What's Missing from Material Storage?

I’m sure some of these have already been covered, but these are the things clogging up my bank mainly.

Tributes to Endeavor
Crystalline Bottles, Milling Basins (and anything that you can buy directly from the scribe NPC or any other crafting trainer)
Gifts of Exploration, possibly other legendary items like Legendary Insights, Gift of Maguuma, Gift of Mastery, Gifts of Metal/Wood/Energy etc
Lesser/Vision Crystals
Copper/Silver/Gold/Platinum Doubloons
Tenebrous and Shimmering Crystals
Indigo Mushrooms
Blood Rubies / Petrified Wood / Chak Eggs / Reclaimed Metal Plates / Mordem Blooms / Bauble Bubbles / Baubles – Maybe these could go into the Wallet instead of in Material Storage
Continue Coins / King Toad tokens / Storm Wizard tokens

[Suggestion] Mounts in GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Want speed? Swifty. Every profession has a 25% passive except guardian, who is easy to keep up perma swifty on.

Want to jump somewhere? Waypoints, or teleport to friend. Hell, you can even run through cities without touching a foe to get from one end of the world to the other.

Personally I’m over the mount suggestions. It’s been 4 years and we have the cosmetic mounts. If mounts as a “speedy” alternative were to be added, they would have been added a while back. Maybe in the next expac we’ll see some, who knows.

This topic has been done to death. Move on.

Pin Character to Beginning of Character Menu

On this note – as someone who has 45 characters on her main account – I would love an option to manually set the way my characters are sorted – and keep them that way. Not just a PvP/PvE type deal like in gw1, but more a drag-and-drop or move up-and-down option. Maybe even options like “sort by profession” and “sort by race” would be fantastic. And while we’re at it, maybe even a search bar.

While I’m sure that would improve the QoL for a tiny minority of the playerbase, and while that would indeed be a cool set of features, I hope ArenaNet will take action, first, to implement the simple suggestion I’ve made—being able to pin a single character to the beginning of the Character Selection menu on the Character Selection screen.

As an old-school MMORPG player, I have a “main” character—as many other people do, I’m sure—and a series of alts. In my case, I have one character for each Guild Wars 2 profession. My engineer, however, is my main character.

I’d like to be able to play an my alts for a bit, but then quickly switch back to my engineer by selecting him from the beginning of the Character Selection menu on the Character Selection screen. This is a very simple, straightforward feature to add, and would require allocation of a minimal amount of time and resources to implement.

While a more robust character sorting and selection menu would be great, let’s strongly encourage the development team to implement this baby step feature, and then gauge the community’s reaction to it. If there is a powerful, positive response, maybe the powers that be would see that additional Character Selection changes are warranted.

I don’t see why a sorting feature wouldn’t help out the entire playerbase. The drag-and-drop feature I suggested would lock those characters into their places until you decide to rearrange them (similar to what you ask, but in more detail). Baby steps are always good, but I don’t see why we can’t suggest more detailed QoL upgrades just because the step 1 hasn’t happened yet.

Not really. Every skill I use is mapped to a naga chroma, and I know a lot of other players who use similar multi-button mice for the convenience.

If you want different mappings I’d suggest looking into an external program like the steelseries engine or razer synapse. Not sure what hardware you have, but those are what I use.

Once I took every prompt as an experiment. I stopped at 5. This needs to be seen to.

Currently experiencing a bug where trying to launch myself out of hidden rooms with mushrooms would keep me captive.

I go through the loading screen, but only to find that because of the lag I have, the character has just loaded back into the hidden room. I see myself watching the cinematic as I’m being flung into the air. I’ve had this happen in a few rooms, but none as bad as the one I’m currently stuck ing (W2Z1 with the bears).

The worst part is because I’ve killed all the enemies I can’t do anything to get out except load back to the hub – which resets all progress I’ve been trying to make on the Associate of Baubles.

Please devs, get a fix on this. It’s rage-inducing.

Flax Farming... 4 or 5 hours daily? Um...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Miss Lana Too.5794

Miss Lana Too.5794

Time spent moving is time spent NOT EARNING.

Park your characters, hit the immediate nodes, do something else.

If your options are:
1. 10 Flax in 40 seconds (.25 Flax Per Second) or
2. 10 Flax in 40 seconds at first farm + 10 minutes of walking + 10 Flax in 40 seconds at second farm (.0147 Flax Per Second)

The decision is pretty obvious, right?

That’s pretty much my reason for leaving all of mine parked at one spot only. If I want any other resource I take one character and do a full run of rich nodes and farms across the entire map, but this only happens if I feel up to it, and after I’ve done the flax farm.

I used to have them parked at a rich iron or rich platinum node, but the xp and income for flax is so much better than what I was getting for plat or iron.

PvE vs PVP community

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Miss Lana Too.5794

and PvE is the grind that people do for funds. .

Eh? This is news to me. I do PvE because I enjoy map completion and levelling alts. I play Guild Wars 2 to kill bad guys and dragon minions, not to increase integers.

Yeah pretty much this, but I guess people who don’t enjoy PvE just see it as a way to get cash money and nothing else. Ahh well, more areas for me to explore without PvP or WvW elitist kittens harassing me.

OP, sounds like you’re basing it off of – what other people have said – people who know you versus people who don’t know you. If so, that’s changed this entirely. PvP players are always worse than PvE players. The only kittens I’ve come across in PvE are those who are only doing it for the gold, but that’s few and far between. In PvP I’ve had many people harass and even stalk me purely because I play PvP casually (not that I could play it hardcore on 300+ ping average anyway). Out of PvPing I’ve made one friend in 3+ years.

Next time you post something like this, don’t cherry pick or change things, because it certainly doesn’t seem that you’re talking about strangers when painting PvPers in a good light.

Bottom line is if you’re enjoying it, keep doing it. It may not be good gold to someone else, but if it’s good gold to you – and you enjoy it – then do it. Don’t look for justification for your gameplay from other people.

Not so much that I am looking for any justification, I was just wondering if the time it took me to do all that was… reasonable or… am I slowpoke, LOL

(P.S., I have 24 character, my hat off to you, my friend, I don’t think I could babysit 45 characters… not unless I can claim them as dependents on my taxes…)

I’m going to suggest that it doesn’t, at least not for all 24 characters. Running around is time lost making money for a farmer. My recommendation:

1. Camp the your preferred farming spot with all but X characters
2. Optimize those X characters for running around and gathering

X depends on how often your camping spot refreshes. For example, I have 8 characters camping elder wood right now, I have 2 reserved for running around and doing other things. 8 characters, farming minimum of 15 wood each every hour @ 2 silver .. takes about 5-8 minutes. Then whatever else you get from doing stuff on the 2 others.

So the elder wood farms refresh every hour? That’s good to know! I assumed they were every 24h like the rich veins and other farms.

If you don’t already, I’d suggest turning your graphics to best performance, even just for farming. I find it reduces loading times substantially, even though my rig can handle best appearance without an issue.

When I was running my 80’s through the rich ore veins, lemongrass area and elder wood farms it took me about an hour each toon, so depending on how far you have to run to the second flax farm it seems fair

I sort mine by class weight alphabetically (ele > mes > necro, engy > rang > thief, guard > rev > war), and within each class I sort them by race alphabetically (asura > charr > human > norn > sylvari), so it keeps them all in order for the most part in the login screen

I have 45 characters. Currently 44 of them are parked at the VB flax farm. It takes me 1 minute per character (literally one minute, I timed it) to get the sickle, harvest the flax, deposit the flax and the sickle, and switch to another toon. This is on best performance (loading times otherwise can get crazy).

This gets me about 600 flax per day, which is pretty good considering I don’t do much else barring the occasional fractal daily and mapping.

Bottom line is if you’re enjoying it, keep doing it. It may not be good gold to someone else, but if it’s good gold to you – and you enjoy it – then do it. Don’t look for justification for your gameplay from other people.

I can repeat only myself what I have written earlier, but as it looks Anet doesn’t care about this and that sadly already since game release, that they players get privacy…

Or they care, but are so loaded with other things to do, that they simply have no time at all to work on a solution fior this…
However, both are answers, which we most likely will never get to hear here from a responsible dev…

I agree that, unfortunately, either one of those is the possible answer. I was hoping with the AMA that the devs would be more open about what’s going on and be more active in the forums, actually talking to people about what they think rather than going off on a random tangent. Turns out that nothing seems to have changed apart from the staff.

That being said, I would be absolutely overjoyed if a dev commented – either with an outright yes, or an outright no. Having an “it’s on the table” response is an absolute load. We’re not talking about pretty outfits or adding content. We’re talking about minimalizing harassment in this game for everyone, while removing yet another avenue for gold sellers to reach out to people.

At this point in time I’m more than happy to keep necroing this thread so the devs see that I’m actually serious about getting changes implemented. I don’t care how long it takes, but I’m definitely not paying them with my hard-earned cash money as much as I used to.

Everyone’s opinion has value.

I simply believe that our rules against harassment encompass this sort of situation, where there’s no legitimate reason to shout spoilers in game and that the only motivation would seem to be a desire to cause distress to others. That would seems to make such activities reportable offenses that our CS agents will analyze and react to, as appropriate. (And let’s be clear, this was not a conversation, this was merely one person trying his/her best to spoil the movie for as many players a possible. Some sort of warped sense of power, perhaps? Who knows??)

This is yet another situation where my suggestion for being *pro*active and actually having privacy settings included in the game could potentially help, yet it’s been swept under the rug while I continually get spammed with gold sellers.

But it will mean more ppl will buy them since they know they will get the dye they want. Currently many like me who want them, just don’t bother due to the silly rng. The dye kits do not have a long term shelf life anyway due to being in the store for limited period. It doesn’t matter if ppl complete their sets if more people are buying more kits.

Improving the chances of getting an exclusive dye will only improve direct sales.

False, imo.
I’m pretty sure more people will buy those if it’d be guaranteed to get something worthwhile out of them. Right now they’re just not worth the investment, your chance of getting something worthwhile isn’t even all that high

If I know that I could get the remainder of the dyes I need every time I opened one kit, I’d buy them in an instant. Then I wouldn’t buy any more. You see the problem there? By making it RNG they increase sales in the long run. What OP is suggesting will increase them for the very short term, with long dry periods in the middle.

May as well ask them to do the same for the black lion chest skins. That’s not gonna happen either.

You spend half your post agreeing with the fact that I was right. Then I’m an entitled brat? You have a very weird perspective** on entitlement.

I could care less about people spoiling stuff left and right, I know people can be jerks. Doesn’t mean I have to walk around defending it or being okay with it.

(Fixed that as well for you)

One sentence = half my post? There’s something incredibly wrong with your maths.

I’m not defending the fact that people are kittens. I’m saying that instead of putting up with it you have many options to actually deal with it!

I feel like we’re going around in circles. Listen, you use the resources to actually stop seeing people being kittens, and you’ll see less kittens. A child could understand that. If you can’t then I’m sorry, but there’s nothing else I can do to even try to help your poor entitled soul. Good luck.

So freedom of speach, which is essentially the freedom not to get presecuted by your government or censorship, is also a freebee to be be a troll towards fellow players.

No one is saying you aren’t allowed to spoil stuff ingame. It’s simply a kitten move and justifying it with the basic right to do it, shows only how little people think of their fellow players.

Then later, people complain why the community is going down the drain. There might be a correlation…

Also having entitled kittens wanting everyone to drop everything and shut up would have a correlation to the community going down the drain.

What you’re asking is akin to this:

I don’t want my house broken into. Therefore I take the appropriate measures to keep it as secure as I possibly can whenever I’m out. If I get broken into that’s not entirely my fault, because I have taken all the steps I can to stop the break in. It’s not my fault.

You don’t want your house broken into, yet you’re leaving the front door wide open, the curtains pulled back with that huge LCD screen on display. That looks pretty inviting to a robber, so they come inside your completely unlocked house and steal the TV. You didn’t take the precautions that you could to stop the break in. That’s your fault. But on top of that, then you go to the court and demand that all thieves be told not to steal.

You don’t want spoilers? Here’s a suggestion. Use the resources available to NOT hear spoilers. It’s not that kitten hard! It’s in fact very very easy!

I’d also like this done with the Nightfury shoulders. Why do it for only one of these types of shoulders?

Wow, the Norn female styles look like a complete cop-out. It’s pretty much the same style with slightly different bangs and band decorations. The base style is nice, but we didn’t need three of it.

This is how I feel towards the last batch of new “faces” we got in the total makeover kits. It’s the exact same face (in most cases), but with different make-up or effects. It’s stupid.

If I’ve seen a movie that I liked, I’ll want to talk about it. It’s not my fault that someone else is the one who doesn’t want spoilers.

You can want to talk about it all you want, doesn’t mean you should, you don’t have more right to talk than someone else has to peace and quiet.

Talk about it in guild chat, in local chat, in real life but if you broadcast in map chat and someone asks you to not talk about it, you should stop talking.

Uh, yeah…actually…people do have more of a right to talk than you have to keep them silent. At least in America…

So..uh…good luck with that logic.

If you are such a tender little soul, and you know that you will be bothered by spoilers, take precautions against them yourself. Turn off chat right after something comes out if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, or even go see the movie sooner. Whatever you need to do. It is not the job of any community to censor themselves because you’re a big baby that cares that much about a “surprise” being “spoiled”.

That’s exactly it. If you have the capabilites (and you most certainly do, at least in-game, which is what’s being whined about) to be proactive to stop the spoilers from getting through to yourself, then USE THEM.

LOL people commenting you should stop using the internet if you don’t want spoilers… how sensible. Maybe people just need to stop living if they don’t want spoilers too?

If I’ve seen a movie that I liked, I’ll want to talk about it. It’s not my fault that someone else is the one who doesn’t want spoilers. Have some common sense. Of course people are going to talk about it, and that’s not their problem. If the person with the issue has options to stop seeing potential spoilers, then utilise them and quit whining. There are more than enough options in-game for that already.

So titling your lfgs which people who want to participate in group content can’t ignore constitutes as “talking about a movie you like”?

Randomly droping spoilers out of context in map chat to anoy people is a meaningful disscussion?

If you are trolling, then at least have the decency to call it by that name and don;t try selling people crap for roses.

If you are spoiling this movie 1 day after it’scinematic release, you are an kitten . There is no arguing around that. It’s called common courtesy towards your fellow players. You might want to pick some of that up eventually.

Wow I do not see where this hostility is coming from. I have not seen the movie, nor do I intend to. I have not dropped any spoilers, nor am I trying to “sell people crap for roses”.

You can want to talk about it all you want, doesn’t mean you should, you don’t have more right to talk than someone else has to peace and quiet.

You may have the right to peace and quiet as much as I have the right to freedom of speech. That’s called an impasse, except for me, I won’t shut up just because some idiot decides to demand quiet instead of turning off map chat which is VERY easily doable.

If you cannot be bothered to turn off chat/s because you want spoilers, then it’s your fault if they get spoiled.
