it would be nice if for movement skills like infiltrators arrow if they treated them like the warriors Whirlwind attack. Instead of the normal targeting circle, it has a directional arrow pointing in whichever direction you wish to move.
It should be noted that prior to the wurm, at least on my server, people will say that “everyone should hold back on dps, NOONE will get event credit if it dies before it spawns” since we are aware of the situation, yet without fail people just ignore it and go full dps anyways
The only part about this event which isnt really stated in the event window is that you NEED to keep someone watching Lionscout Jenny so that she doesnt get killed by the regularly spawning mob next to her. Although the champion captain is also difficult to tackle in small groups. Afther that part of the event it is smooth sailing
they are still bosses in lvl 1-15 areas… it probably wasnt meant for swarms of 80s to do in the first place …. although i do hope that the better scaling would help with this whenever its implemented
If you want to enjoy the story, you pretty much have to level up in some way or another as the Personal Story aspect of the game does not give you enough exp to keep up with the next step’s level range. For example, if you did ONLY the personal story stuff up until the level 10 quest, you would only have enough exp to be level 4 or 5. One of the drawing points of GW2 is that just about everything gives exp in some form, although for those just starting out, map and side quest completion are generally the best two ways for people to level up, make money, and unlock utility slots.
Tho if you only want to experience the personal story without having to deal with anything else in the game, I wouldn’t think its possible aside from having some lvl 80 friend carry you through the whole thing…. but that’s missing out on the point of an MMO imo.
Personally i think lvl 30 is where things get more fun, because by that point you have all your utility skill slots unlocked, and should have a fair amount of skill points to allow you to experiment… and if you want to be cautious about your skill point spending, always head to the spvp area to try them out beforehand
if it works like a regular mouse then i see no reason why you wouldnt be allowed to use it …. although i think there was a statement somewhere that you COULD use macros as long as they only corresponded to ONE button press and were not repeated
…also have you tried reinstalling the mouse drivers? would be kind of annoying to spend on a rat 7 and have it function only as a simple mouse
thats odd… whenever ive used one of my weapons with this sigil during dragon events, ive seen the healing visual effect go off every so often… and ive always been under the impression that you couldnt crit on large world event bosses like that
funny thing, one of my friends found and used abyss dye on hi armor at some point when i hadnt seen him for a while… and when we went to do a dungeon together i couldnt tell that his character had entered the same map because the color of his armor on the little “character head display” thing was pretty much identical to its appearance when another character isnt on the same map
… that being said i do like the abyss dye when its used in combination with other colors, or in some of the lining or paneling parts of the armor
so i saw a similar topic on the general discussion area, and i got curious about the deaths/age ratio of all the warriors out there, and the different builds behind them.
so… however far this will get… I’ll start off

Sigzerker with ruby orbs for everything except dungeons xD
if there’s one thing i could note… most of my recent deaths have been to suiciding for a fractal reset(mostly cliffside) and afking in ill advised areas!
>_< i usually stick with the 5 signet setup in all pve outside of dungeons since its easy to steamroll just about everything … that being said i do have other gear primarily centered around dungeons, but i will occasionally forget to switch to a more group oriented setup… but then again some people like having me go around with 5 signets, tho i think they just want a better chance to see me dyeing lol
in any case… it is a game in the end, i think its rather fun to run around without much regard to anything other than “lol killkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkill BIG NUMBERS!!!” … sometimes xD
if you have been gathering ores and other crafting ingredients as you have been playing, it might be worth looking into leveling one or two crafting skills. It is possible that you have enough materials saved up to allow you to craft you own lvl 80 exotics… or at the very least make some money towards that goal.

the longcoat thing gets a bit boring …. but a nice dye job can do wonders!
that looks like the PVP set. But it still is the long coat combo. The major difference for the Female humen medium armor is the Duelist set, but it is only level 78 gear.
yeah, the duelist set is pretty nice… tho its a shame that they didnt include many other armor sets like it
the only other i can think of is the human tier 3 cultural… which is way outside some users hands from a price perspective
also yeah that coat is the guild medium armor set, if your guild has that upgrade available….. and then i think the AC karma vendor uses that style too, except your guild logo wont show on the front

Why is adding one tier okay, while adding more aren’t? Also, you’ll not only have to replace your gear with ascended, but also lower rarity infusions with higher rarity ones in the future.
I’m just curious about the answer.
mmm, idk i just kinda felt that there should be a more easily obtainable… or at least less rng based way to get a gear that is of a higher tier than exotics
and i guess with the different rarity of infusions, you would have some varying levels of work needed to obtain them
… that being said, i havnt even gone through level one of the fractals and i could be wayyyyyy off on this
….. but then again, if they keep the legendary tier of gear as top tier, then i personally wouldnt have much of an issue about them adding more tiers of gear in between ascended and legendary
the only thing i would have an issue with is if they were to add something over the legendary tier, removing that as the top tier

Was the ascended gear intended to be the answer to the players who wanted gear you had to work for … as opposed to the highly RNG based attempt at getting a legendary?

cooking and jewelcrafting are rather cheap if you have spent time collecting ingredients as you have been leveling …. and it it rather easy to sell of the lvl 400 jewelry to take care of some of the cost of buying ores/ectoplasm
in any case…. the event is done with, was a GREAT event that was HOOOOOOOOORRIBLY IMPLEMENTED…. just gonna wait n see what anet says/does as a response

Please do a search and count how many people posted because the event bugged, froze, reset or crashed on them. This is just the vocal section of all those people who were not able to finish the event for one reason or another.
And you’re here to tell us that there are people out there who completed the event 2 or more times? Alright then since you seem to know everything, how about you name them all.
I personally completed the event 4 times, the first was the original starting at 12 pm pst, and the other three were on overflows trying to get other people into the event

i am in an overflow with the event repeating, and i have a friend in another where it just repeated again (but skipped some steps) if you really want to get in on it id wait for a few minutes in an overflow channel, or check around in your guilds or with your friends
BUT you can only open the chest if you have not already opened it on the first end of the event
…. it should be noted that this is happening on certain overflows…. if not all of them
UPDATE: another party member was in a overflow with an Anet official, they stated that those who participated in the event but dced at the final boss will be compensated…. tis is all i know atm
Also, other overflows are now starting from early stages of the event, so try relogging from the character select screen if you cant get a group inside an overflow
IF you have access to a ranged attack, always use that to open you attack on the young karka. They will generally use their ranged attack right after you engage them…. BUT it also has a very limited range. If you move outside of the 900 range, even if the attack is coming straight at you it will not land. After getting used to that feature of their attacks, its kinda easy to take em out.
If thats is your main pve armor, going with ruby orbs will work out nicely. For whatever reason, a friend of mine had stocked up on them before their prices got so crazy and lent me a set to try it out …. in the end i didnt really feel the impact of the extra 60 vit/healing/toughness/condition damage was worth it compared to the nice power/crti chance/ crit damage bonus
i like to use a berserker set in my pve and wvw sets, and with the ruby orb, you get more power, precision and crit damage compared to the divinity runes… i think its more in line with the berserker gear/mindset ^^
I was wondering if it is possible to transmute the appearance of a light or medium quality armor to a heavy armor counterpart…. most of the heavy helms are ugly to me and if possible id like to get one of the light armor masks or something like that ^^
I started playing during the early start and havnt been displeased with the game at all
….. but i have an odd feeling today after being banned for botting, although im very sure i have not botted or intended to bot in the time i have been playing
and now with this refer a friend thing starting, i was hoping to get some more of my buddies into gw2 but now im really not sure, since in the time before i got booted today i still saw some familiar bots roaming around….. I guess my question is, why am i getting banned as a legit player, while truly obvious bots are running around rampant and who would really introduce their friend to this game? T_T
edit: yes ive submitted a ticket already but this is quite frustrating
from my experience, i have 2196 precision on my warrior and my maximum crit chance is only 69%, and even using a superior sigil of precision at 25 stacks, my crit chance maxes out at around 92% in lvl 80 maps
that being said… if you add on other class traits, and exotic lvl 80 gear that has precision as its primary stat, you can probably hit 100% but it will depend on the class you choose
You can get over 100% critical damage and 100% critical chance, tho i think the critical damage cap is around +103% … excluding some class specific skills
Straights is a bit challenging if you are new to the map, but there are a few events you can run without having to stick with large groups of people. THere are a few escort events that start out at fort trinity and can be soloed even with blue/green gear. I Took a full glass cannon approach with my warrior running a 30/30/0/0/10 build with berserker gear and gs/bow/sometimes rifle as my weapons. When you get into the heart of the area where the temples are, you will almost always need a group of people running with you…. but most of the time they shouldnt be too hard to find. On maguuma there is usually at least on group doing a rotation of events, and id imagine its the same fr whichever server you come from, tho i could be wrong.
Compared to some other zones, the Orr maps are a bit more challenging, but if you start off trying to take mobs one at a time you can learn how to get around rather quickly.
Also, i wouldnt mind helping you get used to straights and the other orr maps, im usually on around 3 pm pst if ur up for some fun
If you want to get into pvp, you wont have to worry about your pve level or skills or traits, since when you get to the pvp map, you will have all skills unlocked and all70 trait points available to use as you see fit. And the thief class is one of the better pvp classes, or so ive read. As far as wvw, like other posters have said, you should at least wait until 30 so you can have a full utility skillset going.
Also, try not to get dependent on waypoints for travel. The cost per waypoint goes up as your level increases, and can be a big gold drain if you arent careful about it.
As for the thief/warrior preference, they both have their upsides(only two classes ive leveled to 80) and can be very fun once you put in some time to unlock skills.
