I would rather the official forums get more communication then some off site like twitter or reddit. Makes no sense to me.
I have a gw2 account, so I have a gw2 forums account. I do not use REDDIT or TWITTER. Why should I get less information and communications about this game.
Its like having an official email list and then post a flier on a door or something to tell students about an assignment.
This. So much this. So amazingly much this. Except the flier is posted on the bathroom door in the office building next door. So you only get to see it if you work there.

How is this a thing? Someone on team disconnects and comes back after a couple minutes and you play the game and win..but your match gets counted as a forfeit and you lose pips.
Why does the system already decide it’s a forfeit before the game even ends. So everyone in game plays the game til the end, thinking all is well even though the game was already over.
This is just stupid. Either wait til the game is ACTUALLY OVER to decide if it’s win/lose or kick everyone out of the game the second it’s already decided so they can re-queue. Or just give a penalty for the disconnecting player instead of his whole team. (Even though some disconnects are not intentional, but it’s even more unfair to penalize the whole team)

First of all. Do you have that first screenshot of the big vine guy hovering over the heroes as a wallpaper resolution? I’ve been wanting it SOOOO BADDDDD since I saw the trailer for the first time but I can’t find a good one.
And yeah, I was also quit dissapointed TBH that we didn’t get to see him in-game. The trailer had me really hyped for that specific fight. Not that Dragon Stand isn’t a great substitute, but I just hoped we’d fight that big thing also

In your whole rant, I can’t find any specific argument or aspect of the game you don’t like. All you say is that you don’t enjoy it adn the game is no fun anymore…Why? What don’t you like?
The closest thing to an aspect of the game you mention is that since HoT everything is a rush. And to this I say the same thing I say to everyone complaining about HoT being grindy/farmy. That’s YOUR problem. Most of the new content (legy crafting, masteries, specializations etc) can be unlocked by playing the entire content of the game. You don’t have to repeat a single part of the game until the end of time to unlock it. And also you don’t have to do it in a week.
IMO, HoT gave me a LOT of end-game content. I now have a LOT to do in game and I will take my sweet time doing it, ensuring that I’ll still be playing months from now on the same content instead of crying about the game being grindy and farmy now and then crying about having no end-game content next month…

I love the action camera and I think it all really comes down to taste. However I still am not entirely used to it for PvP purposes. Ground targeting is still a bit hard with the action camera and proper targeting also (since you gotta look at where you target ground, or always look at the enemy target).
So from my experience, during fast-paced combat the action camera feels a bit lacking., however I’ve grown used to switching back and forth between modes depending on what I need. (although I do mess it up sometimes)
Weird, to me its the complete opposite. I feel it’s very clunky with tab target vs crosshair in regards of pvp. Yeah maybe it is a matter of taste.. I’m just worried that I started playing this game for nothing if crosshairs puts some sort of handicap vs tabs.
I’m sure it’s a matter of taste and experience. I just find that using tab targeting I can be sure that I’ve always gotten 1 person targeted whereas if I use the action camera, I worry I will switch target depending on who I look at at a given time, which can change fast in a group fight.

Good lord, people…
Jesseii floated an idea, the idea should be criticized on its merits (or lack thereof), not perceived motivation for voicing said idea.
His idea is bad because it derails the game’s story in order to promote a subculture that exists in the real world. Most players don’t care about it in game as we came here to slay dragons not fight for political correctness.
Thank you!

“3 legendary weapons will ship with expansion, rest will come later?”
Stop delaying the content, release it or don’t promise things that you can’t make, we’ve waited 14 days already, Tyrian Gods know how much longer we will have to wait for other legendarys to be released, 3 months, 6? 1 year?.By now you should have holidays, getting some rest to be fresh and ready for new planing of next GW2 expansion, and not working on things that should be shipped with HoT. Will that bring another 3 year delay before we get new content?
Because it took 14 days you’re thinking it will take up to a year for new stuff? That escalated quickly!

As Draknar rightly said, before HoT you had two options – grind for gold or… well, one option really, because gambling on the Mystic Toilet for many players meant buying cheap exotics on the TP. But let’s call it two options, for the sake of argument – grind for gold or gamble on chucking stuff down the Toilet.
Now you have a third option. It may well ultimately be less efficient / more expensive to accumulate materials & craft than it is to accumulate, sell, and buy. But that’s not the point, is it? For very many players having a leggie is not terribly important (over 6,000 hours, no precursor, leggie is a very small improvement over an 80 exotic, couldn’t care less; I’d play with a player who knows what they’re doing than some clueless idiot with maxed gear & a dozen leggies).
How is that “not the point”? How is just dumping all your accumulated materials on the craft system different from dumping all your accumulate materials on the TP? Except the TP doesn’t require you to revisit to click the same buttons every single day with artificial time gates as you can sell as much as you want at a time. Why would you want to take 10 times as long and spend more?
You can accumulate gold just like you accumulate materials – just don’t spend the gold just like you’re not spending the materials on actual ascended items. You can “accumulate” hundreds in gold/materials for precursors like you could before. Ask yourself, though, 6,000 hours and you don’t have a Legendary – why? Mine is I have a thousand other things I’d rather spend my gold/mats on rather than a single item. Legendaries were not worth the paywall before HoT, and they’re not worth the even larger “third” paywall now.
It’s not the point because believe it or not, some of us just like to craft it from scratch. To use in-game methods other than simply buying the things we need to obtain the things we want. It’s not for economical reasons. Just simply, we like it. And there is absolutely no point whatsoever to try and persuade everyone that it’s not fun and that we’re all crazy for taking the expensive route. It would be like someone explaining to you why your hobby is dumb and you should just do something else that would be time better spent. (Most of us have probably heard the one where people ask why do we spend our time playing video games while we could be getting a job, right?) We just like it; it’s a game and this is what we do for fun. We have real life for caring about our wallets!
V I C E V E R S A
Guys, can someone clear something up for me?
Is is it possible to do Precursor crafting without spending gold? Can I farm/craft all the mats needed myself? Cause that was the argument behind why it was so “good” by several players. What kittenes me off about Legendaries is that you not only have to wait a ton of time due to time-gated items, but you also have to spend ridiculous amounts of gold for things. Is the Precursor crafting alternative that much better?
No, you will need to spend some money for ascended mats you need from the crafting vendors. But other than that, you should be good. It does take time, and the ingredients are worth more than the final product on the TP. But if you’re like me and care more about the road to get there, then yes. It’s possible to just collect everything yourself. Just be prepared to be busy with it for a while
V I C E V E R S A
I like it. But then I also just take my sweet time enjoying all the new content. I’m not concerned about unlocking everything in 1 week like so many GW2 players who now call everything grindy.
The precursor crafting gives me stuff to do end-game for a long time. Isn’t that what we all wanted?
V I C E V E R S A
No. Just no. Rytlock and Logan what the hell are you smoking?
Personally the biggest complaint I had for LS2 was the forced in-your-face-lesbian-relationship part of the story. I love GW2 for the story, the lore, the gameplay and all that and I applaud the creators for including gay story lines and all that (I really don’t care for it at all but I’m a live & let live kinda guy).
However, they should refrain from forcing it into our faces. Yay for you that you accept and support gay relationships and whatnot, but no reason to force us all to play through it. The transgender thing in Lion’s arch is a good example…it’s there, but not in our faces.
And this is not just my view on gay relationships, I would also not like it to be forced to play through a straight relationship with all the loveydovey speak that marjory/kasmeer were puking on me during LS2.
They did it a lot better in HoT story luckily.
If you want more…as already pointed out, look for the fanfiction and leave the rest of us out of it. The game is a game. Not supposed to have an agenda of forcing acceptance on us.

The diversity in the Living World tab of the LFG tools is a clear indication that there needs to be more tabs.
I mean, the other tabs are highly specialized in an aspect of the game…Fractals, WVW..tab per individual dungeon even…
But living world gets used for:
world boss trains
taxis for ALL PVE maps in the whole game both offering and requesting
Special events (halloween/wintersday/etc)
Living world (this one is fine obviously)
selling jumping puzzles
Living world should be just for living world..possibly also with special events. But taxis/world bosses should at least get their own tab or a tab per map (though this might be too much..maybe the popular maps only?)
It’s very cluttered when looking for a good dragon stand map or AB map and scrolling through a long list of puzzle sellers and whatnot.
It needs a filter feature!
A filter you can customize? Like just tick on what maps you want to see or not? That’d be great! Maybe if I only want a AB map LFG/taxi, it will only pass my filter if party leader is in said map….or a taxi tab showing only options that are in the map you are currently in.

Better yet IMO, let the game randomly switch between the original and the new one. I really like the new one but it’s certainly not as iconic as the old one!
V I C E V E R S A
Hey guys!
This is just a suggestion but something I think would be pretty cool. Sorry if I didn’t necro an old post I couldn’t find.
The mega server thing is awesome. Love it on PVE maps such that they’re not empty all the time or that world bosses and LS bosses could not be completed in overflow due to low numbers etc.
However! What about having an ‘overflow-like’ system in Lion’s Arch and perhaps all other racial cities? Just to give us a chance to get on our ‘main and server only’ instance.
I’m thinking about this mostly cause I like to chill in LA from time to time and I like the people from my server to talk to (cause I know them from WvW for example). I don’t speak french very well or german or whatever other languages I’m sometimes thrown into if my own servers’ instance of LA is full.
Also I’m sure WvW servers would be more than happy to be able to spam their spam in server-only LA again
What do you think? Keep post alive if you like it :P

Smaller groups, if superior in tactics, can beat larger groups. You just gotta try and keep reviving also and avoid the main zerg. Usually big blobs don’t bother fighting a small group and if they do and you manage to keep them busy a while to kill you. Your allies have free reign on the map. It’s hard, but not impossible.
Also, removing PvD at the current stage would make it near impossible for an attacking group to take a defended tower. It’s already hard enough dealing with counter-trebs. And your average 30-40 man group attacking a well-defended t2+ tower will very easily run out of supplies (supply drain + having to place multiple rams/catas due to counter attacks). PvD is simply the best tactic vs counter-trebs. However I fear removing counter-trebs will severely work in the attackers favor who could then just blast a gate with 5 super rams without getting destroyed by a treb.
It’s a hard trade-off.

I killed the grub yesterday and got a whole 7!!!!!! badges. Best badges farming in EB!
V I C E V E R S A
1.) Can’t cast skills, shooting all over the place. Even the dollies are teleporting. Not to mention I can’t use trebs/mortars because the shooting spoolup is lagged out. Takes 3-5 seconds to enter towers/keeps. Even takes 3 seconds to use an AC…
2.) Piken Square
3.) No, everyone has it at the same time. (The whole time)
4.) No, EVERYONE has it at the same time.
5.) It started to be around primetime around 8pm server time and USUALLY died out after 11pm. However with each passing day this seems to be getting worse and worse. It is now past 1 am and the lag has been constant all night.
Please find a fix because this is a totally game-ruining experience now. It used to be a minor inconvenience, but it’s getting way, way worse. The delay in actions is getting larger and the duration is also getting much longer.
V I C E V E R S A
Based on the hype vs delivery of the previous feature blogs, I’d say it’s something along the lines of:
Better word censorship
Party invite now comes with the word ‘please’
A person being revived automatically says ‘ty’
Oh and free trait resets of course

The lack of holy trinity in GW2 is one of the main reasons I still play this game. The very instant they would bring holy trinity back, I will quit the game.

I would initially agree that the buff should remain visible to enemy players. If their argument would’ve been that they are angry that their commander is singled out then it’s no good because they could also single out the commander of the other team.
However consider the situation of a guild raid vs pug raid. Guilds often run without a commander tag and therefore the guild raid will have a pretty significant advantage over the PUG for being able to see the commander. Coupled together with the fact that guild is more organized than a pug raid, the pug raid would get wiped a lot faster when the commander is targeted and killed.
So I can understand why they removed it. Even though I personally am fine with the risk

Art of combat: I’d like to believe this will include a load of WvW changes/balances/upgrades!
Removing Restrictions: I don’t think something so big as unlocking all weapons for all classes. Possibly something more like letting you transmute the look of any armor to any other type of armor class.
Account-bound: HAS TO BE account bound wxp. Really really HAS TO BE since it’s the day before S2 :P
And I’m looking forward to what the friendly play could be!

To make 50 superior rams, one has to double click 4 times per ram + 1 click for craft + 1 click for accept.
That’s 18 clicks per ram or 900 clicks…
If we could just set a ‘craft-all’ button, this would be reduced to 16 initial clicks + 1 click for craft all + 1 click for accept.
900 clicks reduced to 18. WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS!?
Seriously though Anet, this would be really really really really really sweet.

Best experience hands-down was last night during a battle defending SM. One of the walls was down and somewhere during the fight, we repaired the wall and about 8-10 enemy players were stuck inside. After dispatching their allies, we all proceeded to DPS the wall for loot!
Fun and laughs for all
V I C E V E R S A
I for one will never object to people who want to level up in WvW during my raids. It’s all about fun to me. It’d be pretty hypocritical of me anyways since after launch of the game, I mostly leveled up in WvW myself!
No reason to grind levels in PvE so you can join WvW in my opinion…this isn’t WoW

After S1, there was indeed talks among a lot of people about wanting to drop tier so we wouldn’t face against vizunah/SFR week after week. However this way of thinking has possibly resulted now in lots of players growing bored and thus leaving PS. Numbers were low etc. I personally care more about fights, but I don’t intend to intentionally lose.
However, more recently, our activity and morale is picking up again. I think the mentality of ‘dropping tier’ has almost disappeared, so you can give us your best and we’ll respond in kind!
On a side note. Really fun fights against you guys from [KISS] and [SLAY] last night. Hats off to your pink-haired charr commander.

I’ve got a great idea and it’s called proper punctuation because without punctuation your post becomes an unreadable mess that I have to re-read 4-5 times before I understand what it is you are trying to say; so please try this again with some commas and periods here and there so we can all understand what it is you want us to understand.
Thank you.
I fixed it for you.
I was sure that the sarcasm was clear…

Defending pays in loot bags if done right. Some experience and silver but I’m hoping most WvW players don’t play for these things.
Supply camps are indeed refueling stations. They are camps that have supply!
I do agree that the commander should provide some more functionality, but that is already the topic of many threads on this forum.
Wooden gates are made of butter yes. Reinforced gates can take quite the beating and I think the map-size is fine. I really don’t want to walk EVEN further if there are no waypoints up.
Sure you may think in numbers that 3-4 minutes to walk to places is not a long time but after a couple deaths or way pointing to go to a new objective, these 3-4 minutes add up to a lot of time spent doing nothing and being bored out of your mind. Is that really what you think WvW needs more of?

To respond to all the suggestions about treating the lord as a player and the idea that he should only get banner-revived in down state and get health reductions etc. There is one major flaw in this and that is that the NPC is NOT a player.
He will NOT dodge away from fight upon reviving, he will NOT try to avoid combat while healing up. He will also NOT try to stay close to friendly players for buffs and another revive should he need it. What he DOES do, is chase the enemy zerg down in his lonesome against what could be 60+ players!
I’d say we need better solutions than treating an NPC as a player will not fix the problem.
My suggestion that I can come up with at the moment is increase the capture time required for a tower/keep (the time spent uncontested in the circle) by at least 4 times the length and then don’t reset it upon revival of the lord. I fear this may still reduce the chance for epic fights, but we have to meet half-way on something we can all live with.
With the above plan, it could still very well be possible to banner the lord in sequence, combined with contesting of players to keep the fight going.
V I C E V E R S A
While I am not inherently against removing the ability to banner the lord. But if you remove this mechanic that more often than not prolongs awesome fights (experienced both as invader and defender), please replace it by something better. Don’t just remove the mechanic and leave everything else as is because the cap timer is in my opinion ridiculously fast, so without allowing to revive the lord with banners, these great fun fights will be reduced to quick suicide contest pushes to the lord ring and will be over in mere seconds.
So, sure, remove the mechanic, but ONLY if you give us something in return that guarantees prolonging those amazing fights we have! Otherwise I will rabble.
V I C E V E R S A
Please please please please please please let players who’ve disconnected, or who’s power has gone out or computer has crashed reconnect to a full borderland without having to wait in queue if they manage to get back within like 3 minutes or something.
This would be extremely awesome, especially for commanders!
Thank you!

Oh don’t get me wrong. I LOVE to fight in WvW. It’s not about the rewards for me. It’s all about the pvp. However even with a lot of people donating siege to me, I still run low on siege blueprints and badges are my primary way of affording them since I like saving my gold for other things.
Now I don’t mind having to wait a bit longer to purchase siege with badges earned in EBG, but when EotM was released where you can farm hundreds of badges in a couple captures, it’s kind of unfair.

Personally I play an engineer with flamethrower/toolkit, elixer S and grenades.
Since I command most of the time, I’ve got everything I can towards being able to survive.
Flamethrower with aoe blind can be useful against melee blobs in that first hit I find and the aoe damage spread is pretty nice. I find myself often switching back and forth between nades and flamethrower to get those ice/blind/poison grenades on the floor.
However generally I am of the opinion that the best build is what works for you. Player skill and knowledge in their build is a majority factor in survival.
V I C E V E R S A
I was expecting this topic a lot sooner. I love the looks of the EotM map, but I still prefer the server wvw maps due to a loyalty to server-mates I guess and the regular people I play with.
But one of the first things I noticed and what kind of bugs me is the amount of badges rewards you get in EotM. Every cap gives an extra chest with loads of badges in them. The most I’ve seen personally was even 30 badges! Capturing SM in EBG gives me maybe 2 badges…
This hardly seems fair. Would definitely like to see this get balanced a bit.
