Unless Anet does an overhaul on the way we obtain pre-cursors then the prices will to skyrocket out of control and within a few months, dusk will be 4000g.

I swear to god if there is one more living story instead of an expansion or adding SOMETHING new other than what should have been there in the first place, like ascended being account bound, wardrobe, free trait refunds. That’s not anything to get my panties wet over. That should have been there from the beginning. ADD A FOOKING EXPANSION ALREADY! STOP FOCUSING ON STUPID GEM STORE ITEMS!

Can we please get something to save a certain trait setup for open world, and another one for dungeons?

If I were to hear that Living Story and it’s buggy, temporary rush was all I had to look forward to for the life of the game, I wouldn’t even bother to keep tabs on Guild Wars 2 to see if my concerns about Living Story were ever going to be addressed.

The LS was always something of a bad idea, with a worse execution. I’m sorry for the people that like it, but you’re in the minority, and with many good reasons.

GW2 is a game that most people are likely to play intermittently. Having a focus on fleeting story events and temporary content does nothing but discourage the majority of players from coming back to the game because they miss too much when they go on hiatus. Furthermore, it ends up being a development vacuum that keeps the game world from actually growing, so when someone who stopped playing a few months ago or last year wants to check the game out again immediately lose interest because it doesn’t feel like much has changed. Timed events also tend to create rushed, buggy content that consistently seems of middling quality and causes people to burnout in the achievement race, etc.

It’s a novel concept, just not a particularly good one. It drove hordes of people from the game, and they very likely know it at this point, so the gears are likely to switch this year. It’s not really the release format that’s the problem, but rather the focus on fleeting story arcs and temporary content. The focus should always be on permanent additions like new zones, dungeons, skills, etc.

And this folks is why living story just doesn’t make the game feel great. It’s just temporary zerg content and if you miss out on it because of real life stuff going on then boo-hoo too bad for you in Anet’s eyes. This is why we need new zones, new skills, new weapons, PERMANENT things that an expansion offers, that way people can play it at their own pace and not feel pressured to log-in to the two week zerg rush.

Anet really needs to think about the future of GW2 to keep players coming back and a reason to login everyday. They need to breathe new life into this game, and a two week Living Story will simply not cut it. I am hinting at an expansion. Yes, this has been discussed many many times. I’m not sure why it hasn’t been done yet though. Anet needs to wake up and do something major to this game. Unlock the other parts of the world, add new events, give a reason for players to keep playing in the other zones that we cannot access. A new commando class would be fantastic. New skills for existing classes, new weapons, etc. We want diversity!!

Are we supposed to get a splended chest from this from beating them within the time frame? If so, I never get anything!

Actually, I think the elimination of the soulbound concept is really good. I am glad they implemented it.

Next I would like to see a bigger focus on guilds and giving them new things to do together.

It’s already been said that the reason they made these changes, was because they were removing some of the gold sinks from the game (Repairs, and retraiting.) So to balance out the loss of 2 goldsinks they had to slighlty reduce gold income in some aspect of the game.

It’s really not that hard to understand.

I got the colossus on my 8th forge attempt. you can do some things to improve your odds. like only forge weapons that are the same type as the precursor your want. only forging exotics etc.

There isn’t any proof anywhere that the devs are against mounts. What’s wrong with the TERA method of using mounts? You still see plenty of the world on riding mounts, they look cool as heck, don’t go too fast either so you are able to explore and they don’t clutter up anything imo. They would not ruin anything if you asked me.

When I open champ bags I get greens and blues. I have never had an ascended drop which is stupid since the loot tables are based on exos being the top gear. Once ascended was introduced those blues and greens should’ve become yellows and exos. There are far too many vocal apologists for what is IMO the worst loot ever in a “AAA” mmo.

There’s another Japanese MMO whose name I won’t mention, that’s coming out with a new class in May. If Anet wants to hold the attention of their fanbase, they had better compete hard with that and do something spectacular, other than GEM STORE skins / weapons and Living Story bologna. Just saying.

Yea… I think LA will be moved to somewhere else though, just my feeling. And this game is going to be nothing but gem store purchases and living story, nothing else.

1. Not having mounts. Every legendary MMO had mounts, and some even mounted combat (UO for one). Having to “hoof” it everywhere is tedious and unrealistic.

It’s a basic tenant that is unreasonably opposed. Many here seem to think mounts are vanity items? I’m not sure how this opinion was formed. Maybe these folks have never played an old school sub MMO (UO, SWG, LotRO, Vanguard, even WoW).

The objective is to make exploration, and getting around the map more enjoyable because of increased movement speed. You can’t tell me it discourages exploration, and yet have way-points every 5 feet. Way-points are cheesy, not facilitating realism and immersion with mounts.

I have said this so many times but it will never change =(
