Hello all. So i decided to come back to this game but when i tryed to patch up the game it ALWAYS stops at files remaining : 2990.
In windows task manager it stands that Guild wars 2 is not responing.
Tryed to re start the computer
Re install the Catalyst control center
Re install .net framework.
Running on a fully updateded windows 7 sp1 game is installed on SSD disk
For longbow, you want something that allows you to use the burst ability (F1) Combustive Shot with as many marks of adrenaline as possible every time the cooldown is up (10s base). In WvW, you basically hang toward the middle or back of a group and drop Combustive Shot into the enemy group and follow it up with Arcing Arrow (#3) into the combo field. The higher your adrenaline level, the longer the Combustive Shot field lasts, which means more damage ticks and more burning applications. Arcing Arrow is a blast finisher, and when you use it in a fire field, it gives 5 people 3x Might for 20s.
The more common build is a high DPS build that uses 30 in Arms for the extra adrenaline on critical strikes and 30 in Discipline for the reduced burst ability cost (reduced adrenaline cost by 1/3). Arms traits give you access to bleed damage on crit, so you want high crit and having a mix of power and condition damage is good.
There are alternatives, such as 30 in Strength to get the Berserker Strance when you have 5 stacks of might trait. Further, you can employ Signet of Fury for the activation or Berserker Stance and Healing Surge as your heal. For stats, burning doesn’t scale that well in damage, so unless you can produce a lot of bleeds, you probably want to favor power and crit damage over condition damage. It’s worth noting that the Might boon increases both power and condition damage.
thanks for all the reply. i see that you are talking about bleed here. do warrior have enough way to affact bleed on longbow to make it viable? Its only 1 bleed on each crit right? If i favor crit chance and crit dmg before con dmg it just going to make those few bleed im able to put out even weaker.
Also Discipline increases burst ability dmg, do that work on the bow F1 attack? That dont realy do any dmg but alot of “dot dmg” or im a mistaken here?
From what i see its realy not a problem for a warrior to have one or more stacks of might at all time so i was thinking of going for rune of strenght ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Strength )
But again, that 5% dmg increase, do that work on dot dmg? And the : 3% chance to gain Might for 20s when hit. Is that when i hit a target or a target hit me?
Hello all, i just got back to the game after a few months break. I whent back to my Guardian and i love that class, but i realy miss a ranged weapon. I used to play a warrior early release but its been a long time ago.
Im thinking of playing my warrior only for WvW and bow as a main weapon. Is that viable? What offhand weapon(s) should i go for (was thinking hammer) and any tips for build? Was thinking of going 30 points in Discipline for more and bether F1 attack.
Also what gear should i aim for on a bow warrior? Con dmg or power or abit of both?
many good advice to impore WvW here. Anet should copy/paste some/many of em. But i guess they are to proud to let a forum person “fix” the game.
Totally agree with the AoE thing. Although I think the Ele needs a nerf lol.
Thats the problem, IF they where going to remove AoE limit they are going to put em self in world of hurt when it comes to balance.
I have said it many times before, leave the AoE limit like it is on player and increase it or remove it on siege weapons.
How long is the 6/6 burn on the forge? 1sec?
One easy fix and good fix (in mine eyes) is to make siege weapons ignore the max 5 players AOE rule.
Like now there is not anyone that are afraid of siege weapons, if you are ikittenerg and see a treb is shooting at “your” zerg you are only hurt for 10% of your hp if you get hit. If you are ikittenerg you are likely to take no dmg.
If they made so siege hurt more ppl or even maby hurt more it whould make zerging more pointless and it would be bether to split up in smaller groups to attack from many sides at once and or starv out the defenders.
So i have 2950 attack atm ( 1839 power ). Is there any cap where getting more power isnt going to affact me anymore?

So i just got back to the game and was thinking about rolling a Mesmer. I played a Guardian and a Necro and i love the AoE they can do. So how is the Mesmer AoE abilities and or support? Realy liked the “tanky” feeling i got from my guardian.
Hello all, im new to the ranger class and im abit confused about the Piercing arrow talent.
How do it realy work?
Do it Pierc 100% of the time or only when the targeted player is behind a pet/player?
How many times do it pierc? If there is 5 players on a birgde, do it pierc all 5?
Do the dmg get reduced on the pierc?
Just started ranger so cant test it out my self
Just wondering if magic find gear is worth it?
Ignore the stats you loose when going for magic find gear and only focus on the increased “drop” is it worth it? Anyone tested it (if it can be tested)?
But if this is a speed buff fix for signet for all classes, do it realy help Rangers? See that there is a post on the necro forum about the same.

We have plenty of scandinavian players (but all/most of map chat is english).
We have problems in WvW due to to many PvE’ers and many of our WvW players just dont stand looseing anymore. We are mostly a grown up community and in sour need of more WvW players.
Join our server and help us bring us up where we are suppose to be. Anyway its more fun to be on a server that you can see progress each week then a server that are struggeling to gain a rank.
If you come to our server you whont play against the same server each week. We have lost the last x amount of weeks but not by alot.

Sure its posible to double it, but at what cost? We dont have that many spells that apply fear. Our fear last 1 sec and specking 30 points into spite and going for master of terror trait its going to last 1 3/4 sec.
And the cd on those spells are 40sec and 20 sec without speccing for reduced CD.
Other clases have no problem CC for longer then this without going all out for increase duration.
I havent realy tested Retalitaion to much in this game. I understand it scale from power, how much do Retaliation proc on this build?
I guess Retaliation is as good as it gets with a build like this.
Necro is ok. Ignore all those “necro is broken” posts.
Sure we have our problems and bugs but so do other classes.
Its realy not worth trying those 5% chance on hit runes. I tryed the might version of it, was sure it was 5% when i hit some one but when i found out that it was when i was hit i changed runes fast.
As a necro you should realy not focus on getting hit to much
Fear is great i love it, howver, it does need to be a tad bit longer. If it was like 1.75 seconds that would awesome and realistic in a devs eyes. with 70% increase to fear with necro runes and specced into it with soul reaping that would make it just shy of 3s fear. and with a rare veggie pizza which adds an additional 40% to condition duration that would be a total of 110% condition duration, which would bring the fear duration to 3.66 seconds of fear. stacked fear that would be a nice 7.32 fear duration now that would feel like forever and looking at the numbers, i just contradicted myself and it would appear, and deemed by the community, to be overpowered haha but hey i would love a 7s+ FEAR XD
but as of now with our 1s fear with the 110% additional duration our fear is only 2.1s stacked twice it would be a 4.2s fear which is nice but it would be great if we could get it to 4.75 or even 5s
not to mention we can also go 30 in spite and get an additional 30% condition duration bringing it to 140% fear duration bringing the fear duration to 4.8s. thats a long time to not be able to do a kitten thing!
did i miss anything that adds to condition duration? is my math right-ish lol?

But dont forget all those condition removers that removes fear. Even if fear lasted 10s it whould not last the entire duration in most cases. Same with a hammer warrior, he CAN cc a target for quit a while if the target dont have any form of CC break or dont dodge in time.

I think they did a good job with confusion.
It is nearly exclusive to Mesmers with some classes getting a tiny bit of it.
Engy Pistol 15 sec cd attack only x2 confusion on 2 people.
Warrior trait x3 confusion on interupt.
Necro convert retaliation = x3 confusion.
None come close to the Mesmer’s ability to apply confusion.
Fear on the other hand, Thief can actually have the most overall “uptime” on fear with warrior being 2nd. Our’s is just better for interupting instead of locking.
Really it should be Necro you see with 3s+ fears and Thief/Warrior or w/e getting 1s fear from somewhere.
Looks like we agree then. Like i said Fear should not be a Necro only condition, but Necro should be the best class to fear its enemy.
Giving other Professions a way to un-stealth theifs or possibly a un-stealth field, Arena net needs to fix this problem before this great game is ruined.
Fair enough,as long as they also implement abilities to remove invulnerabilty,shrinks,.e.t.c,also remove almost the double base HP of certain classes…
Shrink is underwater and no one fight underwater (almost no one)
invulnerabilty is realy not a issue, just DoT em down
Double base HP you talk about is so easy for you thiefs to work around – dps it down, stealth and wait for to pop out of DS (DS have a cooldown you know)
Stealth on the otherhand is almost a 100% panic button that always gets the thiefs out of combat or time to wait for the next heal.
Thiefs have one of the best mobility in the game, the best burst in the game and the best “panic buttons” in the game (stealth, “blink” and so on).
Classes like thief just ruin the gameplay, pop out of nothing takes down halft the hp in a few hit and pop back into stealth.

We necro realy dont have a problem with running without the 33%.

So there is no weapon, amulet, rings and so on that can be bought for karma?
And all those sets have the stats so spread out that it makes it worse then green/yellow gear i get from the tradeing post.
All the gear have eather condition dmg or healing power on it. Like it is imposible for me to get Precision without getting con dmg or healing power. Both stats are useless for me.
So i have gatherd almost 200k karma now and have no ide where i should use it. I have found some lvl 80 karma gear but with stats that dont “fit” me.
Im a power build so im looking for power/precicion/toughness (or vitality). I need full set of armor and jewels and weapons.
Edit: ooh, i dont like dungeons so i dont play those. mostly wvw but the Invader set is way to expensive :/

Are you good at PvP? A bad player is not going to do wel in pvp even on necro. I play necro, i love necro and i focus on PvP/WvW.
I know that epidemic spreads chill, but do it spread Immobilize from dagger 3?
Also epidemic, when used. Do it reset the condition timer or refresh it? (if the Immobilize last for 5 sec and i use epidemic when it 2 sec remaining, are the 5 other Immobilized for 2 or 5 sec? )

Why do you use 2 x Rune of Baltahzar? (15% increase burn duration) ? I guess thats a miss click and should be another rune? We Necro realy dont need to increas “our” burns
I rolled a necro at release, but at lvl 30 i decided to try Guardian. Leveld her to 80 and like 10 min after i dinged 80 i found out that i miss my necro.
So the best thing i did was playing necro again.
Reason i decided to try guardian is that i always like melee, but who am i kidding? Melee in a PvP focused MMO is always a bad ide (i focus on pvp).
If you dont like necro, fine. You tryed warrior and like it so all is good.
The reason i didnt mention all my utility skills is that im not sure what to go for yet. Was thinking of BiP but not sure it worth it only for the buff.
This is mainly wvw and some pve btw.
Why do I play Necro?
Bq i like the class, and its bull thats is only one viable build. I started as condition necro, now im play a more power/bleed hybrid but working for a more power/ds focused build. All the way i have been able to win 1vs1, do good in both pve/pvp and wvw. Sure im not aiming to be the best player in the world, but i have fun. Hell i even been acused for cheating in spvp. Some players realy need to start running with condition removers!
If you realy dont like necro just reroll, 1-80 goes so fast in this game and you can Always come back to your necro.
So tired of players whineing about the class! Sure we have bugs and problems but so do other classes.
I like the fire rune on my staff, on my 1h weapon im not sure yet.
Im creating a power build like i said in the first post, but the healing from those 4 runes is not that intense to ruin a power build
So on my Guardian it was easy chooice to go for boon duration, but i strugle on my necro. Im going from a Condtion build to a power build.
My plan was to go for:
2 Superior Hoelbra (20% Might)
2 Superior Monk ( 15% Boon)
2 Superior Water ( 15% Boon)
Boons i have:
5 sec protection at 50% hp ( Last Gasp)
15s Might on Life Blast ( Reaper’s Might)
5s Regen at 90% hp (Full of life)
7s Regen on staff 2
4s Retaliation on Axe 3
45s Swiftness on Spectral walk
5s Fury when entering DS
Is the 30% Boon duration worth it for those boons? Should i rather go for another 40% might duration or do you have any other advice? My plan was to go for Rune of Lyssa but those ar bugged on lich form/plague form (dont use the pet elite).

To stop makeing small aoe focused groups roam around owning zergs. Its going to make this forum a huge whine spot.
That also going to make it a hell for the Dev to balance.

I’ve often asked the same thing myself. We already have a high base HP pool, so toughness SEEMS like it would be more effective.
Then you consider the fact that our vitality not only increases our health, but our DS health as well, so vitality actually helps you more than it would on other classes. I still can’t answer which would be better though
Its true that vitality also effect our DS, but so do Toughness. I find a mix of both to be the best. But like other have already said it comes down to the player behind the keyboard.
i guess its another life steal build. And to the topic starter, the patch comes out in a day ( +/ -) so even if you found a build that no one else have come up with they wil not have time to “nerf” it to the patch.

So i guess thats when i attack enemy. So the question is: cant that proc from wells and marks? If so can i get more then 1 proc from a well or a mark?
I never did deny it, but from experience is that fotm classes changes on a regular basis. To thread starter: we cant decide for you how and what to play. Test em both and find out what you like the most. But be sure to test coreupt boom and epidemic before you decide.
Im comming from a guardian and belived wall of refelction was my favorite skill but epidemic is just so much bether/cooler (MY opinion).

I was thinking more for WvW mainly and some PvE. Im kinda new to this class, it was the first class i rolled at release but i jumped over to Guardian when i was lvl 30. Now i have dinged 80 on my guardian and found out that WvW was my thing i whent back to necro.
I havent played my guardian after i dinged 80 :/
How much con power is needed for bleed to tick for 100? Think my bleed is around 75 now. My goal was to focus mainly on power (DD) and have DoT more to finish ppl off (and i do love my Epidemic to much not to use it)
Just wondering if anyone is running a con/power hybrid build. Im aiming for bleed doing 100 pr tick and find a balance between crit/power and toughness or vit.
Realy like this Rune on my guardian and whanted to use it on my necro aswell, but wiki says its bugged.

The 6th effect does not get triggered by transformation Elites. Including the Guardian Elite Tomes.
