Auto-Attack cancels itself at maximum range

Even if the enemy is in range at the 1200 or 1500 limit, your auto-attack skill will cancel itself after 2 attacks. This has been reported by me before right after the game released (since I played staff elementalist) and hasn’t been fixed, ever.

-Server: Devona’s Rest

-Map/location: Anywhere

-Character info(level, race, profession): Any Level, Any Race, but only professions with range of 1100 or more. (IE: Longbow Ranger, Elementalist Staff.)

-How to reproduce issue: Get a character THAT DOES NOT HAVE A CONTINUOUS ATTACK for its spam ability (IE: Don’t use Greatsword Mesmer) and then attack something at the maximum range that the auto-attack will still attack on. Observe that the auto-attack will cancel after one or two attacks as if the enemy was out of range.

Also, even if the target is within in the 1500 range of ranger longbow, the auto-attack 1 skill will still have a red bar under it, meaning the game thinks the enemy is out of range.

Why is this a sticky?

Because one of my friends started playing Guild Wars 2 and didn’t even realize a daily system existed, even though they were level 80 for about 2 weeks.

there is no difference between 32/64 except the client itself… Of course all the game files in the dat are the same.

No, the problems are related to 32-bit architectural issues. So switching to 32-bit won’t help. The only thing that could potentially help me is forwardrenderer, since I use an AMD GPU and AMD CPU.

From what I understand, the 64-bit installer installs the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the game-ish. From what I can tell, the game is running a 64-bit client shell, playing the 32-bit game. This is a rather bad game development design, I’ll be honest. The 64-bit client should be a 64-bit client, not a 64-bit client running the 32-bit assets of the game.

If I wanted that, I’d download your 32-bit client, since the 32-bit client has PAE.

I’m one of those people who hates PvP with a passion. The thought of PvP badges of honor being used to purchase a legendary material still is a bit of an annoyance. I also have seen one day where two of the PvE dailies were in level 60+ areas.

Just had it happen again recently even after restarting the client. Again, only happened after prolonged use of the game. (IE: Even if the game sits on the character select screen overnight while I’m sleeping.)

Sometimes, after a long time (IE: 5+ Hours) of having the client open, the 64-bit client will have sudden lag spikes, and can sometimes cause weapon models to disappear.

Using maximum graphics settings. These issues usually are experienced on your 32-bit client however, due to being locked to single core.

It would be nice if people who actually can give a full answer (Such as staff, or people who have fully run raids to the end…) gave an answer. Sorry if this seems like I’m being rude, but a “As far as I know…” isn’t very, hopeful.

I haven’t seen anywhere on the official wiki that Agony Resistance is a part of Raids in Heart of Thorns, so I’m asking this here:

Does the new Raid system require the slotting of Agony Resistance?

I really don’t want to do all those silly jumping puzzles and avoidance things I simply cannot do in Fractals, even though I’ve done them dozens of times, I always end up having other people do them for me, since I fail them repeatedly.

3: If you’re dying in two seconds, then try running something other than berserker stats/select more defensive traits/utilities. It’s not considered to just a waste of stats to use defensive attributes in PvP, ever attribute it valuable in its own way.

I’ve tried that, I still die super easy in soloable PVE Content (Such as Pack Bulls in Silverwastes) even faster on WvW and sPVP. (IE: LB Ranger with Bear Tank and mostly vit/toughness/power exotics level 80)

I’m also not a fan of large rotations or tons of skills, so Engie/Elementalist are both out.

Play how you want? maybe, but not if you want a legendary. Now that PvP is planned as being mandatory if you want the new generation of legs, time to toughen our skin for that toxic environment of pvp. How I miss the good old time in Aspendwood. If you have objection to this requirement, as I do, nip it in the bud. Here’s a scissors.

You do realize current legendaries require badges of honor right? I have yet to receive a single badge of honor for not participating in any PVP, while some say they have like 3000.

In PVP, I do what I do in PVP, I shoot at people, and if I die, then I die, I literally have no skill, so I’m no good at PVP. I’m not willing to get better either, because I don’t like PVP. I don’t care if you’re one of the types who says “Well, Legendaries requires me to PVE, so I should be just as—” No. Talk to a free account user, who has to play until like 60 before they can do PVP.

Getting killed in 2 seconds on a level 80 character I raised up doing ages in PVE and getting good gear, is not “Fun.”

Are fractals worth it?

While I have to agree that lower level fractals are lacking shiny and unique rewards, the last revamp already added pristine fractal relics to sub level 10 fractal dailies (which is a huge improvement over the old system). Thus getting your ascended rings by level10 and 20 is assured and allows for smooth progression.

Anyone who expects fractal skins and or great amazing unique loot when just starting out, yeah keep expecting. I doubt this is going to happen.

As to rewards from fractals in general, they could use some beefing up, but I doubt the amount of upgrading needed to make people who don’t enjoy fractals to sudenly run them is viable. It’s like this: if you don’t enjoy the content, you’ll likely not enjoy it after running it 50 times more. Though the small exception to this is that fractals do get more challenging and thus more fun at higher levels.

Yet if low level fractals don’t get a substantial reward boost how many of the casual dungeon runners are going to do it? The more intense type of player will go on of course and get their infusions to handle agony, but your Joe Average Player who used to do a dungeon or two when he logged on to get a few gold and some tokens, is he going to push on to the level where he needs to pay to play, but still not get really good gold or skins as rewards?

The thing about dungeons you could be as casual as you wanted and still get decent rewards. This is pushing people who want casual, after work dungeons into something harder, and that might not be a good fit.

Casual runners may also not have the brain power to handle stack / hammer swapping on cliffside either. I know I can’t.

Just saw the new update on legendaries…and I just wanted to make sure I read that correctly…we will have to play WvW to complete our legendary item? This is so dumb!

For current core game legendaries you need “Gift of Battle” which is from WvW badges.

Considering free accounts need to play PVE for ages to play PVP, I don’t think the whole “PVP Players need to play PVE” thing works very well anymore.

I got 300 badges of honor, and all of them required me to step into WvW, I don’t know how others got badges of honor without stepping into any PVP.

“Maguuma Wastes” only counts the Silverwastes and Dry Top in terms of daily gathering. Some people I think may have trouble with that one.

Fun fact: Did you know that Guild Wars 2 was originally meant to be an expansion for Guild Wars?

That is not strictly true. What was true was that there was an campaign in the works named Utopia, which was scrapped and then reused for Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2.

The chronomancer for example was originally planned for Utopia, so where the Sylvari (but under another name) and the Asura.

From what I understand there was another name as well, something to do with Wolves or whatever. It would’ve added the dynamic event system to GW1 at the time.

The Zen CPU Architecture will use SMT, which Intel currently uses, allowing AMD to do single-threading as good, if not better, than Intel. The next consoles will likely use that… probably why Nintendo was waiting for NX?

In Final Fantasy XIV, Bots are easy to spot above ground if the botmaster doesn’t physically use the bots, since bots in FFXIV don’t actually input anything, so they stay in AFK Status even when jumping, or using skills. (Using a skill or jumping manually with actual inputs causes AFK Status to be removed.) Would be something if GW2 did something similar.

What is a bunker build, and how does it work? I haven’t played MMOs long enough to figure out that term. (I just know stuff like “Mitigation Healer” or “Mitigation Tank” and “Full Support Healer,” “Burst DPS,” “DPS,” “Damage Dealer” (Old “Burst DPS” Name I heard a lot of people use.)

I started playing at release day, but I didn’t do the seasons (neither of them) because I wanted to play other games at the time. I also barely did any of the Bazaar of the Four Winds and only got Tier 1 of “The Gathering Storm” in Flame and Frost (Yes, that’s the only achieve I got for that event.) I missed out on a TON of things.

The dragon ball tournament was too hard for me, so I only got 5/6 games won, and then never did it again.

Daily AP Limit

So, out of curiosity. How do you feel about this? Happy? Do you feel liberated from doing dailies or is this an annoyance because it’s harder to work your way towards the next chest anymore until more AP comes out?

I also hit the cap a while ago. I definitely do not feel liberated. I don’t really like the cap as I feel that AP are so scarce that there’s little reason to play my main account unless new content is released. I’ve been playing an alt account in the meantime.

That’s kind of what I figured. I’m still a fair distance away but when I hit the cap I’m not going to be a happy player. I really don’t see the point of the cap at all and I hope they reconsider this “feature”.

This was brought up when Anet introduced this hard cap, it never should have a CAP full stop, it was put in because to many casuals complained that they couldn’t catch up, or that it would be unfair to new players, so Anet decided to lock down older accounts,

This cap needs removed full stop, why punish the players who play and support your game, because someone who plays 2 hours a week cannot catch up,

Me personally when I hit the cap, I will stop playing, I don’t see why I should be punished because I play the game, ( I also understand some people don’t play for AP’s but me and some of my friends use them to challenge each other )

I would love to see an Anet Dev reply to this topic in regards the future or AP’s and the removal of caps.

I play 8 hours a day almost and still can’t catch up. I guess I’m just doing it wrong.

Since I’m no good at PVP, or jumping puzzles, my options are pretty limited as it is, we need more ways to get AP, rather than lifting the cap.

For instance, we could have AP Awarded on X gathering attempts. (Does not count ruined items.) For each type of gathering. I get no where near the cap:

GW2 is optimised so badly that it suffers even on a beastly rig. How do you figure the xbone could run it?

Are you drunk? Gw2 is easily the best optimized mmo I’ve played. This game was built for optimization.

It would also be amazing for PS4. But the problem with SONY is that they require PSPlus for games like this if they don’t have their own subscription model (See Destiny.)

FFXIV did a good job with ground markers on PS4, having a text overlay come up telling the player that they’re in ground targeting mode. (This is also on PC as well.)

I can’t see many MMOs going on console unless they’re shooters or TERA.

Another optimization the devs can do:

Actually un-render nameplates if they aren’t visible. Some MMORPGs actually render the nameplates, even if they are not visible, FFXIV does this, and it’s upsetting.

If you had suggested ‘to give an offer to a willing person to fight until downed’ then I might have considered it reasonable. That would allow 1v1 outside of WvW and hopefully reduce the numbers in there. To be honest they could make that free.

Pretty sure we have mobile deathmatch arena duel flag things. I saw someone using them in Divinity’s reach. I hate PVP, and if PVP is forced in PVE Areas, then I’m out.

World Map 500gem: Your character get all the WP and map explored but need to do all the quest -vista – POI just like beta character got.

500 gems is too cheap, and should not unlock 80-only area WPs like Dry Top / Silverwastes. Should be priced at 800 or 1000.

A 64-bit API upgrade to drastically reduce chances of crashing wouldn’t just be nice but actually standard by today’s gaming standards.

Combo balance

No because strategy is important. We could also add “Major” Combo fields, where if you use a combo field of the same type on top of another, the combo field is extended, and is more powerful (and becomes its elemental color, rather than white.

Now why does that sound familiar? Oh right, because it’s in Tales of the Abyss.

If you look to the right through to the next door, there are more black lion weapon traders past there too, not just in this “Mimic” room. (You can barely make out one of the NPC Nameplates.)

You can hover over the mimics to make them green if you go to third person and hover your mouse on them while the mimics are through your head, but they cannot be targeted.

Most of the giants you run across are undead, and any given mob can only count as one type, and the “Undead” type trumps the rest.

Also, as others mentioned they aren’t Giant*’s* Eyes, just giant eyes.
As in really big eyes, not as in coming from a giant.

And the only non-champ giant spawn is from the U.N.I.T Dynamic event.

Tyria needs trains

Okay …

Probably the only place trains would make sense is Kryta and Ascalon. Just look at where they exist the most (outside of routes between major cities) and the environs there.

Besides I think trains would offend the asura (both in term of WP competition and technology). It is hard to picture a sylvari being attracted to them too other being curious about any human thing.

edit: I am not sure how the Norn would react to them. A case could be made both ways. But certainly humans and charr would take to them.

edit2: BTW, before people start debating train routes I was thinking they are most often in western game genres. Although geographically it seems like there are most east-west trains in the US than there are ones that go all over the place, the main exception being the northeast corridor where you hit several big cities in a short route.

Any asuran not involved in dealing with the waypoints would also not mind them (Including Inquest.)

Razor vs Logitech mice, I need some opinions

Razer mice are inset, and can get dead skin easily caught between the buttons. Corsair has a reputation of its keyboards being outset, so they decided to make a mouse with buttons that are similar.

I have a Razer Naga 2012 currently, and lack of mechanical buttons is horrible. So I’ll be getting a Scimitar myself eventually. I’ve never been good with Mad Catz, especially back on PlayStation and PlayStation 2 when I used their controllers.

I bought the scimitar and went back to my wireless 2014 naga .

It just wasn’t what I thought it’d be. The number pad was too close to the bottom of the mouse, and I kept dragging my thumb against my mouse pad. The buttons require a lot of pressure to go off as well…

My 2012 Naga has my thumb on the mousepad too, but I have big hands :V I prefer mechanical buttons, and the 2012 naga doesn’t have those.

I prefer the idea of a massive train system with real departure and arrival times based on in-game time. I really love huge machinery, and how it can be implemented into semi-fantasy settings.
