Another suggestion since this didnt seem to take interest.
At the very least, make the description tell me if another one of my characters already know the recipes.
Indeed.
I am not saying all items have to be able to be un-binded, but I believe there are some that really don’t have to be.
Disallow account items to be unbinded that you use actively, such as legendaries, ascended, acheivement items, certain materials for the mystic forge.
No, because we had that in Perfect World International, and it wasn’t a good thing. Threads started popping up for re-binding, which obviously you could do for free (But un-binding cost real money.)
And it’s EXTREMELY UNLIKELY they will let you unbind something without you having to pay real life money for it.
Some items HAVE to be account bound (Such as daily chests, etc.)
I have to agree with Dave here.
I am Iyeru, and I am not making an I approve of this message joke.
No thanks. I don’t want even more content permanently gone from this game. Forget about (non-existent) continuity and leave it as is.
Indeed. I didn’t even get to play any of LS1.
New PLayer Experience Introduced in the September 2014 Feature pack. Give it a google.
Also your specs are super close to mine and GET AN SSD! :P
I can’t, I need to get a new computer. My case is too dusty, and the Intel fan is a stock fan, which means it heats up like crazy, and the GPU is dying, Sound Card (Motherboard Integrated) is also dying and the DVD Drive is over 5 years old, the Harddrive is having Sector Errors.
As for the NPE, I know what you mean now. So basically these things:
— Disallowing players to turn into a golem in the asuran starting area for that one Heart, instead forcing the golem to be an NPC that follows you around.
— Removal of the RC Golem Mini game.
— Removal of water buckets from that farm in Queensdale, which DISSALLOWS YOU TO REPAIR / HEAL THE HAY BALES IN THAT ONE DYNAMIC EVENT AS A RESULT.
I could go on.
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
What the heck is NPE?
Did you know that most of the east coast went out of power? This gave me problems when trying to login to games like FFXIV, which have servers in Canada’s east side. Guild Wars 2 seems to have similar problems, at least for me on Devona’s Rest (Since DR should be “US East”)
So when is the weekly reset when the maps change, if at all?
If you are doing map completion in wvw while the maps have queues, you will rightfully be told to GTFO.
No. This is anet’s own fault for making WvW part of world completion. As a PvE player, do you think I liked going to that toxic cesspit?
Indeed. I still need to wait for Devona’s Rest to go blue so I can get some POIs and Vistas in keeps / towers.
Because all I need is Blue’s Borderlands: http://i.imgur.com/nHe095b.jpg
If not, when will it become blue? Because right now ALL of these keeps, towers, camps and garrisons for Blue’s borderlands are FULLY upgraded. No one wants to help at all either.
meantime, I’m going back to PVE to start completing those maps again.
What level are you? And have you gone into the Orr areas?
Note that the prefixes mean what stats they give.
Are you sure you’re comparing the same level and rarity between the heavy and medium when you did compare the two?
Might want to edit out names in those screenshots.
I’ll just remove my post then, I’m not doing that.
What is SW Farming by the way? Also what if I hate PVP? I’ve never done a fractal before either, and have no craftings above 100… I also don’t have any guildmates who will do dungeons really, and don’t like voice chat or bigger guilds anyway.
What do I do then? This isn’t a troll or sarcastic post either, this is a GENUINE question / post.

Since I use vsync otherwise my CPU goes mental, up to 60 FPS.
You can get 30g a day without doing anything hard. If you don’t want to invest a tenday into getting your commander’s tag, you don’t deserve it.
Okay, tell us what we can do to get 30g a day?
I don’t really buy boosters either, I usually only buy outfits, minis, perma gathering tools, bank expansions, or in-game coin
Mobile can’t be the future if the processors are ARM based, at least if you don’t plan to port to Linux or iOS. Because the Windows version of ARM can’t run actual Windows programs unless they’re made for the ARM Architecture. (This includes Guild Wars 2.) If people think they won’t do a Mac Port, they won’t do a mobile port either.
Intel is making some pretty decent strides in that sense. Their mobile processors are fairly powerful for their power consumption. It’ll still be a long time before mobile platforms are as powerful as desktops, and powerful enough to run games without much problems.
performance and power aren’t an issue as long as the issue still is that the architecture =/= x86 or x64
I’d like to make a suggestion to auto-targeting:
— Allow us to use a slider to determine the cut-off range of Auto-targeting.
— Disallow auto-targeting to target monsters off screen. (Even if they’re half on screen)
If it were optional sure. Because I already experienced this with FFXIV, and not only were hotbars character-side, but a lot of other things were too that you wouldn’t expect to be character-side. it was a bit unnerving to have to re-position all my HUD / GUI just because I created a new character. Thankfully, FFXIV allows you to be every class/job in the game on one character.

Kits and that some skills require you to stand in place to use, and will cancel mid-way if you move mid-way through the cast (Such as the rain of arrows on longbow.)
The reason why stuff like “Combo Fields” didn’t “Confuse” me was because I played games that had them, and they were OFFLINE RPGs, such as Tales of the Abyss for PlayStation 2.
Hopefully he will work on something other than Destiny, another shooter, etc. We need more WRPGs in this world that actually work as WRPGs.
The alliance raids in FFXIV are the only type of raids I’d be willing GW2 to have, mainly because the scale of the raid arenas / bosses are massive, like, open-world town sizes. Plus, they’re extremely easy to deal with if only a couple people mess up.
Make it so that gathering points that give “Ruined” Items count toward the daily. (IE: If you don’t have a high enough gathering gear to gather from that point.)
X Veteran Kills (Not just event veterans, but open world ones just standing around.)
Worldly Traveler (Traverse X Distance on foot without using a waypoint, skill, swiftness, teleporting, utility or glider. Changing areas is allowed. Counter will stop and resume when effects of skills, swiftness wear off. PVP Areas do not count.)
Make Champion Events rotate through champions that are less killed in the world of Tyria (Such as the Champ Krait Witches)
Gathering ruined ore counts. I’ve mined iron on my low level char with a copper pick and had it count towards the daily.
I tried Orr Foraging with a low tier sickle, it didn’t count at all.
I have to completely PUG Fractals if I ever attempt to do them, since I’m not into big guilds (IE: Ones with over 20 active/online members on at a time)

I haven’t replied to this thread since I made the opening post I believe, I think it’s time for me to chime in on this whole debacle. I’m happy to see people from both sides debating this and throwing verbs of all kinds at each other, but that’s not exactly what I wanted here, well, I kind of did, but at the same time, I didn’t. Mainly because I already knew lots of the replies from the opposite side I would get here.
Just so people know, when you run an application in Wine on Linux, you actually are using OpenGL, mainly because Wine dictates DirectX methods to OpenGL in a way that OpenGL can understand. If you really want something that gets on the level of DirectX, you should try to follow the people developing ReactOS: http://www.reactos.org/ While I got banned on their forums for reasons I will not discuss here, they are a great group and aspiring to do something that the Open-Source community has always really wanted to do, make something for everyone to use, but for free and open source. In this case, ReactOS is developing a DirectX for themselves, considering their entire OS is basically just Windows but reverse-engineered clean-room. The difference with ReactOS and Wine though is staggering as well. Why is it? Well, basically, if you’ve ever used Linux before, you’ll know that some hardware just doesn’t work well on Linux, specifically printers, scanners, etc. You can find out more about the incompatibilities of printers/etc. over at Open Printing: http://www.openprinting.org/ ReactOS allows you to install those windows-only drivers however, because ReactOS does Windows on not just a software level, but on a Kernel level as well.
This does NOT mean that you should put all your chips on ReactOS though. Linux is an amazing alternative, and should be well sought after, especially when so few issues occur in Linux, and if there are, they tend to get fixed rather quickly. That said, people who scoff at a linux release mainly because it’s simply easier to do a dual-boot don’t realize how expensive it is to buy a full retail copy of windows. Maybe they do, maybe they don’t. Windows didn’t come with my computer, so I had to buy a copy for 199.99 USD (Plus tax, that’s over 200 USD at 5.5% in Wisconsin.) I’d rather my OS be free, and it would be nice if people went out and researched the whole war between Apple, Microsoft and Linus. It’s a real Eye-opener to see that Apple and Microsoft founders originally worked together, but split.
Portability reasons aside, OpenGL is a far better choice, even on Windows. Why? Because OpenGL versions are updated through drivers, not through Microsoft. Ideally, this is the best way to update a runtime of this magnitude, through your graphical drivers.
Also, I will have to start saving for a new computer in the near future, it will cost me from 1200 to 2200 USD or so to be relevant in PC Gaming for games I want to play, and some of that high price is thanks to me needing to buy a copy of Windows, since I’m currently using release previews / evaluations. (My old windows Discs were lost, and I don’t have the key anymore, so I cannot request a new copy. Plus, I reformat my harddrive every 6 months or so.)

2) If you spent 10 gold, you’ll get 9 gold back, if you don’t get lucky with getting some extra things, but the amount of gold requested and the possible return is just all about luck/rng, but remember you are never forced into buying them. However; I can understand that some people may find this frustrating.
I spent 1 gold, and got barely half of that back, so I must’ve been REALLY unlucky.
No, a thousand times, no.
Many of us came to GW2 to escape that very thing.
Why are you so haunted by raids? It’s not going to be a conventional raid.
Before you reply, please read the previous posts that I’ve made on this thread. I’m naturally curious.
EDIT: This goes to others as well. Don’t just say “No.” give an explanation, but before you do read the posts that have been made on this thread.
Okay fine. Here’s my explanation on why I don’t like raids:
Raids don’t actually NEED to exist. They’re just there to provide content that a large amount of players can enjoy together. The problem is, not everyone has a large amount of friends to do this with. Raids were meant to test teamwork on larger scales, and having to PUG that is a bit awkward at best.
Healing classes suffer slightly in raids, especially raids that have more than 8 players in them. Why? Well, if you’ve ever played Ragnarok Online 2 and decided to go in one of its raids, you’d know that you had to deal with three parties of 6-8 players or so, and there usually wasn’t 3-4 healers, so it ended up being a clusterhell of people getting damaged and healing certain people who actually needed heals was annoying, especially when other people were healing those people, and you didn’t know who to heal and who not to heal.
Coordination decay. Like I said above, raids test large-scale teamwork, but, the more people you have, the more conflicting interests become a problem, causing coordination decay. Let’s say someone wants to go X direction rather than the fastest direction, usually if they have friends who joined the raid, those friends will tend to side with that person. This can cause an argument, and some players who like to speed run may end up killing the entire raid by forcing the players to fight something by going on ahead of the team and pulling an enemy to the raid group. I’m not a fan of speed runs, and never will be.
Hardcore / Elites VERSUS Midcore / Casuals. The age old war between hardcore and elite players and the casuals/midcores really shines when discussing raid, and even playing said content. The reason why hard / extreme / savage content (Including raids) exists is because these elite and hardcore players want to be who they are in comparison to the midcore and casuals. This can cause problems for players who just want to explore the lore / places of the game. This is precisely why Final Fantasy XIV Developers are developing a “Story Mode” version of The Binding Coil of Bahamut, the hardest “Raid” in their MMORPG. I don’t like this war, and if you’re an elite, you shouldn’t either. What if ALL the midcores and casuals left? what do you get? About a 500-1000 players on the entire megaserver at any given time? That’s not a serious MMORPG anymore.
I could go on and on and on about how Raids could negatively effect the balance in community, but I won’t.
(Also, HEY GW2Forum, why don’t you use list bbcode like vbulletin and phpBB does?)
I really miss how weapons and skills worked when the game first came out. Find a weapon your class can use? Use the weapon. Want new skills? Use the weapon. Only snafu was underwater weapons. That was tedious as I am not a fan of underwater combat. Other than that, I hate everything being so stringently level locked. I mean, first level all you get is auto attack and heal. That is insanely boring and doesn’t show off anything of how the game is.
Indeed, I liked that about the stuff before they locked skills behind level gates. Also the old “Tedious” Heart filling tasks should also be brought back, not a joke either. (Besides, you can’t put out flames from that hay fire event anyway thanks to devs doing that.)
Events that get stuck require the server / map to be restarted sadly, as I’ve seen countless times replied by staff.
Acheivements are account-wide, this includes deleted characters. (IE: I have a character who had 41% Tyria Map completion, but deleted that character, the acheivement still knows that character had that amount.) I had minions on deleted characters before the whole account-wide minion system as well, so I lucked out and never will get my digital deluxe minion again either.
It could be that you forgot you did them, or like you said, it was awarded by purchasing something, doing an event you forgot about, etc.
I only got the things from the daily too, and champion medal tokens don’t seem to be awarding. (I was assuming champion medals were for people who topped their team rank, since I normally never top 3 in any PVP of any MMO. But when I somehow did in one match, I noticed it didn’t… so yeah.)
Perhaps there’s something wrong with your internet connection? Patch took me around 2 min and I only have average speed for my internet. Maybe there was a glitch in the download?
Another player linked it stating “Don’t click it” and a few others yelled at that person for crashing their client.
Yeah, I did the daily this one day, and this day only, I’m not going to bother with the event anymore unless they add PvE stuff to it.
I would like to know what the update added too, and WHY THE HELL DOES “HOME-COOKED NOURISHMENT” CRASH THE CLIENT WHEN HOVERED OR CLICKED?
(edited by Iyeru.5240)
No thanks. Mainly because I’ve had enough of games with 10+man dungeons.
I just noticed, after they took out off-hand and made it unlock at level 7, you now have a dagger as your tutorial weapon, can you either change it back to a 1-Hand staff or a two-handed staff? Dagger is a bit awkward for elementalist early on.
If the devs go quiet for months in a nexon game abandon ship before it sinks.
NCSoft rekt City of Heroes, Aion, Lineage ][ and many other stuff.
For me, both are worthy each other.
I couldn’t get into Aion due to open world PVP :V So that’s an MMORPG I won’t even count.
More long hair options for females (Including sylvari.)
It’s mainly because GW2 actually uses a heavily modified GW1 engine. Why? Because GW2 was originally planned as a new part of GW1 (The dynamic event system mainly.)
1. No Raids
2. Allowing us to zoom with scroll wheel while holding right-click.
3. Engineer turret skill fix so that they can become perma summons again.
4. Make an entirely new engine for Guild Wars 2, because using the old one just heavily modified is meh. Up texture resolution slightly, better character models and detail.
Hopefully never.
Same.
PVP is what earns you trans charges the fastest from my experience.
Maybe it ain’t actually faster than map exploring, idk. Maybe it’s just that time flyes by when you’re having fun in pvp, compared to boring repetitive map exploration.
I hate PVP with a passion, so I have to rely on map exploration. If I do PVP, I do bad enough that people can yell at me if they want to. I usually end up on the losing side in sPVP regardless of my skill. (Can’t even solo Sentries in WvW, and I don’t even know what Ruins in WvW look like.)
My biggest gripe is probably that I can’t zoom with mouse scroll wheel while holding right-click.
I want them to change back Turrets to perma summons and actually FIX the skill button rather than setting turrets as temporary as a workaround. But that doesn’t mean I’ll get it :P
