Race change.
Race Change.
RACE change.
race CHANGE.
Rayse Cheiynge.
Rice Chinge.
Ruse Chunge.
rACe ChANge.That is all.
Please explain to the developers how you would change home instance attunement.
The only things that could work in terms of “Enemy” playable races, would be a very long backstory lore for a specific clan of those races, where they become friendly to the major races due to those clans being saved, or having more intimate relations with the other races.
And like above, races are mainly cosmetic, other than racial skills and skins.
As for what race I would prefer? I would prefer some form of lamia or succubus/incubus. But I know these won’t happen due to how krait and imps are. I’d prefer clipping issues fixed, and additions of “Very Long” Hair options where hair can go below the behind.
Elixir S Table -
Places a table with Shrinking Elixirs to allow players to shrink at will for 15 minutes.
Hug Emote -
Pretty self explanatory. (May cause asurans to become unconscious after being hugged by norns and charr :V)
Toy Transformation Pack -
Sets a table that allows players to transform into unmoving objects for a set period of time. Other players (and potentially NPCs) can pick up these transformed players, allowing them to be carried and throwing them around. Once the effect ends, you will be transported back to the last known platform or ground that is safe for walking on.
2H Hammer/Greatsword Warrior / Guardian. Since you want to force NPC enemies to target you since you’re closer. Doing more damage than him is a priority if you don’t plan to be ranged. Since there aren’t many aggro stealing techniques in this game, and aggro mostly relies on damage. (The alternative is to use revive cheesing, since enemies tend to go for reviving players over anyone else.)
And remember, if you two are new, to get “legendary” (the rarity above ascended) You need to map-complete Tyria, and get rank 14 in WvW (and 500 badges of honor for each legendary you want.) Or you can save up 3100 Gold and buy one directly :P
Unless that’s changing in HoT.
Edit: You could also try necromancer, I guess?
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
if both the HDD and SSD are SATA’d with 6 GB/s support, you won’t see much of a difference unless the RPM on the HDD is low. (IE: Below 7200.) The most noticeable differences between SSD and HDD aren’t in the data transfers (Unless you’re going to an entire system on SSD without an HDD, or an HDD system without any SSD, then the differences can be staggering.) The most noticable differences are in heat generated (SSD is less) and power draw (SSD is far, far less.)
avoid both Logitech and razer..they both have issues and poor customer service.
What’s wrong with Logitech’s customer service? I’ve heard, without exaggeration, nothing but good things about it.
Have you ever tried Wireless headsets from Logitech? They aren’t good for audio quality, because they use Radio Frequency for the Wireless technology, rather than Bluetooth or something better. This locks it to at maximum, DVD or CD Quality.
I’ll admit though, Unifying connectors was probably one of Logitech’s best ideas before bluetooth became more popular. Most support requests for Wireless headsets will just have them either tell you to RMA / return it to the retailer, or check drivers. Since they cannot do anything themselves if RF is at fault.
Originally, the GW2 community was pretty toxic, some of the corners of it still are. But I am glad to see people are helping complete strangers now.
This didn’t work for me before, now it does.
Great, glad you got it working the way you wanted.
The forum admins must have changed something before you tried it.
The forum admins have very little ability to adjust such things. What’s more likely is that your text had hidden characters in it, which counted towards the 100-char limit. The forum tech is convoluted enough that sometimes it adds those hidden chars when you try to save or copy or paste stuff.
Well, I put it in notepad before, and it still didn’t work, and notepad can’t use hidden invisi-characters.
Plenty of us have been asking for it for years and other games have it. I have bios written up in a word document but it would be great to have them online where everyone could see them.
I would argue for more than 256. That is less than two tweets. I typically write up a good size paragraph with everything from their backstory to what music they like.
They could always make a community portal with a website API that reads character information, etc. (Both WoW and FFXIV have this, while GW2 does not.) Your character is then tied to that login session, and the character has a unique profile page with all of its stats, equips, etc.
here’s an example:
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
Just wondering:
Does anyone actually know if the developers collect data on in-game objectives? For instance, in FFXIV, the developers have admitted (many, many, many times) that they know what dynamic events fail, what bosses kill the most players, what bosses are killed the most, what mechanics kill players the most (yes, individual mechanics.) And so forth. Basically…
They collect the following information:
- When a player dies.
- When a player survives.
- When a Dynamic Event fails.
- How a dynamic event failed.
- How many and Who was participating in the dynamic event.
- If X skill was used or not.
- What classes / jobs were used.
- If people were in a party or not.
- If the dungeon boss killed the players with the instant-wipe mechanic.
- If the dungeon boss killed the players with normal damage attacks.
- If the dungeon boss died, or not.
- What caused players to wipe on that dungeon boss, or not.
- What gear each player was using in each slot (Rarity, item level, stats, infused/materia stats, etc.)
- And lots, lots more. (Including chat logs for that dungeon at that specific time, with that specific party.)
In FFXIV, they also have a mechanic (on non-story bosses) that increases stats (Healing Power, HP and Damage) for the group if they die enough after a certain amount of dungeon time (5 minutes for instance for 3 wipes) this buff stacks after it first applies up to a certain percentage (5 >> 10 >> 15 >> 20.) Some hardcore dungeons start off at the highest stat increase as soon as the hardcore dungeon starts, due to it being old content that has useless gear.
I hope more developers do what FFXIV devs did though in terms of collecting data, so that they can adjust bosses, etc. accordingly for the lifetime of the game.

“Adjust Camera to Character Height — When unchecked, the camera will be placed at the same height regardless of your character size.”
This option doesn’t do what you want? It’s under options/camera.
This doesn’t work in first person mode. (IE: Asura FP Mode is above their heads for some reason.)
I was wondering about this. In FFXIV, we have a box that allows us to put in about 60 characters (plaintext, all characters count as one character, even unicode japanese) to write in a blurb for use in player searching. It would be nice if we could have something similar (and equally small in terms of character limit, since anything bigger than 256 characters would be too big for my tastes.)
That is however, assuming GW2 devs allow us to actually inspect people (Which they don’t currently.)
Please get rid of the timer so that the new meta will be cleric. Heal all day without having to worry about dying much.
You can always add instant-wipe mechanics rather than timers :V
And then what. All they need to do is avoid those mechanics and it’s an easy win. If you make the mechanics too difficult then you’ll have people complaining about how gimmicky it is.
This is why developers need to understand “Fake Difficulty.” As well as why it’s bad. I already mentioned some things about FFXIV in another thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/can-someone-tell-me-what-a-raid-is/first#post5582318
Since release of game 3 years ago.
And it fills me with determination, enough to try and figure out ways to make a healer Staff Ele. It isn’t as hard as trying to figure out ways to make an actual shield guardian that can keep aggro.
@ OP
teq is same as always.
the discription doesnt sound different for me . i guess your map was only not filled with the best soldiers of the pact
Please get rid of the timer so that the new meta will be cleric. Heal all day without having to worry about dying much.

Let’s see if it worked
EDIT: it worked for me … Your text has 97 characters, I don’t see why it is causing a problem, BTW in my sig options only the 1st one is checked, the rest is blank.
EDIT2: Is it a quote from Undertale?
This didn’t work for me before, now it does. The forum admins must have changed something before you tried it.
Funny, I’m looking at my copy of GW2.EXE and the PE header Characteristics is 0×0122 which translates as Executable (0×0100), Large Address Aware (0×0020), 32-bit (0×0002).
Not sure why it doesn’t want to go over 1.3 GB of RAM then =/ like during Frozen Maw.
I got the full key from the event, the contents of the chest were pretty much worthless.
The contents of the chest scale based on the level of your character, and have limits. For instance:
You should play what feels comfortable, don’t let people who auto-kick you for not playing meta get to you.
Staff Elementalist is pretty easy (Not great at kiting though) but anything else on Elementalist can get pretty hard, especially dagger.
Elementalist can also get a trait called “Aquatic Benevolence” I believe, which increases your healing a bunch. Staff is usually what you want to use if you plan to stay in the back, due to its ridiculous range and burst. keep in mind though, there are no real ways to draw aggro save for damage, so keep that in mind.
Warrior Greatsword/Hammer is also a good one. Since you’ll be rushing in anyway (Unless building rifle warrior.) here’s an example build if you want it for Warrior: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vJAQJARSjEdQZI2GC2dAnIG+BKtw7+uwWgAoBwb/wrBA-e
This is what I use for staff ele, basically: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWnMIC9MgtMA2NAsSgBBAheutaEowj6d7zA-TBhFgAAKBpV+Zq+zlGCA-e
Feel free to tweak them, and make sure to read skills / traits.
There’s also Minion Master necromancer, which is pretty easy to utilize, hard to level until you get at least two minions and 2-3 specializations: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vRUQNBIhZakhGarxuawpGYvxx0QMfuqkDFB0z7UA-e
You can use staff necro only if you prefer as well, dagger/warhorn is just there in case you need quick attacks really. (You won’t be using Death Shroud on this MM Build because you’ll mainly be DPS’ing alongside your minions. Death Shroud is only used for mitigation for the most part in an MM Build.)
Also don’t worry about the specializations provided by Heart of Thorns TOO much, I suggest first learning the base game’s specializations.
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
Thanks Donari.
Appreciate your response.
Can you also tell me which weapons/build is good for solo leveling a thief ?
For builds, you should play what feels comfortable, don’t let people who auto-kick you for not playing meta get to you.
I’m going to use my experience from FFXIV here, since I haven’t done like any fractals or story dungeons in GW2 yet (I did do Ascalon Catacombs and uh, default difficulty non-scaled fractal (and died, a LOT.))
In Final Fantasy XIV, they have different types of “Raids” one called “Raid” and one called “Alliance Raid.” Raids are 8-Player Party dungeons, which can be harder than even hard mode dungeons in the MMORPG.
However, “Alliance Raids” are catered toward more “Midcore” players, where you can participate with two other 8-Man parties alongside you. These massive Alliance Raid dungeons have bosses that require at least 4 people in each party to help with mechanics, or else the entire alliance raid will fail. These “Alliance Raids” have boss areas the size of one small party story dungeon in GW2 if not bigger. The Alliance Raids have the same difficulty as hard mode dungeons in FFXIV.
From what I’ve seen in the video teasing the raid boss, the game seems to be mimicking FFXIV’s nhard mode dungeons at the very least, which isn’t even considered a raid. However, FFXIV is choked full of “Fake Difficulty” (IE: insta-wipe mechanics if you don’t do something a specific way.) (If you don’t know what “Fake Difficulty” is, it means that the game has content that doesn’t conform to the genre’s original intentions. For instance, having FPS in a Traditional Turn-Based JRPG. These are usually done to make the player more determined to finish the game, and can sometimes cause massive frustrations.)
Certain dungeons in FFXIV have unique mechanics catered toward that specific dungeon, on specific bosses. For instance, in the “Alliance Raid” Syrcus Tower, the boss “Queen Scylla” forces all three teams of 8 to have people stand on three circle pads when she casts “Daybreak” in order to bring up a shield that prevents Daybreak from hitting the players. These pads can only be activated if players who are targeted by purple orbs (tethered with a purple line) bring the orbs to specific locations for the arena to absorb them and power the pads.
I doubt that these “Raids” will be as complex as the 3-party raid in FFXIV, but will still have some unique mechanic difficulties akin to the normal 4-man hard mode dungeons. If that is the case, they may become more popular than fractals, since Fractals have a lot of stuff that can instant-kill you if you’re in the wrong spot.
I still can’t beat Troll’s Revenge either, can’t even get to the first chest….
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
Just so you know, Guild Wars 2 is 32-Bit, and is not PAE Enabled, and the 4GB Patcher doesn’t work on the game client or EXEs. It cannot see more than one or two processor cores, and will not use more than 3.2 GB of RAM.
Keep in mind that the trading post dialog isn’t part of the game client, and is its own process as well. Regardless of load times, SSDs will always be faster than HDDs, no matter how marginal.
Also, PCIe is faster than SATA, if you didn’t know. I’d really like it if they at least enabled PAE Support on the game, or develop it for 64-bit support. Crysis 2 already has 64-bit support, and Crysis 3 is fully 64-bit compatible, so I don’t see why more games do it.
it’s no secret that we will be making the jump to 128-Bit soon. Both Skylake / LGA 1151 and AMD’s upcoming AM4 / Zen architecture also have support for DDR4 RAM, which means we’ll have by default 2100 MHz without OC’ing, rather than 1333 or something.
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
Some of those “Fun challenges” can be very hard if you aren’t good at split-second timed jumps (Troll’s Revenge for instance.) I’ve given up on it sadly.
if you plan to do the beer drinking minigame, be prepared for lots of disappointment. NPCs cheat, a LOT, and will often call out your bluffs almost instantly.
So yeah, basically what the G600, Corsair mouse, and Naga have.
It really doesn’t make a difference for keyboard, though, since you need to pull the keycaps off to clean them anyways.
The Scimitar has deeper grooves (much, much, much deeper, nearly double or more) than the razer naga. I know, I own a Razer Naga 2012, and have seen the new mechanical ones. The K70’s keyboard has no “Edge” I guess you could call it, instead of outset, all the keys can be pulled via finger instead if need be. (By working from the outside in.) This is nearly impossible on keyboards that lay the keys inset into the keyboard.
Try putting this in your signature:
* (A strange light fills the room. Twilight is shining ahead. You’re filled with, DETERMINATION.)
And only that, no line breaks or anything. Yes, including the asterisk.
And I’ve got no idea what you’re talking about with the “outset” mouse buttons. The G600 has the same exact thing as that Corsair mouse, as does a Naga.
“Outset” means deeper grooves, or a groove that goes straight to the bottom of the device, rather than having small flaps or parts that cover up the groove. This allows for easier maintenance and cleaning most of the time.
I’d like to know the lore behind this as well, because in Final Fantasy XIV, players are “chosen” by Hydaelyn, and thus cannot actually die unless their mission is over or their aether is violently ripped apart from their bodies. Normal folk (Such as NPCs) require a bit more tact.
However, Final Fantasy XIV’s Developer Team often break lore with redundancies, etc. (IE: Talk to Raya-O-Senna without being a magic user and without White Mage Unlocked, she’ll still tell you it’s an honor to be a white mage, which is against the lore stating that white mages are basically gone.) This is also apparent later in Heavensward when you bring back someone from the lifestream / aether ocean, who has the Echo, which is a sign of Hydaelyn choosing you.
So believe what you want. Developers make mistakes.
logitech mice last longer
the best affordable mmo mouse is probably the g600
I had two logitech mice quit on me in about 4 months each sadly. I wish I could believe you however. Also had a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 (Or was it 2011? I can’t remember, it was one of those two) stop properly sending Hs and Es, so I had to replace it with a Corsair K70. The outsetted design on the K70 really is amazing, and I can’t see myself ever getting anything (even mice) without buttons that are outset.
I usually don’t use meta, because I like to try and experiment with builds that I like to get them so tight you can’t change the build. For instance, this ele staff build:
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWnMIC9MgtMA2NAsSgBBAheutaEowj6d7zA-TBhFgAAKBpV+Zq+zlGCA-e
Since I don’t use dagger, I can’t use the trait for movespeed while holding dagger. Why do I not like dagger? Because I like being at range (Also why I won’t use tempest in Heart of Thorns.) Since enemies often run out of AOEs, Ring of Fire to me is usually useless, and 900 range doesn’t cut it.
Default command for switching keyboard input on Windows is Alt + Shift, try hitting that the next time you have your chat open.
Just so you know, ALT+SHIFT doesn’t show the language selection dialog, so you’d have to look at the language icon left of the clock. WinKey+Space however shows a list and you can keep holding windows key and pressing space until you select the right one.
Get to 80 and just sit around doing SIlverwastes for a few hours. I got 3 gold in about 3 hours just from mostly salvaging and selling items I didn’t use. If you don’t have Yellow-named gear at least for your level though, you may suffer a bit in the stat department when you go there.
Since I don’t have a meta build, I don’t do dungeons much because people might auto-kick me for not having an optimal build. I also die in jumping puzzles a lot, a-n-d a-m (This is apparently a naughty word according to the forums) not good at timing, so I also die in fractals a lot (yes, even the default no-scale difficulty.)
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
If it is anything like your current signature the hypen being used ( – ) has a chracters code which requires 2 bytes when encoded using UTF-8 (which is commonly used). My guess is the validation is counting bytes instead of actual characters. Try using the standard hypen – instead of – or some other separator.
Nope it has no special characters except ( and ) and an asterisk, as well as spaces and a period and a comma.
Name: Iyeru
Main Character: Saeko Meina, Lucradia Valeri, Psumiku, Iyeru Sea
Current Region/Server: Devona’s Rest (NA)
Interested Activities or specific things you want help with: PvE, Dungeons, Crafting, Gathering, WvW Scouting (Not actual PvP. I will usually die rather than fight someone.)
Active: Nearly every day for at least 8 hours.
Additional Comments: I can ramble a lot, and sometimes won’t even talk unless I am engaged in some sort of activity with you. I’m an avid non-microphone user.
Do you want to be a member of the guild Legion of Honour Y/N: I’m not even sure what this is. Since I guild hop a lot due to some guilds becoming inactive, I’ll probably say “maybe.” Just note I’ve already been in two major guilds, which have died out (Silvertree and Bloody Fenrir I think?) I’m not really into joining massive parties where people talk super fast, I can’t handle that kind of thing, and often do my own thing if someone does that.
Are you happy for people to contact you directly (whisper/PM) Y/N: Yes, definitely. Just note, while I do accept this, I won’t respond back with cute emotes, or anything silly. I take my gaming pretty seriously (As in, I love the story, exploring.) I won’t respond with vulgar words for the most part either.
Frozen Maw (With the over 80 players) will cause the FPS to drop dramatically almost regardless of system. I have an i5-4670K and an AMD Radeon HD 7950 with 16 GB of RAM (And the game is patched to see more than 3 GB of RAM using the 4gb patcher. But it seems like the developers thought of that, and it doesn’t work.)
Get to level 70+ First, and then attempt to map-complete Tyria. Explore at your leisure. Everywhere is a place I could potentially enjoy. Because, all of it… fills me with DETERMINATION.
Go for the Corsair Scimitar: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826816047
Razer mice are inset, and can get dead skin easily caught between the buttons. Corsair has a reputation of its keyboards being outset, so they decided to make a mouse with buttons that are similar.
I have a Razer Naga 2012 currently, and lack of mechanical buttons is horrible. So I’ll be getting a Scimitar myself eventually. I’ve never been good with Mad Catz, especially back on PlayStation and PlayStation 2 when I used their controllers.

(Foreword: My current signature is being replaced, so I’m not adding to the current one you see below, ignore that.)
I attempted to put a signature line that is 97 characters long, but the signature editor says it’s more than 100 characters long. Why is that? How do I know the line is 97 characters long? Because I put it in twitter, and it said I have 43 characters left. So Guild Wars 2 seems to be counting something it shouldn’t.
Error:
Signature original does not follow the line limit! You are only allowed a maximum of 100 letters per line.
Also, I put an asterisk before the line, so it may be thinking it needs to place a bullet point, if that’s the case, signatures should have formatting disabled rather than giving an error, and allow us to use asterisks.
“You wont loose anything by bringing it there”
Yeah, except for money that is.
Steam always takes a cut of everything being sold, including gems.
It doesnt work like that, Steam doesnt take the money that Guild Wars 2 would sell from the in-game store. Only if they brought extra gem-dlcs on the steam store and people bought them from there, only then valve would take the 30% of the money otherwise the in-game marketplace is completely seperate from steam/valve
Steam takes money if they use the steam service for in-game purchases however (IE: If they want people to use steam wallet, (and by extension bypass ANet’s buying restriction systems, IE: Making it easier to buy gems.)) I am completely fine with keeping GW2 off steam, it’s not like you’d be able to link your current account to steam anyway so that you don’t have to re-buy the game.
I haven’t found a setting in-game for this yet, but it would be nice to have a setting that disallowed clicking on the ground to de-target whatever you are targeting. FFXIV has this, and it’s an amazing setting for me.
Oh, I am so glad that the WvW maps are no longer needed. But, we’ll eventually find out I suppose if it’s true.
And wow, a lot has changed. Hero Points instead of skill points… and the new way traits are unlocked.
I like enjoying the games for the story and the world itself. I’m not big on Player Versus Player either. I’ve never been fond of big guilds in MMOs, and prefer smaller ones. I also sometimes like kicking back and gathering nodes as well.
I’m not good at stealth, timing or platforming either so…. I’m trying to currently finish Tyria world map completion on my guardian, with only about 10-20% left to go I think. I’m almost done with the Wv3 maps, just the far right borderlands to go.
Just wondering what advice I should be getting. I don’t like building specific builds for end-game content (Such as fractals) and prefer to try out builds on my own time for instance, and I know a large part of MMO communities don’t like it when people don’t abide by “OP” or “The best” skill sets in the game for a particular class.
I was never able to do Season 1, so I have nothing from it, nor do I have anything from Season 2. I left before Season 1 even started so…. I also don’t have legendaries (I think) and have a level 80 with no fractal gear :P
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
It’s probably meant for people who have a lot of money on hand saved up and to stop them from obtaining tons of gold in a short amount of time, or gems, vice-versa. Some MMORPGs do it to disallow potental for pay2win aspects. And before this turns into such a topic, I’ll explain the two types of pay2win to get it out of the way:
Indirect pay2win – This is where the publisher allows real life money to be exchanged for in-game currency directly or the use of cash shop items to be traded for in-game coin. (See Neverwinter, GW2, etc.) Publishers attempt to curb this by changing amounts of the exchange themselves, or altering the exchanges directly via database, or change the amount of cash shop currency you get, or, like above, block the user from buying in the first place.
Direct pay2win – cash shop items have stats that give an edge in PVP / etc. (See Ragnarok Online 2, Browser MMORPGs, etc.)
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
You guys should also submit tickets if you haven’t. Apparently there was a buying restriction placed on my account, disallowing the game to actually make the transaction at all. Also, buy.guildwars2.com had some backend maint. So confirmation e-mails may take 5 Hours.
Were they from another server?

So, what does this mean? Tried to Purchase Gems, with Visa Debit, got this. (I did it three times over the period of an hour, so hopefully I won’t get triple charged.)
Request Number 1269616 if any staff needs to know that.
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
I already experienced a “Guild War” system in a game known as Ether Saga Odyssey. The guild wars system forced users in those guilds to PVP against the warring guild, regardless if they were in a PVE Channel or not. I would suspect that GW2 would lose a massive amount of players in an instant if that were to come out here.
