Agreed. Solution. Make warriors stronger by having banners stackable and affects 10 people. So a 10man warrior team is completely plausable and is faster than any other raid group. We need to go back to CoF P1 Warrior only, that we had in 2012.

I would say instead of Decoy, Well of Precongiton is superior for Chronomancer… it is stunbreaker and it gives you blur for 3 seconds (Which is good for counter bursts without wasting a dodge) AND it also gives you endurance at the end.

For Condi it is works…Your block Skill ( #2) can be blocked when you use the counter ability and it is pretty slow moving. And only block once. So it is a pretty weak defensive skill over Sword, the auto-attack is pretty slow and applies low amount of torment without 3 clones.

But mesmer’s skills are mainly for Time-Warp and FeedBack & Reflect-Focus. Rather than damage. With Chronomancer, you just get more support via Alacrity & more easy access to quickness & Slow (Well & Shield 5) and with F5, you can have a aprox 45sec CD on Time Warp.

And in General. Since Scepter applies mainly torment which is weaker than Bleed if the target don’t move. it’s not really worth it over Sword & Power build. Or it applies confusion which doesn’t do much on NPCs as they don’t attack often enough to warrent its usefulness.

what might be is that alacrity works with traits that cast a skill, like idefender on block/dodge since that one also reset when you cast signet of ether… ?

I think it does. But not 100% sure. I didn’t pay 100% attention to how often the iDefender popped up.

Only skill that is overtuned is the PoM in Illusion Adept Slot due to CP in Grandmaster Chrono. Since it allows you to keep casting Echo of Memories on an EXTREMELY short cd, 2 full shatters = 12 seconds gone. Most of the phantasms are between 15-25 seconds long. So it litterally removes 50% of the CD. If it was halved. The blocking wouldn’t nearly as often, illusionary defender wouldn’t be out as much as it would still be on CD a lot of the time. But still quite often to not neuter that playstyle completely.

Chronomancer is more like a gattling gun now. But the counterplay is still exactly the same. Mesmer has always been the most fun class for me. To play with for just “kittenz and giggles” since all of its utility and for the portal for JPs. Biggest problem for me has always been the lack of survivability in PvE and the lack of DPS with Chrono it fixes all of that. And makes Shattering worth it even in PvE. For PvP it just changed from going into stealth all the time to become blocking all the time :p

So I’m in love with it. Even more so than Reaper. With Chrono I’m always smiling. Only thing I would argue is too strong is the Illusion Adept 2 skill, shatter a phantasm reduces it’s cooldown by 2 seconds. It makes certain skills have essentially non-existance CD with alacrity. (As long as you mange to shatter). So reducing it to 1 second. Still makes it able to remove 3 seconds from a skill with just 1 shatter. Which is still plently good. It just don’t become a spamable mess.

My feedback will be mostly on a PVE point of view:

Traits:
Most traits feels really good but Augury of Death and Soul Eater are still lackluster

Augury of Death: i think the life siphon on shouts fits really bad on them, my suggestion would be to remove the siphon and make so shouts share up to 2 boons on us to nearby allies, it would be a way to improve necros support options by a little bit

Soul Eater: again the life siphon fits really bad, but i dont really have a suggestion on this one, maybe making so gravedigger corrupt a boon on use?

With that being said, i want to thanks you guys at the balance team for all the hard work, hopefully the feedback given on this thead can help to make reaper even better

I think that instead of doing Life Siphon on Soul Eater, It instead adds a Lesser Signet of Vampirism on the target(With a 5iCD per target), it would act the same as the previous one but would be a lot more for party support.. And the Boon sharing on Necro would be lovely. I so badly hope that happens. Would make me only want to play necro and no other class ever again.

I feel like if Augury of Death would make it so that Shouts become Blast Finishers, they would become a lot more useful over wells in PvE and in PvP, you would be able to easily grant your allies Frost Aura via Chill field + Blast. Or survive even longer solo by Dark + Blast for that blind. Or use a Poison field for Area Weakness. Which would make Reaper combo more with itself which will make it more fun to jump in and out of Reaper Shroud and would also increase Reaper/Necromancer’s potentional for PvE. Problem might be balance, of course. But I don’t see how a ton of blast finishers would affect PvP that much. Easiest to balance is to give it a 1/4 sec cast time (if traited for blasts.) on the instant casters, so you can interupt it if you play with a lot of allies.

most Necromancer weapons are still underperforming.. looking at other skills from other classes (throw torch from guard for example) its just a joke. I made a list with changes I’d like to see. Just for making the necro viable in PVP, I dont want to make it OP

staff #1: add poison for 5sec and better power scaling, make it generate 5% Lifeforce on hit so landing it twice lets you enter DS. maybe 100% projectile finisher?

staff #2: restore to 3 stacks of bleed

axe #1: needs another dmg increase

axe#2: possible whirlfinisher or missile block from front

axe #3: blast finisher!

focus #4: adjust pathing&bouncing to be similar mirrorblade, reduce cooldown to somewhat like 10s (to match axe better and looking at mirrorblades cooldown 16s on focus#4 is kinda funny), add a useful offensive boon like fury instead of regen

focus #5: reduce cast time by half

scepter #1: AA still not good enough.. could use a 2nd blood stack on the 2nd part of the auto chain and maybe an attack speed increase

scepter #2 and #3 should get a cooldown reduction to 6 and 8 seconds to make them usable twice until swapping weapons or going back to DS

dagger#2: reduce cast time, it takes to much time until siphon starts,

dagger#3: reduce cast time

dagger #4: maybe adding some LF gain because both other offhands provide LF (at least in theorie), maybe faster projectile speed

dagger #5: the time until the attack hits needs a huge decrease because its almost impossible to land in pvp. maybe 3 bleeding stacks instead of 2 and a blast finisher?

DS#1: add projectile finisher (20% or 100%)

DS#2: increase projectile velocity. maybe leap finisher

My additions to it. Or alterations to this.

DS#1 is so slow it needs to be 100%, it’s lower than Earth 1 on ele staff. And that’s 100%. However, I would prefer lower the casttime slightly and the damage So the dps stays the same but at least you can use it for damage both in Condi and Power. Without it being so slow that even if you manged to cast 1, you will probably miss it cause it is so slow and so slow moving, it’s only due to luck or opponents incompetence that they couldn’t dodge it or block it. Or blind you, or interupt you. Or something else.

DS#2. I prefer instant instead, cause then it gives Necro slightly more positional mobility vs several foes, which makes DS a lot more interesting when compared to RS. And since it is still pretty slow. It can still be dodged and won’t act like a shadowstep compared to thief.

Staff #4. It’s a blast finisher that can almost never be used when you actually need a blast finisher.

i will start with berserker because i wont take decimate defenses. chilling force seems like a really great survivability trait.

zerker is weaker overall. With Valk you can take all the necessary crit boosters which while staying in RS significantly longer for even more dps.

U´re wrong, just don´t take that useless trait (pve) and pick up dhuumfire for even more dps.

Full zerker isn’t really needed but partial zerker to get around 25-30% crit. Then 50% from decimate defenses and 20 from fury and the rest from banners/spotter.

Flashing shroud has tons of uses that we would be very sad to lose. There’s a ton of things that we can flash DS to proclike Furious Demise (5s fury) and Beyond the Veil (3s protection) and Life from Death (decent heal), and Weakening Shroud (aoe weakness and bleed), which can all be done nearly instantly between skill casts, because DS has no cooldown on exiting. We can also flash into and out of it to use Doom to ensure an important projectile hits, or even while being CC’d ourselves, while not forcing us to stay in it for long. And, most important, if it had a cooldown on exiting, Foot in the Grave would go from an incredible stunbreak with a 10 (or 7) second cooldown, to not really acting like a stun break at all if we don’t want to stay in DS.

I know it’s not really helpful to say it, but it really is an issue of you just needing to be more careful. But, if you practice flashing into and out of DS to use some of those traits, then you’ll learn to be much more careful about double tapping.

Don’t forget Foot in the Grave. An instant stunbreaker on 10 seconds + 1 stack of stab. It’s pretty useful for the types of players that don’t use DS other than utility, like Condi-mancer.

If they don’t want to change it in any other way (like the already suggested reduced damage and reduced cast time or the 2 casts chain) if would totally like this. It has a looong cast time, surely it hits like a train with power specs but the 100% projectile finisher should be there in the first place.

halving the speed on lifeblast (Make it like Plague blast speed and power). It would make Dhumnfire really potent outside of Reaper form.

Only epidemic and now CPC are decent. But they are by no means so powerful that they justify the self harm conditions. Plague and consume were good before they became corruptions. Plague is still sort of ok.

My suggestion would be to remove self conditions entirely on the base skills. They arent justified. You could add the base self condis to master of corruption if you added increased potency + cooldown reduction. But as it stands there are far too many negatives and not enough positives. Plus the actual skills arent even that strong.

So yeah i agree with some of your ideas. Basically i can support 1, 4 (only as a compromise), 5 and 6. But i think the base skills should have no self conditions what so ever. Because not every build will want to take transfers and cleanses just to use the base versions of a utility set. If you trait for corruptions then you are using curses which means you will likely have plague sending so it can be justified. Requiring a cleanse/transfer for untraited skills is severely limiting the option to take these skills for niche situations. And thats not good.

Or… Make Master of Corruption give you resistance. Like 3 seconds per Corruption skill. Not only would it make you immune to a condispike. But it would also make a Corruption Necro the true master of Condis. You can’t hurt him with it and he will hurt you back with all your might.

Sinister is the best dps hybrid gear(You can make exotic version quite easily with some farming in SilverWastes). Dagger/Warhorn + Staff. And then get lots of LF, swap to staff put down 3 (Which is a poison field) go instantly into DS and do 4 which is a whirl which causes more poison. Then auto-attack with the burn

Since so many are asking for condi cleanse I’m sure it will be considered. Shiro+Glint has none.

Revenant as a whole is designed to not have much condition cleanse. That’s not to say there won’t be any tweaks for removal, but it won’t be any large changes. can’t have everything.

Besides conditions, what other weaknesses do you expect there to be, Roy?

Well Rev is weak to condis and physical CC since it has pretty much zero stab. Good to see Shiro/Glint/Jalis power specs are becoming more cohesive. However, Condi rev, should rename Mallyx the Unyielding to Mallyx the Outlier.

Funny enough. If you go Corruption + Mallyx, you are essentially just an improved Necro.

Maybe they should make Vital Persistance baseline and replace it with Renewing Blast… Which should be renamed to Renewing Shroud #1

Replace vital persistance with Dhumnfire and add Renewing Blast to grandmaster. That way you can go something crazy like Apothecary and be very succesful.

I would actually give up seeing utilities if signet passives would just work. The utility visibility is just a UI visual, signets not working in shroud breaks a whole build for 50% of your play time….

Kinda have to agree with this. Just having signets work in shroud would be enough for me. Maybe I’m just setting the bar low since to me it feels like Necromancers have been kept down for so long.

Problem with that is Vampire Signet together with Reaper now and the Life Force Regen together and Blighter’s boon. It would look like “Oh kitten I’m at 100 hp go into Reaper” Attacks. Back at 100% hp. Continue to attack and stuff. “OH kitten I’m at 100hp go into reaper” rinse and repeat. Wait until people QQ at forums for Reaper being unbeatable or WAY too tanky in 1v1. Boom Reaper/Necro is nerfed to hell to make sure that Necro says underwhelming. They did it to Terror, Dhumnfire, consume conditions, Chilling Blindness and all other good things necro ever gets.

To fix eles they need to nerf burn. Nerfing burn will affect multiple classes. I wouldn’t worry about direct necro nerfs, I don’t see that coming. Everybody knows dd eles are the most ridiculous thing right now, it’s no secret, they can’t hide under the “omg reapers are op” or “omg heralds are op” threads.

Also they would either fix or nerf vamp runes, because right now it’s broken and creates very unbalanced pvp matches.

You add burn + broken vamp runes, you see why eles are the most broken class ingame at the moment.

The Vamp runes are so OP they are banned in ESL (I think it was) So in offical tournements they are banned, shows how OP they are. It should be like the downed state Ele form. Immune to direct damage but still affected by CC and conditions.

Go Celestial instead of pure power. And get a mix of Hammer & Mace/Axe and see how that goes.

It might work with celestial, but the mace auto power coefficients are too low for it to be an effective hybrid weapon. Offhand axe works well for hybrid damage though. Might stacking might be able to help bring it up, since the mightstacking tools are there, just scattered through many trait lines with awkward conditions for many of them.

I’m also concerned about surviving with celestial stats in pvp when you can heal through half of your health every 9 seconds or spam weakness (ele and necro respectively). Protection should help with that, but it’s harder to maintain that without Retribution traits.

Yeah, I didn’t think of the Might Problem. Cause I thought that Mace had a decent power coefficency. I know the concerns about the healing/survivability but if they change the way Nefarious Momentum by giving 2 might on Shiro skills and 1 might on all others. I think that could work as then you will easily be able to get a some might without being forced to use Shiro/Glint Legends. 1 might for 10 seconds on utilities that could be spammed. So at least you would have 5 might on you. With Sigil of Battle and strength runes. You can get up to 15 might without Shiro&Glint. So maybe tone it down to 1 might for 5 seconds on Non-Shiro utilites… Same with Demon Defiance and Resistance 2 seconds with Demon-Utility and 1 second on non-utility. Ths would make it a decently useful trait even if you don’t use the correct Legend Stance

I don’t get the problem. Not using Mallyx, is like a Mesmer not using condicleanse (Which is decently common). Or any other class in the game for that matter. Mallyx gives you your utility skills. It’s just like picking a utility condicleanse on any other class. Beside, Mallyx’s heal is insane if you get a lot of condis on you. Having like ~8 condis with resistance on you is like 13k heal. And unless the opponent is running boon-stripping, they can’t destroy you with condis. So it’s a very fair and powerful way of them dealing with condis.

The only thing is mesmer doesn’t need condi cleanse because he can simply kite and control the enemy which the rev can’t really offer. He don’t has all those nice mesmer things such as invuln, stealth, hard cc, reflect, teleport, immobs, ca. 16k instant bursts. Memser is build to don’t get harmful condis in the first place that’s why he can deal with most condi builds.

Rev has some nice things too (infuse light, more evades and block) but other then the mesmer or the engi are most of revs in meele where get way more conditions on you because the enemy can put harmful fields on themselfs and thats only in 1v1.
If you look at teamfights it’s even worse. As a meele class you are going to get a lot of condis all the time and that’s what kills the revs in most cases.

The biggest difference between a Rev and any other class. Is that some classes are able to avoid it completely, Warrior, Mesmer, Engineer, thief & Guardian. Some are able to spam condiremoval or have great access to it Ele & Necro. While Rev is unique in the way they render them completely in effective.

Since Roy wanted to give Rev a weakness but not a crippling weakness, he dealt with it by giving them few options to condi removal. I still think they Staff 4 should be used while moving as they fixed the Necro’s GS4 to be able to move as that would be very fair imo. So if he do indeed fix that as he did mention in another thread that there were some fixes to animatons and stuff like that. So I think one of the major complaints that people have had is Staff 4 being almost useless as it locks you in the animation. And since Roy have indeed been listening and adjusted the Rev a lot to be as awesome as possible. Anyways, the solution he made to giving Rev a weakness that isn’t a crippling weakness is giving him LOADS of access to resistance. I think you can even have permanent resistance(If it doesn’t boonstrip) and while some people complain that would cripple the tPvP aspect of Rev. Well, most of the time there is only 1 great build for each class in tPvP. And that would probably require using Malyix. But that’s the same as complaining that Ele requires Evasive Arcana or Necro requiring Soul Reaping for almost all their builds. But what I do would like to see is something along the lines of If you use a Legendary Stance that’s not the intended Stance for the boons, you get half of the power. Like 2 might on Shiro’s Utility skills would be 1 might on utility skills. 2 seconds of Resistance on Utility skill, should be 1 second of resistance on utility skill and so on. Beside Maylx still have a spammable boonstrip. So there is that.

Sorry for the wall of text. Some of it is just rambling so you can ignore it if you just want to see my conclusion.

tl;dr, Fix staff 4 animation. Rev’s solution to condis should still be resistance, make all the Legendary-Traits “Utility-Gives-Boon” have half effectiveness on the wrong stance to make it still useful.

Hammer hits like a freakin’ truck for all the range and AoE it has. It’s kinda crazy, really. Sword outdoes that, of course, but sword is also melee and has a lower target cap.

The Hammer does more damage than a Necro’s Life Blast at max range. So yeah. It does a ton of damage.

Put Dhumnfire there and give us a grandmaster trait that can Lifeblast shoot faster by like 25%. This should also be stackable with the 15% from Reaper. So now Reaper form is a fast on autoattack(and can do decent dps as the aftercast is pretty huge) and

You can also apply reliable burn in melee. If you decide to go Condi-Route by locking into Reaping + Soul Reaping.

Cause at the moment. Dhumnfire just isn’t worth it over either of the other two. For pure damage. Go +50%, for condi/survivability go Stab/Stun-Break.

Edit: Or just a bit faster if you go Chill-Dmg. But then you can do Chill, Burn & Fear damage reliable but this would then require fine tuning in terms of damage but Burn is already broken as hell.

Shortbow is ONLY for utility and movement. E.I a tele, 1 poison field, 1 evade and 2 blast finisher. It is not suppose to be a dps weapons for any reason. If you really want to go for range. you could use Dual Pistols but that is mostly only used on bosses who will almost insta kill you if you go into melee. Or bosses when you need lots of room to run around in. Like Foremaster Spurr in Aetherpath.

Been thinking of what a thief could move on to in a typical specialization. And I was thinking.. BARD. If we go by the Dragon Age view of a bard, it is basically an assassin who poses as a muscial mastermind(Which they are) while assasinating their target through poison, seduction or just plain stabbing.

So what weapon? I believe they should get a Focus (Mainly do the legendary Harp theme) and their main focus is giving the rest of the party buffs. Like Vigor and Fury mainly. Also have a “Harp weapon kit” which is a long range, music weapon. That does strong auto attack and other support theme utilites in form of drums and other instrument and would work similar to Spirits of the Ranger but give like a small buff(Like the turrets if traited on a Engineer)

But the F1-F4 could be even more fun. You could have 3 instruments. Trumpet of War, Drums of War and Harp of Harmony. Which are generally Trumpet = Power boosts, Drums = Vigor, Harp = Healing and then you can combo them together andthen use F4 to clear the finish. So sort of like building up clones as a mesmer then shatter them with your F4 ability, but instead of having 4 different shatters. You just have 1 Shatter that you can combo into several different things.

If the following applies to you:

->Launch Guild Wars 2 -> Launcher begins to update – > Then freezes

Try – Start -> Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings -> CHECK Automatically detect settings.

This worked for me.

Done this twice with two computers, one high end with windows eight and one with windows 7, WORKED BOTH TIMES. Try this first.

Yeah, mine didn’t have Automatically detect settings set in the beginning so this is not working for me.

If we were suppose to have 2 pets, couldn’t the second one, be like “Baby version” of another pet, and you have it on your shoulder or back and can have like a passive bonus (that does not take up trait or utility) Like Licking face = small regen or Tiny Bark Apply 1 Stack of Vul every 3 second. or “Baby Sneeze” Every 10th attack gives a 0.5 second chill.

Edit: I just really want a little black jagur kitten on my head that support me while I fight.

So.. There was this one guy that linked an item in the mapchat (You can see who in the screenshot and timestamp (Raya Wicks to be clear) and I wanted to see how it looked and it made my character look topless.

So I’m going to assume this is NOT a part of the game but rather a graphics bug?

Go Go Power Asura Rangers! My Necro has been around since… Beta? Started playing with Terrormancer again after the patch, after I felt turned off playing Necro for a while. ^^ The colour palette is my kitten version of the Swedish old army uniform… (Or it’s just cause I like Gold + Royal Purple :p )

When Does Elementalist Become Good?

We will become “good” when the perma aggro issue the elementalist has is fixed.
Ele’s damage is the highest in the game, the HP and armour are low which wouldn’t be much of a problem if not every mob decided to attack the ele’s only. Fix the aggro issue make mobs/bosses focus on the other classes more and i’m not complaining anymore.

So that’s why in fractals, when I tag like 25 mobs, everyone and their mother tries to murder me dead. Luckily, I just use Burning retreat and double dodge + EarthStaff 3 and run away like a sissy. ^^

Not sure if this has been reported before. But on the tooltip when you use the II Trait with vampiric master, as you can see in the picture it’s lowered, instead of increased by 20% The damage is increased, but the deal is decreased.

7/10, the colours look for the most part fantastic, I only think the skulls/shoulderpads look a bit odd with a red dye.

Personally I tried to make a cool pose.

While I spend most of my time playing Asura when I was the most active around 2013, I stopped playing for about sick months and got sick of my Necromancer-Asura, and decided to use a norn-Elemenatalist, and it’s been a blast!

I love how huge the Norns are compared to the other races and I laugh every time I see a the smallest Human running around, they look like children you find in the norn’s starting area.

I probably have had the most fun ever playing as a norn, just running around and watching “midgets” attacking things, while I, the Norn-maxsized me the normalsize of a character ingame.

Makes me wish I had made a Norn in the beginning, but the Asura’s dodge, by flinging themselves were too funny to look at, at the time.

But I’ve become a HUGE Norn fan, now since I started playing them. Also, hilarious that I found a Norn guy named “Berusad” which means in Swedish “Drunk”, Such fantastic names

btw not a picture of my norn, cause I’m not at my gaming computer to access my screenshots atm.

Edit: I also would love to see a Norn Baseball team, Home-Run at every strike. XD
