under the 60 years old), go for Raids, you will learn and you will progress and reach your goal. Don’t give up. Listen what other players are saying, try those thing what they advice you to do and you will get even better one, you will become The Best one Try to find good guild and they will take you with their raiding parties

This Mr. Sparkles was present from Anet, after we had bought specific amount of gems to the game with real money or with gem cards.

It was quite long time ago, when Anet still gave presents to those people who had spend real money for the game. Then they change system later for that log-in rewards.

No, I am not regret to pre-purchasing HoT.
At first when I went Verdant Brink I was wondering what a pile of s*** I have put my hand. But then I realize that if Anet would have only release new profession and it would have been cost that 50 euro’s I would have been buy it anyways. So I got those extra maps like gift with Revenant

I am totally happy that I have bought HoT.

My main character is stuck in Hoelbrak. I tried to port out from there to the Queensdale and then this issue starts.

First I got this error code:
7:0:0.990:101 The game client lost its connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again.

Second try I got this error code:
1083:5:7:1595:101 Network error. Please check your internet connection and try again.

I tried to load up my another character who is in Metrica Province, she did load up. Then I load up my main, and she load up too, but when I tried to get Wayfarer Foothills, these same errors occurred. And now it seems that my another character is stucked in Metrica Province too.

It has been ticked that I have done that fly over him and now my personal story says that Talk to Scout Acan. He is not talking back. He is too fond of his guitarr. This is blocking whole personal storyline. I am playing in NA servers.

My first impressions from Revenant

in Revenant

Posted by: Ilmatar.6709

Ilmatar.6709

Revenant is not bringing anything new to the game. It is like mixture of Warrior/Guardian/Elementalist and Necromancer at this moment. It is way underpowered. I know that it is unfinished profession, but still it should bring something new to the game.

Legends

Legends bring different variation of utility skills which are at this moment Jalis: meant to be DPS? Mallyx: Condition damage and Ventari: healer.

Jalis is not feeling very good DPS at all. It brings stability, what works really good, but DPS is not working as good as it should. It feels that foes are hitting me with frying pan and I am hitting foes with feather. Jali’s elite skill says under the information text: Rite of the Great Dwarf (5s): ((441252)). It should be done something, but it is hard to test is it working as intended if there is only a code in there.

Mallyx is working pretty good, but it feels too much like Necromancer with wells. Condition damage is stacking pretty good way, but still it feels that I am only spraying pepper gas to foes eyes and I lost all my powers to this action. This pepper gas makes foes to weap and more angry, while I am trying to get back my powers for next pepper gas usage.

Ventari is feeling bit too weak for healing. It is slow and even I put traits to support healing skills it didn’t worked very good. Regeneration what it gives with every pulse is too short and too weak. Condition removing is too narrow area. I really had to put that Ventari’s Tablet to stand on target’s head that condition remover was worked properly. It feels clumsy way mixture of elementalist water spells and Engineer Healing turret.

Weapons

Hammer feels way underpowered and really slow. I think it is made for DPS maker. Now the feeling is like foes are hitting me with Iron Hammer to the head and I am hitting them with knitted hammer what are filled with soft cotton balls. Yes it is only tickeling foes and I am getting beaten up with iron hammer. 2nd skill should creating cascading eruption of power to damage to foes. Now it is just creating cascading eruption of power and mild breeze is coming from the ground.

Staff is feeling underpowered too. Maybe it ment to be supporting weapon, but it’s 4th skill what should be healing, makes your knee ache go away, otherwise it is not giving aid at all. 5th skill is pretty good, but it should push foe even further.

Mace and Axe, finally weapon set what worked fine. Power was good, it was fast, it did damage and felt that I was beating up foes and giving them back what they deserve.

Summary

Revenant is totally unfinished profession and there is a lot of to do for it. It gives a feeling that there is a long way until this profession is ready. Yes, it is long and hard road to make new profession to fit with other professions. It is profession what copycat warrior, guardian, elementalist and Necromancer and their working models. Maybe there is coming more weapon sets and legends what makes it copycat all the other profession. That makes me wonder what is the new element what this profession is bringing to the game. It is not flying and poke foes eyes from above them and dazzle them, it is not using Mists powers and shifting between Mists and reality to make foes puzzled. If this profession would really shapeshifting to those Legends what they call for, that would be something new. If they could really shapeshift to Jalis Ironhammer, a stone dwarven, they would be really hard to hit. Or if they really shapeshift to Mallyx the Unyielding and using same skills what he used in DoA in GW1. Awesome. Or if they really could shapeshift to Ventari with all it’s weakness and powers. That would bring something new to the game. But now how this profession has been implemented, it makes a feeling that it is only made for because some of the playerbase have asked for new profession. It has been implemented lazy way.

“They should”, “betrayed by game”, “bad luck”, “should work like this”, “Everybody will get..”, “don’t feel so frustrating anymore” … all this sounds SOOO pathetic and poor.
I don’t know how this rightly sounds in english, but “I see the goal, don’t see any obstacles”.

I am sorry, I don’t understand what you meant about this. Should I change the grammar of those words for which you have quote?

Carapace Coat Box: Feedback & Suggestions [merged]

in Living World

Ilmatar.6709

At this moment, Carapace coat Boxes are dropping too few. It makes players feel stressed and it makes players hate this new event more and more. It does not feeling any rewarding when player don’t get even one Carapace armor box after hard work. It feels like they have been betrayed by game.

Situation at this moment how you can get Carapace coat box now from Vinewrath chest:
Randomly dropped from vinewrath chest, mostly you don’t have any Carapace Armor Box. Most of the time those players who are victims of bad luck feels really frustrated. It feels like that Vinewrath Chest is not rewarding at all. They feels betrayed by game.

This is my suggestion how Vinewrath Chest reward could work better:

1) All these Carapace armor boxes should be placed in their own table:

  • Carapace Headgear Box,
  • Carapace Shoulder Box,
  • Carapace Coat Box,
  • Carapace Glove Box,
  • Carapace Legging Box,
  • Carapace Boot Box.

2) There should be built some logic behind how that Vinewrath Chest is working. This logic would check out does specific account have all carapace armor pieces collected. And this logic should work like this:

Game check out does account have all Carapace armor pieces collected already

  • TRUE = all Carapace armor pieces are collected, droppings are working like at this moment
  • FALSE= all Carapace armor pieces are not collected, one dropping is taken from Carapace Armor Box table randomly, and rest droppings are taken from other rng table.

So those accounts what are still missing one or more Carapace Armor pieces from it’s collection, will be guarantee to have one Carapace Armor Box from Vinewrath Chest.

How it helps for situation:

  • It gives more hope those players who are beaten up by lady luck
  • It feels more rewarding, when you get guarantee to have one Carapace Armor Box every time from chest until account’s collection is done; even that Carapace Armor Box is not right one, next one might be that what you are hunting.
  • Event don’t feel so frustrating anymore
  • Everybody will get their Carapace armors collected

I am sorry my bad English, but English is not my native language.

I will attach 2 pictures in this post, to show up what’s the case:

  • Picture 1 is taken from my main account and it shown all Mail Carriers
  • Pictue 2 is taken from my another account and it shown that I haven’t bought any Mail Carriers, and new one I can not buy either.

And the Queensdale was empty

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ilmatar.6709

Ilmatar.6709

I’ve only done SB a time or two since mega-server came out. One was last week, and the event was heavily populated. However, world bosses occur every three hours. It seems likely that there will be some spawn times that will see lesser numbers due to player sleep and work cycles. Guaranteeing that any given map will always be heavily populated at all times is just not going to happen.

Still, the situation seems odd. Are you sure the three hour timer was right for SB to appear? I know that Svanir pre-events occur in Wayfarer Foothills a lot more often than three hours, but the Champ Svanir only pops on the timer.

That said, I have also seen relatively few players in any of the starter zones in the few times I’ve been there since the zones were nerfed. Taking away any reason for max level characters to be there (other than hanging with someone who’s starting) was guaranteed to reduce the population of the starter zones.

I checked out, and it was definetly SB time going on.

So there might be more populated map going on, but they were stuck in empty one. They didn’t have any tool or help to get more populated map. There weren’t any Taxi going on to more populated map. Maybe SB was even done in other map, if there were any. Maybe another map was full, and this map were made just for those guys.

I think they both were rather new one, so I think they didn’t even know how to use LFG tool either.

I remember how in Guild Wars 1 players were able to choose another district. That would be good tool in Megaserver too. So Taxi’s would not be needed if player could just choose another district/map and problem would be solved.

And the Queensdale was empty

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ilmatar.6709

Ilmatar.6709

All events can basically be done alone on that map with the exception of SB.

Some reasons why the map may have been empty:
You could have been on a overflow map meaning main population was on another map
No one was talking
Player population changes non-stop on different maps
New map + easy farming = everyone seems to be there.

Yes, it is true, Those poor fellows could have been in overflow map, but still it does not cure those guys bad feeling. It is not make them feel better. They were not able to move more populated map, if there was not even one kind soul who was taxi’ing people to more populated one. So they were stuck in empty one.

Even Megaserver is good improvement, it also shows unfriendly faces too for new ones in this kind of situations.

And the Queensdale was empty

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ilmatar.6709

Ilmatar.6709

This happened today at Queensdale:

I had really fun time in new area Silverwastes. I spent in there hours and did all kind of fun stuff in there. It started to be logoff time to me, so I decide to jump to the Queensdale and my character was loading up that map just in time to see conversation what was happening in the Queensdale map.

- Oh well, no SB today then. Here was only two of us in here, says one player
- What IS this SB, says another one
- It is this map’s world boss, but here wasn’t anybody, just us. Lets continue your hearts, I just wanted to show you something exciting in this map. Sorry about that…
- It’s ok…

Yes, in that moment I really felt bad. There were couple guys, brothers/sisters perhaps or just friends. Another one wanted to show something nice and cool for new one, and it never happens. I could feel his/hers dissapointment. I even taste it.

I had so fun in new area, and someone who was learning to play this game didn’t have so fun at all. Because there wasn’t enough players to do what they wanted to do.

I started to run that map around and what I saw, was empty, barren world. Nobody was in there. All the events were on, and no one was doing them. And that moment I think by myself: “Welcome to the game. I hope you enjoy it more later”.

This was a true story, unfortunately.

Facet of Light vs mesmer

in Living World

Posted by: Ilmatar.6709

Ilmatar.6709

I didn’t have any problem with mesmer with this Boss. I used Greatsword and beat this boss less than 10 minutes. It is just technique how you do it.

  • check out in what shrine that little foe is spawning,
  • Kill that little foe
  • Take shield on you from that shrine
  • Don’t hesitate to step on that deadly area, and use your sword, and put clones or phantasms on your utility skill too, and remember put clone death trait on, and that Boss is melting really fast.
  • Keep an eye when that shield is wearing off on you (blinking) jump off that deadly area and start over again

Simple and fast.

If someone forgot to feed that poor hamster in 64.25.32.82 and he died, please buy fast new one. New patch will come next week and if we can not log in the game because of dead hamster, it would be unreasonable that we need to buy that patch with 200 gems just because of these problems.

Seriously, it feels that there is broken switch somewhere. Perhaps there are a few switches that control sessions to the same address. And because one of the switch is broken, the part of the sessions is directed hopelessly into the broken switch too. I don’t know, I might be wrong too, but I have seen this kind of error before at working life and then it was broken switch.

But if this problem continues over the new patch release, are we going to be punished because of these problems and we need to pay 200 gems from it?

Most likely the reason, why your friend’s character get more xp is that his character is higher level. Now I am talking about his character’s real level, not downgrade level. In downgrade level you both are same, but in real level his character might be in higher level.

Wiki says like this:

“Experience gained is modified by the difference in the content level and your character level. This modifier begins with a base of 50% and scales linearly as the difficulty decreases. For example, a level 50 character completing a level 25 event will receive 52500 * .07 * .75 = 2757 XP. This does mean a high level character will receive more experience for the same content as a low-level character, but the percentage of a level gained is higher for the lower level character.”

Game Updates: Guild World Events, Megaservers, WvW

Ilmatar.6709

I do like Megaserver system in this game. Thank you ArenaNet for making it happen.

Before Megaserver system, this game felt like single player MMO. It didn’t felt MMO at all. But now, after Megaserver system, when I can actually see people around of me, doing the same events, and doing the same things what I am doing, feels really good. When I see that people are actually talking in map chat, no matter of the language, it makes this game feeling alive again. I don’t mind, if I dont understand every word what other people are talking, more important to me is that there is living and breathing game around of me.

What I would like to have in starter areas are more events happening. Starter areas are like a handshaking to the new players, where they learn game mechanics and system. That’s why it would be important, that those areas would running all events what have been made to the level 1- 15 areas. I know, that there are for example in Queensdale area that children query, Broodmother and Bull events what are not running in there. But if it is not possible to run them all together in technically, then it is ok.

I have seen a lot of QQ in here forum about this Megaserver system. But I hope that ArenaNet do understand that they can not please everybody. Megaserver system is good, it has given back life to this game. I know you all DEV’s are working as hard as you can do the best MMO game what have ever generate. This Megaserver system is one step closer to that goal.

Thank you ArenaNet, you have done really good job by giving us this Megaserver system.

When we have reach daily 10 000 AP and monthly 5 000 AP, do we still get xp reward from these dailies and monthlies even we don’t get any AP’s from them?

It is good way to me level up my alts when dailies are rewarding xp points too. So do we still have xp reward from dailies/monthlies even we don’t get any AP’s anymore?

As far as I can tell there are a couple challenges we are trying to overcome. First, we are trying to teach the community a new skill: self organization. And I’m happy to see that in the aggregate, they ARE learning. I’m sure as this process continues we will find better ways to accommodate the communication structures that will emerge.

I suggest that you guys, firstly teach the commynity about team work and then about self organization. Guild Wars 2 is a sort of single-player MMO in which the team work is rarely required other then dungeons and casual zergs.

So, teaching them first the self organization is like put in the wrong order.

It should go like this:

1. Redesign group events in open world so they require team work and not only zerg on the boss
2. Keep up team working, so ppl learn to play together and find same goal
3. ppl learn to play in a team and should start to trust each others
4. Make an event that requires self organization, and it works

example:
People want to kill the Troll in Queensdale
Boss mechanic:
After the Troll spawn and people zerg it, he will vanish and all entrances in the cave will have more trolls coming to flank to players. So they will be ambushed, if players kill these waves of trolls, the troll will respawn and stomp on the players, killing instantly various of them. Then he will rush out the cave being immune to hits thru a random exit of the cave. People would need to follow him thru other foes “bears”, “cows”, “spiders” until they reach it’s location. In here players can kill the Troll to 20 % of life. So at this point the Troll will jump large distances in specific spots and players need to kill it in 1 minute. This requires players to split up, in all the spawn points, to succeed the event.

- When the title becomes available, it will be use-able by all characters in the account no matter what race they are
- There should be 1 Major title for each race
- Example of titles:

- Asura: Lab Genius
– Sylvari: Champion of Pale Tree
– Charr: High Tribune
– Human: Commander of Seraph
– Norn: Hero of Hoelbrack

- Each major title will have 10 tiers, each having its own name (mini titles) which can be displayed only by the respective race once it is unlocked (remember the title tiers in GW1: Kind of a Big Deal, I am very Important, etc.)
- Earning tiers will involve doing various activities in the game like Personal Story, Jumping Puzzles, Crafting, etc. done with the specific race
- Example: Finish all JPs with a Charr, Finish the personal Story with a Charr character, Buy all cultural armors for a charr etc.
- These tiers can be cumulated with the achievements we already have as if you see above, finishing the story or JPs have already their achievements but they are account related not race related.
- So these “new” tiers will make these achievement more specific.

In this way there is not any auxiliary system added to the game but it will build upon the ones we already have

How can you level up fast?

in Players Helping Players

Ilmatar.6709

There is many ways to level up this game. Everything is giving you xp, even failed events.

1. Easiest way to level up, but not fastest way is doing Queensdale Train. It is profitable too. Good way to level up your alt characters and getting money same time. But it is not best way to level up your first character. I bet you want to see whole game.

2. Faster way, but not profitable at all, is doing all Heart Quests in all maps and all events what you see. In this way I have level up my character in 46 hours. And you can see the world and some part of the game too.

3. Not so easiest way, but not so fast way either, is doing map exploration same time when you are leveling. It is not profitable either. You will be level 80 when you hit level 60 areas. In this way you will see whole aspect of the game. You will see those beautiful Vistas, awesome places what are pointed with point of interests. I level up this way my first character and I haven’t regret it even one day

Because you are new player, I suggest that you would choose number 3 in your leveling up process. Easiest way is not always best way, if you really want to see what this game is, do exploration same time. And enjoy this piece of jewelry, what Anet have made to us.

When you have seen whole game and if you really get in it, and want to do alt characters, jump in the train and enjoy money and ride.

tequatl empty all the time

I can not say, that Tequatl is empty all the time… I was there. There was a one other player too but when he saw that there wasn’t anybody else than me, he left. I fight a bit, kill couple veterans alone, then they started to overwhelm me and I had to retreat a bit and then I took this picture.

Yes, I was there one hour before Teq started (Fort Aspenwood server), and hoping, just hoping the best. But when I was alone and facing this scale event alone, it was unpossible to beat it. No loot, only dirty hands and bad feeling. Same feeling what we had in a school (40 years ago), when teachers put us clean up roadsides in so called rag day. We cleaned them all up, we had dirty hands, and nothing else. They didn’t even say good work or nicely done.

I have tried this event since then when it came in the game, and I have always failed it. I haven’t beat it even once. Yeah, maybe I am just a bad player because I can not solo it. And now it feels that I will never able to do it.

Now I start to understand what really means to play MMO. Like one guy said, when I was telling him how lonely is doing exploration or leveling up your characters, because there is no one in there. It feels like solo playing game in MMO mode. He said to me that, it is Basic core of the MMO genre, you are not seing others. They are spread all over the world and nobody is seeing each other. So yeah, maybe this Teq is Basic core of MMO too, I just don’t see others around of me, or there are only those ghost players who have quit already.

No, I am not giving up yet. I will go tomorrow again to the Teq, just looking, if there would be someone else than me.

My top 3 will be:

1. Racial Titles
- Giving more importance to the races.

2. Add meaning to existing Personality system
- Giving more importance to Personality ( Charm, Dignity and Ferocity)

3. Order specific events
- Giving more importance to the chosen orders (Whisper, Priory, Vigil)

Ilmatar.6709

My suggestion is to have Racial Titles. They are account bound titles, which means they can be access by any character, only after they have been unlock. These titles can be unlocked only by playing that specific race.

- Each race have 10 titles to open. (Some of these titles have more tiers to open). When all of specific race titles are maxed, it opens 11th title what are something like this:

- Asura: Lab Genius
- Sylvari: Champion of Pale Tree
- Charr: High Tribune
- Human: Commander of Seraph
- Norn: Hero of Hoelbrack

When each of these races highest titles have been achieved (totally 55 titles, 10 racial from each race + 1 of each of these racial highest titles) there will be open one more title:

God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals 2

So in this way, Guild Wars 2 will have one most prestigous title, like Guild Wars 1 have. Which can be transferred to Guild Wars 3, if this will be out.

Guild Upgrade queue is not working

It seems that after 17th of December maintenance Guild upgrade queue is not working. Those guild upgrade queues what were end of progress are stucked. Those guild upgrade queues what were empty, can not start to building new upgrade to the guild.

It seems that stucked Guild Upgrade queues are preventing to use for example those Guild Banners what are already done.

Edit 1:
It seems that Guild Upgrade queue is working when character is in some town, like Divinity’s Reach. But when character is outside of town, a.k.a open world, Guild Upgrade queue is stucked.

CDI- Character Progression- Vertical

My idea in Horizontal and Vertcal progress is that the Order, what character have been chosen before, are giving tasks. And when character have been done these Order given tasks, character will get that reward what he/she has been chosen before. These tasks are repeatable as many times as player wants, only those DE’s are RNG in these tasks.

Example for reward what character can choose:

Order representative:
“What do you need?
- Ascended materials (only account bound)( minimum 5 and maximum 250)
- Legendary materials (only account bound)( minimum 5 and maximum 250)
- Karma (minimum 5 000 Karma points and Maximum 250 000 Karma points)
- Skill points (Minimum 5 and maximum 250 Skill points)
- Money (minimum 5 gold and maximum 250 gold)
- Experience points (for leveling)( minimum 50 000 xp and maximum 4 500 000 xp)
- Tokens (only account bound)(minimum 5 and maximum 250)”

At this time Character needs some Ascended materials. So he choose Ascended Materials from the list. Then there is opening new window where character can choose material what he needs (materials are only account bound). And he choose Empyreal Fragments.

When character have chosen what material he needs there will come amount window, how many of those materials he needs. (Same way with Karma, Skill points, Money, Experience points and Tokens):

Order representative:
“How much do you need this material?
- 5 Empyreal Fragments
- 10 Empyreal Fragments
- 50 Empyreal Fragments
- 100 Empyreal Fragments
- 250 Empyreal Fragments”

When character have been chosen how much he needs these materials, Order representative gives lists of the Dynamic Events what character needs to do to get this material. Larger amount of the material means more dynamic events from level 1 – 80 maps. (No FotM or Dungeon (meaning instances)), only dynamic events from the open world map.

By doing these tasks character is leveling up, getting materials what he needs, have to do dynamic events and get done also achievement points, (exploration, killings, using weapon and so on.)

This system requires, that all Dynamic Events are woking properly and are not bugged in any ways.

I am sorry that my English is so bad, but I hope you got idea what I wanted to share.

Kill the Queensdale champion train.

Queensdale Champion Train is wonderful, relaxing and you can clear your mind. It is peaceful, and this game does not have so much peaceful places after all.

I have level up most of my characters just opening maps and doing all hearts, and doing most of the events on the way. It is stressing, boring, lonely business. It is like playing single player game in MMO world. If I see on the road like 5 people on the same area where I am, that is lucky. In this way I earn like 8 – 9 gold on the road, when I do all hearts and most of the events. But when I jump in the Queensdale train, in a day I can earn more money. I just smash all white, blue, green and yellow items, and end of the day I will sell all those materials and get my money. I only save those exotics ones.

Most of all, I can see other players in Queensdale Champion Train, we are many, we have fun, but most of all, I can leave all stress from my sholders and finally enjoy the game.

So let the train go on. Those who don’t like Queensdale Champion Train, they don’t need to jump in. But those who likes it, let them have it.

Holy Trinity

To be fair, this was the narrow-mindedness of the playbase themselves fault, more than anything.

Ritualists were just as effective (and some would say even more powerful) healers as Monks, and plenty were always availiable due to the popularity of SoS builds for solo farming. Their protection was also less direct but in PvE no less effective than a Monks.

Then there was of course Ether Renewel Elementalists who could outheal and outprotect through sheer skill spam any other class in the game, the only real crux being enchantment removal but then this hindered Monks too.

There was also the Necromancer/Ritualist hybrids that were popular for heroes towards the end of the game’s major lifespan. This too boasted healing through brute force of strong health spells and limitless energy supplies.

Heck, as every class had an effective self-heal, if people cared enough to use it once in a while, and communicate with party mates a bit, even a Dervish or a Paragon could provide enough healing to keep a team alive (and at one point the Paragon could outheal pretty much anything, before it got hit with the nerf bat ten gazillion times).

But people weren’t willing to bring anything that wasn’t on PvX Wiki, and as a result most people sucked at build creation, which IMO is what killed all build variety and originality in the game. PvX was a core of rampant narrow-minded elitism. That’s what caused those parties to be stuck there for hours spamming LF Monk, not a lack of variety or options in gameplay styles and party makeups.

My favourite team in GW1 was and still is my grand hero team. I beat up with them all the missions, dungeons and I did all vanquishing too.

3 Necros (Healer, SS + heal and MM), 2 Ritualists (SOS and ST), Mesmer (Panic + heal) and Dervish.

I didn’t need other players anymore after these heroes. And I miss my heroes so much in GW2.

Holy Trinity

I think, Anet change this Holy Trinity only because Guild Wars 1 players asked it for. Everybody got frustrated because there was always missing one healer from the party. Tanks were always available but not healers.

When party was yelling LFG for hours just to get one specific monk, it really make whole group nerves tight.

It was very common in Guild Wars 1 that chat was full of this in DoA:

“LFG UA healer, HB healer, Imba, DWG”

Or in some missions chat was full of this:

“LFG UA healer, HB healer”

So players in Guild Wars 1 asked from Anet that they would forget Holy Trinity from GW2 and that’s what they fortunately did

Collaborative Development Topic- Living World

Living story has the same cycle all the time:

1. Players need to gather some things x amount
2. they need to go around of the world find things
3. they need to kill x number of foes
4. they need to do some Jumping Puzzle
5. and all ends a dungeon.

Usually that Jumping Puzzle and Dungeon stop a good amount of players to see ending of a Living Story arc, so they start to care less and less about it, because they know they will not be able to finish it. They will never see the end of the current story.

Players start to complain everything, because whole Living Story is too forseeable. Rewards are mostly useless, and players feels that they have been cheated.

It seems that those teams who are working with Living Stories have same concept what they use to make Living Stories. Well, they have such a hectic timetable how they could even invent something new and innovative in that time. No one can do that, but in a way they are underestimate players and their intelligence by doing so.

Solution for this is that those teams who are making Living Stories, should have more time to do those Living Stories. Let them throw those ready concepts away and use their own innovation, let them have brainstorms, invent new things with writers and whole Living Story would become more interesting.

Many people said that Halloween wasn’t in a game what they expected. Why is that? It is because of Living Story. Game is now like child who has too many presents. Every giftbox looks the same and all those giftboxes have same item in it. All those special events like Halloween, Wintersday and so on will loose their glamour, they are just a ”thing” amongst another ”things”. All special events have suffer inflation because of Living Story.

Zerging is getting ridiculous

I like zergs very much in this game. They make this game feel living when you do see other players around of you. Otherwise this game is like solo playing MMO, but these zergs makes it feel like truly MMO.

Guild Wars 1 was instance based game, where you could go to the world only with 4 – 8 party members. Guild Wars 2 is open world, and there you can play even with 100 players in there. Which is great. Those who dont want to play with other 99 players, should try to go for a while in Guild Wars 1.
