> I doubt that gemstore stuff will ever be a reason to argue “upcoming content hint”.
Probably true, but then again we got Balthazar outfit and weapons, and in due course he showed up.
And there is the trailer reference to ‘one stayed behind’.
Even better, Abaddon makes sense in terms of ultimately NOT having one of the established Six turn out to be a villain. (Just think of all the human characters who chose Balthazar as their god.)
The gods left. The only one who “stayed behind” appeared to have been destroyed – but maybe not…
The being we think is ‘Balthazar’ is really Abaddon. “Secrets within secrets”: the big reveal was only layer one. Back from the dead, and with a completely plausible need to rebuild his power, not to mention a legitimate grudge against the other gods.
(I’ll cite one bit of evidence…the Abaddon weapons in gem store. An indication he has a future role to play.)
Same issue – helix, first-third vine wall. Maybe an issue with 64 bit client?
EDIT: SOLVED – Run in ‘Fullscreen’ at correct resolution, not ‘Windowed Fullscreen’.

Personally, I’d like to see a year of fixing, tuning, and polishing. I certainly don’t think mounts are worth development time.
I found it pretty easy to solo with a Ranger. Reapers are also very easy. Hardest was Thief because of multiple opponents being the norm.
I don’t think it’s that hard, although it is definitely more difficult than the base Tyria areas. Also, some classes are much easier than others. Reapers laugh at mini raptors and most other threats. I actually found that my ranger can breeze through – a tanky pet is a huge asset.
I suggest looking over your build carefully – figure out what kills you and try to find a countermeasure. For example, Muddy Terrain is super useful on my ranger – slows enemies from getting to me, smashes breakbars, has a low cooldown.
I have yet to see a map that had anywhere near the number of people required, much less the ability to complete it.
Glint’s plan is for her offspring to replace the Elder dragons. The egg just absorbed Mordy lifeforce. One Wurm to Rule Them All.
You heard it here first.
PS: Gleam opened a deli in Cantha.
Ranger tip: Muddy Terrain seems to work really well on breakbars. And I’m thinking Immobilize is a hard CC.
Edit: Ok, Immobilize may not technically quallify (no interrupt), but it does seem to apply immediate damage to breakbars.

Soften enemies up with the hammer, then finish them with Sword auto + Impossible Odds + Healing Dagger(?) thingys.
You can open with Hammer 5 plus immediate Hammer 3, which takes a good chunk of health off an unsuspecting mob. Otherwise spam Hammer 2.
Getting the low level ones is pretty quick, after that I haven’t been worrying about them, just let them build slowly.
My only major gripe is Malyck being apparently forgotten. Maybe we’ll see that story in LS3.
A lesser gripe is that I see no reason that Rata Novus couln’t have been used better – we could have found specific info about Mordremoth and being able to attack him from the Dream. No need to even call it a weakness, just a possible way of attacking him.

So, playing as a group, I made it into the last phase but the rest of the party did not, so I let myself die. When the instance owner hit the reset bot, we ended up with in the last phase but with both kinds of rift – i.e. controlled companions spawning AND the ‘kill mordy’ ones. Very weird, but we finished it.
Has anyone else had rifts spawn off the edge in mid-air? I couldn’t get past that because they were unreachable.
Correcting an earlier statement, the 64 bit client has not in fact crashed for me (I had inadvertently restarted from the old shortcut.) Also runs much smoother until paging kicks in. No real performance difference, but my settings are pretty high.
Crashing problem seems much reduced, although it did eventually crash when I hit 5.3 GB (out of 6 on the machine.)
Next experiment will be to add some memory.
I put on soldier boots, gloves and shoulders. More than enough to keep me alive.
Kormir, because blindfolds…
Personally I’d vote to remove the visuals, and to reduce the sounds just two quick chimes.
My dream of stomping him with the cow finisher is shattered.
I actually never disliked the character, I just thought it bad that as ‘Commander of the Pact’ you were little more than his assistant. The new story-telling is much better.
Very funny in Sparkfly Fen – as you move from one side of the lab defense to the other, it deactivates your facets. o.O
The only thing my OOM crashes have in common is that I’ve been playing for a while when they happen. I’m pretty sure there is a leak. VB seems to be the worst by far.
I’ve started pre-emptively re-launching the game every hour or so.
That happens if somehow the legend stance buff is removed(it shouldn’t be) as it’s used to help control the upkeep skills. Is this any adventure or just specific ones? More information would be useful.
Happening all the time now in Tyrian areas, apparently if you are down-leveled and your effective level changes.
And the chiming…dear gods, the chiming…
So, with Glint trait line equipped but only the heal unlocked, my other utility skills constantly blink at me because they are empty? Am I missing something here?
A good change because a new alt can now do a mix of old and new hero points to get the elite spec.
Super fun. I’ll dock it one point for the pain of Revenant not seeing Herald for a loooong time, but really that is fairly minor. Maps are amazing, gliding is a blast.

Do you have the same exact masteries? Maybe the ‘Lean’ one lets you get higher.
If they just made Hero challenges solo-able I’d be super happy. It sucks to finally reach a tricky one and then find out it is a champion.
Revenants are particularly out of luck – they either need every HoT challenge, or they need to go back and do map completion.
Otherwise I thing the grouping requirements, such as they are, seem ok.

Without going through 60+ pages of thread, I’ll just toss in my 2 cents: I have only one problem with how elite specs work, which is that the HoT Hero Challenges aren’t soloable. I’ve already had the situation of getting to one and then finding out it could not be completed, which is frustrating. Can’t the champions get scaled down for single players?
HoT has lots of Hero Challenges, but none in Verdant Brink…

So we don’t start HoT with out elite specs, we finish it with them. o.O
Implied: Maguuma has its own type of HP, so we all start at 0. Old HP can’t be used to unlock elite epecs.
I don’t get that implied meaning from the blog. Only that Maguuma will have more HPs in which to go hunt down (or earn via wvw if you so choose). Since people are leaning towards the 250 HPs mark to fully unlock the elite line (traits, skills, skins, etc), I highly doubt Maguuma has 250 HP all it’s own. You’d be practically swimming in them if so.
Course, I could be wrong. I guess we’ll see.
(1) " The vendor sells new consumables called Notarized Scrolls of Heroics and Notarized Scrolls of Maguuma Heroics"
(2) "In the interest of fairness to PvE players, we didn’t want to allow any WvW players who may have been stockpiling liquid world experience to instantly rank up a bunch of times and immediately begin unlocking the new expansion hero challenges the moment the expansion released. "
I.e. (1) They are different; and (2) PvE players will NOT be able to instantly rank up HoT challenges.
Implied: Maguuma has its own type of HP, so we all start at 0. Old HP can’t be used to unlock elite epecs.
Start two Revenants! Jump one up, then think about leveling the other one. But I suspect leveling one normally will be painful..imagine having only one legend, or none.
Yeah, the idea that it is so tightly calibrated that a difference of 5% in stats is make or break is clearly impossible.

I’m going to guess that it won’t involve Hero Points at all.
No matter what the number, many people would unlock the specs on day one, and I don’t think ANet wants that. Also, so far we have seen no Hero Challenges in Verdant Brink. So if we will unlock the specs by ‘overcoming challenges’ in the new maps, it can’t be Hero Points.
One idea: make digging up a chest specific to one character only, but increase shovel drop rate to compensate.
With no incentive to have others using shovels, the idea of ‘farming’ maps becomes obsolete.
I’ve had one key drop (in SW).
Aside from the issue of whether specific classes would fill specific roles, there is also the issue of tanking. Even if your character were super tough, there is no way to hold aggro reliably in this game. Also, it makes no sense to have an active combat system with dodging, and then allow a tank to sit there and get hit while everyone else stands around.
Revenant – Limited choice of utilities is made worse by the fact that all skills compete for a single scarce resource, energy. Why waste it on anything other than the best available one?
Personally, I’d remove the mechanic entirely, or at least from weapon skills.
Ankylosaurus…
Moissonneuse really mean ‘harvester’, not reaper. Faucheur is the word for reaper, as in a guy with a scythe.
EDIT My French isn’t quite as good as I thought…
(edited by Naevius.3185)
Switching back and forth between revenant and guardian, it was striking how much better off the guardian is at basically everything.
If I can’t swap weapons my one weapon needs to do more. If I can’t pick and choose utilities they need to be stronger in their selected area. I found it hard to get any form of rotation that made any sense.
I would love to have some complete builds presented along with the logic behind them, because honestly I found little that seemed to have any strong synergy.
Specific complaint: activation times are terrible. Mace #2 – aargh. And the dwarf elite with almost 3 second activation…
…So my assumption is that server decides that you are in some other part of the map…
I agree with this. After a death in Lion’s Arch while standing on a roof, I logged out and back in and found myself on the other side of the city.
Possibly related, I’ve had several cases where I cannot interact with either a downed person or a gathering node, and have to move around before it works.
Can we get the name of each selected specialization displayed above/near/in the first big hexagon?
I know it isn’t as flavorful, but I can’t remember all the background pics.
It would make people’s screenshots of their builds so much easier to read.
Just know that the majority of the player base is not going to blindly drop 50-100 bucks on a game they know little about still.
Right… that’s why Kickstarter is a failure and why nobody spent hundreds of $’s on Star Citizen ships…oh, wait.
If things go smoothly, maybe August. I’d bet on late August.
