Hey both of you! Thanks for the interest in the build! So far I am still playing the build, I have tested some different things with the food and Sigils!

And this will ofc. come out like bragging, but I still haven’t lost a single 1vs1 and I have been doing plenty of duels! Duels against good roamers that beat me, when I’m using other builds! I can still win outnumbered fights, have a few 1vs3 laying around and some sweet 1vs2, which all will be put into a footage soon enough!
The build is still the most fun roaming build I have ever played and my succes rate with is great! You can fight anything and feel you can win, you don’t have to fear ranged, melee, power nor condi!

The only thing that can be “annoying” sometimes, is it can be hard to down super tanky and sustainy people in a 1vs2 and that Daredevils with the remove immobilse on dodge trait, I simply can’t kill xD But oh well, it’s a Thief and they can’t kill me either, so I don’t mind!

But yeah, I’m slowly getting some footage for a new video with the build in the “live”, but I have been busy in “prime” time and still not that many people doing WvW these days! Have been better today tho!

But I would for sure recommend trying the build out, for nothing else then that’s it’s a lot of fun to play and very different from classic mesmer builds!

I’m running something similar, only with Vampirism runes. I realy like life leach(dmg and heal) it is realy fun to play:D and i cant decide between Time Catches up and All’s Well That Ends Well(especialy that i prefere gravity well)

Indeed. II would like to see its cooldown go down to 20 secs by default and the bounce is foe-ally-foe. But if the alacrity will make it too powerful for it to have a lower cooldown, then at least change the bounce.

They didn’t worry about that for all the phantasms that have lower cooldowns, and it’s currently weaker than all of them.

I say lower it to 23s, and give it 2 burn stacks instead of 1. The math says it’ll be just about the same place as iDuelist, maybe a little ahead on condi damage, but way behind on physical damage.

^this and/or i would also change Fury for something else that mesmer lack, eg. short 1,5 sec stability. If not for dmg i want consider PM good for utility.

Can we make Phantasmal Mage a good skill? It is the worst phantasm, used only kittenter folder. What is more, 30 sec cd? We are now well into the third year when this phantasm suck, IMO it is time to change that.

I’m fine with trap dmg, traps should be hard to set and give big reward when triggered. But now it is riddiculous, word trap is skewed. Traps must have cast time. I even tell: buff them but give 1,5 sec cast time.

New map is beautiful, and it is nice to explore but it is PvE map not WvW. Things could be different if it was battle 1k ppl vs 1k vs 1k. Now it is simply ghost town. I’m on Far Shiverpeaks, today i tried roam for 1h and meet one enemy. Not fun at all

My main is mesmer and I’m happy with this nerf. Maybe now rookie mesmers start manage thier stealths not just spam them. What is more IMO Inspiration line is better for pvp anyway(especialy with burning everywhere).

Healing Prism

I love inspiration line except Healing Prism it is really underwhelming. I started wondering how we can improve it. It is my idea: “On interrupt heal yourself and allies” remove icd and leave the rest. I’m big fan of interrupt traits, they are skill based, and fun to use. IMO Healing Prism is one of the worts minors in current form.

those things should come free, not eating up a minor trait slot like that.

Remember you don’t exchange your tools thanks to that minor you get more. (DH and Reaper are exceptios and only for class mechanics) Whole buch of toys that you can get axcess only if you take Elite spec. Do you want see only Berserkes exange of Warriors or want more diversity and sometime encounter warrior sometime berserker?

Good idea, big NO for passive play. What is more diamond skin counters not only dmg conditions, but also all movement-impairing effects. Try disrupt DS ele rotation with chill.

Nah old condi PU was worse(more passive) remember that all clone death traits are gone. PU power is more squishy and to maximalize DMG have to run without condi clear. What is more you can still outrun almost any PU build, just ignore them.

Dire- omg no it would be cancer
perpex-same as dire (eg. Confusing Images 6 stack confusion for 15 sec….) will result condi mesmers/engis/thieves outbreak. (several faceroll WvW builds depends on preplexity runes)

Easy Mantra Solution

The easiest way to fix the problem that you have one or two stacks remaining crippling you for the next fight or forcing you to blow these stacks into air would be check your mantra stack upon exiting combat mode.
If you got any stacks from a mantra left when you exit combat mode you instantly regain all of your stacks for the mantra.
If you don’t have any stacks the mantra needs to be charged normally.

I like it but there is some issues witch fight reseting, it can be abused.

IMO mantras should work like that: you can pre-cast mantras even witch cooldown, but cooldown remains and you cant use stacks till cooldown expires.

Signets of inspiration is for the swiftness, distortion and fairly low cd, went mental anguish due to not knowing what else (went down that tree in the first place to get the signet trait) and this being a fairly bursts condi undead provides max condi dmg and synergies well with my amulet.

Signets of inspiration has long cast(long for distortion use) so distortion from it is rather lackluster, for pvp witch small maps blink is better than 50% swiftness uptime(less if you use active) What is more it boost your survi and mobility adds stun break and allow to reach spots verticaly. IMO blink is mandatory. Nightmares are better because condi duration also apply to blind, weakness, poison etc. 15% condi duration > ~100 condi dmg and you get usefull fear. Power block is imo only option from domination in condi build

Give it internal cd 10sec like Ineptitude and it should be fine. Mirror blade air/fire sigils nerf lowered mesmer burst. What is more matras are “fixed” and skill that you cast for 2 3/4 sec should be strong

2 thieves at far=lost mid(if we compare teams with same skill lvl). That usualy ends with poor rotation and losing a mach. Two thieves team is not viable, they can burst you quick but they lack aoe, utility and support skills. PvP is conquest and you fight on point where is a lot aoe spam. Thief is excelent roamer but more than one is useless

This is regarding two thieves. Against two of anything else, be they different proffesions or the same, you can at least fight back or try to disengage if they’re too much. Against two thieves, you can do neither, especially if they get the drop on you first.

You realize that thieves that can burst that quick die from 2-3 hits, rampage and auto on point and thieves have to flee(or die instantly). 2 thieves in enemy team is bonus for your group, you may go downed several times but all in all it is handicap.

IMHO somebody from anet loves play PU and can’t stand any other condi build -.- , if you want take dmg from MtD give us some control instead eg. Enemies hit by shatter skills are inflicted with torment and whenever you youse shatter skill you inflict 2 sec chill around you (you can give icd for 4 -5sec).

One more point that cele is not optimal for mes is that we lack aoe burning, our condition are good when they are used on full condi burst spec(also not optimal, in this game mode they not efective enough in longer battles when you have put presure on enemies), IMO burning is too important for cele/condi, and character without it always be lackluster. It is good that someone wants to remove our power/shatter chains, this build is quite strong 1vs1 but pshatter is simply more usefull for a team.

The most ridiculous thing is might stacking capabilities, it is broken that one character can have 20+ stack of might all the time. With cele amulet thing is even worse. In this meta, MtD will be always inferior than power(tpvp). Power shatter has incredible synergy with thief. Spike dmg and utility is our role in the party, and for that power is better.

Yes, but you must remember that if you shatter f4, clones don’t approach target, they die on the spot

for tPvP meta is shatter with gs/staff and thief, nothing more is considered viable. For solo q you have more options, lockdown, shatter, condi CI, full dps mantras. PU is good for WvW roaming i prefer go hybrid(condi/dps) with mantras(MoR and MoD), 0/6/6/1/0, i use runes of perplexity. scepter/torch(or pistol) and sword/focus.

I can’t understand why MI is an elite skill, i dont want to comapre it with shadow refuge which is superrior skill in almost all aspects (and it is only utility), but comparing MI with Veil shows that MI is underwhelmed. Veil hide ppl without amount restrictions, it is glamour and wroks with glamours traits, cast time 1/4 vs 1 3/4. IMHO any idea that makes this skill worth calling Elite is good.

Your typical 4/4/0/0/6 shatter is the TPvP meta for a reason. Aoe boon rip, huge spike damage, good mobility and good control. Also its synergy with a thief for your teams roaming comp is devastating.

^This, tpvp meta is standard shatter with thief, for solo q mantra/lockdown works too. I sometimes for fun play condi CI but it works only because ppl don’t expect this
