Um ya. And people who do wvw or pvp REALLLY hate it. “Hey you want something fun and cool, that you can’t buy off the tp? Then play hundreds of hours of boring awful pve” Same thing anet does for everything interesting in game. It’s absolute rubbish. Want to make ascended armour, sure PVE some MORE.

Anet screws up by making a big blob 4 server mess that is fun for no one. SBI wins against SoS and YB, goes up to 8 and the very next week gets dropped down to t4 because anet decides to play with the points. It’s stupid, it’s boring and it’s wrong. GG anet, gg.

The new borderlands. Addition of ridiculous and OP banners, airship strikes, chilling fog and other broken mechanics. Not addressing the normal population decrease that games this old have. The constant addition of pve elements in wvw. The horrible lag in the pve event in BL.

Aegis? HAHAHAHAHA. Another skill to add to the trash. No one will EVER use this again. Seriously, I get the alacrity nerf but everything else is just garbage. Buffing condi, again? Condi is what is op. So, thief needs more evade and more damage (really?) and necros will be corrrupting boons without even trying and the only change that you can think to improve on a mesmer is condi? Honestly this game disappoints me more and more.

I achieved 2k drinks through natural gameplay…for free. I plan on getting the effects 50% off: 5,000 earned drinks, 5,000 from the TP. There needs to be some way to make the skin exclusive so that only the truly dedicated obtain it.

As in only the true grinders. As in only the people who have little else to do. The people who do wvw solely for example, again are left to grind for something they may want but have no other way to get. Have you seen the rewards in wvw? They’re pathetic. I thought anet said they were going to fix that three years on, but all they added were harvesting nodes while actually removing karma and gold for events.

I agree the skin should be hard to get. But let’s face it, they just want people to sink money into gems, again, to get something fun. It’s not about completing it- it’s about people having to buy the booze and thus the gems. I don’t normally mind this, but for every SINGLE thing in the game, it’s a bit much.

Well today i was gliding and accepted my ley line mastery while gliding. Once I did that, i started gliding backwards. So i respawned, went to get my Dragon chest reward and still I could only glide backwards. Had to restart the game. Just an FYI. Was weird.

I can’t even believe this was said. I just can’t. And I refuse to play the borderlands now that it is what it is. People on my server from EB always complained about the size of bl’s. I thought it was fine but now this. It’s way too huge. And all the pve is ANNOYING. It is pretty though.

I paid for a couple of finishers and I have to say I am not happy about this. Fix this or give people their gems back. You try to swap weapons from equipment tab and your finisher resets. Very annoying. How come no word on this… at all?

Wow. Well, if you are a T1 server, they will look into it, T2 maybe as well. If not, good luck getting any serious response from anet.

Please. People will defend the first while, maybe even up to a month because it is an “event”. Then, they will stop doing it altogether. That is the problem with this “event”. I get it, it has a cute little bow attached to it, with a small insignificant boost, to try to have people come on to wvw. Maybe it will get fair weathers on just for the rewards, but that is not a good way to host an event. Results will be skewed.

Must be nice for two people to potentially take a fortified keep, which makes zero sense. And hey, something like garri, you don’t just need one scout you need 3-4. With low population servers you won’t get that. You just won’t. Not to mention the servers that only play for kills and have few but very dedicated defenders.

You need people on the field to also be effective, and you are pulling them off with this.

And writing this in the update notes: “Now a player must scout the objectives in order to see them being attacked.”

Players always had to defend. Come on. But now you need twice the number. In bl, you will need 4 for garri, three for bay, 2-3 for Hills and normally, one for each north tower. But hey, you get rewards for it right? You know, the +wxp the +magic find. Oh that’s right, if you defend that won’t apply to you anyhow. This is forcing people to play a certain way. Do people want more defenders and scouts? Obviously! Is forcing them to do so a good idea? Obviously not.

Not to mention the rage I anticipate hearing in TS or reading in map chat when scouts fail to find invaders. Which will further demoralize defenders.

So have your little “event”. It’s not going to prove anything expect that now very small havok groups got their wish and can potentially flip a map.

And adding this boost, is just anet’s way of saying: hey we are going to do this regardless- we are just making you think we are testing it, but look: we are giving wvw something back. Magic find!!!!11! Can’t complain now….

Not even true. For things like keeps, where white swords are important, they could melt one gate in under 30 seconds with the proper population or golems, but not two.

There doesn’t need to be a test, is the point. The consensus has already expressed it is a bad idea and doesn’t need implementation.

However, here are some points I’ve seen on just a couple pages of this forum thread, and others I’ve heard in game, for improvements and ideas that should happen.

- Improving the server match up and rotations for WvW

- Disallowing players to rez fully downed allies while in combat.

- Disallowing players to rally off of anything other than enemy players in WvW

- Extending Waypoint timers on an attacked objective to keep defenders from “Rez-Rushing”

- Requiring a minimum number of defenders to neutralize the “flip” on an attacked objective’s circle.

- Decreasing the timer to 2:00 (two minutes) on the fully-downed player state in WvW.

- Rewarding Scouts for their time and effort in Scouting objectives.

- Points Per Kill system (other than Bloodlust Buff)

- Disallowing siege to be placed on gates, withing a certain range, that aren’t Rams.

- Disallowing groups of players to destroy a gate below 50% without the use of Siege.

Removing White Swords from objectives being attacked does not fall into a list of “improvements” which need to be made or adjusted for WvW. It is just not a viable change. Again, these are just a few ideas of improvement that could be made which far supersede what Anet, and only Anet, seems to want to prioritize as far as changes and adjustments go.

There are obvious pros and cons for some, and implementation ideas that are needed for others. However, they’re still better than what is obviously a broken idea.

I agree with almost everything here. Well done.

This is what is going to happen during the testing:

New changes, everyone will be all over it. For a while. A short while. People will defend, pay for people to defend, set up defense rotations. Then everyone will again lose interest in defending and we will be back to empty towers and no white swords. Your testing will prove nothing.

You got a lot of feedback here. No need to test anything. You are making the game worse for the defenders, period. And better for the awesome “skill” groups that probably do nothing defense wise and just open field, and the havokers of course. Might not be important to “skill” groups that white swords are removed and that hard rezzing is a more important issue than an issue that concerns the few that do defend, but it’s important to the defenders and the servers with few scouts.

But then again I don’t expect to be on during your testing of this stupid change.

Where the few people there struggle to keep up? But hey at least there are white swords, time enough to call another bl or EB to come help. But ya, no more. That would make too much sense. But it is a good way to lower the morale of the people who do try to defend border lands. I mean, even more than it already is.

I can say with 100% certainty that there are less than 10 people within the company of anet that have the position of knowledge and power to make that statement. It’s both highly unlikely that you met any of them, and it’s even more unlikely that they would say that.

That escalation was regrettable and avoidable. One of our people tried to talk & de-escalate it (link). I do not condemn the purported YB people who retaliated. I would also note that our thread-visitor from SBI never condemned his server-mates who initiated the griefing.

If our people are initiating this behavior, please let us know asap. I’m confident that YB’s WvW regulars do not support first-use of such tactics.

And, I’m not arguing for fair fights. I don’t mind challenging fights as long as they are manageable. Being outnumbered is fine. Being ridiculously outnumbered is not. We were fighting 20 with 10 at that camp several times. Each time, they called for help and 30 more came.

I’ll never understand people who play a competitive game that try to remove the competition aspect from the game.

You are seriously still going on about this? For what three days now? If you enjoy wvw then accept that that is part of the game, if not go pvp. You might be happier there. I always love posts that state that one server repeatedly does this or that, in this case chase you across the map. Which they weren’t. They were clearly going somewhere and attacking you in the process. Once you split off, guess what they stopped chasing. Oh, and your server was chasing me across the map all day today. sbi has proved to have immense numbers, but very low skill or tactics. you guys came into ebg keep 3-4 times when we werent outmanned and had close to 30. u wiped miserably in lords lol. but now were outmanned so it goes back to normal. not very smart tho when the points don’t count anyway since we get them b4 tick.

If you want to sit in a keep like that and farm a few bags, good on you I guess, your keep will still fall eventually. But don’t blame SBI, it’s a result of the population disparity between the servers. There’s nothing we can do about that. It is what it is.
When BP is playing against NSP and IOJ and the exact same thing is happening, do you think it’s fair when they claim you blob, or only win because of numbers? Borlisbag Pass?

The vast majority of “lazy players” and “runners” you are calling out here are the fair weathers that have come for the karma train and dragonite. As I have said earlier in the thread, there are some of us here that are not happy about the numbers we have at the moment. There are many people on SBI that enjoy fights, not running over others in some huge blob. But you also need to be honest with yourself, if you guys had these numbers you’d be doing the same thing.

Seems to me like no one on SBI wants a fair fight. Usually 5 mans or zergs that like to run over a few people. Not to mention how it strokes their kitteneen by the emotes.

I was out with my guild last night on IoJ Bl, we had about 10 and 2-3 pugs that joined us. Can’t say how many times we got run over by either IoJ(running about 20+) or YB(running 30-40). I have my emotes turned off, so no idea if I was teabagged or not as it really doesn’t matter that much to me.

The one time I turned my emotes on this week, All that happened was YB spamming /laugh and /sit.

Mhmm is the nature of the beast I suppose. Just shows you the maturity level of those that do it.

I really like how its SBI talking about maturity with emotes. Just last night I was with 10 of my guildies on EBG and we get steamrolled by 40 of you guys and you all /laugh like you guys just did the most awesomest thing in the world. But whatever floats your boat. Hats off to you guys, you are so pro.

Wow. Yes, this ONE person from SBI is the whole server talking. And stop whining about emotes. Seriously, it’s old. People whining about it are actually the ones showing a lack of maturity. Personally not fond of emotes, I never do them. But, just get over it. Every server does it. I know, I take pics of every server emoting so I can throw it back in people’s faces when they overly complain about SBI spamming emotes.

In SBI’s case, you have numbers caused by transfers, but less skill and poor organization, 90% of encounters I’ve had with your zergs have resulted in you wiping quickly.

In FA’s case, it’s because of numbers, skill, and organization, you guys bring an amazing fight every time we face you, keep it up!

wtf. The sbi zergs I have been in all weekend have been wiping both FA and DB when we have come across them.

Sadly, I have no idea what is going on in our own BL. But we really need to get that under control.

Oh and still enjoying the amahzing lag this is creating too! I really enjoy the delay in getting into the tower entrances that have a zerg of 40 people in front of it. That is my favourite.

Get rid of this bloodlust. So far no one is defending anything, they are running around in the centre trying to pvp with eachother and then there is the lag which makes the whole game ridiculous.

It’s a pretty kitten thing to do pretty much always (exception: killing stealth thieves). The same with trash talking on forums or trolly behavior in general. Sadly, I think SBI picked up a few bad apples recently, plus our resident more trolly members have been energized by the company and the lopsided matchup. We’re almost as bad as NSP in this thread.

From what I have seen, IoJ puts up a better borderland fight than SBI would pull off before our recent transfers, at least during NA primetime. Nothing to be ashamed of there, imo. Keep up the good fight IoJ!

I second this. Please fellow SBIers stop with the mean spirited comments, trash talking, forum warrioring, chest thumping nonsense. A little good natured smack talk is fun sometimes but the posts in this thread are not that. I don’t want to turn into BP or Mag.

I was disappointed in this matchup on Friday when I saw it. But I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised and have had more fun than I thought I would.

IoJ and NSP have put up a good fight against superior numbers – had some great and fun fights. And a fantastic battle at IoJ Bay over the weekend. Also had some good small group fights – had a great 6 v 6 or so the other day.

Remember where we were just a couple of weeks ago. Don’t lose sight of where we came from. We do not want to become the jerks that we used to hate.

It’s amazing how one server has attracted so many terrible guilds. The only reason you’re winning right now is because of coverage and numbers, not skill. SBI does not have skill and will never have skill.

Edit: Oh remind me, how many guilds have xferred to SBI? And how many of you guys tried recruiting BP guilds to SBI?

I was also glad last night to see BP again. It felt empty on our BL the previous day. Actually logged off early. Great job to all the BP guilds once again, VP and krew from what I saw. WFD as well. Good job to DH against the odds, you guys stuck through it and did not give up. Was always fun against your guilds too, Abys and SE and all the others. Good luck to all on reset!
