Why not just a “consume all” feature for tomes? You get the exact same effect without messing with anything but adding a feature to an item that already exists in game.

Gliding and Territories in WvW

I hate it , ppl can take camp and glide in ow , make it harder to take other server tower ,
server wp back to keep and glide into tower with sieges already build ,
before we were able to stop them from going in
maybe its fun for new player , but ppl who’s been playing wvw for years hate it

So they are developing new tactics because of a new mechanic introduced, sounds like players are adapting very well to the addition of gliding. Now the other sides need to develop tactics to counter the glide in defense. Sounds again like working as intended.

I saw Livia using Fragility in the story insances. That’s an old Guild Wars 1 mesmer hex, which is interesting because she’s dressed like a guardian, casting mesmer spells, while was originally a necromancer. She’s just that pro.

Got to remember GW1 armor wasn’t weight based and prof wise you could run two at a time.

The GW1 dervish won’t ever come to GW2 as it is too Human God focused. The mechanics, to an extent have been worked into current GW2 classes, can’t think of which, but unless they changed the lore behind the dervish (would kitten a lot of people off most likely) the class won’t make it into game.

let's talk pips

While in make sure to use xp boosters, the guild rank booster (presuming your guild has it), and tag as much as possible. Getting your rank up to get the extra pips will help. The more you contribute the more chance you can help your server stay out of last place to gain as many pips as possible.

If possible you could also try to run during off hours to find a map with the outnumbered buff.

I’m only in the mid 200s for rank so I get your pip pain but I like how the pip system currently works and hope they don’t change it.

PiP System Not Equal For All Players

in WvW

Mist.6217

Take this into consideration. Running around in a blob grinding for ppt you get a lot more pips then running around as a small group or lower populated blob and getting ran over by the bigger blob and can’t take any towers or anything cuz the other blob runs you down. When you have servers that have full squad + blobs on every map against servers that can barely fill a squad on one map then it becomes unbalanced. And anet keeps putting these big blobby servers against lower populated servers. Its almost as if they want the bigger server to ultimately dominate the other ones. Its the same thing every week. Anet pins a blob server against 2 smaller servers. they know what’s going to happen they can’t be that clueless about the game.

The only extra pip you get from ppt is what rank your server is for the skirmish, so what 1-2 extra? That is very game breaking right there… On the flip of that though that server is last place might be getting the outnumbered buff giving them as many or more pips then the winning server so it evens out. There is literally no difference between them outside of how quickly the pip tracks are finished. Once you finish the final tier you don’t gain extra tickets so ALL players regardless of server/rank are capped at 175 if they so choose to try to finish all tiers each week.

PiP System Not Equal For All Players

in WvW

Mist.6217

Currently the pip system rewards those that run around in 50+ man blobs. And those that do not have high populations get punished by not rewarding as many pips as the blobs. Roamers get even more punished for not blobbing. The only way to get outnumbered extra pip is erroneous cuz of the requirements in order to be outnumbered.
why does anet continue to reward bad gameplay and blobbing and punish those that choose not to blob?
And before its said, “this is a group oriented game” It is also played by players that choose not to group up and to cater to only the blobbers is unfair to the rest.

I’ve roamed and run with my guild and gain t3 participation just slightly faster in the group but I’m not the best roamer. There isn’t any bonus to running in a blob or not once you hit that t3 participation and start earning your pips.

Not aimed at you but everyone complaining about the new system are being very silly. It is LESS than a week old and the amount of “omg X pip gain is unbalanced” is ridiculous. Give the system time to work and then post any issues with it, cause so far I haven’t noticed really any.

I wasn’t referring to how many pips you are rewarded for loyality, I was referring to how many pips and for how long you need to earn them to prove loyality.

Last statement was 100 pips (or all of wood) for 3 weeks.

Ah my bad misunderstood your statement. reading comp ftl lol.

There was a video stream recently with McKenna(sp?) where I believe it was stated they were going to drop it to 1 week to ‘earn’ the loyalty bonus pip but I will have to go back to the video and double check.

The only thing I’ve really seen that was confusing and didn’t get alot of communication about in the track is how many pips you needed for loyalty. Resetting of the track was broadcast pretty profusely as far as I remember, it even says in the summary on your ui how many days you have left to complete it.

If you look on the new menu showing you the pips there is a little tab just above the pips called ‘Legend’ it will tell you how all pips are gained and how many pips each item gives. I believe loyalty is 1 pip but not in-game to confirm right now.

I’m willing to bet in those 6 or so months that you changed your build, the reason you changed it was because of, balance patches, and figuring out what was best for you to run, in those WvW situations. The, WvW “Meta” builds are meta for a reason, and that is because they work for that scenario in WvW, be it roaming/group/zerg/commanding ect.

I’m getting sick of these, “1%” people posting, like, everyone is some expert on WvW, no, people run Meta builds in WvW, a VERY few groups/guilds run off-meta builds, and that is purely so they have synergy with the group/guilds dynamic not because they’re some revolutionary player who sails above the rest, rofl…

Go and look at the top meta builds for WvW and tell me how many of them actually have different stats, very few.

You’d be wrong and lose that bet, but sure automatically group those that disagree with you as some “1%er” group makes your argument look foolish. The guild I’m in doesn’t use any meta build because most are focused around using Epi which is basically just a crutch for those that can’t handle equally skilled groups (purely my opinion).

Wish we had this law in NA and Europe.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Mist.6217

China can make laws like that because they literally control the internet there, meaning they could easily disable access to specific servers baring companies from business. The US does not control the internet, no matter how much both side of Congress would like to, so they really have no legal way to force a company to provide private proprietary data. The EU is a different beast since it is a binding of multiple nation so they have to get the law passed in each nation, as they don’t control the internet as well.

All in all it is a really stupid idea but hey change the stats at the start of the month and what the drop rate was for the month at the month, simple way for the law to be bypassed.

Please tell me how many different builds there are that people actually make use of in WvW, once you’ve learned what build they’re using, and with any bit of experience fighting in WvW, your going to know their rotation, their “Heavy hitters”, and what can be avoid and what doesn’t matter if your hit with or not. The only thing that changes is if the person is good or bad, if they’re good, you can count on the fight being well, “Good”, you understand what they’re capable of, and address them as such while fighting, but if they’re bad, well, wake me when it’s over.

I’ve only been playing WvW seriously since December of last year, so around 6 months. In that time I’ve changed my build at least 6-10 times across the 4 classes I have running WvW builds and my guild isn’t one of those ‘super serious’ guilds.

Tell me how many times do raiders change their builds across multiple class once the boss mechanics are known and strategies on how to beat are known? Gonna take a shot in the dark and say FAR closer to the number 0 than the amount a WvWer changes their builds.

grind

Whether you like doing said actions or not has no bearing on whether or not if it’s a grind mate.

If you believe that than everything, be it real life or video games, are grinding which is not the case. But from your other post there is no point explaining further. Have a good one.

again….who is saying I hated grinding?

We’ll break it down Barney style for you mate – first off this is a hypothetical situation aka it may or may not be true – lets say a player really dislikes the amount of work it takes to make a legendary whereas another player does not mind putting forth the effort. Are the players’ actions of making the legndary a grind or no? [/quote]

No where did I say you hated grinding but saying EVERYTHING is grind is untrue. In your example player A likes it and works toward their goal of a legendary, player B doesn’t like it so they don’t since having one isn’t necessary (unless they feel like they must for the achievement). Working towards a goal is not grinding, doing the exact same thing over and over and over is. There is the difference. Now one could grind as a way to work on that goal if they wanted it done faster but one does NOT have to grind to complete their goals.

You seem to feel playing the game is grinding while I play to have fun and enjoy my time. If my goals are completed while doing that good, if not they take a little longer so be it.

Oh you absolutely need leyline gliding to even begin thinking about gliding didn’t you read that in the earlier post? Mate spending hours doing the same repetitive things for minimal xp is still grinding, it doesn’t matter whether you like doing it or not.

That’s some serious denial mate. Why did your bum get so hurt when I simply pointed out how the hot expac isn’t living up to expectations?

If one is in a zone playing and having fun AND earning XP towards the next tier of whatever track they are leveling. That person would not be grinding. Now if they were sat in the same area farming the events and mobs there then they would be grinding.

Playing in the whole zone, or any of the HoT maps, could not be considered grinding as they are actively finding new activities to do, regardless if said activities had been done in the past.

Passing the torch: from dwarves to sylvari

  1. Are you kidding? The Sylvari are plants, Mordremoth is a plant dragon. Jormag is an ice dragon does that make everything ice automatically its minion? Your logic failed with that first statement.
  2. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fighting_the_Nightmare
  3. Please read the post from Tamias again. There are two different sets of dragon minions fighting each other and there are no hybrids. Will go back and check but as I said I haven’t seen anything regarding it before, in game or out.
  4. The seeds must have a strong magical origin. They are not natural and they are not the source of the Dream, which is a part of all Sylvari. Tyria is a world with magic. Finding magical seeds is probably more common than one would think, remember all the plant monsters from GW1? Gonna take a shot in the dark and say they reproduced similar to all other plants in the world.
Emotions can’t corrupt you. The Nightmare can. It is using the negative emotions but the emotions are not the origin of the Nightmare. Emotions can easily corrupt someone. If they are willing to let that emotion drive their every action they are corrupted by it and have let logic and morals go in place of those emotions.
  5. The Nightmare Court has fallen for the Nightmare. They can’t escape, even if the would want to. They are both influenced and influencing the Nightmare, and through that, the Dream. All other Sylvari are influenced by the Dream same as they are influenced through emotions. Unproven statement no Sylvari to our knowledge has tried to escape the Nightmare. If it possible or not however it still isn’t a form of corruptions, as members of the Court still have free will in what they do, as in some choose to be nice about getting more Sylvari to join while others kidnap and torture others and force them into the Court.
  6. And the Sylvari are too since they are connected to the Dream and they can’t chose to be not connected with it until they “unplug” themselves. The Soundless unplug themselves. Yes they have to maintain their meditation to stay ‘unplugged’ but they are ‘unplugged’.
  7. Or he is just not connected with the Dream of the other Tree. That is an assumption. He knew nothing of the Dream meaning either his tree doesn’t have a connection to the Dream or he somehow lost his connection to it before awakening.
The Dream isn’t established by the Tree, the Dream has to have a greater source. This source has to be more powerful than the Tree to maintain the Dream and keep the connection to all Sylvari. The Dream is in the Mist, from my understanding, NO dragon that we know of has the ability to enter the Mist, though Jormag has made attempts through the SoS.

  1. Other words for the same meaning. There is a difference, and a large one, between a forest and a jungle. The only similarity is they both have trees in one form or another. (A tree in a northern forest would have a heck of a time trying to grow in a southern jungle.)
  2. It was the Nightmare who compromised the Dream and the Nightmare has chosen to appear in the form of a dragon. You are right that it’s the sign for our character to fight the dragons but that doesn’t imply that it’s not Mordremoth’s influence who is controlling the Nightmare. No the dragon in the PC’s dream instance is the Dream showing the PC it’s Wyld Hunt. The dragon has nothing to do with the Nightmare before the Nightmare takes it and tries to use it for it’s own purpose.
  3. As Tamias already pointed out: Under normal circumstances no being will be corrupted twice. Under current circumstances. We haven’t really seem an instance where two different sets of Dragon minions have run into each other.
  4. That’s why I’ve said multiple times now that we should take an obsessed Sylvari to the altar to test it. However, in my mind, the Sylvari are created by the Pale Tree, who is created by the dragon. So, the Sylvari are dragon minions. The Dream is a tool to corrupt and control the Sylvari and the Nightmare is the corruption. There is zero evidence that a dragon created the Pale Tree’s seed. For all we know of it, it was just in a cave protected by aggressive plants (There were a lot of those in GW1 that had zero connection to dragons.) The Nightmare isn’t a corruption it is the negative side of the Dream, same coin two sides. They feel that the tablet ‘corrupted’ the true nature of the Sylvari to what is common, vs the Nightmare which is the exception.
  5. The Nightmare Court is using those “bad” feelings to drive Sylvari into the Nightmare, yet it is not the origin of the Nightmare. If a Sylvari has once fallen for the Nightmare he can’t escape. That’s not how emotions work. *The first to go to the Nightmare, Cadeyrn, started it because he was jealous of all the attention the First born’s got and the fact he didn’t get all he wanted (in a basic sense) that is pretty emotionally based to me. Here from the wiki “The Nightmare Court was founded by the Secondborn Cadeyrn after a number of events, such as Niamh’s refusal to dispatch of krait younglings and the refusal of the Firstborn to seek revenge on the asura for their treatment of Malomedies, convinced him that the Ventari Tablet was holding the Sylvari back and that if the Sylvari were truly to defeat the Elder Dragons, they would have to use any means necessary.” *
  6. The Sylvari can’t re-access the Dream and they aren’t meant to do so. However, all the things they’ve experienced are getting “uploaded”. They don’t have any control over the information shared with the Dream. Their only way to cut this connection is to “unplug” themselves, which requires a lot of fortitude. They aren’t meant to leave the Dream and they aren’t meant to control the Dream, yet they can be influenced through the Dream. A perfect tool to control someones actions, don’t you think so? It only influences them during their time in it. Other than Wyld Hunts it doesn’t ‘control’ them once they are awaken, unless I missed some bit of information some where.
  7. Havrouns are blessed by the spirits to accommodate the wishes of the spirits. So why are Sylvari “blessed” with their forced connection to the Dream? They aren’t blessed the Pale Tree is, hence why a tree has been personified. The Sylvari are her fruit.
  8. Malyck is from another Tree and it is very little known about him. Also, there are many inconsistencies with his person, such as, why he looks like any other Sylvari if it’s stated that the Pale Tree created the Sylvari by the design of humans. True little is known other than he is a Sylvari, acts with morals like the Dream Sylvari (not the Nightmare), and has no memory of the Dream. All that means is his tree’s seed could have come from the same cave where the Pale Tree’s seed came from but didn’t get a magical connection to the Mist, through the Dream, that the Pale Tree did.

Passing the torch: from dwarves to sylvari

in Lore

Mist.6217

Why do I think that Sylvari are dragonminions?

  1. Sylvari = Forest not Wood People if you use the meaning of the base of their name Sylva, Mordremoth = Jungle not Wood Dragon
  2. In the Sylvari story prologue, you have to fight the nightmare, in the form of a dragon. The dragon is the PC’s Wyld Hunt being shown to them in the Dream.
  3. Sylvari can’t be corrupted. So they are either immune or already a dragon minion. There is nothing that says dragon minions can’t be corrupted by other dragons, CoE is an example thought it was the Inquest that used the corruption not the dragons themselves.
  4. The Dream is like the Matrix: All Sylvari are connected to it but no one knows the source or the reason for existence of the Dream.
  5. The Pale Tree has no natural source: We don’t know where the seeds are coming from but it has to be a strong (magical) source to being able to create a whole new species
  6. The Nightmare behaves like the corruption does: Once you’ve fallen to the Nightmare, you can’t escape. The Forgotten ritual shows corruption can be removed, though in only one known way. While a member of the Nightmare hasn’t been put through the ritual yet there is no way of knowing if that would be removed as well, though it is doubtful IMO as it isn’t a form of dragon corruptions.
  7. The Nightmare is a part of the Dream, so it’s most likely that the Nightmare was it’s actual appointment. To clarify: The reason for the Pale Tree to fight the Dragons it has sensed is Ventari’s Tablet. If Ventari’s teachings are the reason for the Dream behaving like it does right now, what is the reason for the Nightmare to exist? There will always be two sides in a society, good and evil. There is no escaping that. Ventari’s tablet doesn’t make one inherently ‘good’ it just provides a moral foundation for those that follow it’s teachings.
  8. The Dream is neither established nor controlled by the Pale Tree; something more powerful has to be the source. And what is more powerful than the hive? The master of the hive. Probably an elder dragon named Mordremoth. Sylvari aren’t a hive though, and neither is the dream. Awakened Sylvari can’t re-access the Dream to see what other awakened Sylvari are experience, other than the Pale Tree herself granting them access.
  9. Simply the evolution: The Dream isn’t necessary for the Sylvari to survive. So why does it exist? I would say it exists for the same reason Norn Havrouns have access to the Mists, as a way to be guided toward their fate or destiny. Of all the known dragons none have access to the Mist outside the Norn PS where the Wolf Havroun is pinned between our world and Mist after he opened a portal.
And why are all Sylvari connected to the Dream by default? Probably to control them.
  10. Why would Scarlet wake the elder dragons? The only reason is that Ceara was commanded to wake the dragon. All Sylvari are NOT connected to the Dream, shown by Malyck.

Responded to the ones I knew in Bold and considering I am not as knowledgeable as some here in the Lore Forum, your points don’t hold in a debate on the issues. Now some of what I wrote could be wrong but it is based on what I have read and seen of the lore.

It’s not a fact but there are many points which count for this theory and, as far as I know, none against it.
And who said that dragon minions are fanatic for their master? They are mindcontrolled. Mordremoth is asleep, so he is unable to control anyone and the Sylvari are unaware of their origin.

Just curious what points point towards them being minions, cause I haven’t seen any in game or out.

The whole immune to all known dragon corruption is also a large point against them as minions, though that is just know corruption.

Which begs the question, what does a plant look like that’s been corrupted by a plant dragon. A dead body corrupted by Zhaitan is still a dead body after all (just more talkative and mobile).

If it is anything like Jormag’s corruption or Kralkatorrik’s corruption there will be some signs that show what ever is corrupted is different then the non-corrupted version.

Ah…that example about Zhaitan and the PC is more of something that I wanted to bring up from my observation that Konig seems to be staunchly opposed (or at least evasive) to the idea of the dragons gaining knowledge through their minions, regardless of what type of knowledge that is. And not about the dragon’s methods of corruption. I think it’s my mistake that I italicized that last part from his quote. The two paragraphs are separate ideas (first one is on the knowledge minion thing, and the second is on the similarities of dragon corruption). I hope this clarifies that.

Okay did misunderstand your points thanks for the clarification.

This is a very interesting read, and sure is still worth pondering on as an alternative possibility to the Living World’s direction. I was personally absent for the most part of the last Living World story, so I’ll mostly stick to observing and taking in everyone’s points. However, there is one part in the discussion that bothered me a bit.

Also, anything that has the ability to take the mind of a victim, would easily be able to gain the victims knowledge. So knowledge of modern technology doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Yet no two Elder Dragon corrupt in the same fashion. And Jormag does the mental stuff.

Jormag isn’t the only dragon who did the ‘mental stuff’.

If you go back to the events of the personal story, during the fight with the Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan at the Artesian Waters, at some point, if you pay attention to what the characters say, the Eye will try to use your despair over your mentor’s loss to give in to the Dragon. (In my case, since I am from the Priory, his dialogue went along the lines of: “I see in your heart that you have lost someone to Zhaitan. Someone named…Sieran. She is waiting for you now, beneath the dragon’s wings… " ) Now, neither the Eye nor Zhaitan himself was present during the times you were with your mentor or at the Battle of Claw Island (where your mentor dies). But a ton of his minions were. From this alone, we can already draw the most logical answer to the question of how Zhaitan could ever know about your sorrows: that he got this knowledge from his minions and/or his victims.

I’m also a bit confused by your statement that no two dragons corrupt in the same fashion. If you mean it by the elements and the resulting creatures, then yes, indeed they don’t. If by “fashion” you mean the methods they employ to corrupt things and beings, it’s a bit arguable. Jormag corrupted through his minions. Zhaitan raised hundreds of undead to do his bidding. Kralkatorrik can seemingly corrupt with his very breath. We’ve yet to see Mordremoth’s, DSD’s, and Primordius’ since they hardly have any presence in the current observable world. But if you analyze the ones that we do see, on a basic level, it’s pretty much the same. The very essence of the dragons (Draconic Energy?)—their presence, alone, can corrupt everything they touch. Coming in direct contact with the Sanguinary Blade drove Steag Frostbeard insane, just like that relic Kellach recovered from the Ruins of Orr corrupted him and drove him crazy.

Unless I completely misunderstood what you meant by that statement, then it would be nice if you could clarify it some more.

Zhaitan wasn’t trying to corrupt the PC using the mind, like Jormag does, it was trying to convince the PC that joining it would reunite the PC with whichever mentor they had, in the Priory’s case an impossibility as Sylari can’t be corrupted by Zhaitan. While it was a mind game Zhaitan was playing it isn’t how it corrupts.

In Sea of Sorrows a similar event takes place where one dies and becomes corrupted and then tries to convince the other to join them as a servant of Zhaitan, meaning the second would need to die to become a full servant.

Why not Omadd?

Fafnir.5124:Well it was explained pale tree put up mental barriers to prevent her children being corrupted. You get corrupted you die. Omadd machine disabled the barriers which then allowed Scarlet to be corrupted.

Where does it say the Pale Tree is the one that put the Sylari anti-corruption defenses in place? I don’t remember ever reading or seeing anything related to that so the link to prove that would be nice, I’m more than happy to admit if I am mistaken but I just don’t remember anything along those lines ever being stated.

Why not Omadd?

I’m curious if you have examples of ice related creatures that are not under control of Jormag? It is not a silly assumption that a master of something would be able to more easily corrupt things of the same nature as its specialty.

If you understand the inner workings of plants and have done for millenia then you’re gonna have a shorter route to controlling them should you wish to.

Yes look at all the different Ice Wurm, Ice Elemental, and Ice Imps. They are ice creatures that aren’t under Jormag’s control. Like I said, from my understanding of the elder dragons, they don’t care what they corrupt. They corrupt anything that will make getting magic easier/faster.

Just because the dragon is given a specific element doesn’t mean that everything that is some what related to that is easier to corrupt. IMO the dragons will try to corrupt anything and everything that will help it feed on magic or help defend it, the strongest of the corrupted undead were kept close while the weaker were sent out collecting magical artifacts.

If Mordremoth has the power of plants, then it makes sense that Sylvari are in someway inexplicably linked to his power simply by their very nature as a plant. They are plants, he has dominion over plants.

Omadd is not a plant… Mordremoth is not an asura based dragon. God knows what that would look like.

I’m sorry but that is a silly assumption. Jormag is the dragon of ice but not all ice related creatures fall into its base control or are even linked to it. From what I have seen in game dragons don’t care what they are corrupting as long as they can corrupt it, Sylvari being immune to those known corruptions.

Has Anet even announced when season 2 will start? I was under the impression they hadn’t yet decided when it would start.

If they don’t give us race change I’ll just go back to TERA

Just a personal opinion but threatening to leave if a feature isn’t added probably isn’t the best way to get it added.

There is a big difference. I am not imposing my opinion, I am stating it.

Let’s not forget that the game in the EU has a PEGI 12 rating. When the highest tier armor looks like that, what kind of message is being sent to those kids?

You’re trying to impose it by asking for a change to the armor. As others have said ask for additional armor not changes to current armor, this would be the more appropriate course of action if you didn’t want to impose your opinion.

As for the rating take that up with those that provide the rating. Your opinion and my opinion won’t affect said rating. Also if you have seen any of the junk celebrities wear and are blasted all over the internet and TV that armor set is very mild in comparison.

1) Introducing such tasteless high end armor piece should have never been done in the first place.
2) But the armor is here and many people have it. I am not saying it should be removed. I want a second option for the chest piece so that players that do not want trashy characters could still use the tier 3 armor.
3) I also want the equal amount of design energy to be spent on the medium armors as it is done on the light and heavy ones.
4) I am not enforcing my values to anyone, but when random people call me prude for stating the obvious, I must defend myself. There is no situation in life where a female purposely wearing an outfit showing underboob that can be called tastefull.

The two bolded part directly contradict each other. You and few others in this thread claim it is tasteless and should be changed while more posters in this thread have claimed otherwise. Therefore you want Anet to change the armor based on your belief that it is tasteless. The last part of #4 is also a matter of opinion.
Point 2 will not happen, in my opinion, for the foreseeable future since they would also have to add a similar item to each tier of every race, otherwise they show favoritism which wouldn’t go over very well.
Point 3 I agree on the majority of med armor is simply some form of trench coat and they could be done better.

If Orr is ever cured, who will inhabit it?

@Korsbaek- It wouldn’t matter if he gave permission or not. The action would be mine, my choice to do it. Him giving permission would be a direct act of treason, depending on circumstances, which in most cases would nullify his choice before it was made. If then I still went through with it, in one of the cases that would be treasonous, I would still be the cause because his choice again goes against the ‘right’ choice.

Blaming the leader for the actions of one, regardless of that one’s position, is bad logic. If the King gave him permission to look but did not give permission to do anything without further approval Kilborn would be at full fault for his actions. Now if the King agreed with Kilborn that it may help without knowledge of what it would do to Orr than yes the King would share blame. Based of the wiki and Narcemus’s post Kilborn had permission to enter but NOT use the text. That means the King did NOT provide him permission to act and his action, while in possibly good faith to defeat the Charr, was an act of treason for not gain permission to do so first.

it is still my fault he is able to use it as i did not have enough secourty there then and haveing stuff that can destroy so much land i would say it is my fault its true its in a diffrent way my fault then but that does still not change its my fault.

So it’s the King’s fault that he had his troops fighting the Charr rather than guarding the tombs where there was no threat from attack? Sorry but that logic, or lack of, is very very poor at the best. Blaming the King, and in turn the Orrian people, for the actions of an individual in the destruction of Orr is an argument without fact or logic. That would be like me setting a nuke off in the US then blaming the president for the destruction of the US. See the lack of logic in that argument?

Again I may have missed something but was Kilborn actually authorized by the King to go in the tomb to search for something that would help or did he do it all on his own as the wiki text would suggest?

@Korsbaek- Think of it this way. If you were the King and I was the adviser. I say there could be something down in the vault that could save the kingdom and ask to look, would you say no? Then I find something but rather than tell you I take it and try to use it with an end result of destroying everything. Is that still your fault even though I didn’t tell you I had plans to use it with or without your permission?

Now I could be wrong but I don’t think Kilborn got permission, if you look at the GW wiki it says he looked through the texts in panic then stole it from Arah which doesn’t sound like he got permission at all but can’t necessarily take wiki at face value all the time.

I can agree with that unless someone could prove without any doubt, which would be very hard, that they and their family were of Orrian decent. While I do think Orr, once inhabitable again, should be given to Humans on the simple fact that it is without a doubt their origin on Tyria. I also feel it should be done in a way to satisfy all parties involved, which include all three Orders and all five races.

Clearly words don’t mean what you think they mean. I went with the parameters you set. Then You descided it wasn’t good enough. me pointing that out isn’t nit picking. It is pointing out how your written communication contradicts itself. if you didn’t mean what you actually wrote, then stop trying to defend it and stop lieing about what you actually said. because I can only go by what you actually said.

Okay just for you I will clarify my position on your comparison. It is bad because the only way to make it even close would be to claim Zhitan salvaged, i.e ‘private party’, then the Pact took it, i.e. ‘third party’, and a possibly Kryta would want to claim it as another Human nation but the Pact will decide what is done with it. However your comparison is only with two parties, salvage group and group that wants the item, i.e a country. Since the only way to make your comparison viable would be to introduce a third party that didn’t want the item but wanted to get rid of the ‘salvage team’ because the team was killing thousands of people the comparison still fails.

Now I will apologize for not clearly stating my position earlier and accept that it did leave too much room for clarification on the matter. A slightly better, but not by much, would be allies retaking countries during WW2 or during this latest wars in the Middle East. However the issue with them in comparison is that the countries still existed but had the governments in exile vs Orr which was destroyed with the only survivors having not been there at the time.
