I’ve got a little suggestion. As living world events are ‘limited’ somehow, and similar functionality has already been implemented, I would really love to see the timer next to achievement group saying how much time is left to finish them. Its quite difficult to find such information on forums, and also there is no consistency in events lengths, some of them are 2 weeks, some 4, now superbox is third, and name of the “boss week” says that its going to last just a week.

tl;dr; Living world achievements timer showing the end of event, like for dailies/monthlies.

After I came back form holiday, all flame and frost dyes became not-sellable on TP. I suppose this is a bug…

This is the main idea of the game: You can get everything in the game without spending any money on that. This is why many ppl play it.

not a joke. It just makes those weapons still unique, while enabling ppl that really want it to get it.

You just described the idea behind them. You have alot of them, and dont know what to do with them – this is why you wont regret using 10 of them from time to time just to change looks of the character you’re just lvling.

Everything in this game can be bought with money, why you want the last thing that involves some ppl work instead, to be the same?
Actually its one of my few little hopes that this game can become something ‘fun’ instead ‘pay and get anything u want’

I’m just curious on your opinions, as mine is clear for me and I’ll try to describe it:

When gw2 started, there was alot of unique things in the game, that actually made u feel special. It was some cool skins that ppl didnt know (like emberglow), and then legendaries, which was like “Wow” when u saw them. They had driven the game then.

Any1 would agree with my, that legendaries are anywere near special now. Actually that kind of design made me leave gw2 in february – as I had thousands of gold, and everything connected to gearing yourself with nice looking skins came down to spending X gold. As you was walking around the map all u saw was: ‘Oh, 10g’, ‘Oh, 50g’, ‘Oh 300g’. There was nothing like ‘Wooow I would love to have that, thats so epic’. – I love to have that feeling….

That feeling make me come back to gw in June. After seeing items like ‘Fervid Censer’ (ahh, I regret so much that I didnt play that content), or fused waepon skins, or other event skins – all I thought was: Wow, they are so great, so special, this game is finally getting content that I regret I wasnt able to get. That made me finish every event, and get as many cool items as i could.

The limited content has sth in it. You just can put a lot more effort in getting it, just to have it and know, that it was a good choice because if you would miss it, it wouldnt come back, like, ever.

Now we can see some changes in those ideas, as event skins are actually tradable. This way everything is just a matter of cash. This makes (atleast) me not willing to acquire any of them for now, as I know that I dont rly need them, and if I sometime will, I’ll just go to the TP and buy one of them.

It has some good, and bad sides. On one side if you really want something, you will have it, and it actually increases diversity. On the other side, it just makes everything so usual. Everything is just a matter of money, and you wont have anything that will make u SPECIAL, not just different.

There are some minis, and backs, that still are kind of limited, but do ppl rly love them that much? I mean, isn’t it nicer to have some unique waepon or armor, than some mini running around?

I had the same thing with LoL skins – I bought some of them on every single event, as they were limited. No matter how much cash I had to spend, I knew that it makes it somehow special and unique. Now there are no limited skins at all, and I haven’t bought even a single one since then.

Just to be sure, I’m not complaining thakittens bad, maybe I dont rly like it this way, but others could, thus why I just wonder what your opinions are.

tl;dr;
Do you like the current way of game changes? Making everything tradable, old cool items coming back to TP for sale. Does it makes u feel great that you can finally get a skin u like, or makes u feel that if its available for anyone its actually not special anymore?

Yeah, I agree with the OP, UI should definitely be adjusted for different monitors. Yesterday I was playing on my brother PC, and I was stunned that the UI took so much place, even if it was 1920×1200 screen.

Imo it should look close to the attached one on most of the displays, not much ppl have large res screens anyway, and it rly affects gameplay.
I’d suggest sth like UI scale option like in LoL

So the question is: If I build a golem, how long can it wait for someone to pick up? Is it 60 minutes like for other sieges, or maybe bit longer?

I’m sorry if this was already mentioned anywhere, but was it clearly stated when does this event with all the achievements and dungeon end? Im a bit overworked to do all of that now, and wonder if I’m gonna make it on time.

The only thing u have to do is spending 3×10mins a day to remake ur offers, and you can easily earn 100g per week. Increasing the frequency of reseting offers can do more than doubling above value. This way you can do whatever u always do in the game and step into BLTC from time to time and cash is urs to buy precursor. The most efficent, the safest and not frustrating at all compared to all RNG ways ^^

I always dreamed of a system where achievements from permanent content could be separated from the total value coming from dailies and so on. There is a lot of ppl, loving the game, and its challanges, but cannot afford an hour or even a half every single day to finish a daily. Thus way, even trying hard to finish all the achievements doesn’t rly makes u any better than a person that just jumps in for 30 min every day to finish his daily…

The solution that would actually satisfy me would even be showing permanent achievements in brackets next to the total number, like AP: 9204(2372). That would actually be something imo, and that would be the thing that would make me finish all achievements just for the sake of those point, cus now they have no value, atleast for me

I think that OP is just trolling… Given You need +- 1000 gold to craft legendary weapon, its quite lame to complain that you need certain crafting profession which actually means as much as spending ~10g to level it up…

Huge chunk of market is going to be incredibly unstable for the next 2 weeks or so… You can earn tons of gold with good investments…

actually its not special at all now. Im starting to wonder if should I buy any event items off gemstore if they’re going to add all the cool stuff later on for any1… If limited is not really limited, then its bad

I keep reading of these people who have 100-150g to invest and just do “login – 15 minutes to place buy/sell orders – logout” and the next day they have made something like 20-50 gold out of it. Every day.

1. first of all 100-150g is far too few to call it enough for viable investments, I’d say 500-1k is a nice amount to start really earning. The problem here are market shifts – if price goes down for like 2-3 weeks you dont want to get stuck with no money/ start changing your offers, but continue trading and wait for the market to go up again.

2. 15 minutes a day – yeah, you could do that, but to really start earning gold you have to spend that time every 2-3 hours. The rules here are actually simple – every 2-3 hours all your buy offers gets overbid (if thats the verb), so its roughly the same if u come back after 3 hours and 20 hours.

3. Crafting was never viable. You spen far too much time on it imo, its way better just to flip items. Check spidy for items with high demand and supply – e.g an item which average sold/buy amount a day is like 50 or 100, and as long as the sale/buy difference is enough (i take it as if I can earn 10% of paid amount i trade it) just start trading. Focus on one market first, to learn by heart all the prices of some kind of items – this way you wont fall in sudden market shift.

4. And thats all, with said 500g, and 15mins every 2-3 hours you can easily earn 100+ gold a day with proper investments.

We’ve just finished TA explo, hit return to C.Forest, then game crashed. After about a minute or login errors, Ive got in to see that everything acquired during the run disappeared. Anything to do with it? Just like on WoW private servers ;/

Meh dont give him bad advices… The best, easiest, least boring way is to trade items on trading post. Buy low sell high. Find an item with low fluctation and high supply and demand, and there is your place. With good amount of starting money you can then earn about 100g a day, ofc not sitting there all the time, just a moment every 30 mins or so. I’ve started about month ago with 10s, and I now got almost 2k. You start with cheaper items then get to more expansive, watch prices, and play the game. You can virtually earn 10-20% on trading any item on TP You dont have to spend hours on doing pointless events over and over while loosing interest in the whole game.

The Halloween event, while fun if a little confusing, has raised my hackles with a few things.

Why are outfits now bought on a per-character basis and not account-based?
Why are there no NPCs who allow you to choose what skins you want when you want them?
Why are certain desirable items only available through random chance instead of having a guaranteed acquisition path?.

1. Outfits are account bound so u can swap them as u wish, I love it.
2. Dont really understand second point, u buy what u want O.o
3. Random? You can buy them easily on TP with 99.999% of success, excluding 0.001% chance of bug occurance. Yeah kinda random.

I agree with the OP. Being that this is a holiday event, I think that most people would want to get some sort of memorabilia for participating.

1. How could you know that there wont be any revard for completing the halloween event?
2. One of memorable things, that u can get without weeks of farming is tittle of Emissary of the Mad King. Isn’t it memorable? Imho it is.
3. You can get epic armor skins for like 5-8g depending on when u bought gems, including freaking flying broom which is pure epicness.

Why everything ppl expect should be weapon skins? Stop crying, there is so much things to get in this event, each one for other part of playerbase. Apparently this time weapons are for farmers, and I’m ok with it, maybe next time it will be completely different. The game doesn’t end here. The only thing “no-farmers-at-all” cannot easily get are permanent weapons, everything else is up for anyone.

This is quite strange, because my top MBA 13 late 2011 is completely playable on lowest settings. There is no eyecandy at all, actually it looks like quake there, but its still possible to do anything other than taking part in 50ppl events which even my pc cant handle perfectly.
Afaik mid 2012 have sandybridges, so the performance should be definitely better. What version do u have?
