We also just encountered this. 4 of us got over 500 combined twice in the 30 min window and it still failed.

I expected the Druid to be a healer, but man they went all in on it. I was hoping there would be options to make Druid builds that focused more on control and possibly some damage, but man it’s just not there. If you don’t wanna use the staff and be completely focused on healing than there’s no reason to take Druid. Maybe some of you will come up with a build that’s not 100% healbot. Oh well, I’ma be playin my Reaper when HoT drops anyway :P

New pets are awesome though.

If we can create a 10 man party for the raid then we should be able to do it in wvw. Unless of course, it’s just two 5 man parties, which would be terrible.

If you don’t do the raid then you don’t get those particular legendarys. If you really love the shiny then put in a lil effort and go for it.

I’m a lil worried that Ranger and Engi won’t get enough beta play testing, but I’ll wait for them to announce a release date before I start kittening.

Does it have boon share?
Fury, Might, Regen from pets. Swiftness, Regen from shouts off the top of my head
Does it have group condi cleanse?
HS, SoR, Brown Bear
Does it have teleport mobility?
No.
Does it have superior sustain?
Depends on the build. Condi/Regen bunker and evades can offer quite a bit.
Edit: And SoS, geez how can I forget that one.
Does it have utility?
Somewhat, with pets.
Does it have great damage?
Depends on the build, but yes they can.

Now I’m not saying this makes them meta or anything, but let’s at least acknowledge they do have access to some of these things.

Why do you even care what kind of rewards are given out in content you’re not interested in? It’s not like the rewards will have better stats, maybe just some exclusive skins. Our gear is basically little trophies of our in game accomplishments, and everyone has the same opportunity to achieve those in game trophies, but only if they decide it’s worth their time and effort. If I decide it’s not worth my time and effort I move on to something that is. I don’t get angry or feel cheated because I choose not to pursue it. So again, why do you even care what rewards are given out in content you’re not interested in?

this has been brought up before and I’m not fan, for similar reasons as slingblade and bloodpyrope. I’d rather they put a dodge on f3 and give the pet it’s own endurance.

Looks like a nice build. I run something similar. I do think you would benefit more if you take the blind and taunt for your pet. You can spam the blind with the eagle. I would also suggest taking the wolf instead of the spider. Cripple, knockdown, and fear, it’s really good in spvp.

See spvp is a team game and why should the team suffer just because someone can’t get over themselves put on their big boy pants and just finish the kitten game. Obviously if they are that upset then a timeout is in order.

About MDG, what I meant was, if you stay below 50% health, do you just keep stacking might indefinitely.

I don’t think you’ll get past 8 stacks, after 8 seconds the first stack wears off when a new one is applied. Now if you have a lot of boon duration you might be able to get an extra stack.

I would love to see some TF2-style overtime.

If either lord is being damaged when the timer runs out, push the match into overtime with 15 seconds on the clock. Once the lord stops getting damaged, the 15-second timer begins to run. If damage occurs the timer goes back to 15s; if the enemy team cannot damage the lord again within 15s the game is over.

This would be great. It would make for a more satisfying and climatic ending. Clear the threat from your Lord or risk losing, simple.

I get what you’re sayin’ Tigaseye. I’d wager that all of us have been there, I know I have. All I’m saying is a part of leadership, which is what they choose to do when they throw up that tag, is using what you have to achieve the mission. If they’re running a guild group then that’s different, but if they’re leading a pug militia and start complaining and demanding people to play their way, then people just start to leave, and you can’t accomplish the mission without soldiers.

Yep, and any commander worth his salt would know how to utilize his assets on the battlefield to maximize their efficiency. Maybe it’s just SBI, but I’ve never seen one of our commanders baggin on any class, and I’ve played a lot of WvW.

What evidence do you have that further supports ranger is easy to play? We all have opinions, so some tangible numbers would have to be the tiebreaker.

For my evidence that you are wrong, I am going to use the example of the WTS tournaments. Of the top 40 professions represented, there have been, rough estimate, I don’t remember the first Chinese team comps exactly but…

Elementist: 8
Engineer: 8
Thief: 7
Guardian: 5
Mesmer: 2
Necromancer: 1
Ranger 1

Like I said, the numbers from guardian up might be give or take 1 or 2 but for sure Mesmer, necro, ranger are where they are at. By this I would have to say ranger is apparently significantly more difficult than warrior.

Pretty much this. Everyone’s experiences in spvp differ. So we have to look at the highest level for a consistent metric in what classes are capable of. If a class and build are not regularly represented at that level, then logic would suggest that; (A) That class/build is not as easy to master, and/or (B) It is not especially effective at that level.

Personally, they are going to be way OP. The trait that heals you for around 600 health when you have a condition applied to you, combined with the Legendary Demon Stance, will be absolutely insane amounts of healing. Not to mention the fact that you have 2 heals, which can be used side by side. Combined with the amount of conditions you can apply to yourself, you can heal for around 18k.

Idk if they’ll be OP, but I def noticed there could be some issues with the healing. I was able to full heal with Mally and a few conditions on me, and still have the other heal in my back pocket. Each heal skill needs to be effective, but not overly so. I think they might have a helluva time balancing that going forward. I think the Rev would be better if you pick 1 heal and 1 elite then the utilities switch with the legends. I liked the class though, had some fun with it.

Honestly, I’m not sure why it matters. What are you hoping to accomplishment or clear up by knowing the cap? Not being a jerk, just genuinely curious.
IIRC the cap has also been adjusted a couple times throughout the life of the game.

It should be open to everyone, just like wvw is now. Test it under the actual conditions it will face when live. Isn’t the point of a stress test to push it to it’s breaking point so you know your limitations?

I’d like to see any new pets. We haven’t got a single one since release. Maybe, they’ll surprise me with HoT.

The LB seems to be where they want it, so yeah, it’s definitely time to show the SB some love. They originally nerfed it because nobody was using the LB, but now that that’s fixed they might wanna revert it back to it’s original form and see how that goes.

Idk if it can be changed at this point. There’s no server loyalty, and that’s Anet’s fault. They should have never allowed server transfers (or make it extremely difficult) in a game that pits server’s against each other, but that ship has sailed. People just look for the easy win instead of digging in and building a community on their server. They could limit transfers now by making them more expensive or once every 3 months etc., but that will just kitten people off and cause them to lose more players.

It’s time for it to change. It’s been a fun, unique weapon, but it’s just not as efficient or useful as other AA’s.

I still want to know why Fortifying Bond shares Vigor with our pet? It’s been like this since the beginning and it makes no freakin sense. Swap it for Stability al-freakin-ready.

I’m all for more options. I also know of a few ladies in my guild who would be extremely upset if they took away their “skimpy” or revealing clothing.

I will never purposely pick up a class I’m not familiar with, and then precede to burden my team just for a daily.

Hopefully, they throw a fresh coat of paint (so to speak) on the old profs with the xpan. I really have no desire for my Ranger to become a Druid. Sure I’ll tinker with it, but it just doesn’t fit the vision of my character, so I’ll inevitably remain a plain old Ranger.

I would hope the expansion includes one char slot, but idk if anyone should expect it considering they would make some decent money off everyone buying a new slot.

From my understanding of the OP, it’s not balance or the class being overpowered, but it’s about incorporating the new tech. The cleaner and cooler animations, particle effects, and skillbar effects into the original professions outside of Specializations. Basically giving them a makeover with this new tech. Which I would love
