The largest thing I feel is missing ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE from what I have seen in Guild Wars 2 is AI. Boss AI as well as overall enemy AI in this game is very lacking. I really don’t know if this is just due to game design but I feel like certain systems would have to be specifically crafted / redesigned for raiding to be truly effective.

I keep hearing that without any proper feedback what the AI really lacks. Care to elaborate?

Target of target is another important one here. I feel like I missed / wanted this the most while doing dungeons and I really hope we see it during raiding. Being able to tell what an enemy is looking at and being able to act accordingly is amazing.

Watch the environment not the UI. That was the goal of GW2 combat since the beginning.

I would say the one thing to take from other MMOs is to make raid bosses large enough to know where they are at all times; even if they are humans etc. This is kind of the part where gameplay > aesthetics.

While bigger bosses would be generaly a better idea the main issue with the visibility of animations is the massive amount of particle effects (guardian F1 for example is totally overdone and pointless).

I feel like most of the dungeons use one shot mechanics with dodging etc and I wonder if this is really the path you guys are wanting to take with raiding. While having the res downed people feature is nice I don’t think we should be getting tastes of it every 5 seconds while raiding.

I keep hearing that without proper examples all the time. Care to elaborate? Of course if you are on a squishy ele it’s more of a problem than on a warrior.

While I completely support the idea of having people able to choose their role in dungeons its obvious that current content focuses on just dps[…]

And there goes your credibility. False statements and logical fallacies as always.

We see with bosses like Tequatl that we still have the need for roles, we have just masked what a role is by putting people on turrets, bumping up the total to 2, but still leaving out the tank. What we have next is a boss that doesn’t move or target anyone and just stands in place so the dps can attack it.

Defending teams. Just sayin’. Tanks are for removing the threat from the dps players so they can safely damage the enemy (omg it’s all about dps too, who would expect that?!)

I really think it would be nice if we had people wanting to spec mostly heals or mostly defense for these raids. Of course they would still dps and make use of their 1-5s, they would be full support and we would actually have a use for the healing sigils etc.

That can be done in whatever gear you have with proper gameplay. Combo fields and finishers are there for a reason as well other weapons too like guardian hammers for perma protection. But yeah, ignore everything again.

I could probably go on all day about specific ideas for raid encounters but I think I’ll hold back.

Thanks, you lack proper knowledge about the game anyway and you are emotionally biased as well.

Woah dude take a chill pill.

Because the last game to focus on raids is doing great… oh wait!

Well at least the big guilds are going strong… oh wait!

OK, nvm.

Anyhow, if they introduce raids I will leave this game. I can’t event do teq or the wurm because people are beyond stupid so more “sorry, you can do this unless you find 100 players with an IQ above 0” is a total nope for me.

You shouldn’t feel forced to do either Teq or Wurm and if so. Maybe you should take a break from the game. Raids will not affect you at all if you do not make them do so. Just stay away from them when they arrive to the game and do what you’ve always done.

And open world raid is relying too much on individual skill while instanced raids in this game will most likely be better organized and eaiser to coordinate.

I wouldn’t put down my boot in the ground just yet. Wait and see what the future CDI has to offer before making the decision

Dragon's Reach Part 2 Trailer

Whenever I see more Inquest and magitech I yawn. Such boredom.

Besides, when will we see the dragon himself? I seriously doubt that the last scene of trailer (something getting closer to NPCs) is Mordy, more like one, bigger vine or flower or something. Do we have to wait for the end battle to see who are we even fighting with ?

Well to be fair, we didn’t see Zhaitan until a few minutes before we killed it. Why do you expect we’ll somehow confront Mordy so soon and fully?

Besides, it’s been established that the vines attacking waypoints are Mordy itself. So in a way, you already have seen our newest leafy dragon friend.

Tell me again how good the personal story was again? I think it would create greater story if we were to see Mordremoth, not the whole dragon but a glimpse of it and the destructional power it has. Not just vines poppin out of the ground for the next coming months.

Tell me again how deadly and awesome this dragon is if he appears at the grove and then leaves and the pale tree is alive and the grove intact?

Because LA could be ruined, it’s not the home city or origin place for any player characters. The grove? If an elder dragon attacked the grove, I’d expect the pale tree to end up heavily wounded or dead. Which means the Sylvari as a race just went endangered or without any way to get more numbers. Which means the Sylvari personal story parts now are super confusing because even with time split and all, they are talking to the pale tree… who as soon as they leave the instance is a dead husk.

I’m sorry, but I don’t support the idea of Mordremoth showing up personally to the summit. A champion sure, but not him.

I do agree with you, I didn’t mean for Mordremoth to show up at the pale tree. Just sometime in story.

I took a break from the game for a while(a month or so) and now when I’m back just enjoying the game I see the prices on TP for the precursors. I’m now more demotivated than ever to make a legendary. I don’t spend many hours ingame but I can tell I’ll never catch up with the inflation at this rate.

Make them craftable, I don’t care if total cost for craftable precursor is 2000g. At least it’s a goal I can work towards in my own pace and that’s not based upon pure luck from drop in pve or mystic forge.

Tengu in S2?

in Living World

Posted by: Ouimette.5902

Ouimette.5902

Honestly, I see it being more practical to introduce in Season 3 or whenever Primordus becomes a threat. They would be a perfect race to lead into Cantha, with their desire to retake the prestigious lands.

Maybe yes as a playable race, but I would have to disagree with this. The tengu should be coming into this season in the form of NPC’s for the story, It would also be a good time for a intoduction to set up for the future playable race. Regaurdless of when Primordus becomes a threat, Mordi is THE threat now, over anything else, even the other elder dragons that are out causing their own damage right now. I highly doubt Mordi is going to care about the tengu’s sepperation from the rest of the world. He is going to take their land at the same time he takes the rest of it, and it seems like he is taking EVERYTHING all at once. It would make sense to bring them in finally this season. Open up the two maps they have, and make a couple episodes about us helping them with their most likely infestation of vines. For all we know they might have some secret knowledge or artifact that will help in defeating Mordi, they are a very old and ancient race after all. Even if they wanted to stay out of it and only use these things to rid Mordi for their own benefit, they will still have to open their gates and enter the world to use it.

That idea seems forced and if it would happen it would feel so poorly implementated since we haven’t heard from Tengu at all in this season. To be honest, if there’s a race that would be playable and rightfully so since they seem to have more connection to the story than the tengu, it is the centaurs. Not that I’d ever want centaur playable but at least it would make more sense.

Tengu should’ve been introduced as story npcs last patch because otherwise it would just feel shoehorned into the story.

Still waiting for end game content

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ouimette.5902

The time invested and skill required in the harder dungeons should be substantially more than the easy dungeon. But it should NOT be relying on what gear you have. If a new players comes to the game and sees another player wearing a really cool looking armor along with a really awesome looking weapon. Which answer is best when he/she asks how that player got that?

“Yeah well he beat the “Dark Matter Dragon” in the dungeon “A Rip in Space” , it takes a while to get but it looks pretty cool doesn’kitten"
or
“Yeah well you can just buy it from the gem store. It’s actually on a 20% sale right now.”

Guild Wars 2 is not about gear treadmills. Treadmills are instead replaced by cosmetics. But the lack of new cosmetics in the game accessible only by playing is kind of depressing if you compare it to the constantly new things added to the gem store and Black Lion Chests.

And since the game doesn’t have a monthly subscription it can somewhat be relatable to a free2play and those game are very often pay2win since they are focused around gear treadmills. But GW2 doesn’t have that, it has cosmetics. So instead of a pay2win we get a pay2look.

An MMORPG should be fun to play. That almost goes without saying. But it cannot sustain a long lifetime purely through casual gameplay. It really needs harder content with an incentive to replay it to make players stay. Now don’t get me wrong, I do hope ArenaNet proves me wrong, I really do, and I wish them good luck in that case. But for me, an active player since release to roughly a month back, these are the changes I’d wish to see if I would resume my active playing again into GW2.

tl;dr
There’s no tl;dr.

Still waiting for end game content

Ouimette.5902

That is true, and they should give an incentive for player to go toward the harder content.

It is not that easy. Contrary to what a lot of people believe Anet really made a game where you dont have to grind for anything. You can enjoy the whole game by just playing what content you want. You dont need ascended gear, you dont need exotic gear. Even rares are optional really. That requires a few things that are at odds with what you suggest. Mainly that content has to be doable using greens and blues which in turn means that people in ascended gear more or less have kitten statistical advantage over people who play casually and dont see Best in Slot.

That makes it essentially very problematic to do what you suggest. If they make hard content that has unique rewards then they have to make it hard for people with BiS gear which essentially becomes impossible for people who are at 1/2 stength because they dont have good gear. In turn that would mean that without BiS you’re cut out of certain rewards which in turn breaks their promise.

Likewise if they do hard content that still rewards the same stuff as everything else no one will do that hard content since it will turn out to be more profitable to do the quick easy content every time.

Before you read, forgive me for the long post.

I have to agree AND disagree with you on that. While the game is set out to be a very casual game there’s always room for improvement amongst us players. Casuals and elitist likewise. There should be an incentive to go for the harder content or “un-familiar” content in the game. And here I agree with you. Gear should not be a requirement but more or less the reliability on a players movement and understandment of the mechanics that happens around him/her. It may sound way more harder than it actually is but when you think about it, the game in its current state is heavily focused on corner stacking and FGS #4(in the instanced content).

So then we have the two MEGA-bosses. Tequatl and the 3-headed wurm. Sure there’s an incentive to go for that content. But it’s all about luck pretty much where a person might be doing one of these 2 contents for first time and get a skin drop. This is something I’m personally against. But the main point of the content is not about the drop, it’s about fun. Right? But once you’ve done it 75+ times. It’s more of a habit than enjoyment to do it. I will eventually get bored of the content since the fun is slowly getting away and the lack of slow progression towards a skin replaced by a ridiculous rng is really not enough to keep a player going. Because the drop is more of a bonus while doing the enjoyable content.

So I get burned out. What do I do? I take a break of course! And this is where I’d say ArenaNet fails with a large portion of their lvl80+ content. The game fails to deliver an incentive to keep a player going. The fun doesn’t last forever. The living story is a really innovative idea though and I’m curious about how different LS season 2 will be from season 1.

But then again as I mentioned in my previous post in this thread, I will bring it up regarding what you said about profit. If I would do the harder content(if it will ever come into the game), it should only be focused on the prestige of doing it. Not financially. The game has been so heavily focused on just making gold or getting mats that pretty much everything can more or less be accessible in the game purely through purchases with gold. Even dungeon skins since you can buy tokens through dungeon selling.

Just a quick example of what I’m trying to say.

Easy dungeon reward: 1,5G, Blood dripping sword(after 300 tokens)
Medium dungeon reward: 1,5G, Blood dripping sword/w teeth(after 300 tokens)
Harder dungeon reward: 1,5G, Dragon jaw sword with dripping blood(after 300 tokens)

The problem even with the so called end game that exist in GW2 right now is that when you are going for something you pretty much do it in the same way as everything else.

Legendary: Gold farm
Ascended Gear: Gold farm
Cultural armor: Gold farm
F****N MINI PETS:… gold farm.

Yeah sure there is other things to farm that’s not accesible through gold. Such as ascended trinkets, fractal skins and fractal backpiece and dungeon skins. But those skins have been in the game for quite some time now.

Yes, Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have gear treadmills but the game is more focused on the cosmetics so why not add more grindable cosmetics to the game? Instead we get everything fed through the gem store.

And these little other things we get are depressing rng drops from teq and wurm. And how is that armor looking? It’s already existing armor with some particle effects.

More grind for new cosmetics and more account bound and less gem store armor and soulbound equipment. You will never feel prestigious when everything can be bought from the TP.

A question about GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ouimette.5902

Ouimette.5902

Right now in this moment I’m not playing the game, but I’m keeping an eye on the forum and on reddit to see if there’s anything new that might tempt me to start play again.

This is my personal problems to why I really don’t like this game no more.

1. RnG; There’s waaay to much RnG in the endgame to actually achieve the things you want. It’s on the verge to depressing and I’m not enjoying spending over 5-6 months on trying to get a wurm skin, let alone even get a precursor drop. There’s no reward in it.

2. Gold; right now gold is the only thing you want nowadays. Sure, there’s nothing wrong about that. But when you need 250 Powerful Blood you rather buy that off the TP instead of going to a random place where you can get a sustainable farm each day. The Bloods(T6 mats) could even be account bound if it would mess up the economic too much.

3. Acquiring gold; Only good way to get gold right now is by doing dungeon. I grew tired of doing them since I felt like a robot each day logging on and then doing daily runs to then log off. It was no excitement in what I was doing, only a daily routine. Sure once in a while I would get an exotic that I could sell for right under 1 gold, but that’s it.

The point is the game has some really prestigious things in the “end-game” but they’re all based on luck. And besides that is just

  1. Farm gold
  2. Buy from TP
  3. Repeat

IMO it’s boring and it doesn’t work to keep a game alive for several years.

Farewell GW2

I dont understand why ppl have a problem with goodbye posts. I understand why Anet dont want them, but other players?

Because 99% of the goodbye posts are simply QQ posts (just like this thread), where OP is crying over what he/she didn’t like about the game. So instead of just moving on, he or she has to keep on posting and giving their reasons for why this game supposedly sucks.

Nobody cares if you dislike the game. If you can’t let go, it just proves you’ve been highly addicted.

Their reasons for not liking the game are often not even valid. Take for example the OP’s reason for the role a class play’s (The OP’s essay on multiplayer play). From half reading his/her post, it seems that queensdale champ train or Orr train, some casual dungeon and living story content was the most this OP has ever done.
Go into WvW and experience real combat at first hand and you’ll learn how important certain class roles are in real PvP based battles.

Only yourself can make the game as boring or as interesting and exciting as possible.

No you’re missing the point. OP is leaving, and he/she does so telling us why. Regarding if a dev posts in this thread or not they might read it. So even if it’s not interesting to you it’s still valuable information to the devs.

It doesn’t matter if WvW takes much higher skills than dungeons or PvE in general. If that gameplay doesn’t appeal to me should I just think “tough luck” and accept that this is the game and this is what it’s going to be? No, of course not, that’s where opinion kicks in. And OP just did that. (S)He’s not a community, (s)he’s not a guild nor is (s)he muliple persons. (S)he’s 1 person giving out a good explanation why the game is in her/his opinion not good.

Should the devs in your opinion just reply with “Too bad for you then” and don’t care at all about what OP said?

But a search-function for the forums. Nah-uh, that’s way over their paygrade

No but seriously, I’ve never bothered with the search function so I’ve grown to use the forum by searching manually. Have the devs forgotten or something? I mean… I don’t do programing but a search function for a forum? That’s seems like something you learn in “Programming 101 for beginners”.

Queensdale's Death

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ouimette.5902

Ouimette.5902

People arguing about the death of QD-train(not implying OP did) was a bad thing seems to see past what else the game has to offer.

First of all, the QD-train is dead. But not champ trains overall. There’s still plenty of zones with champions in it to be found. I’ve been playing since day-1 release and I’m still not fully familiar with zones such as Iron Marches or Timberline Falls. Who knows how many champions are hiding there?

Sure economy will be affected by this but even if the train is dead. I don’t believe all those people just quit the game and our supplies of mats to TP is disappearing.

Face the fact that every single MMO is boring in the low levels, that’s what keeps you motivated to level up. To experience more epic stuff and feel a development in your own skills. The train didn’t provide anything of that to a new player.

  1. press number 1
  2. loot
  3. wp
  4. run
  5. repeat

That’s the train and in such a low level zone as QD there’s no teamwork or difficulty since everything in that zone is killed so easy. It’s a braindead farm. I’m all in for champ trains but it doesn’t belong in the starter zones.

I personally think it’s kind of good with the RnG within fractals but I think it should be the opposite of what it is now. Instead of having the whole range of different weapons the thing that should be the rare drop is the fractal backpiece. Now of course that can’t be changed since fractals have existed for too long and so many already have it. But it could be thought of in future dungeons.

A dungeon should have a wide variety of stuff available through it via tokens much like what we do have now. And then it should have a very few rare drops based from RnG, something specific to the dungeon. It kind of already exist but it’s mostly just greens and blues, yeah “ring of the catacombs” I’m talking to you.

Those really, REALLY rare stuff could be things such as mini pets, backpieces, tonics, recipes. You know stuff that can be used by all professions. The fractal skins are rare ones but I don’t wanna do fractals every day for a month to then recieve a harpoon gun for my mesmer. It takes away some of the motivation and since this game is so heavily focused on cosmetics one of the hard obtained skins in the end game should not have such a ridiculous rng. I wanne feel pride and prestige when I wear my hard earned end-game skins. This game suffers from end game rng and much in the game is just focused on getting gold since you can pretty much get everything on TP nowadays.

What I’d like is to see is low level zones at first and then the closer we get to the dragon the higher the level cap will be to then at a point finally reach 80. It would make a nice contrast along with a zone design where we would gradually see more and more corrupted lands caused by the dragon. But that’s just my wish. That’s a really nice observation. But if destruction were the case wouldn’t it cause disasters in the Maguuma regions we haven’t explored yet? Since that is mostly likely the place Mordremoth will be at?

Maybe season 2 will hold something similar to like, protect refugees as they flee their destroyed homeland in maguuma or something similar. I see no reason for destruction(even though I’d like to) in Caledon Forest or Brisban Wildlands since they are probably still too far away from the havoc Mordremoth can cause.

Now there’s still alot of mysteries regarding this Elder Dragon, the biggest 2 is probably it’s way of corruption and it’s minions. We can argue it’s the nightmare court but there’s no proof as of yet. I’m still very eager to see what we will discover into this new season 2. I hope it will be a much darker and more serious storyline this time.

We’ll just have to wait.

I do agree with you. It’s a bad measurement of skill but it’s also the best we got right now. Hopefully the LFG-tool will be upgraded with better search functions in the future but right now this is the way to do it.

I however do not mind the “LFG Zerk Only 7,000+ AP Ping Gear or kick!” attitude. If that is how people want to play I respect them for it and I just avoid them.

I don’t see a necessity nor information enough on making out who you are as a person. I don’t hold a grudge against you but I do hold a grudge against people who use other people.

I admit I constantly go on twitch to watch PurpleMiku solo arah. It’s enjoyable to watch and also fascinating to see the skills that person posses of doing such a thing. But when this trend is getting missused and people are getting hurt by it. Why should the victims adapt to this problem instead of the problem getting fixed?

Now as I previously mentioned, I don’t mind putting in the small efforts of opening the instance. But why should people really need to do that? Ask yourself that. It’s not really just people taking advantage of selling dungeons, but it’s also the easy kick mechanic and party leader who hold the dungeon. There’s much to be fixed and dungeon selling do have pros about it. But it’s the cons that needs to be dealt with.

Simply put. The combination of easy kicking along with the amount gold you can earn on certain dungeons at certain paths is a bad mixture. It’s an issue that needs to be dealt with.

I’ll admit I was hot-headed about it being bannable so I’ll take that back. But I still think this is something that should be looked upon and dealt with. If I knew the answer I would share it. But I sadly don’t.

Exactly that was what I trying to get through you with those last words “(see what I did there?)”. I made implications such as you did after I wrote my first post in this thread. There’s no point in arguing with a person who fail to even see the full message of what I’m trying to get through. You just picks out bits and pieces of what I actually was trying to say and make up your own interpretations of it.

In other words: I am not high enough level / don’t have story / can’t open / don’t like pressing print screen! Wah! C
Soloers should give their runs for free! (Because that isn’t virtual slavery or anything)

What a kitty.

Wow, you surely argument like everythings black and white. Seriously, should I really need to tell you my total playtime in the game and my overall experience? That will just make it look like a e-kitten measurement competition. You obviously fail to see my point of view from this topic since you’re so heavily focused on guarding the fact that selling dungeons wouldn’t do any harm.

It’s a toxic outcome of what’s happening when “hardcore-l33t-gamers” are blended into casual game difficulties. I really don’t mind that much about the small efforts needed to do the standard “un-written rules to pug” in GW2, but the simple fact that they even exist is a joke. And even if I would screencap but still get kick, the harm is done and I don’t want to run around feeling like a paranoid jerk playing.

Why do you even imply such a thing as soloers should give their run for free? Again, I fail to see how my effort into give an opinion regarding this topic can even remotely give you such a tought? Stop thinking so selfishly.

But oh well.. You’re an elitist taking advantage over poor designs and mechanics and you fail to see the better good for this casual community in this casual game(see what I did there?).

Active challenges in GW2 and in Wildstar

I recently tried the WS beta and I gotta say that game cracked me up sometimes. Especially when I leveled up and heard a voice ’’Oh kitten you leveled up, way to go cupcake". But again and again I wanted to go play Gw2 all the time while playing.

I guess that would be mostly because I was just grinding my way up level after level. So I went on my 80’s in Gw2 and did what I usually do. Some daily PvP, dungeon runs, world bosses and ascended crafting. But while I was playing I got reminded about what I missed. The hardcore stuff, which WildStar has. So I went back and continued to level in WS and yet I became bored doing the leveling.

The point is. Guild Wars 2 really has a solid casual gameplay but in more recent times. I just log on daily and do the thing I least don’t feel like doing. Cause I’ve done everything in the game 100 times over and I’m growing further and further away from GW2. And I hate it. Because I love the game and I see so much potential it has. But it comes from an egoistic point of view since not everyone wants the hardcore stuff(since megaservers, teq and wurm doesn’t count).

WildStar is a game where you have to haul your kitten through all the boring low level zones all the way to the “elder(end)-games”. I maybe will give it a chance but I rather want GW2 to get that.

ArenaNet has spoken alot about “creating a foundation for the game”. So I’d guess they are speaking about alot to do regarding to the dungeons, achievements, daily rewards and so forth. But with their constant temporary content from the living story the game will never actually be any different and create a dull game. Dungeons as the aetherpirates hideout and the molten facility dissapears and queen’s gauntlet is still closed. Instead the game get new added permanent things such as crab toss, belcher’s bluff and sanctum sprint.

This game suffers from end game and suffers from ridiculous rng, so things to actually really work hard for right now such as legendary and fractal skins is not really worth putting the time into. And ever since the feature pack the inflation on precursors is frightening.

But then again, I have my hopes up for the future and since it’s f2p I won’t take any harm from taking a break from it. But I got to stop lying to myself, this game is starting to get really boring. And that’s an opinion from a player who was there from the beginning.

Now when season 1 is over which had been active for over a year. ArenaNet now also have data and feedback for a years worth of content. People are not happy about the first season 1. And that’s good. Cause that will most likely cause changes towards season 2.

We already know that instead of a LS release every second week we will get a release more apart from one another. So what can we make out of that fact?

  • More content with each release
  • Probably not as much brainless zerg content
  • More love and care
  • More depth in story
  • More replayability

An End to the Queensdale Train

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Nerf the kitten out of QD-train and move it to say, Timberline Falls? A gorgeous looking map with no whatsoever replayable content in it.

As previous mentioned again and again. The train is not per say wrong to exist but the toxic players(and I might say that’s only a handful of everyone doing the train) are making it look bad. Most of the players doing the train just shrugs it off with a “hey, it’s a newbie zone” and moves on. But if I meet 10 new people and out of those 10, 1 is a complete kittenface I will remember that person instead of the other 9. That’s the toxic image QD-train shows.

Champ train should in my opinion be amongst the end-game content. It’s a brainless, relaxing(personal opinion) way of make a slow but steady profit in the wallet and bank but allas, it should be in the end game. And that end-game content doesn’t fit in the starter zone.

And excuses such as people will most likely never even see the train in QD when they’re new to the game. That’s BS. I’ve done the train and I’ve seen numerous times people coming to the zerg and be like “wow why are there so many people here?”. And I’ve even on one occasion helped a new player with which waypoints he should take for the campions. I might add he became bored and logged out after 10 mins( :p )

The train is anyway only profitable for a lvl 80 if you want mats and money. The bags which drops for lower-level players only contains green gear for their level at best. And in really rare occasions, a rare. But it’s alot more profitable for a newbie to explore the world instead of doing champ-train. They learn the game mechanics much better and also get a better picture of the different choices of gameplay the game provides.

As a lvl 80(even downscaled), I agree champ train can be relaxing and also a slow profit.

But as a level 1 to, let’s say, 68 I would be bored kittenless.

Nerf the QD-train, move it to another higher level zone, problem solved.

Unfortunately there’s not much to do. Situations like these are rare and the kittenbags who does this should be accused for something. If “verbal abuse” is a enough to be banned then kittenty low-life behavior should be also. But there’s nothing to do right now really.

  • Make sure to open the instance
  • Run with 1 or more friends
  • Screencap the names of the people you play with

People should be encouraged to play with other players but this dungeon selling trend even on dungeons as AC(the easiest dungeon regarding all paths in the game) just causes problems and in my opinion wrong way of making money if other people are hurt by it.

But I just have to find something else meanwhile and get my thoughts on other things. I’d like to think they are 110% busy with updates and living story and if that was the case, the silence would be somewhat calming. But I think they’re really working kitten china release.

Edit: apperantly you can’t write “on” after “hard” without it being censored.

Thief, the pvp profession that sucks at pvp

Ouimette.5902

Anyways i do think thief needs a little buff ( little one) hopefully anet will do something about it

What? There’s no whatsoever constructive criticism about your post how the profession is broken or what might be the issue about the mechanics or not. You just want a buff for really no reason. Thieves seems to be in a great position in PvP right now and talking about PvE as if it were hard content is not really worth discussing.

Face it everyone, there’s no holy trinity in this game but there’s a meta trinity and that’s warriors, guardians and elementalist. All other professions is just an extra DPS spot and sure thieves are a great tool for speed dungeons. They just put down shadow refugee and then you skip all content. But regarding DPS they’re just as viable as a DPS-specced engi, ranger, necro or mesmer. If you beg to differ and don’t agree, then tell me again why you need buff?

Thief is a really steep learning curve but it’s a solid one with mechanics that are not really broken. Try that with a mesmer instead, it’s even more steeper of a learning curve but right now it’s relying on broken phantasms(main source of DPS) and nerfs to the DPS they already had a hard time maintaining than other classes.

Sorry but this is just a QQ thread.

Unbalanced teams(SoloQ)

in PvP

Ouimette.5902

I’ve been playing the game since the day it was released and I’m familiar with pretty much every aspect of the game. I’ve done my PvP enough to be a mediocre player and I’m currently rank 20.

Now forgive me if this has been brought up before(which it most likely have) but before the feature pack I did PvP too. I was always a bit on the edge when I lost a game and to then find out that my opponents was almost triple the rank I was and hence a lot more experience.

And it’s still like this.

What exactly are the ranks for if not to be implemented in a system where it can sort out more seasoned players against other seasoned players and not against newbies? I do also play CS:GO a lot and sometimes I can get a queue up to 10 minutes. Only to be matched up against equal opponents. Why does this game don’t have a similar system?

It’s so simple and yet so functional. I don’t mind a long queue if it will bring me “equaly” strong opponents. But I do not enjoy being slaughtered again and again and again. It’s simply not fun.

Let’s say like this.

From rank 1-79 the system matches me up with players from within 10 ranks from mine. That way it will be a fair matchup and at least a balance in teams(skillwise).

Then from rank 80 it will matchup depending on W/L ratio. That means players who win more often will meet the same, vice versa and hence creating equal matchups.

Don’t face me against rank 80’s only 10 sec after I join queue. That’s a joke of a system.

What TWO Things Would You Like to See?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ouimette.5902

1) New dungeons and armor
The dungeons we already have all play a part in the personal story or living story except the vanilla-fractals. I want dungeons which explore dangerous parts of Tyria and that doesn’t involve in some sort of story related to the living story, sure the explorable paths aren’t exactly related to the personal story that much, but I want the world to feel more ’’big’’. As of now everything seems connected in one way or another.

Let’s say we do venture in to the Maguuma Wastes who doesn’t say we wouldn’t find.

  • An old “’empty” Seer temple.
  • Destroyer tunnels with a hive.
  • A dead forest with rumours of a lost Mursaat lingering there.
  • A dead Pale Tree, what happened there?

We have a huge wiki with so much lore and I’ve read much of it. I can say meanwhile and after I read it my love for Tyria and all developers behind everything grew so much bigger. I’d like more of what we can find on wiki into the game. And of course with new dungeons I’d like more weapons and armor from that too.

2)Raid-content
Right now the game really ain’t that hard in PvE. Many of the people wish to get “raid-like” content. I do too. With the new megaservers Tequatl and the Wurm is depressing since it’s all about you getting onto a good version of the map. I just want instanced bosses with similar mechanics to what we already have. Not just a big meatbag with 1M HP but actually organized content.

And maybe with this new organized raid content we can have a system similar to the dungeons. Tokens in some way earned to then later on spend on very prestigious stuff(cosmetic looking of course). This game feels less and less rewarding with the constant armor we only get to gem store and that the legendary precursors is just pure RnG and with the inflation on them on TP. I gotta say, the Fractal Capacitor is a great item of prestige. Because that thing can’t be bought since the fractal relics is account bound. It’s a hard work to get to that item and I want more like that related to the raid.

I got tons of things I want to the game but these 2 are my most wanted.

A question about buying VS crafting something

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Ouimette.5902

May I ask what staff it is you are wanting to craft?

As with most weapons it is cheaper to craft it rather than buying it straight off the TP. Even buying the mats on TP and then craft will mostly be cheaper. If I knew what staff it is you want to craft I can be more certain whether or not it is worth it.
