I’ve been pugging arah with meta mesmer for some time and it works just fine, only problem is really slow kill times.

Don’t forget your sigils of battle and bring blink on Lupicus.

About the spider queen: can i move while fighting her, as long as i stay in melee range?

Because when i play as a squishy class i always end up downed first, sometimes the fight doesnt finish so fast and some groups lack condition cleanse, so if i position myself away from her melee atack but keep next to the red ring under her, does it work?

Here is a good example of how the fight is “intended to be” in melee range in the open field. Basically you need to stay in melee range only when she is about to use one of her autoattacks, and her rotations are allways 2 autoattacks followed with the entangling web.

^ Probably yes but it looks really bad. If you want defensive stats you should just use knights (pow/prec/THOUGH) and then slowly turn into full berserker. I dont know if it will be a better defensive/offensive gear than knights after this new patch but i doubt it.

Healing power is a really bad stat to stack and it scales pretty bad too, making it entirely worthless in PvE even if you are traited for healing stuff, which is already bad enough (mantras, shouts, wathever).

Other classes that only use one mainhand weapon (like mesmer sword) can use sigil of battle at its full potential. If you put it on your mainhand and you swap between your offhands (pistol/sword/focus) it will still proc, so you only have to wait one second after your swap cd and then do it.

So basically what you want is every boss having a necrid barrage (Lupicus phase 2 attack) and we know how much pugs struggle to fight this boss even on range mode. Experienced groups can melee him without stacking and without reflects so mostly you are going to make casual players and random bad pugs very sad.

Honestly you are pretty tanky on warrior even running full offensive gear and build, if you notice that you are going down too much and mobs and bosses are not dying is not your fault, it’s because your healers and tanks are not doing their job.

So yeah, just go 30/25/0/0/15 with berserkers and scholar runes or ruby orbs if you are poor and enjoy those hundred blades.

P.S. Lifesteal food (dragon rolls wathever) will help you to survive a bit more if your healers are noobs.

I am in the same situation than OP but i want to add another question.

If i am just going to stick with exotic armor, what stats should i get to be more optimal as a 30/25 warrior? Just stay with full berserker or i still need to swap to some assassin pieces? how many of them? which ones?

You can dodge just fine if you are AA’ing but auto takes priority over WWA so you need to wait until the GS swing is completed to be able to use it, you can cancel 100B with WWA though. And as Frifox said, if you don’t have WWA to cancel the 100B channeling you need to move first and then dodge.

My only problem with stacking is that in a few cases it is legitimately a exploit.

Other than that, I don’t blame entirely the players, but also the AI of this game:

Some bosses have different mechanics depending if their target is in melee range or far away. Spider Queen don’t uses the AOE poison if you are in melee range even if you are not stacked, Giganticus Lupicus don’t uses his kick if you are on range. So you can’t do GL in range because you are exploiting one of his abilities.

It seems like every single post about stacking = exploit is just because of the Spider Queen. They really want the first champion of a lvl 35 dungeon to be the most super epic fight in the game.

Why they would give new armor skins for “free” dungeon tokens when they can just sell them for 800 gems. I don’t see this changing.

But why people use signets of 25% movespeed on dungeons and boss fights. That is all i want to know.

Yeah, if you don’t care about being useful to your team you can just go full pvt and sentinals to increase your survivability.

Anet wanted to encourage Arah path selling so they broke things to scare pugs and bads away.

Another theory is they want to make a new Arah F/U with Scarlet and a mecha Lupicus.

I have a guildie who main guardian and he is a pretty good player on PvP and PvE, the problem is he uses the same PvP build on PvE (meditations). He never slot things like consecrations, shouts or wathever even if he knows when they can be useful, he says “I won’t use stuff to save bads, i don’t care”. I allways tell him he is probably one of the worst guardians in the world, his build literally sucks and he would be better just rolling a thief but it doesn’t help. He plays how he want.

This is more sad than funny but… I was pugging arah path 2 first time after the last patch and everyone left the party because of the new spider run. I decided to keep going by myself to check the next waypoint spawn. Died once fighting the berserker abomination and the second try it made me aggro the champion drake with the enrage knockback.

If you have wall of reflection and she uses her reflect you can play ping pong with the orb of death!

She allways win tho.

Wall of reflection is weird against the pull if you are melee because you are constantly pushing her, if 1 person pass through the wall or w/e to attack and get pulled everyone will die. Feedback still reflects it.

I am in p2 second time right now and i can confirm the waypoint after Belka not spawning. How is people supposed to pass through all that kittenstorm on the turret

Well, probably guesting is an exploit. If you want to enter the dungeon you must do all the pre events

Some pure WvW players don’t give a kitten about PvE but they care about skins, you can’t force them to learn dungeons, stupid PvE mechanics and possibly have to play with terrible players to get their skins. So yeah, selling paths is a good deed~

Don’t need any more proof that staff is a viable dps option in dungeons. I hope more people look at… no, please.

you can use sigil of energy on your mainhand and 2 offhands, it will still proc if you change only offhand weapons

The other day i was thinking about tribulation mode in dungeons. Stuff like traps in AC or corpses in Arah instantly kill players who trigger them, brigdes on CoF falling down after one player touch them, falling rocks at random locations or where players are standing, lasers randomly appearing in boss fights from CoE, etc.

I like this idea but i don’t really know if it’s good enough and i am not sure if the more hardcore playerbase is looking for stuff like this to make dungeons more challenging.

Yeah sorry my answer wasn’t clear enough. Fractal skins keep droping as exotic weapons AFAIK.

New skins are not available yet AFAIK

Remember that fractals are meant to be just for the challenge and the fun. If you have that, everything else is just numbers. It would be nice if they completely remove the gold and all the random drops and chests from fotm.

Yesterday i pugged arah and there was a thief who kicked 2 players because they left his shadow refugee aggroing mobs. Even when he misplayed the entire run using signet of shadows, SR and shadowstep in every boss fight, he thought he was correct to kick these players for making one mistake.

Usually people flame and kick for the most stupid reasons you can imagine (healing shouts warriors saying someone else lack dps and stuff like that) and you can’t really do anything if you keep playing with randoms so the best solution is find friends, add them and play with them instead of pugs.

I am ready to do my HotW p2 and p3 daily for 1.5g!

You guys are not understanding. You need to have enough Agony Resistance to take only 1% of your HP removed per tick to make a fractal with the “Agonizing Expedition” instability a lot less painful, while making any agony attack from bosses a big joke since you will get barely damaged by it.

Level 40 and 50 have the instability, so if they keep doing that (with level 60-70-etc) they are basically making the agony mechanic pointless for the entire tier unless you SKIP said levels.

You can just make your own LFG with something like “LFXM – Level X – NOT ROLLING SWAMPLAND” and then play the game. If you liked your pug add them to your friendlist and keep playing with them.

Only situation i can think camping staff isn’t that bad is on the first boss of TA killing the elite vines and the archers room, maybe.

I am not sure about the hammer cleave but with axe warrior i can position myself between the turret and the golem (without target) to hit both at the same time, it usually takes 2 AA chains to destroy it. With your build it will take you like 3 minutes tho, and having another player knowing this to help you in a pug is harder than finding a mesmer to support you with his disenchanter. I think you can use shield of the avenger to help a bit more in this fight too but i am not sure.

Everyone agrees that dungeon master title is stupid and its probably on the same level as combat healer since even worse than buying paths you can get carried in every dungeon and get it, people won’t know if you paid for a service or if you were a full time leecher, i don’t understand the upsetting about this.

I don’t think most of the path sellers pug and kick pugs to sell since pugging increase the duration of the runs depending on how many pugs you have, 1-2-3-4 maning a dungeon is way faster than using pugs.

And last, mesmers should get their portal skill completely removed from the game since players need to do all the jp’s by themselves to get their achievements instead of getting ported to the end.

PD: I sell dungeon paths when i teach or do training runs of arah or melee GL with people on my casual guild and we dont get enough for a full party, to help them with repair costs. Please go ahead and block me, you don’t want scrubs like me in your party.

Volcanic Fractal: This fractal is a pain in the kitten for most pugs. Mid boss use some fireballs that you can reflect, they are not that great but will make things go smoother. For last boss you can pretty much make the difference and decide if your group will wipe or succeed. His agony attack animation is very fast and the arrow flies really fast too, you can give your group a breath using feedback in this phases but use it only in emergencies like if you have 4 people downed and need to res everyone, aside from this, its better to learn to dodge the arrow and his other attacks. When you NEED to use feedback (and this is why you actually want to save it) is in every 25% of the hp transition, you need to deal with tons of adds who use proyectile attacks and you cant dodge because they are too much and you need to burst down the shield on boss, combo it with phantasmal warden and temporal curtain and you will make every transition really easy. Since using ranged for this fight is recommended in almost every pug situation, i suggest you use sword/focus to deal with transitions and burst down adds faster, and scepter/sword for the rest of the fight for two extra blocks if you run out of dodges, this will make you pretty much invulnerable. Pay attention at everything he does here, like when and how he uses his reflects, blurred frenzy and blocks, other utilities and F4 when he gets hit by the arrow (this will prevent you to take agony damage)

Uncategorized Fractal: EVERYTHING HERE USE PROYECTILE ATTACKS. keep reflection 100% of the time on harpies and use mantra of concentration if you know you or your group is going to get hit by the KD. The champion flame legion shaman sometimes use fireballs but it’s not his only attack, you can also use the same trick of the dredge fractal on the champion ettin if he get boons up. The mid boss robot use a proyectile spam that can’t be reflected, but there is one attack that hits incredibly hard and you can reflect that, use feedback. Last boss can be a real pain if you lack reflects so keep them up the most you can, notice that you can’t reflect the missiles from one of the golems so get ready to evade that.
