Ehhh WvW ranks don’t mean anything. I am Gold Invader (not uber I know) but that is just from EOTM zerging. If I spent more time, be higher.

I know there is zero pride in the WvW ranks as it tells you nothing about the quality of the player. Heck not even the time they spent since you can be a great wvw player but not being doing stuff to move the wvw xp bar. And that is all the ranks are.. xp. which a bunch comes from PvE in WvW

That said, for the duo, Herald is solid, Druid is also good pick. And as others said a Guardian.

I bought 75 keys last night. Was it worth it? For me yes. I got lucky and got a few skins that was able to flip for a solid gold. Black lion tickets that I will save and pick a skin that I can sell for most profit. (like to camp on those and wait and sell months down the road),

Many boosters which helps me.

PvP and WvW a trapper druid is a ton of fun to play. Not sure if you only PvE but something to think about if you enjoy other game modes

I don’t PvE so won’t speculate how trapper druid does in that part of the game.

I run commander tag a bunch in both PvE and WvW (Eotm also).. Know what? It is a pain in the #$$^$^. You get tons of back seat drivers, little or no thanks and just headaches when you tag up..

For the OP, after awhile buddy, you just get tired of it.

I can not seem to get the 6th slot ability (aoe torment, poison etc 35 sec cooldown) to trigger when I use head butt

anyone have this bug

I am lefty so all the binds are different.

honestly I juse the number keyboard for it all. So like 7 is elite, 2, 3 4 are my weapon skills. movement is on the arrow keys under the num pad.

Works great for a lefty. Sucks when my daughter logs in and is a right lol

Ahh some more good advice. Yeh I did the first couple of chapters of HoT and now it says I need to gain experience to get the glider but it doesn’t actually explain how to do this. Still trying to figure what I need to do exactly. The WvW seems like a good idea also.

You earn mastery points in HOT (well lin old world also). But for the gliding you just need one point and that is not hard to get. You have one already from doing the first step of the story.

On the screen you have the XP bar on the bottom. click the left side of the bar and the interface comes up where you can now train and use 1 mastery point to learn gliding.

later on, other skills like updrafts, etc will need more then one mastery point. To get more points you can google and youtube the locations. If not hit M and when near them they will be greyed out.

Be aware they are account bound. So when you learn it one toon, good for all others.

If you have an 80 level already, at the least, do the first quest for HoT expansion. That will get you going and then do just one level of the HOT exp. Won’t take long at all. That unlocks the gliders on ALL your toons. So even if you don’t want to play that guardian for the expansion or whatever, you can use your glider on the alts.

Just remember that the expansion npcs hit harder and the new maps are meta map wise things. So no hearts like the old world. I dislike the expansion and the forced grouping for most of the map stuff, but I know I don’t speak for everything.

Also if you enjoy any WvW you earn a chest after each WvW level. That chest will always have a book of xp (free level) and hero points. (6 to 9 of them). They are great for you to get the hero points you need for your expansion traits (ie Dragonhunter for your Guardian).

On tip, but them in blocks of 10 from the WvW Vendor. That way it is credit for HOT zones and they are harder to get vs old world skill points.

We give up utility slot for it.. I mean sure we can slot something besides runes of the traveler, but I really wanted to be greedy and get it via a skill trait..

Not sure if I will lose my medi/trap utilities just to swap out my rune set..

So looks like there are more and more duelers hitting EOTM and parked just north of the Needle Tower.

Talk about a bad spot to pick. Last night both OG and BL tags kept bringing the zergs through there again and again.

The duelers on our side (BL) were screaming at us to stop. I mean you picked a bad zone (you have other choices) and on top of that a BAD spot. At least go under the bridges where zergs don’t roam.

So if you are a dueler in EOTM, get ready to keep running back.

I did the bloody prince on any non-melee staff user. Works with most classes and looks nice.

But what is “best” really depends on the player, the class and the race.

Got mine up before x-pact. So was just meditations with GS and Sword/Focus.
Worked fine for me.

Now I run almost the same with utilities (slot one trap instead of the full cond clear) and longbow.

Retreat is all you need. 23 sec of swiftness on 30 sec recast. Can even slot in power set of runs that increases the swiftness uptime AND helps your offensive stats.

All the whines about the speed is silly. You have the tools already. Just use them

If you complain about retreat, what do you want? Signet of speed? Still going to use that utility slot for it.

Hit EOTM and drop an AC above the bell tower. Watch the lemmings all zerg the circle and die to the AC fire. Enjoy the bags.. Rinse and repeat..

With this you go air (drop earth).. So I cast my air overload and I have to wait for the full channel correct? once done, I swap to fire, do a burning speed and I should be able to flip right back and overload air again??

the pairings are horrible. For everyone. There is not fun when there is not balance and making this move was idiotic.

No matter where you go, just one sided now.

I run marauder (I play wvw, open world pve) and works fine I slotted all _toughness accessories, but I think that is even overkill and about to swap out some of that toughness for more ferocity

I think the set works really well for the guardian. I have traverlers rune and love my guardian for what I run.

I have no issues.. Run travelers and slot retreat.. You are all set. Heck you can drop traveler’s and have a ton of uptime on swiftness (if not 100% if you run the right runes)..

So I hit f5.. Cast the big stuff. Then I have to hit f5 again to reset the timers (and I believe I also port back to my first location, hps etc).. Any easy way to know how much time I have to hit f5 second time?

if roaming, how best do you use your f5 ability for a chrono. I am new to class and getting hang of it. It seems like I does not refresh all skills, but that must be user error!

Update:currently i’m seeing 9k power dmg in a single strike from a crit. not impressed by this as I’ve played 25k cnd tick builds before and cnd dmg isn’t soaked by toughness and power damage is. so I need at least 11-14k individual damage per strike.

9k crits on what? Fireball? That is pretty solid. You talk about cnd, but that has to be in melee range and be set up.

9k AA fireballs is really good… You want 14k from 1200 range?? lol man… come on.

So been messing around in EOTM to grab skill points on my alts.. Noticed that the last week on the first EOTM map (since I get there right at the start of the match) that there is now an area where duels are happening.

Horrible spot just north of Needle tower. So of course, there are zergs that go thru there all the time. This last week, 99% of the time, the tag would zoom in there after flipping Needle reactor and just wipe out all the duelers.

This of course lead to rages and venting in the chat by members on our Frostreach side who wanted to duel and be left alone.

All that said, why in the world pick that spot? I mean just go down under there for the 3 way check points that really only get flipped by solo folks, not a zerg.. Plus red is dead.. Why would you use EOTM to duel?

Easy one is spend real money on gems and convert.. That said, run Edge of the Mists and you get chest drops for all the NPC kills.

Plus you get WvW xp, reward tracks AND full level xp book for each WvW level. So helps with alts.

I am new to Scrapper (mostly on my warrior). Not sure how the synergy with Final Salvo works… Can you keep up your superspeed that much? Seems like the regen is no much for sustain.

EOTM is still very nice way to level. This assumes you are running the karma train and not Frostreach..

Each WvW level gets you a level up book and also 6 to 9 skill points. A solid karma train will get you 5 to 6 levels an hour.

That said, after the patch, you see more 80’s and actual WvW fights then before so there are nights where you get less karma trains.

I still want druid for the prema swiftness and such. So run LB /GS with druid line sounds good?

I play mostly group wvw (some smaller stuff and roaming)

Blew my free 80 on a druid. Any builds where you do not have to use the staff.

I love my long bow.. Dislike the staff as a range option.
