I actually like this idea. But to take it one step further and to reduce exploitation, I would recommend not being able to get any map completion points while exploring (such as vistas, POIs, and waypoints) as well as maybe having being teleported back to where the player first entered explorable mode, to prevent people from entering explorable mode and getting to really tough or challenging areas and then turning it off to get the credit for wherever they are.
The only other challenge might be those people adding to the map population or event scaling. Easily worked around, I think.
Another idea might be to have a separate world instance just for exploring.
Good idea, though.
Anyone else find it hilarious that ANET devs hate their own forums so much that Jon Olsen actually wrote more characters and went through the trouble to link to a Reddit post that has only a five-word response than answer the question directly here? Awesome.
I just got to 80 on my second Revenant, and I think I found a build that I really enjoyed and is viable in PVE. I use mace/axe/hammer with Mallyx and Glint. I use rabid gear and run a full condition build. So far, I am loving it and have no problems with dying. The conditions he applies are staggering and more than I ever did with my necro/reapers.
Maybe you’ll enjoy it!
My two cents:
I waited until I got all ascended gear to start raiding and did it with my family and guildmates. I was excited and ready to go.
Then I played it.
Not only was it VERY different than the raids I used to do in WoW, it seemed that it was entirely built around gimmicky mechanics. Each boss and mini-boss was a long fight where the boss had unbelievably huge HP. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of mobs in the first half of the raid. It was really just moving from one gimmick boss to another. Perhaps that’s what “challenging” content means.
My take is that GW2 raids is just not fun. I know many of my guildies think the same. We did it a couple times and then were just bored with it. I love GW2 way more than I ever did WoW, but Siege of Orgimmar this is not.
IMHO, I think they should do more dungeons, drop the fractals push, and let people play “how they want” again.
Good: Shatterer fight is fun again! My wife and I played it last night and we enjoyed every second of it. There was a lot going on and tons of ways to contribute. Really good stuff. My only complaint is that it might have been a bit too easy. We were never in danger of not beating it. Overall, very, very well done.
Gliding in Tyria is also amazing. Great job.
Bad: Mesmer is — I mean WAS — my main. This patch nerfed the bejeezus out of alacrity, which hurt really bad. This needs serious fixing. Wheoever thought the nerfs to Mesmer were a good idea should have their hands slapped — or be forced to play the new Mesmer in PVP for hours.
The other balance patches didn’t seem too bad. Mesmer stood out to me as really, really bad.
I would also recommend looking at all of the world boss fights again like you did Shatterer. Fire Elementalist is a sit in one spot and spam AA, too. So is Svanir, Jungle Wurm, and Mega Destroyer.
Finally, please give us back our skill animations. The ele’s skills used to be gorgeous. Now, they’re laughably bad.
So tired of "Fast as the Wind" constant spam

What?? I LOVE hearing my Sylvari warrior say Shake it Off condescendingly! I actually don’t mind the shouts at all. I can see why some would, but I say bring me more.
This is directed more at ArenaNet than other players. But, maybe others will find some worth in it.
Story: The story starts out engaging and has high hopes, but it does get rushed really fast. I ran the story as both a Sylvari and a human, and the experience was only different in that the screen went wobbly every now and then. The single biggest issue, I believe, is that the story was designed to be grandiose and time ran out. It feels very jerky and poorly paced. Some parts don’t even make sense and the player is left just moving from point to point with no real purpose.
Specializations: I have gotten 8 of the 9 elite specs (minus Revenant) all the way up and I can say it was a bit of a grind for all the alts. Now too cumbersome, though. All of them feel different than their predecessors, but Berserker feels completely useless. I am only using the F2 portion and none of the skills as I found them useless and bugged. Tempest is also underwhelming. The others have a nice feel and fluidity to them, especially Chronomancer (my main). However, the lack of introduction to them was a HUGE disappointment. Some kind of story unlocking them or even a cutscene would have been good. I mean, this is possibly the biggest part of the expansion and it goes completely unnoticed.
Maps: Simply put, they’re gorgeous. They all feel very different and I am getting used to the level architecture. Gliding is very fun (albeit still sometimes buggy and slow to deploy) and the new travel mechanics are interesting. Tangled Depths is — by far — the least enjoyable of all the maps. As a matter of fact, me and my guildmates avoid it like the plague if at all possible.
Meta Events: These can get tiresome. The same thing over and over again is very grindy. “Oh, defend this outpost for the 15th time today….” When this expansion was announced, one of the conceptual points is that what our characters did in these events mattered. I realize that we can’t logistically clear out the map and call it a day, but perhaps longer event chains. Maybe a multi-day cycle where you slowly clear the Mordrem out and have a mordrem-free jungle (if successful) at the end for a couple hours. This would really make it important to participate in the event cycle. As of right now, I can participate or not and everything resets in an hour or so.
Masteries: I’ll be honest, I actually have no problems with masteries being so XP intensive. It doesn’t take too long to get the mandatory ones, and the variety is nice. What I DON’T like is how most of the high-end masteries are worthless. Exalted lore 4 and 5 are basically worthless, even though it’s the one line I was most interested in. Other lines are similar. Just make them more important, that’s all. If they cost millions of XP, they should be very valuable.
Guild Halls: Good fun to obtain, beautiful to look at, and a TREMENDOUSLY HUGE GOLD SINK. Holy cow, ANET, you either want small guilds to take 9 months to even start fighting in an arena, or spend thousands in gold. Don’t get me started on scribing requirements. So I unlocked scribe and now I have to unlock something completely different to actually make a chair???? Great concept, poor execution. I don’t mind things taking time to get done, but I do mind unnecessarily gated material.
Overall: Like many others, I had a great deal of hope heading in to the expansion. I feel a little let down. I don’t think this XPAC lived up to the hype. In some ways, it’s wonderful. In others, it failed completely. Right now, It gets 3 out of 5 stars. With some minor tweaks, it could easily be a 5 star expansion.
I currently am working on elite spec number 6 (Daredevil) and have found the task to be tedious, though ANET did get a huge kudos from me for lowering the amount needed.
What I have found is that by having to focus so much on getting Hero Points, I do pass by meta events. If I stopped to do them, it would take five times as long to get the elite spec completed. Once I have all my specs completed, I’ll start focusing on the events.
One benefit of having to level alts is the mastery track fills up more quickly than normal. I play casually (maybe an hour or or so a day, more on weekends), and am at level 16 in mastery. I know there are many who are much, much further in masteries, but I feel I’m on a decent pace.
[Guild Hall] Shovel Problem for Small Guilds
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Myrden.2456
Right there with ya, OP. My small guild (5) was able to claim the hall and upgrade the tavern, but we’ve been working SW for a couple days (we can only take an hour of that god forsaken map at a time) and are still 26 shovels short. We get about 1 per hour MAYBE.
It doesn’t help that behind Dry Top and Tangled Depths, Silverwastes is one of the worst maps in the game. Oh well, off to grind —- err play — Silverwastes…
I don’t see how anything he wrote could possibly be considered a spoiler, but I don’t doubt you’re right about people going crazy avoiding them.
Neither did I. Here’s what I got on a one-sentence question post I made:
“Your post in All of my party join me for the final fight? was infracted by a moderator:
Why can’t all members of my party join me for the final mordremoth fight?

By the way, the mods around here apparently have no idea what a spoiler is and will tag anything that remotely resembles anything close to something that could be in the game. You might want to drop a spoiler tag on your title or else they will throw this post into oblivion like they did mine.
Fair enough, tag added.
It’s ridiculous, I know.
I cannot agree more. My wife, stepson, and I tried it 6 times before we all rage quit and decided to wait to do the final story until all bugs are fixed. This is a MAJOR issue that needs serious correcting.

Keep Shake it Off on constant standby as you will use that a bunch. Also trait for it to trigger automatically. I’m using Soldier’s Gear on my warrior and can stay alive fairly easily with well-timed dodges and Shake it Off.
I’ve put on several other posts how to claim it with 5 people (none were “hard core” players). Please look up those posts on how to do it.
But, for god’s sake, DO NOT MAKE IT EASIER!
The high elite spec cost was one thing, but nerfing content is another.
My guild was able to claim it with 5 people, but it was tough. We wiped a couple times before getting the hang of it. Here’s how we did it:
1. Have all members except one go to the center of the map. When they’re in place, have the final member start the instance with the NPC at the beginning. That will give people enough time to get to the first maw spawn.
2. Once you’re at the maw spawn, focus 100% on the vinetender, and use every CC you can on him to diminish the breakbar. Simply put, pound on him until he dies. Then, move on to the second vinetender and repeat.
3. Once the vinetenders are gone, attack the maw with everything. Ignore all other mobs, as they will get downed by the AOE and cleaves you will be doing. If you can get both vinetenders down with 1 minute or more left, you should be able to kill the maw.
4. Do this every maw. If a spawn is very far away, let it go. You can allow four maws to live without wiping the whole instance.
The trick is to get to the spawns as quickly as possible and focus ENTIRELY on the vinetenders.
Failing that….hit up people in the chat for help. Good luck!
With base game (not Heart of Thorns) full map completion, you’ll still need around 180 hero points to completely unlock 1 elite spec. Just pray you don’t have alts…
You know these “people” aren’t real, right? And if they were, they’d be on the wrong side of this discussion, too.
Thank you, citizen, for saving me! Just as I thought that getting elite specs on all my alts was going to feel like a grind — you know, because “The definition of mmo grind is completing the same content repeatedly as a form of progression to your character or account.” — YOU jumped in with this post and completely changed my mind.
And your original take on how we’re all just entitled and should be thankful for playing a game we paid for is so fresh. I’ve never seen that perspective before. I feel so much better!!! Off to (not)grind 40 hero points gated behind masteries and group requirements just to play a spec they said I could play right away!
I’d be interested to hear tactics for those who did it with 5. It was not even remotely close when we tried, far too many mobs and the vinetenders have so much HP, it was nigh on impossible to kill even 1 in the time limit, let alone 2 plus the Maw and travel there…all in 3.30 mins…
My guild did it with 5 (and one player was….not top tier), and it was tough, but certainly doable. Our team was a Necromancer, Guardian, Elementalist, Warrior, and Mesmer with various exotic and ascended gear. No legendary weapons. Here’s some things we had success with:
- Focus on the Vinetenders exclusively at the start of fights. Run past all other mobs. Use knockbacks to break the bar and then hammer it with all you have. We focused on one Vinetender at a time and were able to kill it and the other fast enough. Make sure to keep the CC attacks up on the Vinetenders as the damage will be greater with the break bar down.
- Once both Vinetenders are down, focus 100% on the maw. ignore EVERYTHING else. Just hammer it down and rez only if it can be done within 5 seconds.
You’ll have to do this 5 times. Once you get the pattern down, you’ll be successful. Also, if a maw spawns really far away, let it go. You can skip 4 before the whole instance wipes. Try to get your group to the center of the map so you can most efficiently travel to the maw spawns.
- Finally, on the last boss, use as much ranged weapons as you can and stay away from the black lines he drops. You will have plenty of time for him, so just keep the pressure on.
Enjoy! Once you get the formula down, it really is a fun experience. Message me if I’m online and I’ll help you out.

Did you absolutely have to create 2 threads for nearly identical statements?
And yet they’ll merge every post complaining about the elite spec disaster.
ANET: Here’s a few thoughts on my gameplay since Friday in several aspects of the game. Take it for what it’s worth.
Guild Halls: Amazing! The capture was fun and challenging (did it with 6 people), and the Gilded Hollow is simply incredible. The upgrade paths for building is steep, but I think it should be tough and take time as these are impressive structures. My full compliments on the Guild Hall design and process (so far).
Masteries: The UI is more intuitive than in the betas, so good job. Gliding is fun, Exalted Markings is helpful, and the mushroom one helps get to points not previously available. The time it take to level them to at least be able to use them is not too burdensome. Overall, looks good so far.
Map Creation: Auric Basin is simply gorgeous. I haven’t gone past that map yet, but you guys hit a homerun on that map. Verdant Brink is OK looking, but it really gives you a feeling of danger in the jungle, as you can fall of at any moment (if you do not yet have gliding). The artwork throughout is brilliant and The multi-tiered canopy makes the maps feel huge. Well done.
Content: This is where the game starts to take a little hit. The content was repetitive and had a grind feel to it, and at some parts was tough to solo. I usually go with a small group, but I can totally see how solo players would be frustrated. Escort missions are simply not fun (in my opinion), and there’s a TON of those. Still, while the missions and content could be better, it isn’t bad.
Specializations: Ok, ANET….you completely and totally failed on this. When you announced the Elite Specializations, you told us we could explore the jungle as a new spec. You failed to mention we would have to FIRST explore it with our core spec and then RE-EXPLORE it with EVERY alt character we have. That it take 400 points to fully unlock it is INSANE. Yes, we can unlock it with 60 points, but we have to lose a full trait line and replace it with an empty one while we slowly grind hero points. To add insult to injury, we don’t get a choice in what we spend the points on. You FORCE us to spend it in this linear path on things we may never want/use. This needs fixing ASAP.
Overall, good job on the XPAC. The elite spec fiasco can be fixed (hopefully you will), and content will be tweaked. My family and I have really enjoyed it. I hope this feedback helps.
Can you post an image of the instance entrance location?
Not to rain on a parade, but you will need 400 Hero Points to fully unlock any elite specialization. 60 Hero points just makes it available to you and does not give you any traits or skills. So, in order to run around as a Chronomancer (for example), you’ll need 60 Hero Points and lose an entire fully-stocked trait line in your build.
Just be prepared.

We’re just tired of the goal post, constantly moving. “Oh hey, I saved up 100g for that shiny new precursor!” Economy Change! Precursors now 1000g!! “Oh wow, it took awhile, but I finally got that map completion, and all the hero pts!” Screw You, DO MOAR! :’(
Its just disheartening. We were under the impression that veteran players would already have enough pts, if they did map completion. Now, it just feels like a punishment, more than some excuse to play more. As if we wouldn’t play as much… We just want to play the content, in our elite spec.
The goal post NEVER moved. Someone datamined some stuff, and everyone took it as gospel. When did Anet ever change the goal post on this?
In fact, by giving us 10 points for every hero point in HoT, they’ve made it very easy to level up your elite specialization.
They didn’t plant the goal post until now so it comes off as being intentionally shady.
Well that’s great for people who like pve… Buy hey look, you can level up 400 times per character in wvw right?
Always remember vayne, you can always measure success by asking yourself “is it fun?”. For many players this will not be considered a success story filled with “fun”.
They also didn’t tell people until recently that you could get this playing WvW or that the hero points in HoT would give you 10 points each and there’s enough of them to give you your entire spec. That’s pretty generous. 40 hero point challenges in HoT is a lot less than 400 in the open world.
I don’t think anyone expected that.
And let’s not forget, some of that is skins, not skills. You don’t even need all 400 to get you entire usable spec unlocked.
I think many people — especially those who keep saying people are whining — continue to forget about alts. So, if I wanted to get the elite spec for all the professions, that’s 3600 hero points I have to farm. And, yes, at that point it IS farming.
Few things I’ve noticed so far:
1. In playing a Tempest with berserker gear, I died every few seconds in the VB first story mission. I may just be a bad player (I didn’t think so), but holy cow was it VERY squishy. Unplayably so.
2. The Chronomancer is a lot of fun, but again, I died a lot in the story mission. Overall, I think the story mission is too tough for the cloth armor toons.
3. The masteries hints are better than before, but it still isn’t clear that you have to train first before you can apply points. I was trying to apply points and there was nothing to inform me I had to “level up” training first.
4. After the story mission, you’re just kind of dumped there with no real direction. I understand there are no hearts or anything, but for the first map in a new expansion, a little direction guidance would be nice.
5. Not sure what can be done about this, but I found it extremely difficult to try to learn an entirely different playstyle (specializations) against these tough enemies. Again, maybe I am just a scrub…
6. I like the look and mechanics of the enemies. I think they should be nerfed a little bit, though, at least until a little bit further into the map.
7. Chronomancer wells are great, but the duration is too short, in my opinion. The animations are beautiful, though.
8. In the POI about the Tempest, we were told the warhorn was a way to get elementalists closer to the fight, but I found I couldn’t take on more than one bad guy at a time without trying to get away. Once more, perhaps I am a scrub. Would love to know what other more experienced eles think.
It doesn’t assuage everyone’s concerns, but it certainly shows they listen and want to make customer’s happy. I’ll be buying five upgrades for my family tonight. This good-faith showing let’s us know our voices are heard. It’s tough to rail against that.
patch tomorrow? maybe they are “working”….
You’re right. The exact same people who make marketing decisions are also coding the game. Next…

But there are also a lot of players that are just as unhappy and not posting about it.
That is true. There are unhappy people out there who can’t/don’t want to post. But it’s more likely that they will complain opposed to unhappy or indifferent people who never complain. Therefore the people you see complaining on the forums are a fraction of an already small fraction. Therefore they must be in the minority.
Ummmm….what? This is the strangest logic I’ve heard yet. I did a very informal poll in all the main cities today, and found only 14% (7 of 52) have or will purchase if nothing changes. The others – and the five people in my household – are waiting for resolution. Again, not scientific, but to say those who are unhappy are the minority is not a slam-dunk conclusion.
Sales happen. You can buy a refrigerator today and then next week it goes on sale. You don’t get extra compensation because someone else got it cheaper. That’s life.
This is a bad analogy. The correct analogy would be:
Fridge’s R Us is selling an icemaker for $200, and it comes with a free fridge!
Person A — who has no fridge — comes in and buys it! WOO HOO! A new fridge and icemaker!
Person B — who already has a fridge at home — comes in and buys it, but the sales guy says, “Here’s your $200 icemaker. You already bought a fridge from us a year ago, you don’t get the ‘free’ fridge.”
Does that make any sense to those of you who call us “whiners,” “entitled,” “poor,” or “cheapskates?”
They answered no questions, even about guild halls. Plus, the Twitch mods kept deleting and banning anyone who commented or asked about the price.
Edit: and only part of it was recorded.
Nice chart. Thanks for sharing.

For those of you who say that veteran players got things new players will not get (ie Living World, Lion’s Arch destruction, Scarlet, Marionette, etc.) so we should just shut up and be thankful, please consider this for a moment.
I purchased this game because ArenaNet stated that there would be regular updates, new content and features, and reasons to continue playing. THIS is why I paid the $40 (the price when I purchased over a year ago). ArenaNet did not give me anything for “free,” they promised new content and updates, and features up front, before I paid. And, they have lived up to that promise. The devs and community team do a wonderful job and I have great fun with this game.
I have also spent hundreds of dollars in the gem store since I started playing. My purchases (along with all who spend in the store) is what helps create the new content. I am paying real money for it.
Ultimately, $50 is worth it to me for this game. But, ANET has really botched this pre-order for existing players. I don’t begrudge the deal for new players … I welcome them. But creating a welcoming environment for new players while ignoring current ones is how companies lose customers. I love this game and want to continue playing it. I want to give them $250 (I pay for mine, my wife and children’s accounts) for this expansion. But, I won’t do it until they show me they want me to stick around.
It was reasonable, but still designed to soften the ANET blunder. The messenger counts when delivering a message. Wooden Potato and Bogotter – while I am sure they’re fine people – have rose-colored glasses because they are so close with ANET. They may have good intentions, but can you trust the message when they have a stake in the game? They are supported by and derive direct benefit from ANET. Their opinions are tainted, even if they don’t mean them to be.
I don’t believe that they “can’t” change things now. Sure they can! They can drop the price for the expansion by $10-$20 and re-change the FAQ to say the BUNDLE is a discounted base game with the full-price expansion. That way, new players who have already pre-ordered don’t lose a thing, vet players who pre-purchased can be given gems to compensate for the price, and the lower price corrects the harm they already caused.

Honestly, I feel $50 is fair for a new expansion. A lot of work has been put into this, it might as well be worth a whole new game entirely.
If you’re bothered by price, just wait a bit. We all know it’ll go down eventually, and this $50 pricetag is only for the most hardcore of fans, who want to play it as soon as possible.
That said, I think people actually aren’t aware why they’re angry. It’s not the $50 pricetag people are consciously angry about, but the $75 and $100 dollar Deluxe and Ultimate editions. Simply by being in eye-view, right next to the other stuff, there is an association with Heart of Thorns having an outrageous price…. But that is a separate issue altogether.
There seems to be a lot of people on here telling us why we’re unhappy. Perhaps you should start a psychic hotline together.
And for the record, you are wrong. People are upset about the $50 price because a.) new players are getting more than loyal players; and b.) we don’t feel the expansion is worth $50 as it is presented right now.
Myrden, I’m not “blindly” shelling out my hard earned money. I’ve seen some (maybe most, who knows at this point) of the expansion already and what I’ve seen excited me. I’ve been waiting, along with many, many others for expanded weapons for a long time. The expansion looks great. The game is actually 60$ and the expansion is 50$ so you’re right, you’re not paying the same price for (admittedly) less content. Now if you compare it to the ridiculous sales price of 10$ then sorry man, you’re just never going to be pleased.
Compared to their competition, WoW, FF14 and perhaps ESO, they’re releasing expansions at around the same price point but GW2 hasn’t ever required a monthly subscription fee. So do the math and tell me whether or not this game is worth 60$ (3 years ago) + 50$ (soon). Compare that with FF14, for example, and you’d be paying, aside from the 110$ for the base and expac, 540$ of sub fees (36 X 15 for a round three years).
You’re angry. That’s pretty obvious, but this is a very reasonable price.
There you go again, assuming you know what is on my mind. I’m not angry at all. Not in the least. I am also not someone who just takes everything a company throws at me without voicing my displeasure. My issue with your post is not that you’re happy shelling out money for the expansion, but your insistence that you need to apologize for those of us who feel the price is too high for what they’re selling us. Tell me, would you spend $5 on a soda refill when the original glass cost $2?
Please don’t speak for me, OP. And don’t apologize for me, either. You’re thrilled with the expansion and will slap down $50 per copy blindly … that’s great.
No one is saying that ANET employees don’t work hard and create a good product. And my problem with this is not the fact new players get it for free (though, it is kind of a stick in the eye to us veteran players). My issue is the price of the expansion does not match the scope of it. Yes, it has not arrived yet and we don’t fully know what it will entail. We DO know it will not be the same size and scale of the full game, which is cheaper than $50. Will the expansion have the same amount of content as the full game? No way it will.
Again, don’t apologize for me as I am not sorry for voicing my opinion. I – and hundreds (maybe thousands) — am not as thrilled as you to shell out this much for a patch.

I have always been a strong supporter of ANET and feel like they produce a terrific game with thousands of hours of playability. However, they completely failed on this effort. There are five people in my family who all have active accounts and we love to play together. I knew I would have to pay for the new expansion, but $50 is far, far too much for existing players. My gut tells me that they are rolling in the base game not only for new players, but also to “sell” the fact that they “acquired” hundreds (if not more) new players with the expansion — without fully telling people that many or even most of the “new” games sold are actually veteran players who bought the expansion and got the game with it. Either way, I will not be shelling out $250 for an expansion that — so far — has shown to only be worth $30.
ArenaNet: From a loyal, gem-store-buying patron…fix this. If the 1800 (and counting) messages on this board don’t get you to change your mind, I’m guessing the massive amount of vets NOT buying the expansion will be.
I can confirm that GW2 runs on Windows 10 just fine. I’ve also done both Beta tests and had zero issues with those.
BTW, great find OP.
I played in the brief time it was open about an hour ago and didn’t have to download anything, if that helps.
You’ll be able to create it when the beta starts in 45 minutes.
There’s 50 minutes left before the start. The brief period it was available earlier was a mistake/glitch.
I deleted mine and the slot is still there.
It seemed to work the same way as the stress test. You have one slot that you can use any profession, then delete it and make a new one with a different profession.
I got as far as inside the gates, but I felt the revenant was weak (inside SW) compared to the stress test. They must have nerfed it. It took way too long to kill a hyena.
The Devs have hinted ambiguously at gliding in other zones being available at a later date, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. That’s a lot of coding changes. Also, I should note that gliders only go down (unless you hit an updraft). You can’t use them to go up or horizontal, and they can only be deployed from drops that are of a certain height.
If you can pass through them on foot in the game you can pass through in the air.
When I played it during the stress test, gliding was a little buggy, but the gist of it was there. Here’s what I know from first-hand experience of it (albeit a small one):
- Gliding is learned by placing a point in the gliding mastery line
- Mastery points are earned by certain events, vista-type objects, and other goals
- Gliding wings are automatic once you learn the gliding mastery
- Gliding works by jumping off high cliffs and hitting the space bar
- There is a slight delay in glider deployment…roughly about 2 seconds, but mastery points can be spent to decrease the time
- Gliding will not work (at least right away) outside of the new zones
- There is a gliding bar that slowly lessens the longer you are gliding. That bar can increase with more mastery points spent
- Gliding is more fun than I expected
- You can control the direction, but not the speed
