Everyones angry, and I agree with them.
Old players SHOULD GET SOMETHING if they’re paying for the base game, and the expansion, when a new player only has to pay for the base game.
I payed 40 dollars for this game.
Now, I need to pay another 50, and someone who hasn’t bought the game only has to pay 50.
Show your support with your wallet, people, DO NOT BUY THIS EXPANSION if you you feel this isn’t right. Bad business is bad business. I love GW, I have been a fan of it for years, but this is low as hell, and its mostly because they’re bagging on the original players. If it was 50 dollars, and it gave things to Original players to make up for it, like a character slot, the extras, ect, then i’d be fine, but, this is just scummy. People say its the cold world of economics, but economics ain’t always right. Vote with your wallet.

Yeah it is for everyone with SweetFX. You need to either delete your bin folder or temporarily move the SweetFX files out of the bin folder. Then your game will be able to start up again. (Seen this in the Account & Technical Support section of the forum.)

Zhaitan was in a dungeon story mode but as we’ve heard around in the recent past, the Anet dungeon team is no more. And I’m of the mind that having it be a map wide event just wouldn’t make sense. Does this mean personal instance format like we’ve seen in Living Story episodes?

While I agree the sacks are ugly and make the engi less desirable they serve a fairly important purpose that ANet would need to solve to remove them. Due to the number of different kits ,the different playstyles and abilities of each, and the speed with which engis can switch between them, it is important that a large obvious visual queue as to which kit is currently in use is important for pvp balance reasons.
Therefore I would suggest you make your suggestion around some sort of fairly large hand based indicator for each kit. Each one would need to be large and unique enough to be easily seen and recognized from at least 1500 range. My concern is that grenades and bandages are not really that big, so either you will have an obnoxiously large, goofy looking grenade/bandage for those kits or you will need to find some other obviously connectable symbol.

Like the questions says, do you think prior to release to HOT, ANet should have a big pool of players Fully Beta test the game b4 it’s release? & i don’t mean open week-ends. I mean hardcore beta test.
Playtesters would beta test to check every aspect of the game. Make sure it gives us the WoW factor when it comes out. Would (Pve, WvsW & Spvp) To check balance & exploits & ect.. & especially to fan out whats fun & what’s not fun to play. I mean if there’s some aspect of the game prior to beta test that playtesters comments on some parts of the game that are just simply to dull to play, i mean why not take advantage of that? Give Anet the chance to add, cut or make changes before release to make sure upon release they have a great game.

Too heavy beta-testing results in the players getting “done” with the content before release.
That’s why there’d be a cap so we don’t all play at once.
If you’re that impatient, then you’re in for a longhaul as the expansion doesn’t release until……I’m guessing August. That’s 6 months from now.

Since everyone seems to be so pre-occupied with maps and compare it to Nightfall and Factions, i hope you all know how map designing and creating works. Sure we had lot’s big maps, but you seem to forget that aside from mobs, there were really nothing there. No vistas, no poi’s, no gathering nodes, no jumping puzzles, nothing. I’m willing to bet that creating Ascalon/Kryta/Shiverpeaks took more time and resources then it took to make the whole of Canthas maps.
Also, i’m pretty sure we’re getting a whole new zone. You know what a zone is? Ascalon is a zone, Kryta is a zone. How many maps do these zones cover? Ascalon covers 6 full-size maps and include a capital city. Even if it has just 2 maps, each map will have 3 layers so that makes it 6 zones. Look at the map, do you really see just 1 map there?
I’m guessing that we get 2 big maps, each with 3 layers making it the same as 6 maps. 6 maps for an expansion is just right.

Colin has already stated in the Pax announcement we are getting one region comprised of three layers. Playable content wise, the release will be small. But as another poster said we are paying for a fix.

Regions are things like Kryta, Shiverpeaks, Ascalon
Kryta has 4 maps, 6 if you include the entirety of LA and Divinity’s Reach
Shiverpeaks has 5 maps, 6 if you include hoelbrek
Ascalon has 6 maps, 7 if you include Black Citadel
So it is safe to assume this new region will have 4-6 maps….along with 3 different levels for each. I would lean a bit more heavily toward 4 because of the verticality.
Then we’ll also probably get a new city hub with the Mursaat, the Golden City

Colin just said in the Post interview that the Expansion takes place immediately after the pact fleet is destroyed, as in minutes after.
I expect them to take the next month detailing the expansion. I would guess it to release in 2 months or so.
Edit: Mike just said HOT will be playable at Pax East and that will be the first time people have access to it.

I really like stealth in games and setalth sections. Except for “meeting the asura” This has to be the worst stealth section I’ve ever seen in a game, ever. A tedious mission with yet more unskippable, cheesy dialogue culminating in a long, boring boss fight which basically involves sitting around waiting for an opportunity to press the Interact key. Whoopy-frickin-doo. Dissapointment doesn’t cover it.
